i had a normal week, nothing out of the ordinary during work. however, i received the weirdest message from david, saying that he was going to marry jason's mother. i laughed to myself, alone in my apartment, receiving a weird glance from salem. i asked if he was joking and hours later the pic of the legal paper, showing me that he really married her, arrived. later, it all made sense with his friday's vlog (not actually uploaded on friday, though).
on the weekend, my father came to visit so he could help me with my research. it was really hard to find a person if you didn't know his name or how he looked like, so we decided to make an intense research on my mother's life. i felt bad doing it, but she gave me no option. we decided that we were going to ask some of her old friends to know about it, i mean, he was going to do it, since i couldn't leave los angeles for a while.
on thursday, a week later, jason invited us all to a dinner because of his birthday. i decided to go, not having anything more exciting to do that week because i couldn't fly back to austin for carina's graduation. matt gave me a ride to the restaurant, since i've never liked to arrive alone in places. "oh my god!" he exclaimed as soon as i entered his car, making me frown. "i just can't get over the fact on how beautiful you are!" i laughed, blushing a little.
"oh, stop! this is nothing." i joked. i was only wearing a black crop top and black skinny jeans. i decided to use a darker tone of pink lipstick, not that dark though, just to match the scrunchie that tied a part of my hair.
me and matt chatted throughout our ride to the place. when we arrived, a few people were already there, sitting at the big table at the restaurant's balcony, and we joined them. david was already there too, sitting beside lorraine and another girl that i didn't know. i greeted everyone, surprised by how little david cared about my presence, focused on talking to the girl and jeff, who was sitting in front of them. i hugged jason, giving him the present i bought earlier before i sat with matt and zane a little bit far away from david, having a good view of him, though.
we ate while talking about some random stuff that came in mind, a few other friends soon joining us. i couldn't help but glance a few times at david, noticing how excited he looked chatting to the random girl. of course i was jealous. i couldn't help but be jealous. i know it's stupid, and i shouldn't be because she was just his friend. however, it made me feel a little uneasy when he didn't care about my arriving, and the way he leaned against her seat while making a speech for jason. when matt made a joke about how the desert looked like the peach from 'call me by your name', i laughed out loud, telling him how disgusting he was. and then, when i looked at david, he was already staring, but was quick to return his gaze to the girl, giving her a wide smile.
i stood up, telling them that i was going to use the bathroom. after i done my business, i was fixing my lipstick when natalie entered there. "hey." i smiled to her.
"hi." she copied my action. she hesitated before leaning against the counter by my side. "can i talk to you for a bit?"
i turned to her. "sure." i nodded, putting my lipstick inside my pocket.
"i'm really sorry for what i said the other day, i really shouldn't have," she sighed. "i completely misunderstood what he said to me and went all defensive towards you... i'm sorry for trying to get between you two, it's not my place to go defend him the way i did."
"nat, it's okay, don't worry." i shrugged. "i understand, really. i mean, if it was matt, i would've done the same." i told her the truth. i spent all these days thinking about this whole incident, and realized that i would do the same. using my life as an example, natalie was david's matt, if that makes sense. "i know you're a good person, and i really like you, so i hope you can feel the same way towards me some time."
"hey, i like you, you're a nice girl and have the best intentions with david, i just didn't see it at first." she gave me a tiny smile.
"thanks, nat." i quickly hugged her. "i should go back..." i pointed to the door.
"we're in good terms, right?" she asked before i exited the bathroom.
"of course." i gave her a reassuring smile, closing the door behind myself. "i talked to natalie." i told matt, whispering because no one knew about it. or i thought they didn't.
"so?" he asked with his mouth full.
"so," i wiped away the cream from the corner of his lips. "we're good, she apologized."
"that's cool." he nodded, cleaning his mouth with the napkin before going back to the conversation he was having with scott. after a few minutes, he turned to me. "wanna go now?"
"yes, please." i responded, feeling a little bit tired because we were there all night. we stood up, saying bye to everyone. when i was passing by david, i noticed the girl wasn't there anymore.
he grabbed my wrist, making me look down. "i have a proposition." david turned on his seat. i only stared at him, waiting for him to speak. "tomorrow, my wisdom tooth is going to be taken out, wanna come?"
i bit my bottom lip. "can't."
the smirk on his face faded away, leaving a confused expression on his face. "why?"
"i'm busy tomorrow, you know... work." david nodded, letting go of my wrist.
"okay then." he simply replied.
"bye david." i turned on my heels and left the balcony, following matt outside.
for my pleasure, or displeasure, i don't know, couldn't quite get what i felt when carly texted me the next day, telling me to come over while i was finishing with my student. when i entered my car to leave the kid's house, erin texted me, saying that david couldn't stop whining that i was mad at him and didn't want to go see him.

erin: just come please
i sighed in frustration before telling her that i was on my way. the drive wasn't long so i got there fifteen minutes later. i knocked on the door and lorraine opened it for me. "they're in his room." she told me and i nodded, smiling. i took off my shoes and went to his room, finding todd, zane, natalie, carly and erin there too. natalie and erin were sitting down on the bed, watching him as he whined, laid down underneath his white giant blanket, a few pillows surrounding him.
"oh, finally." nat said, making me chuckle a little.
i took another step in, seeing david with his swollen face and a few cottons shoved inside his mouth. i tilted my head to the side, looking at him. "was it that bad?" i asked and he looked at me.
"angie!" his voice was a little muffled when he exclaimed, which it made me smile. "i thought you were mad at me."
i approached him, slipping one leg on top of the bed close to his body. "i wasn't, why would i be?" i put my hand on his face, the side that wasn't swollen - obviously, rubbing my thumb on his cheek.
"i don't know." he told me honestly. "you seemed mad." david nuzzled against my touch and i sat down beside him, crossing my legs on top of the bed.
"how are you feeling?" i mumbled to him.
"like shit." he answered, making me chuckle.
"he cried, like, ten times already." erin informed me from behind.
david groaned lowly. "angie? is this our special moment?"
his question made me blush as i widened my eyes. "you mean sex?" zane asked laughing.
"no!" i quickly interfered. "he's just... being stupid, dobrik you shouldn't say stuff like that."
"but i want it." he whined. "gimme a kiss, just one." david slowly puckered his lips, making me giggle.
"just shut up." i rolled my eyes
"do you want to feed him ice cream?" carly suddenly asked and i quickly turned my head to her direction with the random suggestion.
"why me?" i decided to question.
"i don't know, we were going to, but since you are here..." she shrugged.
"oh?" i let out, frowning.
"i'll go get it." nat said, standing up, heading out.
"check this." todd approached me, smiling while he showed me the photos they took with david. i laughed at them, seeing how fucked up he looked and how happy they were to take advantage of that.
"you guys are mean." i stated, earning a giggle. i glanced over at david, seeing that he slept while i was caressing his skin.
natalie came back with the ice cream and a spoon. "here."she handed it to me.
"dobrik!" i called for him, trying to wake him up, shaking his shoulder slightly. he didn't move a muscle. "dave." i whispered close to his ear, this time waking him up with a groan. "can you sit down for me? i have ice cream." my tone was soft while talking to him. "come on, i'll help you." i put the ice cream down, resting on my legs to help him sit straight, adjusting the pillows behind him. "now," i grabbed the desert. "let's eat." i brought the full spoon closer to his mouth. david whined when he felt the cold inside his mouth. "it'll make the pain feel better." i cooed, carefully putting more ice cream in his mouth.
after a while eating, he finally talked: "you would make a great mother, martis." he said with difficulty after swallowing the food.
i frowned, but smiled anyway. "you know i hate kids." i put the ice cream away since he wasn't eating anymore.
david hummed, reaching for my hand, intertwining our fingers. "you teach little kids."
"touché."
