Chapter 22: Will of Steel

Horikita Pov

Ayanokoji and Ichinose finished their deal and we all split up. Seriously what is up with Ayanokoji? He seems to care about the class, but I kinda get the vibe that at the end of the day he will go as far as he needs to.

We found out the Class B VIP's are Amikura, Kobashi, Haruto Yonezu, as well as Shiranami Chihiro

I went to the ships library and sat down and began to read Crime and Punishment for the 3rd time. Some might think I am weird for that, but I think the nuances of this book attract me back to it.

Tachibana: Hey, are you Horikita Suzune?

A sweet voice rang into my ears. It seems like I'm getting no time to myself. The girls who I share my room with, this exam, and Ayanokoji.

Horikita: Yeah that's me, what do you need?

I looked up and almost gasped. It was Tachibana Akane, from Manabu's class. Why is she here?

Tachibana: Your brother, the Student Council President wants to see you. Please come with me

My breath was caught in my throat as I nodded and followed Tachibana. He wanted to see me? Why? I had reached out before but he doesn't even read the message...

We approached the door of a meeting room and Tachibana opened it. On the door was a sign saying "Student Council Office"

Tachibana: I have brought your younger sister. I will take my leave now.

Tachibana bowed and left the room. I began to observe the room. There was a mini-fridge in the corner and a long table with a long window. At the head of the table was my older brother

Manabu: Hello Suzune

Horikita: Hello Manabu

The air was thick with awkwardness as I sat at the seat opposite of Manabu

Manabu: So I wanted to ask about your relationship with Ayanokoji Kiyotaka. Are you friends with him?

Horikita: I...

I had to think. See, he is nice to me, and I wouldn't entirely object if he asked me if we wanted to hang out with some others. After I started hanging out with the people in our class, I realized it's pretty fun to have friends. So I suppose, Ayanokoji pushed me forward...as my friend

Horikita: Yes, yes he is. I have made some other friends...

Manabu actually looked a bit surprised at that. He leaned closer across the table

Manabu: Really? How did that happen

I told him about what had happened. How I made friends, how I considered Ayanokoji as my friend. At the end, he smiled.

Manabu: Keep growing Suzune, and you may be able to surpass me

The door opened and I saw a boy and girl enter the room with Tachibana looking in and mouthing the words "I'm sorry"

Nagumo: Hello Horikita-Senpai, Horikita-Chan.

Asahina: Oh so this is Horikita-Senpai's little sister?

Two members of the student council: Vice-President Nagumo Miyabi and Student Council Treasurer Asahina Nazuna

Tachibana: Nagumo-Kun, Asahina-San, Horikita-San is having a private conversation so please leave!

Nagumo: To be fair, we are going to have a student council meeting around now, so it's not our fault

???: Even so, we should have waited

Kiriyama Ikuto, the Student Council 2nd Year Secretary who served under the second year members, just like how Tachibana was the secretary of the third year students

Horikita: Oh well I will leave now anyways.

I was about to leave however Nagumo walked over to me

Nagumo: Ah you're just going to leave? You should sit in and watch your precious older brother do his work

Manabu: No the Student Council meetings are not wanna to be seen by non-members

Nagumo: Haah, well Horikita-Chan, let's exchange contact info!

Kiriyama: Nagumo-San please keep your hormones under control, and don't flirt with Horikita-Senpai's sister right in front of him.

Kiriyama stepped in between Nagumo and I, and I took my chance to walk out of the room. Nagumo was a strange figure indeed...

I met with the Planet X group as we all sat down. The members of the group were:

Of Class C: Sudo Ken, Hasebe Haruka, Hondo Ryotaro, and I

In Class D: Ryuen Kakeru, Shiina Hiyori, Tokito Hiroya, Nishino Takeko

In Class B: Himeno Yuki, Shiranami Chihiro, Kanzaki Ryuji, and Ando Sayo

Class A: Yamamura Miki, Katsuragi Kohei, Morishige Takuro, Yano Koharu

We all sat down and the one to start the conversation was Shiina

Shiina: So has anyone read any good books recently?

Sudo: Sorry but no, I have been busy practicing basketball.  This ship has its own court for basketball and stuff

Tokito: Oh yeah I heard you are one of the stars, that's pretty good.

Sudo: Yeah thanks du-

Tokito: For a monkey yeah.

Sudo stood up and was about to reach over to biatch slap Tokito, but I grabbed his arm

Horikita: Sudo-Kun, get a grip.  Class D is just trying to provoke you

I glared at Ryuen but he only chuckled and stared right back at me. 

Himeno: Would you people stop arguing?

Katsuragi: Yes, we are here for an exam, not a fight.

Ryuen: Kukuku, but we are playing the exam Baldie.  We are using the tools we have to win, what are you doing though?  Fighting a crippled loli?

Katsuragi narrowed his eyes and Ryuen once again responded

Shiranami: C-can everyone stop fighting?

Ryuen: Why, did you're fantasy with Ichinose get interrupted by us?

Everyone gasped and Shiranami looked away

Ryuen: Kukuku, So I was right huh?  The funny part is I purely guessed that too!

Shiranami: Why are you so mean all the time?  You are just an awful person!

Kanzaki: She's right Ryuen, she's right.  You are just a mean and awful person who can do nothing but be mean to people!

Ryuen pretended to wipe a tear away and snickered

Ryuen: Do you really think I would be hurt by you My Little Pony wannabes?  Your class is so pathetic and just worry about friendship, but guess what?
