Fuegoleon watched as you were messing around with Mereoleona as you always did since you three were younger. Fuegoleon had always had a small crush on you, even if you were the calmer version of his sister which could be quite terrifying sometimes. At Least with his sister, he could read her like an open book but it was really hard to read you since you weren't as hot headed as his sister. You were the only one that could tame the wild beast of his sister, which was amusing since she had an aura to not mess with her. He still remembers when you managed to stop the two from fighting since they had killed your puppy in the middle of their fight when they were younger. The memory was burned in the back of his mind and he noticeably shuttered causing his squad to look at him confused.
"Are you okay Captain brother...." Leo asked, and Fuegoleon nodded his head slightly.
"Yeah, just an unwanted memory popped into my mind..."
"Was it the time you and big sis killed her puppy... I heard stories she is terrifying." Leo said and Fuegoleon sighed how many people were going to mention that incident, it's like it's brought up when you were around.
"Yeah..."
"I am not terrifying that is hurtful... especially coming out of your mouth Leo. I have only been nice to you." You said with a pout.
"Eh? I am sorry..." Leo said rubbing his neck.
"Remember I stopped your sister from throwing you into a literal lion den when you were younger."
"Oh yeah, that's right. You are like my favorite person..." Leo said hugging you causing you to laugh slightly.
"I still think you should have let me do it, he would have been much stronger if he climbed out on top."
"No!" You and Fuegoleon said in unison causing Mereoleona to cross her arms huffing.
"I was climbing out of dens at six years old."
"No offense Mere, but not everyone is as psycho, crazy, suicidal as you. Okay? You push past limits that the normal human being shouldn't even have..." You said and several others began laughing since you weren't wrong.
"I take high offense to that..."
"Yeah but you love me..." You said, humming as you pet Leo's head as he decided to not be near his sister at this current moment.
"No, but Fuegoleon does. Which by the way, you should just marry Fuegoleon and join the family."
"Mereoleona!" Fuegoleon yelled and went to hit her to shut her up but instead Mereoleona dodged and the two began to fight.
"Ehem, did you guys forget what happened last time you two fought together. My loving and adorable puppy that my parents got me for my birthday WAS BURNED TO THE CRISP (poor dog geez why are they still alive after that???)!" You yelled the last part your voice roaring as you began to take the form of a dragon and the two stopped forgetting for a brief second that they almost died...
"Sorry..." They said in unison and you went back to your normal self huffing.
"Anyway to answer your question Mere, I am not marrying into the family. Fuegoleon doesn't need the both of us tormenting him. You are enough, he doesn't need me on top of that." You said making Fuegoleon smile slightly but deep down he wanted to marry you.
"Oh please, wouldn't it be fun though?"
"Yes, but no..." You said with a smile and walked off.
"Anyway, I got work to do, the crazy old man himself apparently slacked off of his work again so now I have to finish Julius's paperwork before Marx has a fit." You said hopping on your broom and disappearing. Fuegoleon watched as you left and Mereoleona hit his shoulder once the two of them and Leo were alone.
"What was that for?"
"If you don't just propose to her already?"
"What?"
"Captain bro we can see that you are totally in love with her..." Leo said and Fuegoleon rubbed his neck, he did not want to be having this conversation with the two of his siblings.
"It's fine, plus she doesn't want to marry me..." Fuegoleon said but Mereoleona sighed slightly.
"She is only saying that to protect herself from getting hurt. Just. propose. To. Her. Trust me, I know all of her secrets." Mereoleona said walking off.
"If you don't do anything then I am going to do it for you. I will show her your secret stash of everything she has ever given you and the letters you wanted to write to her but never did."
"Wait... you know about that."
"I am your older sister, I find out everything." She said waving her hand in the air.
"I am never falling in love so she can never hold that over my head." Leo said and Fuegoleon only patted his brother's head.
"Yeah. Save yourself, too late for me." Fuegoleon said before walking off to find you, he would rather talk to you first before his sister found you. He could sense your mana and you weren't far, once he found you he noticed you were doing some of the paperwork that Julius had slacked off on a bench.
"Hey..." Fuegoleon said, and you looked up and gave him a smile.
"Hey Leon... what's up?"
"Nothing, what are you doing out here?"
"His office is stuffy so I rather be outside trying to lessen the workload." You said and Fuegoleon nodded his head and it fell silent. He glanced at you as you went back to signing certain things and the wind was blowing your hair in your face. You kept struggling with it falling out of place so he got behind you and braided it a bit so you wouldn't have to worry about it.
"Thanks Leon..." You said, but trailed off as he kissed your cheek. A blush dusted your cheeks as you looked at him surprised and he sat beside you not saying one word about the kiss. You couldn't help but smile before returning the gesture but fate seemed to have something else planned because he turned his head so he could apologize for kissing your cheek but your lips landed on his instead.
You both froze and the papers fell to the ground. It was both yours and Fuegoleon's first kiss and you both were quite awkward. Fuegoleon decided to take charge and cup your cheek and began to move his lips against yours, you slowly began to relax and kissed back. The kiss was innocent yet it burned something within you two. He wrapped his free arm around your waist as his hand was still on your cheek, you slowly wrapped your arms around his neck the paperwork soon forgotten.
After a few more minutes you both parted, your noses touching each other's. He met your eyes and you had a blush covering your cheeks, you couldn't help but notice he was blushing slightly as well. It was silent before you buried your face into his chest and he held you tightly to him.
"So...I swear it was supposed to be your cheek." You mumbled and Fuegoleon let out a small laugh shaking his head slightly.
"It's fine, I was going to apologize for kissing your cheek. But that kiss was ten times better than any kiss to the cheek would be."
"Yeah, it was pretty great wasn't it?" You said looking up at Fuegoleon. He nodded his head with that smile before leaning down to capture your lips in another gentle kiss, but the moment was almost instantly ruined as you heard someone clearing their throat.
"I knew it, how long has this been going on hmm? We are keeping secrets now?" Mereoleona asked raising an eyebrow as you both parted ways.
"This has been going on for about five minutes now as a matter of fact..." You said with sass, and Mereoleona rolled her eyes slightly but smiled.
"Well I shall leave you guys to it. Get married!" With that she walked off and Fuegoleon sighed softly looking at you apologetically.
"I am so sorry for her."
"It's fine, it's to be expected. It's mereoleona we are talking about." You said laying your head on his shoulder. It was silent before Fuegoleon took your hand in his.
"So...will you marry me?"
"Are you asking me to marry me or are just asking if you asked if I would?" You asked and Fuegoleon looked at you confused and you only laughed.
"I think the latter question."
"You would have to ask me to find out..." he shook his head letting your hand go. He got down one knee and pulled a ring out he had for awhile now.
"I had this ring for a long time now wanting to ask you to marry me but didn't know if I should. (Y/N) will you marry me?"
"Yes Fuegoleon I would love to be your wife." You said hugging him tightly and he returned the hug with a smile. You felt him kiss your head before slipping the ring on your finger.
"Will you take my last name?"
"Of course, your sister drilled the last name into my head since we were young." You said laughing and he shook his head.
"She is always meddling in people's relationships."
"Well to be fair we had a non existent relationship. Since you avoided me at all costs." You said and Fuegoleon huffed.
"You were hanging out with her, anyone sane enough would stay away from her."
"Fair enough..."
