Rosalyn, Harry, Ron and Hermione were walking back to Gryffindor common room when Rosalyn spoke.

"D'you think I should've told them? You know, about the voice?"

"No, Rosalyn, even in the wizarding world, hearing voices isn't a good thing," Hermione warned.

"She's right you know," a portrait said. Rosalyn ignored him, and set off back to he common room in a silence of a thousand words.

The second years were in transfiguration. Rosalyn sat beside Ron and the two of them listened to McGonagall as she explained the lesson.

"Right, right, so today, we will be transforming animals into water goblets, like so," she pulled out her wand. "One, two, three vera verto."

The bird she was transforming turned into a clear, glass goblet. The class gasped at the transformation but soon realised it was not as easy at it looked.

"Now, who would like to go first?" McGonagall asked the class, no volunteers stepped forward, so she asked someone. "How about you, Mr Weasley? One, two, three, vera verto."

Ron cleared his throat and tapped Scabbers, whom he was practicing on, three times. "Vera verto!"

The goblet had a glass bottom, but the cup bit had a tail, and was furry, Rosalyn sniggered and Ron elbowed her in the ribs.

"That wand needs replacing, Mr Weasley," McGonagall had other things to worry about.

Hermione suddenly put up a hand.

"Yes, Miss Granger?"

"Professor, I was wondering if you could tell us about... the chamber of secrets?"

The class went silent. But McGonagall, for some reason no one knew, answered.

"The- the chamber of secrets Miss Granger, very well. Well, you all know that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by four of the greatest witches and wizards of the age. Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. Now three of the founders co-existed quite harmoniously, one did not."

Ron said to Rosalyn. "Three guesses who," she nodded. It wasn't hard to suss it out.

And so McGonagall said the predictable. "Salazar Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed magical learning should be kept within all magic families, in other words, pure bloods. Unable to sway the others, he decided to leave the school. Now according to legend, Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in the school called the Chamber of Secrets. Although shortly before leaving, he sealed it, until the time when his own true heir returned to the school. The heir would be able to open the chamber and unleash, the horror within, and by doing so, purge the school of all those, in Slytherin's eyes, were unworthy to study magic."

"Muggleborns," Hermione answered without a question.

McGonagall started to realise that she might have scared people, so she reassured them. "Well, naturally the school has been searched many times, and needless to say, no such chamber exists."

Hermione suddenly asked. "Professor, what exactly does legend say, lies within the chamber?"

"The chamber is said to be home to something that only the heir of Slytherin can control," McGonagall said. "It is said to be the home, of a monster."

The class looked at each other in shock, Rosalyn cast a look at Draco, and his face was set, it was a kind of sneer-smirk combo, and Rosalyn didn't like it one bit.
