Tapping the screen to answer the call, Lucy brings it up to her ears while drying her wet hair with a towel using the other hand. She glances out of the window to look at the backyard of the Leviathan Mansion, the area where she just finished her Evening Training. "O-Onee-chan," Lucy's motion halts, and her sharp eyes slowly widen by the sound of her younger sister's trembling tone.
"Asia?" Lucy reply in a soft tone filled with concern, "Are you ok? What's wrong?" "P-please come back home... T-the house feels so heavy and sad. Mama and Papa are quiet. Akeno-nee-chan has locked herself in her room since morning. A-and Onii-chan has not returned home. I-I don't like it. Please come back, Onee-chan." Lucy's heart wrenches by hearing her sister's depressed tone. Guilt starts to set in. Lucy grits her teeth at how she just up and left Asia to herself. She wanted to get away quickly before her emotions got the better of her and caused her to do something to Akeno that could leave her regretting.
Lucy nods to herself before uttering. "Ok, I'll be back shortly, Asia. Have you tried getting into contact with Big bro?" "I have b-but he isn't answering my text or calls." Lucy grows more worried at this news. Nawin would always set time for her and Asia no matter what. Hearing that he is even ignoring Asia was a shock. "Why isn't he answering?" Lucy finds herself muttering out loud, "I-I think he's hurt, Onee-chan" "What do you mean?" "O-oh, you wouldn't know... Yesterday, Onii-chan broke up with Akeno-nee-chan."
"... What?" Lucy whispers out in disbelief, "I-it's true. That's why Akeno-nee-chan is so depressed. She has remained in her room ever since. I-I tried speaking to her, but she never replies." Asia sniffs, sounding like she's going to break down in tears any second. "Asia," Lucy speaks in a gentle tone, "You don't have to say anymore. I'll come back shortly" "O-ok, thank you" "I'm sorry for leaving you by yourself in such a harsh time... See you soon." With that said, Lucy taps the screen to end the call.
Before the screen went to black, Lucy stares at the home screen wallpaper that displays a photo taken by Akeno. A picture of herself, Asia, and Nawin stood in front of their house. The sisters stood on each side of their brother while holding his arms individually. All three smiling brightly for the camera. The picture was taken before Asia's eyes was cursed. It still stings when seeing those vibrant emerald color eyes staring back at her. "Just what is this feeling," Lucy whispers, looking at her brother on the screen before a sudden cold and ominous chill crawl down her spine.
Shaking her head and returning the phone back into the back pocket, Lucy throws the towel onto the bed before rushing out of the room. Slamming the door shut on the way.
Kuoh: Hyoudou Household
"It was that bad, huh?" Xenovia speaks, looking across to Rias. Yuuto set cups of green tea down for four people before sitting beside his lover on the couch, placing the tray on the edge of the glass table. "Yes," Rias sighs in dishearten before peering to her left to look at Issei, who has remained silent since the Knights arrive in their home.
"If you can't get through to her right now, Buchou... Other than Nawin-kun, no one can. Perhaps it is best to give Akeno-senpai space for now," Yuuto gives his honest opinion. "No, Yuuto," Rias shakes her head. "Akeno hates being alone. Leaving her alone will only do harm to her mental state. She can't remain stuck in her room like that for long. She needs help" "Where's Nawin-senpai then," Xenovia speaks up and turns to Issei. "Weren't you looking for him? Did you find him?"
All eyes shift to the Hyoudou. "I found him," Issei chokes out before looking up to meet the gazes. "But he wasn't in a mood to talk. I-I didn't get anything out from him." "What happened?" Xenovia inquires, "Issei told me that Nawin-kun was in a rush to somewhere," Rias speaks up for her lover, "Rush to somewhere?" Yuuto tilts his head, "What could he possibly be doing right now that requires him to be in a hurry?" "That, we don't know," Rias reply with regret.
"I..." Everyone turns to Issei when hearing him speak, "I don't think Nawin is in a good place right now. When I saw him... His eyes look so lost and frustrated. He even goes as far as punched me because I was getting in his way." Xenovia and Yuuto are stunned by the fact Nawin would go as for as getting physical while Rias can only grimace, biting the nail of her thumb in frustration.
'How can in just a few days... Everything feels like it's falling apart.' Rias looks up at a picture laid next to the television. A photo of everyone stood in front of the Gremory's beach house. Taken on the last day of their beach vacation with Riser's and Sona's group. Rias's sight shifts specifically to Nawin and Akeno. The couple stood side by side, the Makasha has his arm wrapped around the Himejima's shoulder lovingly. Akeno stood sideways and has her right hand rested on Nawin's chest. Both share a bright smile for the photo. Seeing that picture just makes this whole situation seem almost unreal to the Gremory.
Xenovia leans over with fire in her yellow eyes. "What do you think we should do, Rias?" "..." Silence falls before Rias open her eyes "I want to talk to Nawin-kun." "And what will you say to him, Buchou?" Yuuto asks with a sharp expression which surprises the girls. "I'm sorry if I'm stepping out of line by saying this, but you need to consider his feeling in this matter too. Going to him and forcing him to talk may not be the right call. Issei-kun is his best friend, and he got nothing out of Nawin-kun. I think you'll fair the same, Buchou."
Rias's eyebrow twitches as raw emotions start to seep through. Her composure is cracking. "I know, Yuuto. However, I need to see him not only because Akeno but also to see if he's ok. My concern for Akeno and Nawin-kun are equally matched. Furthermore, besides Issei, none of us has seen him since that brunch we had. So much has happened..."
Elsewhere
"Thank you, it was delicious as always!" Walking out of a dessert store, Misako beams while patting her stomach. "A lovely milkshake is just the best after a taxing training! Wouldn't you agree, Akame-chan?" "Um-hmm." Misako tilts her head in confusion. Ever since, both girls met this morning for their usual training session. The Ichiru noticed how quiet her friend has been. At least more withdrawn than she usually is.
Suddenly, a thunder strike booms from a distance, which startles Misako while Akame casually glances back to see heavy rain descending from the South. "You brought an umbrella?" Akame asks, shifting to her friend to see a pink umbrella is already in hand. "Ehehe, of course! I heard it would rain this evening!" Misako giggles, and with a press on the release, the parasol pop up and spread enough to cover both of them.
Several minutes past and the heavy rain comes down on the neighborhood as thunderstrikes roar from above the dark clouds. Misako shivers a bit by the sudden shift in temperature. Hugging herself, she keeps a steady hold on the umbrella. If she were her past-self still, these strong winds would blow the parasol out of her hand without difficulty.
"It really has been gloomy lately." Misako blinks at the abrupt statement that left Akame's lip. She honestly did not know how to respond to that or wonder if she even needs to. But, in Misako's heart. She can coincide with those words. In truth, the past few days, there has been this small part of her heart that's been feeling uneased. And a person emerges in her mind when she digs deep into this uneased feeling. "Um, Akame-chan?" Misako hesitantly speaks out, her eyes examining the wet pavement. "Yes?" "Have you been in contact with Nawin-kun?" "... No, not since the brunch we had in Grand Sedo Hotel" "Oh... I see."
The pair continues on in silence. When the light turns green, Akame and Misako quickly cross over the road. "... Uh!" the Knight blinks when her friend just suddenly stops. She looks over to notice Misako staring ahead with wide eyes, her mouth slightly opened. Shifting her sight forward, Akame release a soft gasp.
Stood in front of Shinko Park like a stone is their King, Nawin Makasha. Soaked from head to toe by the rain. He stares up at the dark sky with empty eyes. "Nawin-kun!" Akame blinks when Misako leave her side and rushes towards the Makasha. Instead of moving too, Akame simply watches even as the rain hit her, her eyes remain on Nawin. She watches him move those blank brown eyes to Misako and give a smile that's utterly empty of his usual warmth.
Akame's hands clench into fists as rage boils in her heart. Seeing Nawin in such a state hurts the Knight more than words can express. "N-Nawin-kun!" Misako stops in front and immediately brings the umbrella up to shield her friend from the rain. "What are you doing out in the rain like this?!" Misako shouts with anger and worry. "Sorry," Nawin simply reply with that faint and empty smile. Akame stops beside the shock Ichiru and takes Nawin's right hand into hers. "Come now," she utters as those brown eyes shift to her red orbs "Let's take you to Misako's place to dry up."
Misako wanted to speak to get answers, but with the look Akame gave, she goes quiet and simply nods. With that, the girls escort Nawin to the Ichiru's household. Getting him out of the cold and heavy rain.
"... Sorry for leaving you out in the rain like that, Akame-chan," Misako bows her head to apologies to the Knight. Seated at the low table, in the living room, Akame rubs her wet hair with a towel Misako gave. She has changed from her wet clothes and now dons one of Misako's Pikachu pajamas. "It is fine," Akame replies with a reassuring smile and rest the towel on her thighs "You rushed to Nawin-kun's side. I'm not in the slightest mad." Misako beams in relief and relaxes, taking a seat next to her friend.
Silence falls in the room as both Misako and Akame are enveloped in their own thoughts. Both worry for their dear friend. Wondering why they found him in such a state in the rain. The image of him looking so lost and alone is still visible in their mind, and it makes their hearts ache.
The door behind slides open, and the girls glance back to see Nawin stepping into the room with fresh clothes he'd save in his pocket dimension. Plain gray t-shirt and black combat trousers. "Thanks for allowing me to use the showers, Misako" Nawin state with a faint smile "N-no problem, Nawin-kun" Misako squeak out, not sure how to respond properly towards her friend at the moment.
Akame's eyes remain firm on her King and watch him take a seat across of them. He looks to be in better shape now compared to when they found him. "Nawin-kun," she speaks up to gain his attention. "Why were you out in the rain like that?" "..." Akame's hands clench on the towel at even the thought of saying that name "Is it because of your breakup with Akeno Himejima?" "P-pardon?!" Misako gasp in complete shock at this information being dropped out of nowhere. Nawin's eyes slightly widen. Taken aback by Akame being aware of this fact.
"Well..." Nawin wears a strained smile as his eyes shift to his hands resting on the table, "That does play a part in making these past few days for me being bad." "Nawin-kun," Misako whispers with sadness, "I-I'm sorry," "Don't be," Nawin shakes his head and looks up, "I think it's for the best... Right now, both of us need space. Our relationship was getting toxic."
Nawin sees Akame's eyes start gleaming with fiery rage, her entire expression sharpens. He sends her a soft smile. "Don't be angry at Akeno, Akame" "But," "Please... Don't stress yourself over it. It's done." Akame's posture eases as her eyes dim to normal. She nods, "I understand." Akame notice Nawin's eyes shift to his watch. The Patek Philippe gifted to him by Miraya. "What were you going to do before we found you, Nawin-kun?" "Head to Gray Lotus... There's something I need to discuss with Miraya."
Misako taps her index fingers together and hesitantly speaks up. "A-are going to talk about the Supernatural world to her?" Nawin's eyes slightly widen before it lowers to blank. "Yeah... Something like that," he mindlessly whispers. That reply brings more concern in the air. Akame opens her mouth. "Nawin-kun... You aren't in the right state of mind. You do realize this decision can put Miraya in danger for the future?" "Let me worry about that, Akame" "... Are you planning on having her join your peerage?" Akame's question has Misako looks at the Makasha with anticipation.
Nawin gives a faint smirk before standing up and walks toward the door, sliding it open. "I hope..." With those words uttered, Nawin exits and pushes the door shut behind him. "Take my umbrella with you, Nawin-kun!" Misako shouts out when seeing the rain hasn't let up yet through the windows. No response was given, and the Ichiru was about to get up, but Akame grabs her by the arm. "He heard you, Misako."
The pink-haired girl releases a dejected sigh and plops back down beside her friend. "Are you sure we shouldn't go with him, Akame-chan?" Miraya looks over to see the Knight staring intently at the door where Nawin just left. "We would only be in the way. If he wants to recruit Miraya, then it's a personal goal that involves only the two of them."
Makasha Household
"What the hell is going on?!" Lucy's hand stops inches from the front doorknob, her eyes widen by the sound of her godfather's voice booming from inside the house. 'He's here?' When rushing to the front door to stop herself from being drenched in the rain, Lucy did not sense the Fallen Angel's magic signature. 'Must be concealing it well. Even in this distance, I still can't pinpoint his mana.'
"Don't yell at me!" Yao's voice booms, "Then tell me what the hell is happening! Why did Nawin visit me in such a rough state?! The boy looked so lost that if you saw him, you'd be crying!" Lucy finds herself frozen in place by this news. 'W-what's going on?' "He visited you?" "Yes! Of course, he did! Since he clearly can't trust his parents at the moment" "Azazel," Jonathan's calm but piercing voice surfaces, "Calm down... Lucy, you can come in."
Lucy is startled by abruptly getting called out. Shaking her head to regain composure, she grabs the doorknob and twists it, entering the house. When stepping into the living room, Lucy sees her Mother seated on one of the couches with her father stood on the edge. Azazel is seated across and facing both Yao and Jonathan.
"What is this?" Lucy speaks with harden expression. "Lucy," Yao gives her daughter a gentle look, "Please go upstai-" "No," the Mother is shocked at being cut off. "I heard what Azazel said. What's going on with Big bro?!" "Lucy," Jonathan speaks but only sees his daughter's expression sharpens. "Don't Lucy me!" the blonde teenager snaps, her anger rising. "Earlier, I got off the phone with Asia and learned that yesterday Big Bro and Akeno broke up! So I rushed back here, and now there's something more?! The hell is going on in this family?!"
Yao is shocked by her daughter's outburst and is about to reply until Lucy shifts to Azazel. "Oldman, where's my brother?" "I don't know of his whereabouts. He's gone dark, so finding him is challenging, even for myself." Lucy takes a step forward and pushes on for more information. "Why did he visit you?" "... He wanted my he-" "Azazel," Yao cuts in with a sharp tone.
Azazel gives a disapproving glance toward his surrogate daughter, but Yao remains cold. 'Just what are you covering, Yao. Is it so vital that you won't tell even me? And go as far as not wanting to reveal an ounce of information to your daughter.' Lucy doesn't back down and glares while taking another step forward. "What are you hiding?! It involves my brother, and right now, he's in a bad place. So why are you hiding it from me?!" "Lucy," Yao shift to look at her daughter "This doesn't concern you," "This is about my brother!" Lucy retorts loudly, "Why did Azazel say he is in rough shape?! What happened while I was gone?!"
Yao stands up and glares back at her daughter. "LUCY MAKASHA, I WA-" "PLEASE STOP!" Everyone freezes and turns to the hallway to see Asia standing there with tears dripping down her close eyes. Asia cries then brings her arms up to try to wipe the tears, but it keeps flowing. "P-please no more! No more shouting! I-I can't take it a-anymore!" she begs in a crackling voice. Everyone in the room instantly loses all their anger when seeing the frail blonde.
Asia dropped to her knees and continues to cry. "Asia!" Lucy immediately appears by her sister's side and pulls her into a hug. Yao stood frozen in place as she watches her dear daughter crying on the floor. Because of her, this happened.
Jonathan remains calm and kneels on the other side of Asia, wearing a warm smile. "Come now," he offers a hand to Lucy, "Let's take your sister upstairs." Lucy slowly pulls back to look at her father. Seeing his ever-warm smile and caring eyes set her at ease. She couldn't be mad at him. With a nod, Lucy moves back to stand up, which allows Jonathan to pick Asia up and carry her on his arms. "I'm sorry for all the yelling, Asia," he softly whispers and gives a kiss to his daughter's forehead before departing from the living room with Lucy.
When reaching to the second floor, Lucy stops following and finds herself steering her gaze to the right. The door leading to Nawin's room remained shut. Even with all of the shouting that just transpired, Akeno still refuses to leave the room. "I have tried talking to her, but to no avail." Lucy turns to her father to see him standing by the doorway to Asia's room. He looks at her with a solemn smile. "Sadly, there's not much we can do for Akeno right now. All we can do is give her time until she is ready."
With nothing more to say on the matter, Jonathan enters Asia's room while Lucy shifts back to her brother's room. With her hands clench into fists, she marches forward and stops in front of the door. "Akeno," Lucy speaks in a moderate voice, knowing the Himejima can easily listen, "I am still mad at what you tried to do to Miraya... But, I'm sorry for hitting you, and I'm sorry for what happened between you and my brother."
Lucy takes a step back, but she pauses and looks up at the door. She can almost feel Akeno's gaze from the other side. "To tell you the truth, when Miraya returned to our life... A part of me wanted her and my brother to become a couple once more. To me, Miraya was perfect for my brother. She gives him joy that no one else can. But I soon realized that it was selfish of me to wish for that. I took you for granted. Akeno, you have done well by my brother's side. You were able to shine light in his world. You helped him create many fond memories. And most important... you were able to make him fall in love again. Even with the mistakes you've recently made. Don't forget just how much good you've done for him and this family, Akeno."
Lucy steps back and turns, but before she leaves for Asia's room, she spares one more glance over. "Don't let this breakup destroy you, Akeno. If you truly love my brother. If you genuinely cherished all the moments, you had with him and want badly to build more on them... Then face your mistakes and improve so you won't repeat it again. When you feel like you've truly changed. Go meet my brother. Until then, stay away from him for both your sakes."
Yao collapses back on the couch then buries her face on the palms of her hands in frustration. Azazel simply stares at her in silence. "Was that worth it?" "Don't," Yao spat out with such anger that it alerts the Fallen Angel. He sometimes forgets that the person seated across from him was once the most feared woman in all of the supernatural world.
"Don't start belittling me," Yao lift her head up to look at Azazel with piercing eyes "You have no idea what this family has been through, Azazel. I was put between a rock and a hard place and had to make a decision to help my son... My precious son was so hurt and in pain that I thought I'll never see a loving smile from him again." Azazel's expression softens when seeing a single tear drop down the Mother's eyes.
"Yao," Azazel speaks up in a gentle tone, "I push because I'm worried for Nawin. There's something that I learned from him that has me uneased, and it involves his connections with Sayomi Dracul..." Yao does not give a response and simply shifts her gaze down to the table. "Please, Yao," Azazel begs and leans forward. "At least tell me just why Nawin has a connection with this dangerous Pureblood Vampire. Assure me that this isn't something that'll harm him."
Yao lets out a hollow chuckle and shifts her eyes to the hallway. "She tried to harm him, but she could never fully bring herself to hurt him truly. If Sayomi Dracul wanted my son dead... He'd be gone a long time ago" "Why?" Is all Azazel asks, and Yao turns to look at him in the eyes, "Because Nawin is precious to her... He is her first love." Azazel froze in place by this shocking revelation that left him in a lost for word.
Elsewhere
Exiting at the bus stop, Nawin looks out to the wet and empty streets. The heavy rain is finally beginning to pass, and what remains now is light showers. Holding Misako's umbrella in his right hand, Nawin brings it up and presses the button to release it. With his left-hand rest in his jean's pocket, Nawin walks down the steps and heads East to Gray Lotus.
Nawin could have teleported there as he has placed a seal in the Motel in case of an emergency situation that required him to be there swiftly. But, doing that will cause his mana to spike, which means leaving himself visible for a few seconds. Right now, Nawin simply wanted to be alone. Amidst his encounter with Issei earlier, he had no doubt that Rias would be wanting to search for him. He didn't need her or any other members in the group getting in his way at this moment.
Taking a right turn, Nawin simply let his feet guide him as his mind is elsewhere. Thoughts upon thoughts race through his head at what he found in that box. Memories that he had never known came back like a violent storm that leaves him in a state of disbelief. 'I need to kn-' Nawin halts, as he snaps back to reality as a number of magic signatures enter his range.
Exhaling deeply in annoyance, Nawin turns around and sees Rias, Issei, Xenovia, and Yuuto stood with their umbrellas. What's noticeable is that they decided to keep a fair distance from him. "Nawin-kun," Rias calls out, stepping forward. "I'm going to make this clear," Nawin speaks in a straightforward tone that matches with his sharp eyes "If your purpose of finding me is to talk about the breakup, then just leave. I don't need to explain myself to any of you. I thought I made myself clear with Issei." Nawin shifts sight to his best friend, who flinches and looks down to the ground.
Xenovia and Yuuto are surprised by the blunt words while Rias remain calm. "Nawin-kun... I understand that you are angry over this," Nawin sighs once more and turns around "You don't understand anything. Just leave me to myself. All of you are simply getting in my way." Nawin stops when Yuuto appears in front of him. "Nawin-kun," the Knight speaks in his ever soft-spoken tone, "We are worried for you. We don't want you to end up doing something reckless."
"Doing something reckless?" Nawin repeat with a frown, "Sounds like all of you don't have much trust in me." Those words stunned everyone and left them speechless for a moment. Nawin continues and walks pass Yuuto. "You all really disappoint me. Came here to check up on me because you worry, I would do something reckless? And what else? Want me to reconsider my actions with the breakup? None of you are in my shoes. So, stay the fuck out of my way and stop trying to insert yourselves in my personal affairs."
Gritting his teeth and clenching his hands in frustration, Issei breaks off into a sprint and passes Yuuto before grabbing Nawin by the shoulder. Halting again, the Makasha slowly glances back, and his eyes are now glowing red with evident annoyance. Issei remains strong and stares back at those intimidating eyes. "You are doing something important, aren't you, Nawin?" "..." "Let me help. Let us help to make things easier for you."
"... It's not something you or the others can help with. This is my problem, Issei," Nawin state as his eyes shift back to brown "If you want to help me, then stay out of my way. That's the best thing you can do for me now." Issei looks into his friend's eyes and can see those words weren't used lightly. It was sincere without venom in them. "Alright," Issei release his hold and take a step back, he gives a smile that is forced "If that's what you want then we won't bother you. Sorry for getting in your way."
'Issei...' Rias looks at her lover with shock by his action. Nawin stares at his best friend for a moment. He knows everything that has transpired is hurting Issei and the rest of the group. But he can't focus on that right now. 'I need to know...' Nawin turns around and resumes his destination to the Gray Lotus. Issei and the rest can only watch their friend's departing figure with mix emotions in their faces.
"... Are you ok with this?" Rias asks, stopping beside her lover "... No, I want to help him. I can see he is going through a tough time, and it kills me not to know what it is," "Isn't it the breakup?" "No, Rias." Issei shakes his head "There's more. I have never seen Nawin look this conflicted before. You saw it too, right, Rias?" The Gremory's nod solemnly and looks ahead to a now deserted street. Her turquoise color eyes show great concern and sadness. 'What's happening to you, Nawin-kun?'
Time Skip
When he arrives in front of the Gray Lotus Motel, Nawin pulls the umbrella down and folds it to its base form. The rain has just stopped, and the clouds begin to clear to reveal the empty night sky. Swiftly discarding the umbrella to the pocket dimension, Nawin's brown orbs gaze up at the building. Many emotions reflect in those orbs that it is impossible to describe.
With a shaky breath exhaled, Nawin heads for the stairs to ascend to the second floor. Each step he takes to get closer to that door, Nawin feels his body getting heavier. His heart beats faster, and his breath shorten. Before he even knows it, he finds himself standing in front of the door with his right-hand rest on the handle.
Twisting it, Nawin sees it is unlocked. He pushes the door open and enters the room. Nawin gently shuts the door behind and takes care to lock it. "Darling?" Those words greet his ears, and he finally looks up to see Miraya seated on the bed with a book in her hand, she looks at him with that loving smile. Though, her smile falters when the only response she gets is the cold look in Nawin's eyes.
Miraya set the book down and slowly pushes herself off the bed to stand up. "What's wr-" "Please," Nawin cuts in a low tone, hanging his head down to have the front bangs conceal his eyes "Just stop... You have to stop." Slowly, the Culdos's eyes grow in realization. Her hands clench into fists as a sorrowful smile spread across her face. "You remember?" Nawin gives a small nod as he leans back on the door, "Everything... But there is one thing I have to see with my own eyes to believe."
Miraya takes a step forward. "Don't," Nawin utters out through his gritting teeth, "Please don't make it any harder for me. I need to see it... I can't take any more secrets." Miraya holds her chest and gives a single nod, "Alright." With her eyes closed, blinding lights suddenly explodes around Miraya. A single teardrop falls from Nawin's eyes when he sees the light reflecting on the floor.
In the light, Miraya starts to change. Her facial structure sharpens, her body grows in height and adopts a more refined figure, her skin shift to a paler complexion, and her hair starts to radiate in silver. When the light dies down and disappears, Nawin finally lifts his eyes up, and what he sees causes a hollow smile to form on his lip. "Sayomi..." The Pureblood Vampire stare back at Nawin with a soft smile that holds many emotions.
Sayomi opens her mouth to speak but stops when Nawin reaches into his trousers' pocket to pull out a letter with a photo. "You wrote this?" he utters and tosses it forward to have them drop to the carpet. Sayomi looks down at the photo, which shows her in the midst of transforming to Miraya. The latter laid beside it has short but clear words written on it. 'Sayomi Dracul. Miraya Culdos.' Different names, but both held matching letters in them.
"How fucking creative of you," Nawin spat with a dry chuckle, "When I saw both your names side by side... It just clicked." "Nawin," "W-why," tears begin dripping down the Makasha's glossy eyes. He tried to hold it in, but it proves impossible. "I-I thought when I got my memories back... Everything would be clear, but when I saw that photo and letter, i-it just makes things even complicated. W-why, Sayomi? I-I have no recollection of this! How... HOW CAN YOU AND MIRAYA BE THE SAME PERSON?!"
Sayomi's heart wretch in pain when seeing the rough state Nawin is in. He looks so confused and conflicted. She thought she'd be prepared for this, but that is not the case. Right now, she can only give the truth to help him. "You asked why? The answer is simple, my dear." Nawin looks up to see that warm smile on the Dracul's face "I did it to protect you." Nawin's eyes widen as a single tear drop down Sayomi's cheek. "It was honestly a shameful thing I did." Sayomi releases a weak chuckle "A Pureblood such as myself used a sacred technique that only exceptional individuals of our race can obtain. An ability that allows us to entirely changed our appearance. Create an individual and become them. A technique that's only to be used if our race were to face extinction. It can only be used once and," Sayomi looks at Nawin in the eyes "I-I used it to stay with a special young boy I met in a forest that night. An adorable and precious young boy that I saved and slowly began to grow fond of."
"W-why?" Nawin chokes through the tears, "Why did you have to g-go that far? W-why become Miraya?" "Staying with you for the long term in my true form brought numerous dangers to you. Countless times, I had to protect you from the supernatural beings that lurked in the shadows. One day I had enough and made up my mind to create Miraya. A different persona that will be entirely human, it was a choice that I can't go back if I were to go through with it. When Miraya Culdos is created, I can't change it. She will be the person that'll be with you when I decide I had to go into hiding."
"Y-you are Miraya..." Nawin whispers once more, still in disbelief. "I loved her... I-I loved you!" he cries out, "I remember everything about you, Sayomi. How you always looked after me. Played with me. Taught me. And cared for me. You were always there. B-but when you weren't... it was Miraya," Nawin looks down at his watch "It was always her that was there to brighten my day. W-when I had all my memories back and saw that photo and letter, I tried my hardest to remember the time when you, me, and Miraya were together. Wanting to believe this isn't real, but nothing came! Absolutely nothing! I-I never realized that..."
Nawin gulps and looks up at Sayomi through his tears. "Y-you were always there for me... Miraya was simply a skin you use to stay by my side." "Don't say that," Sayomi reply and walks forward until she stops right in front of Nawin. Taking his right hand, she lifts it up to display the beautiful watch. "Miraya is more than that to us! When I was her again and came back into your life. It honestly felt like I was falling in love with you all over again, Nawin. And it was the same for you, wasn't it?" Nawin brings his other arm up to wipe the tears before giving a small nod.
Nawin stares at the watch and remembers Miraya gifted that to him on his birthday. Shifting to Sayomi and seeing that beautiful smile plastered on her face. A smile filled with warmth and love that is exactly like Miraya's. "You love me?" Nawin whispers. Sayomi's smile grows and tilts her head, "Only you, my dear. I realized I never truly confessed to you in my true form, have I? Well, I'll say it now. I love you, Nawin Makasha."
Those words hit Nawin like a mighty wave. His heart begins beating rapidly as a noticeable blush form on his cheeks. He never realized how much he craved those words to be uttered to him by Sayomi. He never knew just how much it would mean to him. "Did you truly died that day?" Nawin finds himself asking, "I did," Sayomi answer, "I'm sorry you had to go through that, my dear. I wasn't strong enough to beat the sickness and left you alone. I'm so sorry."
Nawin shakes his head then leans forward to press foreheads with Sayomi. "After everything I've been through... I'm just glad the secrets are lifted." Sayomi wraps her arms around Nawin and lets out a few tears she tried to suppress. "I-I crave for this moment for so long, my dear," she whispers in a trembling tone. "When I discovered that your memories were tempered... I-I didn't know what to do. When I saw you turned into a Devil, I-I was so angry at myself for not being there to save you. I never wanted you to be involved in the supernatural world," Sayomi's grip tightens as more tears rain down "I-I was s-so conflicted. T-then I thought the best way to protect you is to make you hate me... Have you use your h-hatred for me to become stronger. Motivate you to ascent to the next level as quickly as possible because I knew you will be facing dangerous foes in the future."
Nawin pulls back to stare at Sayomi's tearful face in shock. She gives a weak smile. "B-but I couldn't stay on that path. Because every time I hit you... Every time I made you scream in pain... It tore me up inside so badly that I wanted to cry. T-then when we were stuck on that island, and I got to spend time with you... Everything changed, and I gave up on that path. I-I couldn't bring myself to hurt you anymore."
'... I wasn't the only one that was suffering,' Nawin carries a bitter smile. 'She was suffering just as much as me. No... She suffered worse. She knew everything while I remained clueless for so long.' Knowing all of that and seeing the glistering tears continue to flow down Sayomi's face, Nawin couldn't bear it and grip her firmly by the arms before leaning in to plant a kiss.
Sayomi's eyes snap wide at the sudden action, but it promptly closes as she leans in to deepen the kiss. After everything, she wanted this. Soon, the two pull back and simply stare at each other in silence as the only sound made is their breather. Then, they pull in once again for another passionate kiss. Nawin slides his hands down the Dracul's hourglass figure and stops on the naked supple thighs before lifting her up from the ground.
Sayomi moans and sticks her tongue in Nawin's mouth to desperately taste him as she gets drop her on the soft bed. "Nawin," she pants out after pulling back, staring at him with lust and love in her beautiful blood-red eyes. Hi everyone! I wanted to inform all of you that on Monday I'll be leaving for a short vacation with my family. So expect the next chapter to have a delay. I know after such an event that just unfolded in this chapter, for me to leave is a bit tough as many of you will be anticipating for the next chapter quickly. But, I simply need a bit of a break to recharge. This storyline was quite taxing to write as I always had to be careful with what I should reveal. There have been numbers of rewrites for the last couple of chapters along with this one, as I wanted it to be as best as possible. It all led to this reveal. So, I hope you all can stay patient!
