later in the morning, david texted me for the fifth time asking if i was coming to his house, saying that he needed to give me his present. i only said i was on my way, entering my bathroom to take a long shower. feeling my body a little sore, i spent at least fifteen minutes under the warm water, enjoying my relaxing time. i washed my body and my hair and got out of the shower after staying there for way too long. i chose my outfit, putting on my clothes to go blow-dry my hair. i didn't feel like putting makeup on, so i just went to look for my pair of vans.
david decided to call me while i sat down to play with salem for a bit, feeling like i wasn't giving her much attention, but i just declined the call, receiving another dozen of texts, not caring to look at them anymore. a few minutes later, i got a call, notifying me that carly and erin were here. "holy shit, we've been waiting for you for at least half an hour!" erin exclaimed, stepping inside when i opened the door. i was so confused at that moment.
"what are you guys doing here?" i asked, looking at carly.
"david asked us to come pick you up because you don't have a car. we tried to text you, but i guess you didn't read them." carly explained.
i shrugged. "i have a car, it's just... broken." erin raised her eyebrows. "if i knew it were you guys i would've answered, i was just enjoying some time alone before heading to david's."
"we get it, it's david. he insisted for us to come pick you up because he's pumped with your birthday present." erin said, crouched to pet salem.
"oh yeah! happy birthday!" carly hugged me, making me chuckle.
erin also wished me happy birthday before we three left. i told them everything about the party yesterday while erin drove, not mentioning the part where david and i kissed, not knowing if he wanted me to tell them or not. it was just them, but i thought it was better this way to keep private if david wanted. when we got there, we entered his house, finding that jason, matt, zac and zane were there too. "where's natalie?" i asked taking my shoes off, their attention turning to me by the door.
"you're here!" zac stood up to get closer to me, hugging me tightly. "happy birthday, beautiful girl!"
i laughed. "yeah, thanks." he pushed away, kissing my left cheek.
behind him, the others were waiting to wish me happy birthday too. after that, we sat down on the couch, david finding his way to sit beside me. "answering your question, natalie's out right now, she went to pick some stuff for me." he said, one arm around my shoulders.
everyone was now talking, not really paying attention to me, so i looked at david, leaning in to whisper in his ear. "we need to talk."
he locked his phone, his gaze meeting mine. "what is it?" his voice was low, noticing that i didn't want everyone to hear us.
"so, matt and jason are the only ones beside us that know about me and you kissing." david nodded for me to continue. "i don't know if you want to tell anyone, like natalie or carly and erin, like if you want to keep it a secret or not...''
david shrugged. "you can tell them if you want, i kissed you in front of everyone, if i didn't want you to tell them i would've done the other way." he brushed my hair behind my ear.
i smiled. "okay then." after that, natalie arrived, giving me a quick hug before rushing towards her bedroom. a few minutes later, she came back, handing david a small bag.
"give me a second." he mumbled, standing up to grab his camera on the lovesac. then, he started filming. "okay, so, we are all gathered here for something special." he filmed all of us, stopping on me.
"what the fuck is going on?" i questioned, frowning. "i knew something was up! i thought 'wow, why are all of them here?' now i know you're planning something!"
david laughed. "shut up, martis, it's nothing." he stretched his arm, handing me the little bag. "here is your present, now open it."
i whined. "is it something bad?"
"no! just open it!" david insisted, a goofy grin playing on his lips.
"then why are you filming?" i raised my eyebrows.
"just fucking open!" matt rushed me, receiving a death glare from me.
i opened the bag, finding a small red box, 'cartier' written in gold on top of it. "it's what i wanted!" i smiled, grabbing the box. "it's just a ring, are you going to propose to me?" i looked over at david opening it. instead of a ring inside it, there was a car key. "shut up." it was what i managed to say while he filmed what was inside. my heart was beating really fast and my hands were shaking so much that i almost let the box fall.
"happy birthday!" david said excitedly and everyone cheered beside me.
"i can't..." i exhaled, my eyes now burning because of a few tears.
"matt said that you were saving to buy a new car, so i decided to buy you one." he explained.
"david..." i let out.
"where is it?" erin asked.
"it's outside, wanna take a look at it?" natalie pointed to the front door. if matt didn't come by my side to hold my hand and lead me outside, i wouldn't be able to walk. my whole body was shaking. what the fuck was going on?
i gasped as soon as i saw the white range rover parked in his garage with a huge red bow on top of it. "holy fucking shit!" i exclaimed.
"it's your dream car!" zac shook my shoulders.
"i can't... david, i can't take it." i looked at him.
"well, i can." zane pretended to steal the key from my hand, making us laugh.
"of course you can, hop in!" david motioned with his head, filming everything with his camera.
still shocked with everything, i opened the front door, getting inside. david did the same, hopping in the passenger seat, putting his camera on the dashboard to film us. "this is so fancy!" i squealed, looking at the beautiful white interior. "oh my god, i hate you so much!" i said to david, feeling my eyes fill with tears. he chuckled. "this is so fucking nice." i leaned against the seat. "why did you buy me this? i don't deserve it." the back doors opened, matt, zac and zane entering the car with us.
david shook his head, sat down turned to my direction. "of course you deserve it, it's your birthday." he insisted.
i sighed. "thank you so much." i leaned in to give him a hug. "i could kiss you right now, but i would be weird since everyone is watching us." i whispered in his ear before stepping away. david grinned, filming the rest of the reaction before we went back inside.
"so..." nat trailed off, sitting by my side. "how are you feeling?"
"over the moon, like... holy shit!" i exclaimed.
"david gave the four of us a car, isn't that crazy?" carly said, pointing to me, nat, her and erin.
"yeah, i almost cried." i commented, still holding the key in my hand.
erin scoffed. "oh, i almost died crying, i've been there." we chuckled.
we continued talking, me still feeling really happy with the gift. david was crazy. we basically just met and he bought me a car as a birthday gift. i know he bought a stranger a car, but this is insane to me. i never thought someone would do that for me. i never thought i could be so happy like i was right now. david made sure to make me feel like the happiest girl in the world.
i watched as he made his way towards his room and decided to follow him inside. i put my hand on the door when he was about to close it, making him open it for me. "what's up?" he asked as i stepped in.
when david finally closed it, i didn't waste a second and wrapped my arms around his shoulder to kiss him. he was taken aback at first, but hugged my waist after, deepening the kiss. i hummed between his lips. "thank you so much." i pecked his lips, and then did it again, and again, and again.
my kisses went to his cheek and then to his entire face, earning a giggle. "it was nothing, ela, really." he answered when i stopped with my kisses. "as i said, you deserve it."
i looked at him, feeling my eyes fill with tears of happiness. "i don't." i whined, hiding my face in the crook of his neck. "it was so nice of you, dave."
he rubbed my back. "i have another present."
i looked at him. "i hope it's a snake or something bad, i don't think i can handle your cute shit another time."
david chuckled, kissing my nose. "well, your fucked, because i really wanted to take you to new york with me tomorrow so i decided to buy your plane ticket."
i widened my eyes. "david, no! you shouldn't have!" i smacked his chest. "i'll pay every cent back, you know right?"
he nodded, nuzzling his nose with mine, leaving a peck on my lips. "yeah, but you're coming with me."
my fingers played with his hair while i shook my head yes. "you already bought it so i have literally no option."
"great." david mumbled before pressing his lips against mine.
then, someone opened the door behind us, making us break the kiss to look at it. matt. "i knew you guys were together, come on angie, we have another surprise for you." he gestured for me to go outside.
"just a sec, please." i pouted.
matt nodded but stayed there by the door. i gave him a look, waiting for him to leave. "what? just a kiss him already, we really need to go!"
"do you want to join?" david asked jokingly.
i wheezed, seeing matt's face fluster. "disgusting, david." he closed the door after leaving.
we kissed one last time before we left his room, me first to not catch everyone's attention. i hugged them goodbye, david following us to the door. when we were at his garage, he stole one kiss from me, making zac gasp. "when did this happen?" he asked incredulous.
i shrugged. "last night."
"this a dream coming true!" he cheered. after telling him to keep his mouth shut, i pecked david's lips for the last time and hopped in my new car. matt entered the passenger seat and zac in the back seat.
i started the car, grinning. "this is so cool, oh my god!" i squealed excitedly.
later that day, my dad, carina and brandon came to visit me, freaking out about the new car. my dad only smiled, saying that david was a weird guy, earning an eye roll from me. when it was dark outside, we six went out to have dinner together to finish the day.
