Hi everyone! I'm sorry for the delay! For the past few months, I've been crazy busy with the family business. Nothing bad happened, I assure you.

Truthfully this chapter went through some changes as I wasn't confident with some of the parts I wrote early on before I left on a trip. So the rewrites have held this chapter back.

Anywho! I shouldn't keep you all waiting for it any longer!

Enjoy the latest chapter, everyone! Once again, thank you for all the kind comments and support!

Nawin, Sayomi, and Akame stood firm in their position. None move a muscle in the tense air hovering around them. Still stunned by his Knight's unexpected appearance, Nawin couldn't find the words to speak after uttering her name.

Akame's eyes shift to Sayomi, who gives an intense gaze back as those blood-red eyes glow. The moment those slit eyes radiate, Akame disappears and reappears in front of the Pureblood with the unsheathe Black Thunder in hand. Pushing Nawin aside, Sayomi lifts her right arm and block the downward strike with the forearm. The crimson blade grinds into the hard skin to create sparks. Both women glare at one another and hold their ground. "What did you do to him?" Akame utters in a quiet but sharp tone, "Simply giving him the truth," Sayomi retorts.

In a swift motion, Akame clenches her left hand tightly into a fist and throws it forward. When the attack connects to the side of Sayomi's face, silence befalls. Akame grits her teeth as the Pureblood merely remain to stare at her, not the slightest affected by the punch. Placing the right palm on Akame's stomach, Sayomi snaps it forward to send the Knight blasting away. Losing her grip on it, Akame drops Black Thunder to the ground as she throws up saliva by the brutal strike before crashing face-first onto the earth.

Taking a step forward, Sayomi halts when Nawin appears in front, finally snapping out of his shock. "Stop, Sayomi!" "Then control your Knight," she replies simply, crossing her arms. Nawin didn't say anything else and rush towards Akame, who's now on all fours, taking deep breaths to get air back to her lungs. "Akame," Nawin speaks as he kneels to the side, looking down at his Knight with concern. "Stop this. I-" "Did y-you forget what I said before, Nawin-kun?" Akame utters as she wipes her mouth before looking over to face him. "In Vamhaven." Nawin's eyes slowly widen, 'If I ever feel a malicious intent from her, I will attack her to protect you, Nawin-kun, even if you are against my action. Your life is the most important thing to me.' Those words Akame uttered replay clearly in his mind.

As Nawin remains still, Akame grabs the Black Thunder laid on the left and shakily rises to her feet. She glares ahead at the Pureblood and points the red blade at her. Sayomi did not conceal the look of impress in her eyes. Even though she is aware of the outcome, knowing she stood no chance against her. Akame still stands there strong to protect Nawin. That action cause Sayomi's lip to twitch upwards ever slightly.

"This is why I like you, Akame," Sayomi speaks up, "You have an unwavering passion for protecting Nawin. Loyal and genuinely care for him. You remind me of an old friend of mine who was just like that towards him." Akame's lower the blade ever slightly while Nawin stands up, wondering who Sayomi was implying when mentioning this old friend of hers.

Shaking his head and focusing on the situation in hand, Nawin steps forward and lightly grab hold of his Knight's tense shoulder to get her attention. "I know it's a lot to ask, Akame, but please lower your sword." When finally taking a moment to look into her King's eyes, Akame's sword slowly falls to the side. She turns to fully face him while wearing a look of shock when seeing the light once again shining in those brown eyes. That horrid empty and hollow look that has haunted her is now gone. And the faint but warm smile worn on his face has her heart swell in happiness.

Nawin is shocked when Akame abruptly drops the Black Thunder to the ground and steps forward, pressing her face against his chest. She brings her arms up to hug him, holding the back of the shirt tightly. "Y-you look happy again," she whispers with such relief and happiness that Nawin's expression softens. He returns the hug and smiles widely. "I am, Akame... Thank you for caring so much." Even though her weeping can't be heard, Nawin can feel his shirt getting wet from the tears.

When Akame regained her composure and wiped away the tears, Nawin took her upstairs to Sayomi's room. The Pureblood remains quiet and simply guided the King and Knight. Even though things have settled down and Sayomi shows no signs of hostility, Akame still keeps one eye on her at all times. No matter what, it doesn't change that this powerful being has harmed her friends on multiple occasions, and that is something Akame finds truly hard to overlook. But, for Nawin, she'll listen.

"So," Sayomi leans back on the wooden chair, arms crossed underneath her breast while staring across to Akame. Currently, the three are seated at the dining table. Both girls seated across from one another while Nawin rests between them. "Before we start," Akame sharply inserts and glances around the room before stopping at Makasha. "Where is Miraya, Nawin-kun?" "..." Akame's eyes narrow at the silence. Nawin turns to Sayomi with a knowing look. "It's up to you, my dear," she replies with a casual shrug, "I told you that secret... Do as you wish with it."

Hearing this have Akame more on edge, she turns back to Nawin and sees him take a heavy sigh before shifting to her. "Akame... I might as well be blunt when telling you this. Miraya," Nawin finds himself halting for a moment as that fact still hurts him within, but he pushes on, "Miraya is an alternative persona that Sayomi created in the past. She's... Not real, Miraya is-" Nawin gets cut off when the Akame shoots up and grabs Sayomi by the collar in a swift motion. The Pureblood remains calm and stares back at the hateful glare directing at her from the Knight. "You," Akame growls, "What lie have you told hi-" before that sentence can be fully uttered, Sayomi's entire body explodes in a blinding light.

"Kuh!" Akame grunts, releasing her grip and steps back, closing her eyes instinctively by the sudden brightness. When the light dies down, Akame opens her eyes, and a gasp escapes her lip. Standing across her is none other than Miraya. Nawin stares at the Coldus for a moment and finds himself averting gaze. Akame looks at that face and sees it holds no warmth and kindness that Miraya would always wear. "That's just a simple transformation spell!" Akame spat, "Miraya would never wear such an expression. She i-" "Akame," Nawin's soft voice causes the Knight to stop and turns to him. Seeing that bitter smile on his face. "There is no deception happening here. Trust me." "B-but, Nawin-kun," "Akame... Don't you think out of everyone, I would be the most skeptical of this?" Those words hit Akame, and her anger subside.

Sitting back on the chair, Akame looks across at Miraya with a calmer look, but her eyes still hold many emotions. "Please... Explain to me so I can understand this." Seeing Nawin having a difficult time looking at her, Sayomi shifts back to her true form and returns to her seat. She gives Nawin a gentle look, which he returns with a faint smile. That small interaction speaks volumes for Akame, who watched all of that in silence. It was all genuine.

Turning attention to Akame, Sayomi describes everything involving the past she shares with Nawin. How they met that night when she saved him from a Low-Level Vampire and to when she died on the hospital bed due to both her heart failure and anemia. Sayomi told the necessary stuff, and Akame silently listens, keeping a stoic reaction, but her eyes betrayed that. In several parts of her story, Sayomi sees the shock clear in those red orbs.

"That why I finally revealed the truth," Sayomi states, "Nawin remembered enough that it led him to Shinko Park to find the time capsule." "... Why," Akame looks up from the table to Sayomi, "Why did you bury that box?" "Insurance... In case something was to happen to me. Yao simply suppressed Nawin's memories of me instead of wiping it entirely. Sooner or later, Nawin would regain them, and it would guide him to that time capsule where he learns the truth... Discover the one secret I kept from him. Don't forget, Akame," Sayomi shifts her sight at a drawer, the one that held the brooch. "In the past, when I was with Nawin. I had been on death doors several times. If I were to die, then I would not want to have this big secret disappear with me. I would never forgive myself if I kept such a secret from Nawin forever."

"Sayomi," Nawin whispers in shock while Akame's sharp eyes soften at the heartfelt words. "I-I," Akame tries to speak but couldn't find the correct words. Her mind is in shambles. With all of this stacked on her and finding out that Miraya, a person she considered a friend and had grown fond of in the past couple of weeks, was just a persona Sayomi created to keep Nawin safe. It was too much to take. Akame turns to Nawin, who looks at her with a faint but warm smile. 'Nawin-kun...' Her heart swells in sadness, she can't imagine the kind of emotional stress Nawin had been through when he discovered all of this.

"Just what do you want?" Akame asks in honest, staring at Sayomi with confusion. "To keep him safe," Sayomi answers, indicating to Nawin, "And?" "Nothing more," "That can't be it," Akame retorts, "Then explain why you are forming a group?" "During the time I was separated from Nawin, I have made some powerful enemies, Akame" Sayomi state in a sharp tone. "Enemies that can kill you and your friends without much effort. And some are beginning to recognize my connection to Nawin. Marius is a prime and recent example. No matter how strong I am, I can't be in multiple places at once." "That group of yours... People like Freed and Ivory won't hesitate to kill Nawin," "If they were able to kill Nawin successfully, then I would be disappointed in him."

Nawin's eyes widen at those words, and he shifts to Sayomi, who remains calm, not regretting saying that. Akame's eyes flash in anger, seeing those words hurt her King. "My dear," Sayomi calls out to Nawin, shifting to him, "You need to know I can't always protect you... Not anymor-" "I know," Nawin inserts, "Your words were strong, but I understand them, Sayomi. You simply want me to become stronger," "... You must, my dear," Sayomi reply in a softer tone, "There are many powerful adversaries you'll face in the future. I wish things were different, but this here is the harsh reality."

"You say that," Akame speaks up, "But if you want to protect him so much, then why aren't you working on disposing all of his potential foes?" "Because some foes are well hidden in the shadows," Sayomi sharply retorts, "They are beyond my reach and are simply waiting for the right time to strike. Like the Akumi." "Akumi," Nawin repeats, remembering his encounters with them. "None of you stand a chance against them. It'll take a miracle for even the both of you to take one of them down... And from what I've gathered, the Akumi have well over ten individuals in their rank."

Silence falls around the table for a moment until Sayomi stands up and pushes the chair back. "Now," she starts and looks at Akame straight in the eyes, "I was willing to tell you all of this because I hold a level of trust in you, Akame. I presume you won't be spouting this out to anyone?" "Unless Nawin-kun told me otherwise then no... I won't." "Good, then now I request you to leave. It's getting late, and I'm getting hungry. Furthermore, I'm not exactly pleased with you at interrupting our date," "D-date?" Akame blinks and turns to Nawin, who holds a faint blush.

Sayomi smirk at the adorable reaction from Makasha before turning to Akame, signaling her to the door. "Come on, I'll take you out," "Wait," Nawin stands up, "I'll handle that." "It's fine, my dear," Sayomi smile gently. "You handle our dinner. I actually also want to have a one to one chat with Akame for a moment" "Oh, ok."

Sayomi opens the door and turns around to watch Akame stopping in front of Nawin. "Akame," before he would say anymore, Akame quietly pull Nawin into a hug. "Don't worry about me," she whispers "This was a lot to take, but I'm glad I know. You really trust me with all of this?" "You are one of the few I truly trust, Akame," Nawin reply with a warm smile. Pulling back, Akame gives a beautiful smile, "Thank you. I... I am glad."

When leaving the room, both Akame and Sayomi descend the stairs in silence until they end up in front of the Motel. "What did you mean back there," Akame finally speaks and turns around to face Sayomi. The cold night wind blows by them. "Pardon?" "You trust me? Was that a joke?" "No," Sayomi answers, shocking the Knight. "I trust you because I know no matter what, you'll always be by Nawin's side. Even if the entire supernatural world is against him, you would still be by his side, no?" "My place is by his side," Akame answers without hesitation. A small smile plays on Sayomi's lip. "And that's why I trust you. I know you'll protect him and guard his back."

"You... Truly love him," Akame utters out. "Of course," Sayomi shifts her eyes back down from the sky. "My heart belongs to him. It has been like that ever since I first saw his bright smile that night when I saved him. I practically watched that boy grow before my eyes. I cherished all the times he would bombard me with hugs when I entered through the front door. I cherished the times he would ask me to stay over to sleep with him for the night. I cherished the times we would simply be out and have fun in Shinko Park or somewhere else. Being with him was and is still the brightest moments of my life."

"And," Sayomi takes a heavy sigh, "It hurts me that I can't be by his side permanently like I used to, but like I said to him. That's the harsh reality we live in. For his safety, I can't be with him like before. I have made enemies from too many places. My existence spill too much danger. A Pureblood Vampire. I possess enough power to make the three factions to join force and hunt me down."

"That why I ask this of you, Akame" Sayomi looks ahead at the Knight. "I know Nawin well... Better than most. I see he is walking down a path that'll be full of hardship and will force him to make tough decisions... Decisions that will shine a bad light on him even though his intention is good. Through all of that, he will need people he can fully trust by his side. People that'll walk with him and shine light in his world, so he won't lose sight. Can I trust you to be one of those people?" "Like I said," Akame raises her arm forward, the Black Thunder appears in hand. "I am his Knight and, more importantly, his friend... I will always be with him through thick and thin."

Sayomi closes her eyes as a smile of relief form on her lip. The night wind blows by and lifts her beautiful white locks. "That truly puts my heart at ease to hear." Opening her eyes, Sayomi turns to Akame and wear that sincere smile. "As much as I wish it were not to be, I can't be his shield any longer. Nawin will need to grow and become stronger... He no longer has anything holding him back. He regained his memory, and he has people like you and Misako by his side. Roles that I once took along with an old friend of mine. Knowing this has me optimistic about his future. I can move forward with fewer worries for him" "Move forward?" "I have other goals, Akame, though all of them always hold the same end purpose... Protecting the person I can't live without, and that's Nawin."

With that said, Sayomi turns around and heads back to the stairs. "Wait," Akame speaks up, "You mention this old friend of yours multiple times and that I reminded you of them... Who are they?" Sayomi stops and glances back with a smirk. "You've encountered her before... One that resembles Akeno Himejima." Akame's eyes widen as the image of that enigma Akumi member flash in her mind. "I see you recalled." Sayomi shifts forward and resumes walking. "Before I even came into Nawin's life, she was there guarding him since his birth. Like myself, that woman would give the world to him... A shame how things turned out for her."

Time Skip: Next Day

A pale and petite hand stops in front of the white door and gives a few polite knocks. "Akeno-onee-chan," Asia softly calls out, dressed in the school uniform with a bag back strapped on her back. Silence greets the blind blonde, and her shoulder slumps ever slightly. "Lucy-nee-chan and I are heading to school now... I hope we all can walk together there soon."

With nothing left to say and silence again greets as a response, Asia turns to the left and walk to the stairs where Lucy is waiting. The older blonde stops in front of the younger girl and gives a gentle pat on the head, trying to brighten her sister's mood. "Give her some time, Asia. She'll get better" "... Ok."

Taking her sister's hand, Lucy guides her down the stairs to reach the front door. "Where's Azazel-san?" "He left late last night. Said that there's matter back at Grago that required his attention." Stopping by the door, both Makashas put on their shoes and are ready to leave until Jonathan steps into the hallway from the living room. He greets the girls with his usual warm smile. "Have everything you need for school?" "Yeah," Lucy answers while Asia smile and nods to her to Father's question. "Good. Have fun in school and study hard. I'm sure with last week being off, there'll be lots of work ready for the students" "Not exactly what we want to hear, Dad" Lucy grunts, which gets a chuckle from Jonathan while Asia smiles in amusement.

Saying their goodbyes, Asia and Lucy exit the house. Jonathan watches the door shut itself, and his gentle expression drops to exhaustion. The sky-blue eyes shift to the family photo hang by the hallway. Nawin stood in the middle while holding Lucy in his arms. Accompanying his sides are Jonathan and Yao. All four smiling happily. "Where are you, Son?" Jonathan's eyes turn to concern, "Have you regained your memory?" "Of course, he has," Yao says, walk out of the kitchen with a tray in hand containing breakfast for Akeno. "She's here, Jonathan," the Mother utters in a stoic tone, staring at the family picture. "I don't know her reasons and why she decided to bring Miraya back, but that will push Nawin to fill in the blanks..." Jonathan glance over when Yao walks up the stairs to the second floor. "Do you want to do anything?" "No, if Nawin has regained his memories, then he will have to do things on his own. That also goes with if he can find it within himself to forgive me" "Yao," "Don't." The woman stops and looks back with a bitter smile "What I did was wrong... Even though it was for good intention. It still doesn't change the fact that I tempered with my precious son's memory... No mother should ever do that."

Kuoh Academy

"What are you doing?" Kokoro stops in front of Issei's desk, watching him writing down answers in a sheet of papers in blazing speed. "Wait... Isn't that our homework from two weeks ago?" "Yep," Elise answers, stood on the side as she examines the answers to check if it matches hers. "Hmm, Kokoro, it seems we have gotten some of them wrong. Issei's wrote a different answer for Number Six and Ten" "... No," Kokoro speaks after getting a good look. "We got it right, it's just this dummy over here is answering them wrong" "WHAT?!" that snaps Issei out of his concentration and looks up at his Queen "Seriously?!" "Yep. Better change them as you got three minutes before class start" "Ahhhh!" "Honestly, you had the entire last week to do this! The hell were you doing?" "I forgot, alright!"

With a look of realization appear on his face, Issei wears and innocent smile as he faces his Queen. "Kokoro, you know that you look really gorgeous today?" The orange-hired girl rolls her eyes, knowing where this is going. "Also, you are so smart! Like the top three in our class!" "The top actually" "Of course! So, would it be ok that you allow me to have a little sneak peek on your answers?" "No."

Issei did not even waste a second after receiving that answer to turn to Elise. "Elise, can you help poor lit-" "Dude!" Kokoro shouts and slaps her palm on the table, scaring Hyoudou. "Don't use Elise's kindness like that!" "I am desperate here!" "Then you should have done this sooner!" Issei opens his mouth to reply but stops, his eyes turn solemn for a moment. Without saying anymore, Issei returns to work, scrubbing off the wrong answers.

Kokoro's eyes soften by the sudden shift of mood from her King. With everything going on with Nawin, Kokoro can guess he is the reason why Issei's been more absent-minded. 'Alright.' With a sigh, Kokoro takes the empty chair by the side and set it beside Issei. She takes a seat and leans over to examine the sheet. "What are you doing?" Issei asks, blinking as he set the eraser down, "Helping you... Come on, grab the pencil. Class is going to start soon." Issei's face brightens before giving the nod. "Alright!" Stood there quietly, Elise smile at the warm scene, watching Kokoro's soft side shining through.

"... He's not coming, is he?" Riser speaks while looking out of the window that shows a view of the courtyard. Yuuto stops by the side and leans his back on the window, his hands gripping the frame. "Doesn't seem like it." Yuuto glance back at the window to watch the remaining students making way into the building to get to their classes. "Akeno-senpai too isn't present. Lucy-san informed me that she is still unresponsive, refusing to leave the room." Riser grunts and scratch his head in frustration. "Doubt anything is going to change, Riser," Yuuto says with a sour smile, leaning forward to stand straight. "Not until Nawin-kun returns. Though..." Riser perks at the pause and glance over. "What?" "I've noticed Miraya-san has not been present for a while. Furthermore, it has become a routine that she would walk with Nawin-kun to school in the mornings. I did not spot her anywhere near the school this morning."

Riser opens his mouth to comment until the front door slams open, which makes him and Yuuto turn to see Akame entering the class. "... Wonder if she knows where Nawin is," Riser mutters out, eyeing the always enigmatic Knight. "If she does," Yuuto speaks "Doubt we'll get any answers from her. Her loyalty solely lies with Nawin-kun," "Yeah, I know. Not like I want to know of his whereabouts at the moment. But, if I were to think of anyone that would know, it would be her" "I can see why."

Setting the books on the table, Akame leans back on the chair and release a silent sigh. "Morning, Akame-chan!" that unmistakable cheery voice greets the Knight. Akame opens her eyes and offers a faint smile to Misako as she takes a seat on the right. "Morning." "Hmm," Misako blinks and leans over, "Are you ok, Akame-chan? You look tired," "I am a bit."

After the event last night, Akame barely got any sleep when she returned home. The revolution that Sayomi is Miraya was still something that shocked her. Rarely have anything stunned Akame as much as that reveal last night. 'Nawin-kun.' The Knight glance toward the window as the students proceed to their respective seats when the teacher enters through the front door. Akame stares at the clear blue sky, wondering where her King is currently.

'That truly puts my heart at ease to hear.' Sayomi's words abruptly ring in Akame's mind, followed by an image of her bearing that sincere smile. Akame believes those words, and that smile was as real as it can be. And it just makes her feelings toward the Pureblood Vampire more conflicted. Akame can see Sayomi truly cares for Nawin and is currently the only person that's giving him joy in his life. 'But... Just how long can you keep this up, Sayomi? Your time with Nawin-kun is limited...'

Brasov

"By the way, there's one thing I got to ask." Nawin and Sayomi walk through the bustling main square of Brasov that's currently holding a food market. The couple held each other's hand and steered clear from the market so they wouldn't be swept up by the crowd. Many were rushing to fetch the rare ingredients or items that are in sale.

Sayomi perks and glance over. "Yes?" "You bought the watch with your money, right?" Nawin says and brings up the Nautilus worn around his wrist. A coy smirk form on the Pureblood's face by the question. "Is that mind of yours thinking I used my powers to get you that watch?" "... Did you?" "Of course not," Sayomi admits and shakes her head "I promised you I would get you that watch one day when you were older... I wasn't going to tarnish that promise by doing something so crude. Therefore, I bought that watch with my own money, my dear." Nawin smile at those words.

With Sayomi leading the way, she makes a right turn to take them down a quiet and narrow street. Nawin surveys the area, seeing both sides of the road hold tall houses that judging by their appearance seems to all have been built centuries ago, though all of them look to be taken quite good care off to make it look clean and fresh. While walking down this street, a sense of nostalgia surfaces in Nawin's mind.

Makasha's eyes widen when a fade image of his younger self appears in front of them just by a few feet. Jogging along while holding onto Sayomi's hand, he beams with a bright grin that's filled with excitement. And as quickly as that image appeared, it fades away from reality when they come to a stop.

"We're here," Sayomi asserts, and Nawin looks over at the small brown-colored building with an orange tile roof. "Judging by your eyes, this is still a bit alien?" "Yeah," Nawin admits with a strained smile. "Hey," Sayomi gives a reassuring look, "It's ok. I took you here when you were just Seven. However, I'm sure some memories will come back when you see her" "Her?" "The person that looked after me when I awoke in this town."

Nawin is stunned by that new information. He was about to comment when Sayomi brings her right arm up, knocking at the wooden door. Finding himself gulping in nervousness, Nawin looks ahead when hearing footsteps from the other end, and not long after the door slowly opens wide.

Stepping into the light, Clara adjusts the glasses that were sliding down her nose. Blinking her light-blue eyes that radiate with warmth and kindness. She gasps at the sight of Sayomi. "Hello again, Clara." The Pureblood offers a gentle smile before directing her gaze to the right. "I brought someone you've been dying to see." Clara blinks and finally takes notice of the other individual. She takes a moment to examine the young-looking man stood beside Sayomi.

Finally, it clicks, and Clara's eyes widen in disbelief before she takes a step forward. "N-Nawin?" she mutters and cups the male's cheek with both hands. "Oh, dear... Look at you! All grown up and handsome! It's really you." Nawin remains shocked for a moment before he finally finds the words to utter. "G-Grandma Clara?" "Yes, dear." The old lady smile with joy "It's me!"

Clara steps in to pull the taller boy into a hug. "I'm so glad to see you are well, dear." Nawin's expression softens at the warmth of the hug. It reminded him of the time Clara would give him a welcome embrace whenever Sayomi took him here, which was very few. He remembers her hugs were always full of warmth and care that never fails to soothe him. Nawin finds himself smiling and returns the gesture. "It's great to see you again, Grandma Clara... It's been too long." Sayomi remains quiet, arms crossed over her chest while smiling at this little reunion.

After regaining her composure, Clara guided Nawin into her house by hand while Sayomi followed from behind. "Take a seat on the couch, dear" "Thank you," Nawin politely replies and sits comfortably on the brown sofa. Clara grins and turns around to head to the kitchen, "I'll be back in a moment! I'll fetch you two delicious hot chocolate you both always love."

Sayomi chuckles while taking a seat next to Makasha. "Always nice to see her so full of joy" "Yeah..." Nawin nods in agreement. Looking around the average size room. A wave of nostalgia just hits Makasha from all sides. The room was simple, without anything crazy to show, which help produce a warm and welcome ambiance. It is a place that is fitting for someone as kind-hearted as Clara.

"... Sayomi," Nawin speaks up after a moment of pause. "Yes?" "Can you clarify what you mean back there?" The Pureblood leans backward on the couch and turns to look at Nawin in the eyes. "... I guess it is time for you to know this," she states with a heavy sigh. Nawin has his attention entirely focused on Sayomi, ready to listen.

"It's been thirty years since I was woken from my slumber. But before I tell you that. You should know how I got here... You know of Alucard reign of terror, yes?" "I was informed of it... After centuries of hard work, he was able to establish peace among all the Monster Clans then went into a slumber that lasted for centuries. When he woke up, everything that he has built was destroyed by humans that drastically grown in numbers. He rushed to his home to be greeted by ashes and dust. All of his loved ones and closest friends that he held dear were mutilated and skewered up for display. That he snapped and became the Monster, he is now known to be." Sayomi's eyes grow solemn as she gives a stiff nod. "That is true. The other Monsters betrayed the vampires and fed them to the humans while they made their escape. The humans may not hold the strength, but their numbers well made up for it, and during that time, Vampires were not what they are today. They weren't powerful. Alucard was the strongest and could have prevented that slaughter, but he wasn't there."

Seeing Sayomi getting emotional, Nawin scoots close and takes her hands into his. "Where were you in all of this?" "I was young, and my Mother took me far away and fled here. Brasov was only beginning to be built during this time. Kaizen was a fool and wanted to battle... A miracle he survived." "Wait," Nawin interject, "You said Alucard slept for centuries... How old were you when you fled with your Mother?" "That's one thing no one knows," Sayomi smiles. "In books or stories... None will mention that Alucard had a mate or offsprings because he went into slumber after establishing peace. He completed his goal and left. But the truth was he did wake up during those times once by my Mother. A young, beautiful, and curious woman who wondered around the Pureblood Castle until one day, she stumbled upon Alucard's coffin and woken him. Alucard was very hostile as he only told his closest friends of his coffin location, but my Mother quickly explained everything, and things just progress from there, and they fell in love."

Sayomi stares out the window at the beautiful sky. "Alucard kept his relationship with my Mother a secret. And shortly after Kaizen was born, he went back into the coffin after securing a safe home for my Mother and my Brother. Alucard felt he had to go back to slumber to keep his family safe. He planned to awake when Kaizen has grown old enough to be taught to defend himself. Because even though he established peace, Alucard still had enemies from many outcasts clans and didn't want to bring a risk of danger to his family. So, during the time he was asleep, my Mother gave birth to me. And when I turned ten, that's when humans started the slaughter. For a whole year, my Mother secluded me from the bloodbath. She tried to stop Kaizen, but he simply wouldn't listen and ran out to the battlefield to fight."

"When did Alucard rose?" Nawin asks, still holding onto the Pureblood's hands firmly. "A year after the war began. He awoke from slumber just a few days after the battle ended. When he snapped, he was a completely different person. When Alucard marched to that small village and slaughtered everyone. Women and children. Raining blood down the land. My Mother witnessed that from the hill where our hut was... She was heartbroken and scarred at the vicious display, knowing the man she fell in love with was gone. Alucard, the man who spend over a century to bring peace to the Monster race, was gone."

With a bitter smile, Sayomi looks up at Nawin. "Tell me, my dear. Do you think Alucard's action was justified? After the humans slaughtered all of his people and friends. Was he right to take that action?" "I..." Nawin's eyes show confliction and shift to the ground "I don't know" "If a group of devils killed Lucy, Asia, Yao, Jonathan, and all of your friends. Would you seek out revenge? Would you want to kill them and make them suffer?" "Yes, I would" "Then after killing them... What would you do?" "I don't know" "That's the difference between you and Alucard," Sayomi smile turns warmer "To me, Alucard's actions on wanting to take revenge is just. But he didn't stop. Even after massacring all of the humans that were responsible for the war. Destroying countless towns that agreed to supply the resources and army to the war. Alucard didn't stop... He continued to reign terror to the innocence that no involvement in the war. They were simply trying to live their life. Innocent children that had a bright future ahead of them mutilated and burnt to ashes for nothing. Alucard was blinded by rage and wanted the entire human race to perish. Would you go that far, my dear?" "No. I would never kill or hurt the innocent."

Sayomi smile and nod. "For half a year, I watched Alucard reign of terror continue before the Devils and Angels stepped in to fight. To stop the madness by temporarily joining alliances." "Fallen Angels didn't exist back then yet, right?" "Correct. The Angels number back then dwarfs the numbers they have now. When the Satans and God sealed Alucard away, that ending his reign. My Mother and I merely wondered around the earth for years until she decided for us to go to slumber. My Mother wanted a better life for me. The scar Alucard left would be felt for centuries, and she didn't want to be part of it." "That's when you fled to Brasov?" "Yes, as I said, it was only beginning to be built. Mother thought it was a fitting place, so when we woke up. This place would be our home. She created two coffins and set mine inside a cave hidden behind a small waterfall. And for centuries, I've been in there slumbering. For so long, I was asleep that my body started to grow smaller because of the lack of blood I had. Truthfully, I think that's how I gained anemia. The length my Mother and I slumbered was too long, but there's not much we can do about that. Both of us were mentally exhausted after everything and didn't have the will to wake ourselves up. We woke up when our hunger was just too great."

"You said you grow smaller," Nawin repeat. "Did you get younger? Was that why when I met you that night, you were still in your teens?" "Yes," Sayomi nod. "When I entered that coffin back then, my appearance matches what I am now. When Clara found me, I was a mere skinny child. I would have died out there in the cold if it wasn't for her as I woke up in a snowy season."

"And it was heavy snow." The couple turns to see Clara entering the room with a tray holding three steaming cups, she greets them with a smile and walks forward to set the tray on the table. "Grandma," Nawin speaks as the old lady takes a seat on the rocking chair, "You know that Sayomi is a Vampire?" "Yes. I took her in after finding her collapsed in the snow by the town's main square. I fed her normal food such as soup and special curry, but those only got her so far. Then one day, while I was preparing a chicken stew. A live chicken was in a change in the kitchen, I headed upstairs to change clothes as I got back from the market, and when I returned to the kitchen... I saw Sayomi there holding the dead chicken with her fangs sunk into its flesh, sucking its blood. That when I found out that she's a Vampire." "Why didn't you tell her that you needed blood?" Nawin asks, turning to the Pureblood, "I didn't because I couldn't, my dear. Even with being fed food, I wasn't recovering at a normal rate, so ability like speaking was still beyond my capacity, only after that incident in the kitchen was I able to speak to Clara for the first time."

A moment of silence falls as Nawin and Sayomi takes a sip of the cup of chocolate. "Wow," Nawin smiles and looks up at Clara, "This taste exactly as I remember, Grandma. Delicious." "Ahaha, I'm so glad to hear that, dear!" Sayomi set the cup down and chuckles, "No one makes hot chocolate milk like you, Clara." "Oh," the old lady waves her hand "You two are giving me too much praise here!"

Setting his cup down, Nawin sits straight and turns to Sayomi. "So, you've been in Grandma's care ever since that day?" "Yes. She looked after me for years. Clara works in an orphanage, so she was well equipped. Although even with my appearance being that of a child, my mind remained mature, so I was able to take care of myself quite well after getting adjusted to the modern time." "And your Mother?" Nawin asks, noticing the woman has been left out for a while in the story. "She did appear through that door," Sayomi speaks and stare at the front door of Clara's house. "Five years later, after my rose did, she came and took me after thanking Clara. We traveled around the globe, exploring this entirely new world of technology we have never seen before. Seeing how far humanity has advanced and how they have all but forgotten about Monsters and the Supernatural World. That knowledge was lost in time as Monsters, and the beings from the Three Factions either hid in the shadows or resides in their own world."

"And soon, your travels took you to Kuoh?" "Yes," Sayomi picks up the cup to take another sip. She pushes it back and warmly smiles, "And that's where I met you, my dear." Nawin returns the smile though it falters for a moment as another question arises from his mind. "Your Mother's name was Satomi, right?" "... Yes, Satomi Valhell. You always fondly called her Aunty Satomi" "Yes, I have some recollections of her... Where is she, Sayomi?" Sayomi's eyes grow heavy as she set the cup down. Clara looks at the Pureblood with sadness. "She's passed away, my dear." Nawin hung his head low. "What happened?" he simply asks, "Anemia... That long slumber damaged her body beyond healing. She was never the same after that. She... She was in borrowed time and knew she wouldn't be around for as long as she would have liked."

"I'm sorry." Those words left Nawin's mouth as he finally looks up and sees Sayomi wearing a faint smile. "Thank you, my dear. You don't have to worry. I've come to terms with that. In the end, my Mother died with a smile on her face before she vanishes into dust. She was glad that I met you... You made her passing easier for her because she knew how happy you made me. And... You made her passing easier for me by being there for me."

Nawin carries a warm smile then leans forward to touch foreheads with Sayomi, who is surprised at first before closing her eyes and accept the special gesture shared between them.

Underworld

A sound of a bell rings inside the massive crater that once was a peaceful village of Clayneo. A figure dress in a black coat with red roses shoots up from the edge and lands on the ground outside the pit. "That cheeky bastard got away!" A slender hand with a red bell wristband pulls their hood down to reveal Kitomi. The white-haired Nekoshou frown in annoyance as she gazes at her Partner, who is seated on a boulder while looking over with tranquil violet color eyes.

"You were facing a Dimension Lost wielder... I warned you that he would hold tricks under his sleeves" "I got that! Why didn't you step in while I was trapped in that mist! You could have stopped that coward from escaping!" Kitomi childish comment, stomping her feet to the ground with enough force to shatter the earth. The brown-haired woman remains indifference. "Georg is your target, Kitomi. Mine is the Welsh Dragon. Furthermore, you requested me not to get involved."

Kitomi crosses her arms and glares at the other individual. With nothing left to add in this conversation, the brown-haired woman stands up and hops off the boulder to land in front of the Nekoshou. "If you are done being childish. I want to move on." Kitomi uncrosses her arms and exhales away the tension, not finding it worth arguing with her stoic Partner. "Whatever... Where are we going?" The other woman gazes up to the murky sky, "We'll go on our separate ways for now."

Blinking in surprise, Kitomi cross arms behind her head, the white cat ears flicker. "Rare of us to separate... Is there a personal matter you need to attend to, Partner?" "Yes." The brown-haired woman turns around and begins walking. "There's someone I have to meet. When I'm done with my business, I'll come find you, Kitomi... Don't wreak havoc while I'm away," "Kukuku. No promises~" the Nekoshou sings with a devilish grin.

Brasov

"Oh, my," Pressing a hand over her chest, Clara stares at the photo held on her other hand with the biggest and brightest smile that could muster on her face. Stood on the side, Sayomi bears a warm expression while looking at the picture of her and Nawin in the altar that was taken yesterday. She has given a copy of it to Clara.

"Look at you two... Simply perfect for one another." Even though those words brings a smile to Sayomi's face, it falters promptly after. She walks past the rocking chair, pausing by the window to look at the empty street. "Clara, I promised you that I would bring Nawin here when I could." "Always one to keep her promises," Clara fondly states before looking up at the Pureblood.

Sayomi's expression shifts to sharp and cold, losing that warmth. "Clara, this stop will be the last for a long while. That photo I gave you is a parting gift." Clara did not look surprised as she quietly looks down at the picture with sadness. She knew this was coming when Sayomi wore that serious expression. A sight she rarely carries in this house. "Seeing you here with Nawin made me believe things were back to normal for the two of you. I'm sad to see that isn't the case." "I am in borrowed time with him, Clara," Sayomi state, the sorrow in those words did not go unmissed. "I have made myself known to the Supernatural World, and as days go by, more will hear the words 'Pureblood Vampire,' and that will strike fear in many hearts. I will be followed by many powerful foes. Me being with Nawin will put him in grave danger, that goes the same for you. And If words start to spread that he is associated with me, it'll put him in a complicated position."

"You aren't like your Father, Sayomi," Clara says with conviction, "You're not a Monster." The Pureblood glance back with a bitter smile plastered on her face. "But there's a chance I can be, Clara... Alucard lost himself after witnessing his kingdom destroyed, and his people slaughtered. If I lose Nawin... I can't guarantee that I won't become like Alucard." Sayomi turns around to face Clara. "Losing that boy... I would lose my sanity."

Sayomi looks up and sees Nawin stood by the stairway. He looks down at her with an unreadable expression while she responds with a solemn smile. "My dear, you should say goodbye to Clara. We've hung around here long enough. Staying any longer may attract unwanted attention." Descending the stairs, Nawin remains silent as he passed the Pureblood. Clara sets the photo on the table then slowly stands up, beaming at the incoming boy.

"Don't look so sad, dear," Clara whispers and embraces Makasha. "I'm certain everything will be fine in the end." Nawin brings his arms up to return the gesture and wordlessly nods. Pulling back, Clara takes Makasha's right hand then turns to the Pureblood. "Sayomi, dear, please come over here." When she is in reach, Clara gently takes Sayomi's hand. With a bright grin, she draws the couple's hands together, intertwining them. "The next time I see both of you, I want a beautiful gold ring to be worn in those hands with a letter inviting me to a wedding. I'll stay alive until that day comes."

Those words stun the pair and cause them to glance at one another. "Well," Sayomi smiles. "We made a promise for that day to come and so far... We tend to complete our promises, right, my dear?" Nawin's expression softens, and he finally conjures a smile. "Yeah. For now, just wait, Grandma Clara. We'll be back."

After saying their last goodbyes to Clara. Sayomi and Nawin headed out of town to stop by a cliff that displays the full view of Brasov. The couple has not uttered a word since leaving Clara's house but knew in each other's mind they wanted to see this beautiful view before departing. In their hearts, both knew it will be a long time until they return here.

"... I lied to her." Nawin takes his eyes away from the breathtaking view and shifts to Sayomi. "Pardon?" "We tend to complete our promises... Unlike you, my dear. I have failed to keep one. One that was aimed for me and it was the most important one." Sayomi closes her eyes for a moment to hide that look of regret before reopening them, glancing over at Nawin. "I failed to keep you away from the Supernatural World. I promised that I would shelter you away from that dangerous world and couldn't follow through it. It's one of my biggest regret in life."

A howling breeze blow passes the couple. Nawin shifts his sight back to the view ahead. "We were separated, Sayomi. You couldn't be there to prevent Raynare from killing me that day. However, knowing that you made such a promise brings me joy... You always looked after me, and the extent you'd go through to keep me happy and safe is something no matter what I do, I can never repay it." Tracing the silver lock hanging from the side behind her ear, Sayomi smile at the kind words. "You don't have to worry about ever repaying, my dear. All you have to do to make me content is to stay healthy and alive. That's all I ask for a return."

"Now that I brought her up. I wanted to ask why you recruited Raynare?" Nawin questions, "What she did to me... I'd assume you would have liked her to stay dead." Sayomi chuckles and looks up at the clear sky. "In truth. I brought her back to life as a Vampire to make her suffer for all eternity. Have a servant of mine torture her until I see fit." Nawin can't help but grimace at that. "But when I looked into her eyes after reviving her... I saw a bit of myself in her. Even though her ways of expressing it was ludicrous. That girl does love you, Nawin. Her abusive past from her Older Sister changed her. I actually pity her a bit" "That's why you spared her?" "No. I spared her because there's a use for her. She would not hesitate to betray me if I were to kill you."

Nawin's breathing hitch at those shocking words. His eyes lock toward the Pureblood, who remain fixated on the sky. "She had room to grow strong, and her affection for you is even stronger. I want a person that values your life like that to be my second-in-command. Because if I can't be there to keep the other members away from you, then she'll take care of that, which leaves me without needing to worry. Raynare will remain loyal to me as long as I don't kill you. She does hold genuine respect and gratitude towards me." "Does she know the truth about your past?" "No, but I believe she's beginning to suspect that I don't honestly want to harm you. She has witnessed me diverting Schynzel's and Kaizen's attention away from you multiples time."

Taking a breath of fresh air, Sayomi closes her eyes for a second and reopens them. "Am I really worth all of this, Sayomi?" Nawin softly asks, "The length you're going through... Even though we've been separated for years. You-" "I still love you," Sayomi cuts in with a firm conviction in those words, surprising Makasha. "That's never going to change. You are my world, Nawin. When I awoke here... I considered it a second chance in life. But even though I met Clara... Even though I was reunited with my Mother and get to live peacefully with her. I always felt empty, felt alien in this timeline. I felt like I cheated on my certain death. In my heart, I thought I should have died along with my Kin during that bloody war. Instead of running, I should have stayed and fought, dying as a warrior that tried to protect her race. But I ran and escaped not only that battle but that period entirely. When I met you," Sayomi's lip form a beautiful smile filled with fondness. "That hollow feeling in my heart vanished on that night when I saved you and gazed upon your innocent face. You made those thoughts and doubt go away, my dear. You helped me appreciate this new world. And you made all those centuries of slumber I went through worth it. I would not change anything if it means I get to meet you at that faithful night."

Hearing a sound from her left, Sayomi opens her eyes and glance over to see Nawin has his head hung low. Tears are dripping down his glossy brown eyes. His lip quivers. Without a word, Sayomi pulls him into a warm embrace. Nawin cracks and quietly cries. He lifts his arms and firmly hugs the Pureblood.

Gently stroking the back of the boy's head, Sayomi rests her chin on his shoulder. "Why are you crying, my dear?" she asks in a gentle tone. "I-I don't want us to be separated again," Nawin reveals through the tears. "Even though I know it has to h-happen. T-that I won't b-be able to change your mind... I badly wish it wasn't the case, Sayomi!" Holding tighter onto Makasha, the Pureblood's lip trembles ever slightly, but she remains composed. "Sometimes I forget your still just a boy," Sayomi whispers, "I know it'll be hard, my dear. But, remember when everything is over... When there's no need for us to worry anymore of the enemies that lurk in the shadows. We can be together again without worry, like in the past."

When the tears are dried out, and his emotion settled, Nawin stares up at the sky with a new fire in his eyes. "I'll get stronger, Sayomi," he proclaims and pulls back to look at her. "No matter what, I'll become stronger, so you won't have to worry. I'll fight for that day when both of us can be together without danger looming around us."

Time Skip: Kuoh

"... Misako, you love Nawin-kun, don't you?" "P-pardon?!" The Bishop drops the pencil in her hand in shock by the abrupt question from Akame. Since leaving school and now resting in the Ichiru's household. Both girls have kept quiet while doing their homework. Misako didn't speak much when she noticed how Akame seems to be rooted in thought for the entire day. For her to suddenly bring up such a question that's related to a topic that the two rarely discussed with one another, it was beyond startling.

"I-I mean..." A blush creeps toward Misako's cheeks as she gazes down on the wooden table. "Yes. I do love Nawin-kun. B-but, why are you asking this, Akame-chan?" "I wanted to know how loyal you are to him... Will you always be there for him?" "Of course." Akame is surprised by the swift reply. She looks away from her book and to Misako to see that sharp look in those sapphire-color eyes.

"I am where I am because of Nawin-kun. I owe him this happiness I have right now. I owe him this healthy life I have right now. All the wonderful friends I have made wouldn't be feasible if it weren't for him. Like you, Akame-chan, he has done much for me. I'll follow him anywhere. That being out of appreciation or out of love."

Hearing those passionate words brings a significant relief in the Knight's heart. A smile makes its way on Akame's lip. "That is good to hear." Knowing Misako holds the same amount of loyalty towards Nawin as her. Akame's worry subside. In truth, Sayomi's words from last night still haunted her. 'I see he is walking down a path that'll be full of hardship and will force him to make tough decisions... Decisions that will shine a bad light on him even though his intention is good. Through all of that, he will need people he can fully trust by his side. People that'll walk with him and shine light in his world, so he won't lose sight.' Those words stuck with Akame because, in her heart, she knows all of that can be true. She can see Nawin walking down a path that'll cause friction in the group. Even though his intention is pure. If he ever walks down that path, he'll need people by his side to help him stay on the right course. To now have confidence that Misako will stand by his side too like her, it is soothing to know.

"Thank you... For saying those words, Misako. It's reassuring." Ichiru gives a warm smile in response. She realized that Akame knows something vital that no doubt is connected to Nawin, but she isn't one to push for an answer. She'll wait when the time comes for her to know. "It's ok. I was simply answering from my heart, Akame-chan."

Elsewhere

When Nawin and Sayomi returned to Kuoh. The Pureblood suggested that for dinner, they should cook something together. Nawin didn't complain and encouraged the idea, seeing it as a fun time for them to spend with each other. By the time the pair got back to Gray Lotus with all of the necessary ingredients, it's already evening.

"Alright." Sayomi finished tying the apron around her waist then stretches both hands out to create noticeable pop sound when cracking the joints. "Let's get started!" Stood by the side, Nawin raises an eyebrow in amusement at how serious the Pureblood is taking this. "Wait..." Sayomi blinks when spotting a bag of beef mincemeat. She turns to Nawin. "You planning on cooking some meatballs?" "... Yeah?" "Hmm, alright. Don't overdo it."

Nawin's pupils narrow as he crosses his arms. "What does that mean?" "Remember that one time that you learned how to cook meatballs after spying on me making them?" "Yeah... I add some other ingredients like spice to make it more punchy for the palette. I cooked some in secret and gave it to you. You liked them, didn't you?" "Of course, I did. They were delicious. But," Sayomi gives a pointy look, "You are forgetting what happened afterward." Nawin blinks and tries to think back. It took a moment, and his eyes snap wide.

Sayomi chuckles then tilt her head, smiling fondly. "After my glowing praise, you started cooking them every day and would surprise me with them. For a week straight, I was eating meatballs." "You... You could have declined them." "Not exactly an easy task when you were giving me those big hopeful eyes and that adorable grin, my dear. Didn't have the heart in me to decline. Took your Father to stepped in to stop that routine of yours."

Not really having any words to reply to that. Nawin moves his eyes to the side, a bit flustered. Sayomi grins and brings her right arm up to give a gentle pet on Makasha's cheek in an affectionate manner. "It's been a while, so please do make them meatballs, my dear. In honest, I am looking forward to having them again." "Alright." Nawin smiles and nods.

With Nawin focus on his dish. Sayomi works on the main course, which will be a special Salmon dish. "You are fine with some broccoli, right?" she asks, setting the vegetable on the cutting board. "Sure. Are you still stunned over the fact I eat greens now?" Nawin asks, dropping the mince into a bowl. "Can you blame me?" Sayomi replies, grabbing the knife on the side and begins cutting "... Fine, I was a brat over vegetables" "You sure was."

Done with the broccoli, Sayomi tosses the stem to the bin and move onto creating the sauce for the Salmon. Nawin takes a glance over to see that concentrated expression on the Pureblood's face and can't help but smile. It was the same expression she would wear when she used to cook for him in the past. Being an exceptional cook like his Mother. Nawin remembered the times he would peek into the kitchen to watch Sayomi cook. She always moves with grace and confidence. Witnessing her cooking again brings a sense of warm nostalgia.

Over half an hour past and the pair are done with cooking. Now seated at the dining table, Nawin and Sayomi stare at what they've cooked. "Meatballs with tomato sauce? That's new" "Well, considering this is the first time we cooked together... I wanted to make something different." Sayomi blinks at the fact as it is indeed true. In the past, Sayomi and Yao usually handled the cooking. Nawin has tried to participate, but she would always decline his offer, fearing that the boy would hurt himself.

"I see." Sayomi smile and grabs a spoon to fish out one of the meatballs, setting it on the empty side plate. "By the way, the salmon looks great and smells great" "Ahaha, thank you. To get some nice flavor going, I made a wonderful garlic butter sauce for it. Also, I cooked the Salmon just right as you rather have it more pinkish" "Know me well, don't you?" "I know you better than most. And after our passionate night a couple of days back, I can confidently say I know pretty much everything about you, my dear" Sayomi coyly comment, and gets a blank stare in return "Not before dinner, Sayomi" "Ahahaha."

Cutting the meatball in half, Sayomi takes one of the pieces to her mouth. Nawin finds himself staring with eager. This causes a smirk to form on the Pureblood's face as she swallows. "It's delicious, my dear. Don't need to fret." "That's good to hear. Thought I might have overcooked it," "Nope. Cooked to perfection and great call on that tomato sauce. Makes the flavor much richer."

Chewing on the Salmon, Nawin is not surprised when a burst of delicious taste hits his mouth. "Good?" Sayomi asks, cutting a piece of the fish for herself "Delicious... It seems like your cooking skill has not rusted over the years" "In private time, I do still cook some of my favorite dishes from time to time. Even though I don't actually need to eat these kinds of food to survive. Cooking has become a hobby of mine."

The couple continues to eat their food while chatting about random topics or reminiscing about funny moments in the past. It wasn't long until both their plates are empty. As Nawin is taking a sip of water from the glass, Sayomi finds herself glancing over at the drawer where the brooch lies. "Nawin..." "Hmm?" Makasha hums in response as he set the glass down on the table. "Tomorrow will be the last day that I remain here."

"What?!" Nawin sits up, staring at the Pureblood in shock. "So soon?" "Soon?" Sayomi tilts her head, wearing a half-smile "My dear, I've been here for over a month as Miraya... And with me staying like this. I can't keep risking and getting you into trouble" "B-but," "Nawin... All it takes is one of your friends to spot me with you. It was fortunate for us that Akame was the one that found us, but you know others like that Gremory girl won't be the same story. I'm an enemy to them... A powerful one that will have them rush to Sirzech Lucifer if they were to recognize me."

Sayomi sees Nawin staring at the table with many emotions. His hands that are laid on the surface are clenched into fists. "There are a few things I want to do before I leave, and I'll need your help with one of them." Nawin remains silent, so Sayomi continues. "I want to meet up with Asia." Those words cause Nawin's eyes to shine and finally looks up. "W-what did you say?" "I came to regret that decision I made... I want to restore that girl's sight."

And that wraps up for this chapter. I know the ending leaves everyone wanting more, but I am going to be busier very soon with the holidays approaching. So I rather have this chapter be out now instead of pushing it back until next year for a longer chapter.

Nevertheless, I want to inform you all that the next chapter will be out somewhere in January. I want to write another chapter before the New Year, but with looking at my schedule, I'll be all over the place in the next few weeks. I'm sure you all noticed the slow updates for the last few chapters (Once again sorry, and thank you for always being patient!). The reason for that is I've been traveling a lot lately due to family business. And I still have more travels before the year ends and probably another one in early January.

So with the next chapter set to out next year in the middle of January! I want to wish all of you now a wonderful Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Honestly, this year has been one of the best, if not the best year for this book. Between the crazy turns that this story took and the amount of people voicing their support on it has been incredible. I genuinely appreciate every one of you that continues to support this story!

Next Chapter: Farewell, Ophis's Proposal
