(Start in the soon-to-be nursery in the simulated version of PEARL and MARINA's apartment. There is a lot of green: green walls, green decorations, a green blanket on the crib. MARINA stands in the doorway looking satisfied with herself. PEARL enters and immediately winces.)
Pearl-What is going on in there?!
Marina-The great part of being trapped in a simulation is that I can test out ideas for the baby's nursery without tearing up the actual apartment. What do you think?
Pearl-I think we should pick a color that's easy on the eyes. Yellow, white, something that won't blind anyone that enters!
(She enters the room.)
Pearl-Plus, isn't green a masculine color in Octarian culture? I thought we were going to go gender neutral.
Marina-Green's a gender neutral color in Inkling culture, right? And the baby's going to be an Inkling.
Pearl-Hm...Spider and Inkura both wear green, so it makes sense. I just wouldn't plaster it everywhere, okay?
Marina-Okay.
(She walks to the back of the room and picks up two squid plushies on the windowsill. One is dark green with angry eyes, and the other is light green with happy eyes.)
Marina-But these plushies stay. They'll remind him of home.
Pearl-For the last time, we are not assuming the baby's gender.
Marina-But what if it comes out, and it is a boy?
Pearl-We still don't know. Just take a look at Monii. He changes gender every minute.
Monii-(offscreen) Incorrect.
(Shot of MONII standing in the doorway.)
Monii-She changes gender every minute.
Pearl-Shouldn't you be battling?
Monii-Oh, yeah.
(She leaves. Opening theme. Cut to Hammerhead Bridge. CALLIE and MARIE are commentating.)
Callie-We've taken a minute to internalize our real-world crimes, and we're back to commentate this Rainmaker battle on Hammerhead Bridge.
Marie-Team colors are...why isn't the stage starting?
Callie-Um...
Marie-We're getting a great view of the bridge that doesn't have anyone on it.
(BRIDGETT is yellow. She has the Tri-Slosher Nouveau. MONII is purple.)
Callie-Um, is something happening?
Marie-Huh.
Callie-Ready...
Callie/Marie-Go!
(The players launch onto the arena. BRIDGETT runs while violently sloshing forward.)
Marie-As you can see, Bridgett's coming out with the Tri-Slosher Nouveau.
Callie-You know what the perfect name for it would be? The Soda Slosher.
(BRIDGETT swims to the left. Then she runs back to the middle.)
Callie-This thing has the fizzy bomb and the Tacticooler. It would be the perfect name!
(BRIDGETT throws a fizzy bomb at the center.)
Callie-You know you want to, Turf League.
(BRIDGETT runs to the right. A purple Trizooka shot lands next to her.)
