Sorry for the late update, everyone.
This chapter has gone through some rewrites and last week was my birthday, so I was kept busy.
Ah, I also just wanted to say to both @kwards99 and @aestud02 I enjoyed reading you two's speculations in the last chapter. Ahaha, it was very interesting. You guys brought up some unique stuff! That's all I'll say.

"You are going to face him?" a light voice question "Is it wise?" another, deeper voice joins. Laying on the black king-size bed is Ivory, holding a bounty book on her right hand and currently analyzing the context on the opened page. The twins are seated on their bunk bed across the blonde beauty, looking at her with their violet eyes. The younger displaying intrigue while the elder is stoic.
Ivory remains silent as she stares at the picture of Nawin Makasha on the page. The rest of the page presents all his accomplishments, accolades, bounty price, and rank on how dangerous he is. The Black Flash has quickly risen through the rank to become a full S-Rank adversary. A status that warns any individuals lower than an Ultimate-Class to flee on sight if they were to come into contact with him.
"He is an S-Rank, right?" the youngest of the twin asks with a lollipop in her mouth. Ivory merely gives the nod for an answer. "You have defeated opponents that are as powerful as an S-Rank before," the older twin notes, playing with her long jet-black hair "This should be no different, I guess..."
Closing the bounty book shut, Ivory chucks it over to the younger twin, who yips but promptly catches it. "Thanks!" she says with a wide grin then opens the book to look through the hundreds of bounties.
The older twin stares at Ivory in silence before opening her mouth. "Why do you want to join this group, Ivory? I don't quite see its benefits" "... She's probably just bored of the current life," the younger one swiftly jests and giggles before returning to fold through the pages. The older sister just rolls her eyes at the younger's answer. She shifts back to the Sayaka "Well?"
"... I'm tired of traveling," Ivory finally speaks, and the twin's listen carefully, slightly taken aback by the answer. "Us three are nothing but faceless individuals wandering around this world with no real goal... What are we doing here? Why did we apply for Kuoh Academy?" "We moved here for a change of scenery," the older sister answer "We joined Kuoh Academy to experience something normal" the younger sister state.
"Don't we want to live a normal life, Ivory?" the younger girl asks as she shuts the book, her expression soften "We aren't normal, Farah..." "B-But, we can a-" "Act? Pretend?" Ivory cuts in, directing her piercing blue eyes to the young girl "Is that what you want? To live the rest of your life pretending to be normal? Can you?" "..." "I can't do that, Farah. Sooner or later... The past catches up and invades your mind with thoughts."
Farah looks at her knees with a sad expression and goes silent, having nothing to counter or say. "What do you want to do, Ivory?" the older sister asks, looking directly at her friend in the eyes "Revenge?" "There's no such thing for us," Ivory says and lets out a hollow chuckle "Revenge on what? Fate? Corpses?" "Then what is it that you want out of this group?" "To fight strong opponents and live in a unique life while at it. I'm tired of this life, this world, and everything about it" "You want to live in the supernatural world?" "Yes... What does this world have left to offer us, Silver?" "..."
Ivory lets out a sigh then slowly raise up from the bed. Dropping her legs to the floor, Ivory rest her arms on her knees before looking up at the twin with a sharp expression. "I wouldn't want to join this group if they looked like a bunch of weak wankers. These people are real and their leader... I've never met her but just hearing about her from Noel... It sent shivers down my spine when he described her" "She sounds dangerous," Farah utters, not sure how to feel about this leader "Dangerous means you're powerful... Powerful means you can make an impact, Farah" Ivory replies.
Silver looks up at her sister "Are you scared?" "No," Farah shakes her head "Noel seemed like a really nice guy. Which I was shocked since I expected some more of a rough character, but he was a genuine and kind-hearted person, which made me feel more comfortable about this group, but I just feel... concern about this requirement you need to do to show if you are worthy" "You don't like it?" "I don't, Sis" "Well, I am sure in a way Ivory is relieved about this decision since it displays them in a more realistic light. They aren't some group of nobodies" "I guess that is true."
Farah turns to look at Ivory "What I am really concern about is your decision to go after Nawin Makasha," "Do you think I can't defeat him?" Ivory asks, raising an eyebrow "Ivory..." Farah wears a mix of concern and frustration expression "You may not care much about your life, but I do!" "..." "You have defeated many supernatural opponents in our journey, but none of them are as well-known or strong as the Black Flash. Also, you aren't thinking things through! Let's say you killed him... What kind of repercussion would it bring?" "She has a point," Silver inserts with a dull tone "There is a chance you could bring the fury of hell down on us, Ivory."
Ivory stares at the twins for a moment before cracking a smirk, then shift sight to the youngest one specifically. "Farah, you worry too much. I never once implied to either Noel or you two that I planned to kill the Black Flash" "Huh?" Farah blinks in confusion. Ivory stands up and makes way to the door "I have to prove to them how strong I am. I will drag his ass out of hiatus and have a battle with him. How that fight goes will be decided when the time comes. The plan is for me to use him as a stepping stone to enter this group" "And if you get killed?" Silver asks, watching her friend stops in front of the door. Ivory grabs the knob and twists it to open the door "Then my journey ends. If I am killed in that battle, then there's no point of me to continue living. I rather die in battle then die of age in this dull life" she replies then exits to the hallway, shutting the door.
Silver hears her sister let out a soft hum, which signals she is currently contemplating about something. "Farah," "Yeah?" "If Ivory joins this group will you follow her?" "H-huh?" Farah hop off the bed to land on the ground then turns around to face her sister "Was I giving that kind of impression?" she asks with surprise "... A bit" "Oh... Well," Farah shakes her head and wears a strong expression "Of course not! If Ivory joins this group, then I follow as well. We... It's always been the three of us, I don't want to imagine ever being separated from you or her."
Silver stares at her sister for a moment then gives the nod "Good... I also don't want us to be separated" "You know," Farah giggles a bit "Saying those words with that dull face of yours is uncanny" "It is?" "Yep, but I that's just the way you are, sis" "It is... Have a problem then deal with it," "Ehehe, of course."
Elsewhere
"Uuurgghhh!" Xenovia openly lets out a yawn, stretching her arms to the air to move the still tired muscles. Walking on her right, Yuuto lets out a chuckle then gives a bright smile "Didn't get much sleep?" "Yeah," Xenovia brings her arms down then lets out a grunt "I forgot about the stupid homework and spent an extra two hour past my bedtime to finished it" "You know you could have just knocked on my door for help, right?" "I appreciate that, but," Xenovia smile then gives a gentle and playful punch to Yuuto's jaw "I wouldn't want to wake you up from your beauty sleep" "Ahahaha."
"You know," Xenovia speaks, and Yuuto closely listens when hearing the softness in her usually strong voice "I feel sad that we won't be celebrating Nawin-senpai's birthday" "Ah," Yuuto nods, remembering last night during dinner that he told Xenovia about the situation involving the Makasha's birthday. Considering Xenovia is his girlfriend, Yuuto felt it was right to have told her about it. Especially when she was planning on heading out on Thursday to picked out a present.
"Yeah..." Yuuto rub the back of his neck "Sadly there's not much we can do about it. It's Nawin-kun's choice," "I know... It's just a shame. He really deserves one after everything he has done for us" "I know, Xenovia."
"... Excuse me," a new voice calls out and has the couple halt and turn around to see a beautiful girl standing there, holding both a grocery bag and leather tote bag in one hand while wearing a welcoming smile. "I'm sorry to intrude, but can I ask if you two are students of Kuoh Academy?" Yuuto offers a kind smile in return and nods "Yes, my girlfriend here and I attend there." Xenovia examines the girl, seeing her dressed in regular clothes and is around their age. 'She's not a student?'
The girl smiles and reaches into the tote bag to pull out a plastic box containing a few cookies. "I'm sorry to ask you this but do you think you can do me a favor and give this to Nawin Makasha?" she asks, holding the box up to the surprise couple. "U-um," Yuuto looks at the box "Why us?" he asks "Because I've heard you chatting about him and concluded you are friends of his," the girl blinks "Unless I am mistaken?" "No," Xenovia shakes her head "You are correct, but why not go give it to him yourself?" "Because I don't think he can handle the surprise and chaos I would bring to him if I were to step into the Academy," she answers truthfully and lets out a light chuckle.
Yuuto and Xenovia can't sense an ounce of lie from the girl; furthermore, they become greatly curious to why she would cause such a commotion if she were to visit their school. "I see," Yuuto offers his right hand out and grab the box, giving a kind smile "Then I shall deliver it to him for you" "Thank you very much," the girl release the box and sigh "I am relief that I ran into his friends instead of just some random students. Now I don't have to worry about the possibility that it won't get delivered to him."
Xenovia raise an eyebrow then smirk in amusement "It probably will be delivered to him, but it won't definitely be from you if you were to pick other students... Especially the girls." "Oh?" the unnamed girl tilts her head and smile "Why is that?" she asks, "He's a very popular figure in our school" Yuuto state, chuckling "Even though he is currently in a relationship. The girls still won't give up their affection towards him, so it's not far-fetched to believe they would use your cookies to get positive points from Nawin-kun."
The girl lets out a giggle at this amusing new information. "Ehehe, well, I am glad I ran into you two then. Please do give that to him," "Will do," Yuuto nods "From whom?" Xenovia asks and sees the girl grin brightly "Miraya... Miraya Culdos."
Yuuto watches Miraya zipping her bag shut, ready to leave. "What is your relationship with Nawin-kun?" he asks, unable to keep the question hidden. Miraya looks up and smiles "A friend of his," she simply says then gives a bow "Thanks again for the help. Now," she leans back up "I shouldn't keep you two any longer, or you'll be late."
The couple bid Miraya farewell and watches her walk pass them, heading to the opposite direction. "Weird," Xenovia comment and turns to see Yuuto placing the box of homemade cookies into his school bag. " A bit," he replies with a chuckle "But, she seems like an amiable individual" "Yeah, I agree. But we never saw her before, and she's Nawin-senpai's friend" "That is mysterious. Hmm... Well, we can ask him during the first break" "Alright."
Time Skip: Kuoh Academy
"Right!" Xenovia shuts her locker and turn to Yuuto, who's holding the box of cookies "Let's find, Senpai!" "Ahaha, you seem awfully excited" Yuuto points out, chuckling "I'm curious!" Xenovia points "I don't know why, but that girl is..." "Unique?" "... You don't have a crush on her, are you?" "Of course not, Xenovia-chan. I'm yours" "Good... But, yeah, she's different."
Yuuto thinks back and understands what his girlfriend means in a way. A person stopped them and requested a favor to deliver these cookies to Nawin. It's a move that would typically be depicted as an affectionate move that girls would make toward their crush. But, Yuuto didn't see those kinds of shallow love in Miraya's eyes when she requested this favor from them. Her eyes do show love, but it's much deeper to the point Yuuto believes that she is a person quite important to Nawin and knows him well. When he saw that look in her eyes, he didn't give it a second thought to accept doing the favor. It's clear to him that this Miraya isn't some hopeless girl crushing on Nawin. No, she's something more special.
"Helloo" Xenovia snaps her fingers in front of the Kiba's face, causing him to blink and snap out of his thoughts. "Ah," he smiles in apologetic "Sorry about that. So, where should we start looking?" "Well," Xenovia cross her arms "During the first break, Nawin-kun would either in the classroom relaxing or at the courtyard sharing some snacks with Akeno" "Then let's go check the courtyard first since we are closer to it" "Alright!"
The couple quickly heads to the courtyard as they are on borrowed time before their next class begins. "Hmm," Xenovia stops in front of the stairs and examines the front of the school from side to side. Asia can be seen under the shade with Koneko, Gasper, and Ravel. The young group are enjoying some snacks and chatting. On the other side, she spots Issei is relaxing with his peerage at a table. Riser and Rias are also present. "Huh," Yuuto hums "Nawin-kun and Akeno-senpai aren't here. So, to the classroom?" "Yeah... Perhaps he is chilling there with Akeno. Let's head up!"
As the couple ascends the stairs, a group of girls squeals when spotting Yuuto on the second floor and unintentionally block their path. "Kyaaa, Yuuto-kun" "Y-you are looking good t-today," "Our Pri-" "Shut it!" Xenovia shouts and causes all the girls to squeak then steps back in fear from the Knight's glare "Back off you horny bimbos! This guy here is mine!"
With her point delivered, Xenovia snatch Yuuto's left wrist and pulls him forward. Both push through the stunned fangirls and heads up the stairs at a quick pace. "U-um," Yuuto speaks, a bit hesitant "Xenovia-chan, I appreciate that gesture, but did you have to use such language?" "Alright, alright, Captain Polite," Xenovia rolls her eyes but a smile form on her lip "I'll be careful next time. Those girls were just annoying" "I understand," Yuuto state, chuckling.
Fortunately, there was no other obstacle on the couple's path to reach the Third Year Classroom. When both stopped in front of the door, Xenovia grabs the handle then slides it open and steps in. "Huh?" Xenovia blinks when seeing the absence of Nawin and Akeno in her view "So they aren't here," Yuuto state from the side.
'Oh no,' Yuuto sweat a bit when noticing Xenovia entire body shaking entirely, apparently getting a bit miffed in the searching game. Marching toward one of the students. Xenovia slams a hand down on their desk, starling them "Where is Nawin-senpai?" she asks with a glare that causes the boy to gulp "L-Last I saw h-he left with A-Akeno-senpai to somewhere" "Where?!" "T-they w-went up the stairs!" Xenovia exhales and stands back up, releasing the desk "Thanks" she says with a smirk and turns around to leave.
Yuuto watches with amusement, as the student collapse back at his chair and sigh in relief after the intense exchange. 'She can be pretty scary,' he notes with a fond smile. Xenovia stops in front and raise an eyebrow at the smile "What are you smiling for?" "Oh, nothing, just seeing you getting upset is amusing" "Glad you enjoyed the show," Xenovia replies, rolling her eyes.
Yuuto simply chuckles then brings his left hand forward to grasp Xenovia's hand while his right arm firmly held the box of cookies "Come on. If Nawin-kun and Akeno-senpai went upstairs, then it means they are at the rooftop."
It didn't take long for the couple to reach the thick metal door that leads to the rooftop. Xenovia grabs the handle and press it down "Wait," Yuuto speaks, causing her to halt and glance back at him "What is it?" "I think we should do this in a more private matter," "Why?" "Well, Akeno-senpai is there and even though she doesn't carry those instincts as much as before... It's wiser not to drop this gesture in front of her" "Ah," Xenovia nod in understanding "Yeah, I guess that is better... Alright, so I'll head out there and call for Nawin-senpai then. You can go down and wait for us on the third floor" "Sounds good."
Xenovia push the door open and close her eyes for a moment by the sudden sunlight hitting her face. She steps out and blinks a few times. The view in front of the Knight is an amusing one. Nawin, Akeno, Senna, Momo, Misako, Wendy, and Akame are all sat on the large blanket laid on the ground. Snacks and some drinks are scattered all over the place.
"Ah come on! First place!" Senna shouts, her eyes glued on the screen of Nintendo Switch that's held tightly in her hands "You better get a good item," Momo comments "Or Nawin-kun will beat you" "I shall not accept another defeat!" "Ufufu, I think you might need to, Senna-san" Akeno says, seated beside her lover and watching him play. "Misako, you are losing badly" Wendy comments with a weak smile "I keep getting hit by shells!" Misako exclaims in annoyance which garners a giggle from the younger girl.
Akame, who is silently munching on some snacks and watching Nawin plays, turn to look at Xenovia and raise an eyebrow. "Xenovia," she calls out, and the others, who aren't playing the game shift their attention toward the entrance. Akeno blinks when seeing Xenovia's slightly out of breath state "Something wrong, Xenovia?" "Nothing crazy," she replies with a grin then turns to the person she's been looking for "I need to take Nawin-kun off your hands for a moment."
Hearing what the Quarta said, Nawin hits pause on the game which essentially causes the match to come to a halt. "What?!" Senna looks up and glares at the Makasha "Cheater! Come on! I am getting close to you" "Wow," Misako blinks at the intensity in her friend's eyes "She really is a gamer at heart." "Sorry," Nawin smile teasingly and pass the handheld to Akeno "I'll be leaving my race to my dear girlfriend" "No! I wanted to beat you! This move has made my inevitable victory render to tastelessness!" "That's hurtful, Senna-san," Akeno says with a pout.
Nawin merely chuckles before standing up "Maybe next time, Senna. Xenovia seems to have something important that she wants to discuss" he says and turns to the Knight. "It's not crazy important, don't worry," Xenovia assure when noticing the looks she's getting from Akame and Akeno. Seeing that it is nothing involving supernatural activities, the Queen and Knight are able to relax.
"Why can't we discuss here?" Nawin asks, stopping in front of the Quarta "It's a bit of a particular discussion that deserves some privately" "Alright, let's head down then." When Xenovia and Nawin exit the rooftop, Senna turns to Akeno "Hit unpause so we can continue" "Ufufufu, alright. Just to let you know, I won't have Nawin-kun lose here" "Hah! The finish line is still halfway away! I shall easily win this."
When reaching the third floor. Nawin is greeted by Yuuto standing there, holding the box of cookies with both hands. He blinks and turns to Xenovia "This isn't some kind of confession, is it?" "Bahahahaha!" the Knight burst out laughing while Yuuto sweatdrop, though can't really retort since the scene does share some resembles of that kind of scenario.
Yuuto coughs and gives a polite smile. "I am more of a deliverer, Nawin-kun," he says "Hmm?" the Makasha blinks in perplex. Xenovia walk forward and stop beside her boyfriend before twisting around to look at her Senpai. "On the way to school today we were stopped by a girl, and she asked us a favor. And that favor was to pass these cookies to you" the Knight informs and watch Nawin stop in front of Yuuto and takes the box of treats into his hands.
Nawin gives the couple a questionable look "Why not just ignore the favor? It's just another dumb stunt my admirers pulled" he states and sends the box of treats an annoy look. "Because I don't think she was a typical fangirl," Yuuto says with a smile "What do you mean?" "She isn't from our school from the looks of it" "Ok... I still don't see what you are getting at, Yuuto" "Well, her name is Miraya Culdos."
Yuuto and Xenovia are startled to see Nawin's expression shift instantly to surprise when that name was uttered. Something scarce considering their friend always is a composed individual. Yuuto immediately took note of this and was glad his hunch was right. 'So, this girl is someone special.'
"Ah..." Nawin utters, unsure how to proceed with this. His mind is currently in havoc and wondering why Miraya decided to pull this act now when he hasn't even introduced her to the group yet. "So," Xenovia starts, leaning forward a bit "Who is she, Senpai?" she asks to gain the Makasha's attention.
Nawin looks up at the couple staring at him and contemplates in his mind if he should reveal much. No doubt if he tells how close Miraya is with him, it will bring up questions like how they have never seen her before until now. Which will lead to a more severe question that he rather has Miraya present to explain it with then just himself.
"She's a dear friend of mine," Nawin informs and gives a smile "A dear friend that you all will be introduced to soon." The answer catches Xenovia and Yuuto off-guard, not predicting that this girl was an individual that was this close to their friend. Before the couple could respond, Nawin once again speaks "And I would like you two to do me a favor as well... Which is to keep this a secret until she is introduced to everyone" "I don't mind doing that, Senpai" Xenovia speaks, crossing her then sends a questionable look "But why the secrecy?" "Xenovia..." Yuuto speaks, seeing his girlfriend pushing on a subject that clearly is personal for the Makasha.
Nawin claps his hand down on Xenovia's shoulder "Because she's a special case... You'll know soon enough." With that said, Nawin retracts his arm and heads to the stairs. "Thanks for passing this box to me, you two" "Of course," Yuuto reply, watching his friend disappear to the higher floor.
Stopping in the middle of the quiet stairs, Nawin leans back on the rails then opens the plastic lid on the box. Taking in one of the three cookies in hand, Nawin takes a bite of it and gets the rich flavor taste of peanut butter filling his mouth. A warm and fond smile form on Nawin's lip as he looks at the rest of the cookies with nothing but joy in his brown eyes.
Time Skip
"Ahh!" Misako exhales in relief "School's finally over! Today was exhausting" "It was?" Wendy tilts her head, not sharing the sentiment "The teacher pulled a pop quiz on us during the last lesson" Akame inform. "She was evil!" Misako whines which have Wendy giggle while Akame smirk in amusement.
Currently, the trio is making way to the Center of Kuoh to visit their favorite dessert store. A plan that was formulated by none other than Misako, who is craving for sweets after an exhausting day. "Bah," Misako suddenly points in disappointment as her shoulder slumps "What's wrong?" Wendy asks, blinking at her friend's sudden change of mood. "Well... I asked Nawin-kun today if we wanted to tag along with us, but he declined... Again," "Well... He has told you and Senna that he'll be busy this week with personal matters" "I know, but I was hoping that he had a bit of time to hang out."
Hearing what Misako said has place a thought in Akame's mind, who has been silent the whole time. She has taken notice on her King's sudden absence in the afterschool activities with them. Usually, when he doesn't have plans with Akeno or the boys, he would commonly accompany them after school. Now, ever since the start of this week, he hasn't done anything with them after school, and it's only not just them but also Akeno and the boys. Which raised questions in Akame's head, but when she heard that it was a personal matter, she decided not to push her King for answers.
Akame is snap out of her thoughts when sensing Misako's and Wendy's movement suddenly comes to a halt. She looks up in question to only see they are stopped by two individuals blocking their path.
"Helloo," Farah greets the group with an innocent smile while Silver stood beside her, staring blankly at the group while sucking on a strawberry flavored lollipop. "Hi..." Misako replies with slight hesitance, remembering these people causing her friends, Senna and Momo some trouble on their first day in school.
When Silver's sharp lavender orbs move to Wendy, she shifts uncomfortably and takes a step to the side to hide behind Misako. Feeling how these two are making her friend feel, Misako's expression hardens slightly "Is there something you need?" she asks, wanting to leave. "Hmm..." Farah hums and takes steps forward to stop right in front of Misako. She leans further in to get close to Bishop's face. Akame is watching this carefully but doesn't make a move just yet, considering she knows first-hand that Misako can protect herself against humans now.
The innocent smile on Farah's face shifts to a sharper and more dangerous one as she looks into those beautiful sapphire orbs possessed by the Ichiru. "You really have beautiful eyes," she states and leans back to stand straight "A shame that those eyes are firmly set on a person you can't get, hmm?" Misako's eyes widen at this along with Wendy's while Akame's eyes sharpen in seriousness.
Farah merely chuckles and twist around to walk back to her sister's side then faces the group once more, wearing that innocent smile once more. "Hehe, that was a bit rude, sorry about that" she apologies, which just cause conflicted emotion inside Miraya. It was like she was dealing with two different personalities in one body.
"Are you just here to antagonize us?" Akame asks, stepping forward, getting tired of the twin's game. Farah was about to reply until Silver step forward and look right into the Knight's red eyes "And if we are? Is that a problem?" she retorts with stoic "..." Akame remains silence and just stare at the older twin. The atmosphere around them starts to thicken to the point that this is no longer a casual conversation.
"Hehehe," Farah giggles and step forward to claps a hand on her sister's shoulder "Now, now, Silver... Let's not turn this into a confrontation! I just wanted to say hi since we happened to cross path" "... You," Silver's eyes stay keen on Akame "I don't like you" she states, which has Farah blinks in surprise while the Knight's eyes narrow.
Without another word spoken, Silver walks ahead and passes Akame, their shoulders brush on the way. "Wow, she seems upset," Farah state and giggles before following her older sister. "Oh!" she stops next to the group and grin "Just in case you guys can't tell us apart! Just examine our highlights" she informs and brings a lock of her long raven black hair up that shows a vibrant aqua blue highlight at the tips "Mine's blue and Silver's red. Simple, eheheh." With that said, Farah follows her Sister.
All the group does is stare at the weird and enigmatic twin's retreating figures. Unable to find the words to describe this encounter. But one thing is clear, there is a negative feeling fostered between them and the delinquent twin.
Elsewhere
Nawin lets out a peaceful exhale as he makes way to the Gray Lotus. Though, Nawin's calm expression cracks a bit and shift to slight guilt as he remembers the look of disappointment on Misako's face when he declined her invitation to hang out. 'Sorry, Misako. But, when Miraya is finally settled here... I'll hang out with you and the rest. Hopefully, you and Miraya will hit it off well.'
Nawin knows he can't keep Miraya a secret for long. He has noticed Akeno along with Akame starting to take suspicion on his afterschool activities. They don't outright display it, but he knows the two of them well enough that he can see it in their eyes. Sooner or later, Akeno will question him, and he doesn't want to lie to her about this. Also, he doesn't want to throw any more lies at Akeno. After the ones, he had to made when involving Sayomi.
'Sayomi...' Nawin utters the name in his mind, recollecting his last encounter with the Pureblood in Transmere. Though, there is one notable change Nawin has noticed ever since Miraya has returned to his life. It was about Sayomi and how she has slowly begun to fade away from his thoughts. In the past, before Miraya. Sayomi would in ways occupied his mind, but now, she is gradually becoming a distant memory and replacing her is Miraya.
Same can be accounted with his nightmares that would more so then not involved the Pureblood. Even that has become nothing but a distant memory. For the past three days, he was able to sleep peacefully. The idea of any nightmares that could creep at him has gone and replaced with harmony. This was able to happen because of Miraya. With her being part of his life once again.
Deep in his thoughts, Nawin abruptly gets pulled out of it when a finger pokes his cheek that causes him to blink then shifts his eyes up to come face to face with Miraya. "Thinking quite deep there, darling" she comments with a teasing grin "Ahaha," Nawin chuckles before scanning the area to see he is close to the Gray Lotus. The Motel is just on the right end. "I didn't even realize I was here," "Clearly," Miraya leans back and giggle "I was waiting by the reception then caught sight of you through the window. You just stood there like you were in a daze" "Sorry about that" "Ehehe, it's fine."
"So," Miraya starts, giving a wide grin to show she is in a bright mood "What's the plan for today? Are you going straight to your home?" "Going there now won't guarantee everyone will be present. So," Nawin offers his right hand forward, giving a soft smile "How about we go enjoy some sightseeing before heading there?" Miraya takes the hand without hesitant "Sounds lovely."
"Ah," Nawin suddenly halts after a few steps which cause Miraya blinks and turn to him with a questionable look "Something wrong?" "Well," Nawin releases his grasp on the Culdos's hand to reach for his schoolbag, zipping it open then pulls out the empty plastic box. "I received your cookies," Nawin state "That's great to hear!" Miraya grin "I was right to trust those couple. They are your friends," "Yeah, Xenovia and Yuuto, those are their names."
Miraya tilts her head when seeing the look in the Makasha's eyes. "Is something wrong? You didn't like the cookies?" "No! Of course not, I always loved your cookies, Miraya" "That's a relief to hear... So, what's wrong?" "Well, why were you planning on heading to school today, Miraya? You must have known without me saying it that if you were to stepped foot there, it would cause some chaos" "Well... I never planned to step out in the school, Nawin."
"...What?" Nawin blinks before sending the blankest look possible to the smiling girl "You... Were you just standing there the whole morning?!" "Yep!" Miraya grins brightly "I was scouting! Trying to find the right people to deliver those cookies to you! Took a while until I heard those couple talking about you and thought they were the people to get the job done."
Nawin is utterly speechless to learn the hard work Miraya has put herself through this morning just to get those cookies to him. She must have woken up extra early to make the cookies then waited near the school to scout for someone to deliver the treat to him.
"You didn't have to put yourself through that," Nawin whispers in a soft tone "Why not?" Miraya smiles happily "You always loved my cookies, so I thought it would be good to make some for you." Wordlessly, Nawin puts the plastic box away then zip the bag shuts. He turns to Miraya and gives a heartwarming smile "Thank you, Miraya... They were absolutely delicious. It reminded me of the old days" "Ehehe, hearing that made waking up early this morning all the more worth it."
Time Skip: Center of Kuoh
Stood on top from one of the tallest building in Kuoh, Ivory leans against the metal railing while peering out at the view of the bustling center. A lit cigarette firmly rests on her pink lip before she pulls it out to exhale smoke, that goes shattering away by the soft breeze.
"We are back!" the heavy metal door slams open and emerging from the shadows is Farah and Silver. Ivory remains firm in place and puffs the cigarette before exhaling. Farah makes herself comfortable on a wooden crate that's for an unknown reason set on the deserted roof. Silver merely stands by the doorway and leans on the wall, crossing her arms behind.
"... So," Ivory brings the cigarette away from her mouth to speak clearly "How are they?" "Misako Ichiru shouldn't prove much trouble. Even with the training, she's been receiving... She is still a novice from what I've sensed in her. Experience is what she heavily lacks... Those eyes displayed it crystal clear." "Akame..." Silver speaks, her voice sharp as a knife "She will prove to be difficult," "Yep," Farah nods, grinning like a child "She is strong! And those red eyes... She has got lots of blood on her hands!"
"It doesn't matter how strong she is..." Ivory speaks, dropping the cigarette to the floor "We outwit her, and she'll fall into our hands... That simple," "So we are going with your plan, Ivory?" Farah asks as her innocent smile shift into a more sinister one. "... No," Ivory's keen eyes stare into the city and lands at Nawin exiting the public bus with Miraya, both staying close and laughing together "I have found a way to improve it."
Elsewhere
"Ahh, I haven't had a milkshake in forever!" Miraya exclaims with a bright grin before sipping down the flavored chocolate drink. "Best to have one when the weather's hot," Nawin state, sipping on his own chocolate milkshake. The pair are currently walking through the moderately busy street. Their destination is a place that holds many precious memories for them.
"So, Nawin," Miraya glance at her dear friend and smile "Tell me, aside from Xenovia and Yuuto. How many more friends of yours do I have left to meet" "Still a lot," "Really? You have made that many?!" "Is it that shocking?" "Well," Miraya giggles then sends a teasing wink "You once told me that you'd prefer having fewer friends that you could trust than more friends that you couldn't" "... I have been through a lot of hardship with nearly all of them, Miraya. I trust most of them" "That's great to hear."
"What about you?" Nawin decides to ask "Hmm?" Miraya tilts her head and blink "Have you made any friends during your travels?" "Ah," Miraya offers a sheepish grin "I tend to move around a lot, so I didn't really talk with many people... But I have met a handful of people that I was close enough to have them in the contacts" "Why were you moving around so much?" "... To keep me busy, Nawin" "Oh..." the Makasha's expression saddens, knowing what the Culdos is indicating.
Miraya sees the expression and quickly brings her free hand up to grasp the Makasha's cheek, making him turn to her. "Don't be sad now," she offers a soft smile "I finally found you... It may have been a long and tough journey for me, but in a way, it has led me back to you, Nawin" "Yeah... What matters is that we are reunited" "Mhm-hmm, so let's not be sad."
The pair continue toward their destination in peaceful silence while enjoying their drinks. It took them roughly ten minutes to finally reach their objective.
"... Huh... This sure brings back memories," Miraya speaks with a reminisce smile plastered on her face as she looks onward at one of the biggest parks in Kuoh. "Shinko park..." Nawin whispers "This was where we always used to play when we were kids." "Where I stopped those bullies that picked on you," Miraya remark, remembering one of the many memories that took place in this park.
Nawin drops the now empty plastic cup into the recycling bin that's set in front of the park. "Pass it here," he urges, indicating to Miraya's own cup "Ah, thanks," she happily passes over her cup and watches it get toss into the bin. "Now," Nawin turns to Miraya with a warm smile, offering his right hand out "Let's go explore the place... See if anything has changed" "Sounds fun," Miraya grasps the hand then enters the park with the Makasha.
Considering it is a weekday and still working hours, the park is only moderately busy. Some young kids are running around the place or having fun in the playground with their mothers overseeing things. Besides early morning, it is now a perfect time to have a peaceful walk around the Shinko Park.
"Wow..." Miraya freely looks around the park "This place feels like it hasn't changed a bit... Besides there being more grass than before" "Yeah," Nawin's eyes stop at a specific spot and his smile widens ever slightly "And look, they increased the size of the sandbox." Miraya shift to the right and indeed sees the one small sandbox that could barely fit five kids is now more than three times its previous size. "Ehehehe," Miraya giggles then sends a teasing glance to her companion "Want to jump in there and start playing, Nawin?" "Ahaha, I'll pass for now" "You sure? I'll join you~" "I don't think it'll look good for you to appear in front of my parents covered in sand, Miraya" "Ehehe, that I can't disagree."
Firmly holding Nawin's hand, Miraya looks up at the sky and takes a deep breath before exhaling. "Something wrong?" Nawin asks "Well... Actually, there's something I wanted to discuss with you, Nawin" "Sure, there's a bench under a tree there. Let's take a seat for a moment."
Allowing Miraya first to take a seat, Nawin releases her hand then sits down beside her. He sighs in peace before glancing to the side "So, what is it you want to discuss?" "I learned something a bit shocking this morning from Xenovia and Yuuto. Before I made myself known to them, I heard they mentioned your name and listened carefully to see if they were your friends. Their conversation was something that took me off-guard... Nawin," Miraya shift her head to face the Makasha, wearing a look of concern "Why aren't you celebrating your birthday?"
The calm expression on Nawin's face morphs to a tense one from the question. "Ah," he utters, unsure how to proceed with this conversation when it comes to Miraya. Unlike Akeno or the others, Miraya is importantly linked to his birthday.
Seeing Nawin doesn't know how to go with the conversation, Miraya decides to ask something else. "So, this decision isn't a first-time thing?" "... No" "How long have you not celebrated your birthday?" "... Five years" "Urgh!" Miraya gasps in horror "Y-You'd stop since my death!" "..." Nawin shifts his head away "Yes..." he answers.
Silence falls on the pair. Miraya clenches her hands together before opening her mouth "Naw-" "You died that day... On my birthday, no, Our birthday... How can I celebrate after that, Miraya?" Nawin cuts in then turn to look at the girl, his brown orbs glowing with sadness. Miraya shift to look at her friend in the eyes. "I know, darling... But you always loved your birthday" "Because of you," Nawin inserts "My birthday used to be a day I get to celebrate it with you and just have fun... It was supposed to be one of the happiest days of my life. Just me, you, and my family."
Nawin cocks his head to the other side, the front bangs hovers over his eyes. "How can I continue to celebrate when on my Twelve Birthday is the day, I lost you... The date of my birthday turned into an Anniversary for your death. So, how can you expect me to celebrate and be happy on that day?"
"Nawin," Miraya starts, gently grasping the boy's hand "I won't criticize you for those past five years of birthday you missed... But, isn't it time to change that?" "..." "Even with me here now... Alive, you still feel hesitance to celebrate it, aren't you?" Nawin remains silence as if trying to find words to reply.
Miraya is ready to continue before the sound of a cry stops her. The pair turn to see a young girl crying not far from them, tears evidently dripping down her cheeks. Miraya releases the Makasha's hand and stands up, heading toward the distressed child at a quick pace.
"Hi there," the child opens her big brown eyes when hearing a soothing and kind voice entering her ears. She lets out a gasp, surprised by the beauty and kindness radiating from the woman in front of her. Miraya wears a caring smile "What's wrong, child?" she asks "I-I ran a-away from home." The young girl knows that she shouldn't be talking to a stranger, a fact her parents daily reminded her when they go out of the house. But, the woman in front of her emits such warmth and kindness that it eases her and create trust. Those light-violet orbs hold nothing but sincere consideration and concern.
"Now why would you do that?" Miraya asks "B-Because they forgot that it's my birthday today" the child reply, rubbing the tears away with her arms, "I-I asked them about it a-and they were shocked... T-they forgot about it." Seeing the child tearing up once more, Miraya pulls her into an embrace, and it is whole-heartedly accepted by the child.
Miraya thinks carefully about what the young girl said. Seeing just how sweet the child is, gives her the impression that the parents are similar in a way. Which makes it a bit odd that they would forget about their child's birthday. 'Perhaps they wanted to throw her a surprise birthday party, and the idea backfired...'
"Do you have siblings?" "N-No," the child replies, which makes it even odder to Miraya that the parents would forget about the child's special day. She pulls back and looks at the girl in the eyes, smiling warmly "How about I take you back to your home?" "B-but," the child flails her arms around "I-I'm still mad!" "Something tells me that when you return home, there will be a pleasant surprise waiting for you" Miraya replies, causing the girl to blink in confusion.
Miraya slowly stands up then offer her right hand to the child, who looks at it for a moment before accepting the gesture. "What's going on?" the child yips and hide behind the Culdos when seeing Nawin stop in front of them. Miraya smile "This girl ran away. I need to take her back home safely," "Huh," Nawin lets out a short chuckle as a fond smile form on his lip "Just like you... Alright, let's go then."
Miraya nods then turn to the child "Where is your home, little one?" "O-On, Dasuma Street," "That's where Akame lives," Nawin state then turns around "I know where it is." Miraya is about to follow but feel a slight tug on her hand from the child. She turns to see the nervous expression on the girl's face "Don't worry, my friend is very nice. He's just currently in a bit of a down mood" she states "O-Ok."
The trip to the bus station was a peaceful one. Miraya learned on the way that the child's name is Hatsue and she's just turned Nine today. While Miraya and Hatsue were happily chatting with one another. Nawin remained quiet, content with just listening to the girl.
"U-um," Hatsue stares at Nawin, who's calmly sited by the window, watching the passing view as the bus takes them out of the center. Miraya smile down at the young girl seated on her lap. She leans down toward the girl's ear and whispers in encouragement "Go on... He needs someone to talk with."
"N-Nawin-san," Hatsue shyly calls out and immediately gets the Makasha's attention. He turns to look at her with a raised eyebrow "Yes?" "Hello!" Hatsue abruptly says with a nervous smile then gives a shy wave. The action catches Nawin by surprise while Miraya lets out a giggle. Then, a small smile form on the Makasha's face, his stoic brown eyes fades to warmth.
"Hello... Hatsue," Nawin reply "W-why aren't you happy?" Hatsue asks, tilting her head, the blue orbs in her eyes shines in innocence "Miraya told me your birthday is this week... When my birthday is near, I am so happy!" she says with a bright smile. Nawin remains silent for a moment which makes Miraya grow concern, and she was about to speak but stops when seeing him open his mouth. "Tell me, Hatsue. If you had the worst birthday possible. A day that was supposed to be nothing, but happiness was ruined because of a tragic event... Would you continue to celebrate it in the later year?" "Hmm," Hatsue crosses her arms and adopt a thinking expression.
Half a minute pass and Hatsue opens her eyes as a big grin spread across her face. "Birthday is supposed to not only be a fun day for you but also the people you love! My Papa and Mama always smile when it's my birthday! So, I would celebrate it again to make them happy! Even if the last birthday was bad." Miraya quietly watches Nawin's expression morph to one of shock by the child's wise words.
Hatsue looks on in awe when witnessing a full smile form on Nawin's face, one filled with warmth. "It seems you are wiser than me, Hatsue... Thank you for those words" "N-No problem." Miraya giggles and stroke the blushing girl's long brown lock. Miraya and Nawin share a look then smile before they relax in their seat to enjoy the peaceful ride.
It didn't take the bus long for it to reach the Dolza Station which is located near Dasuma street. The three exits the bus and Hatsue begins to guide her new friends to her house. She pulls Miraya along while Nawin closely follows by the side.
"Are you still angry at your parents, Hatsue-chan?" Miraya asks "Not anymore... I was a bit selfish at how I acted since they have been busy lately with work." Hatsue looks forward and smiles "As long as I get to spend time with them today then I am happy!" "That's very mature of you" Miraya comment with a bright grin while Nawin silently smiles.
The trio takes a left turn to end up in Dasuma street. Houses upon houses littered on both side of the street to create a comforting neighborhood environment. Nawin takes a moment to heighten his senses and search for Akame's mana signature. To his relief, she currently absent in the area.
"Ah! There it is!" Hatsue points at one of the few two-story houses in the area. It is one of the bigger houses here and built on the right end of the neighborhood. Miraya and Nawin look carefully and spots some shadows moving through the clear window, indicating that Hatsue's parents are home.
"Alright," Miraya kneels to the young girl's level and gives a smile "This will be it for our regrettably short adventure, Hatsue-chan" she states, then giggles when the child openly pouts in disappointment. "You two are fun and nice!" Hatsue says which have the pair smile warmly at her "Thanks, Hatsue..." Nawin kneels beside Miraya and brings his right hand down on the girl's soft brown lock, stroking it "Even though it was brief... It's been a joy spending time with you" he says with sincere.
Hatsue gives a toothy grin and nods "Thank you so much for safely taking me home!" she says with a polite bow then turn around to head for the front door. Before grabbing the knob, Hatsue turns around and waves at the pair "See you next time, Miraya-chan, Nawin-kun!" "Take care, Hatsue-chan" Miraya reply while Nawin lifts his right hand to wave goodbye, wearing a gentle smile. Hatsue gives one final bright grin before turning around and opens the door, entering the house.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HATSUE!" Miraya and Nawin hear two different voice booms from in the house. Both smile wide by the parents' surprise for their daughter. "... How did you know?" Nawin asks, hearing Hatsue's cry of joy through his heightened senses. "Because that happened to you once... Remember? On your Eight birthday" "Oh," Nawin lets out a chuckle "The one where you and my family were in on the whole scheme of pretending to forget my birthday" "Ehehehe, you were so angry that you ran out of the house and didn't return for two hours! Perfectly providing us the time to set everything up."
Nawin closes his eyes and smiles fondly at the memory. "Miraya..." he calls out "Hmm?" "... I... I want to celebrate it... My birthday" "Uh?!" Miraya snaps to the Makasha with a look of stun before it quickly shifts to a joyful one "Really?" Nawin opens his eyes to look at her and nod "Yes, it's time. It's time I stop being selfish... I know my family and friends want badly to throw me my birthday party... I shouldn't stop them with my selfish reason. And with you here... Everything is fine."
Miraya smiles brightly then pulls Nawin into an embrace. "I'll do whatever it takes to make it the best birthday possible... To make up for all the ones you missed over the years," Miraya says. Nawin wraps his arms around the Culdos and smile happily "I can't wait for it, Miraya."
Time Skip: Makasha Household
"Akeno do you mind cutting a lemon for me," Yao request, stirring the prawn tom yum soup in the metal stock pot while sprinkling in some salt to add more flavor. "Of course," Akeno says, already in front of the opened fridge and fetch one lemon out of the bag. She closes the door and head to the chopping board to cut the lemon in half and pass it to the Makasha "Thanks, dear."
Currently, the two women are prepping dinner for the family. Cooking a tradition Thai-style food. It's become a routine now that Akeno would help Yao with the cooking while learning a variety of dishes and technique from the experienced woman. Seeing that it's well stirred, Yao place the wooden spoon down to let the soup rest for a moment. She turns to look at Akeno and sees her staring out to the distance through the window in the kitchen. The fried eggs are cooking on the pan in front of her.
"Akeno," Yao softly calls out, which snaps the Himejima out of her thoughts at look at the older woman. Yao gives a caring smile "What's wrong, dear?" "Well..." Akeno shifts her sight to the clock on the wall "It's almost six and Nawin-kun isn't back yet... I am just wondering what he's doing" "Perhaps he is just spending time with his friends?" Yao suggests "Yeah... That's true."
"Mhmmm! Smells good!" Lucy enters the kitchen, dressed in her night clothes and has a towel wrapped around her shoulders which indicate she just got out of the shower. Lucy turns to Akeno and gives a smirk "You have really gotten better at cooking, Akeno. From accidentally poisoning my brother to a good chef." "Ufufufu," Akeno giggles and give a smile "It's all thanks to Yao-san" "Ehehe, you were able to soak up all the lessons like a sponge, dear" Yao state, grinning "You are a natural at cooking... Just needed some pointers during the start."
"How did you survive before meeting with Big bro, Akeno?" Lucy asks "Without being able to cook for yourself and all that" "I always would eat with Rias. So, we regularly ate out while some other nights if we felt lazy, we would just order food" "... How in the world were you able to maintain that figure of yours?" Lucy asks in stupefied. Akeno simply laughs at the blonde's expression "It's not like I was ordering junk food often, Lucy. Most of the time I ate healthily and only really ate those junk foods when Rias felt like it. If she wanted a pizza or a burger, then we would have those. Furthermore," Akeno sends a wink "I don't gain weight easily thanks to my genes."
"Hmm," Lucy eyes the Himejima for a moment before opening her mouth "Where you slightly overweight when you were young?" "Nope," Akeno shakes her head "I was quite slender back then." Lucy lets out a grunt which causes the Himejima to blink while Yao giggles. "Why is she upset?" Akeno asks the mother "Because when she was young, Lucy was a bit in the chubbier side" "Oh, ufufufu, that is the case to lots of kids."
Yao turns to her daughter and grin "Don't forget though, Lucy. While you were a bit chubby back then, you were also adorable! Nawin absolutely adored you during that time." Lucy gets a flustered a bit before crossing her arms and cocks her head to the side "Guess that's true," she whispers out. Akeno and Yao merely giggle at the young girl change of heart on the topic when reminded of her brother's feeling on it.
The three girls suddenly shift their sights to the hallway when hearing the front door click open. A big smile form on Akeno's face, knowing that her lover has finally returned home. "Everyone, mind coming down" Nawin's voice boom from the hallway. Confusion enters the girls in the kitchen, not expecting such an abrupt request.
Akeno is the first to move and exits the kitchen then turn left. Akeno smile when catching sight of her beloved, but then notice another person stood next to him. Akeno examines the other individual, and the joyful expression on her face shatters and replace with absolute stun. "What's wrong, dear?" Yao walks out holding a glass of water, she takes a sip then turns to the doorway. "Urgh!" Yao's eyes widen and lets out a loud gasp, the glass in her hand slip and hit the carpet, drenching it with the water.
Miraya takes a step forward and gives a small smile that's filled with warmth but also nervousness. "It's good to see you again, Yao," she says respectfully. Miraya blinks when noticing Lucy standing beside the older woman, looking at her with a look of disbelief before tears start dripping down those glossy blue eyes.
Lucy shifts to her brother as if asking him if this is real. Nawin gives a warm smile and nod "Yes, Lucy... She's here and alive" he utters. Miraya opens her mouth and is ready to speak before Lucy comes rushing forward and collides her with a big hug. "Aaaahhh!" the young Makasha openly cries out, burying her face on the Culdos's chest while the tears freely drip down her eyes.
Miraya smiles and wraps her arms around the young girl, stroking her back in comfort. "It's lovely to see you again, Lucy" she whispers, her own eyes starting to turn glossy. Nawin hears more footsteps and looks up to see his Dad standing by the stairs, looking at the scene with a speechless expression.
Still holding Lucy close, Miraya looks up to the father. "Hello Jonathan," she says with a big smile "You haven't changed a bit, Ehehehe." Nawin notices his parents are utterly struck stunned by this, to the point it was a bit weird. He also took notice of their body language. They display tenseless like one would adopt when they are in danger.
Nawin can only guess that they are imagining that the Miraya standing beside him is a fake. Like he once thought. But he can't just openly say that isn't the case considering Miraya is utterly oblivious to the supernatural world, and he would like for it to stay that way.
"M-Miraya..." Jonathan is the first to speak, descending the stairs and stop beside his wife. He looks at the girl with an unreadable expression. "I-Is that really you?" "Yes, Jonathan," Miraya says and giggles "It's really me," "I can vouch for that," Nawin inserts which catch everyone's attention. "I too was skeptical until hearing her story. Mom, Dad... Miraya is here and alive," he says with a smile.
"L-Let's take this to the living room, shall we?" Yao suggests and without another word, enters the other room. Soon, everyone is seated at the couches. Jonathan, Yao, and Akeno seated on one while Nawin, Miraya, and Lucy sat on another one across them. Lucy drys her tears with her hands while sitting on the Culdos's lap.
"Please... Miraya, explain" Yao request after a long pause. Miraya glance at Nawin as if asking for his support, not expecting such a tense atmosphere for this reunion. Nawin simply gives a warm smile and a nod "Go ahead" he whispers in encourage. Miraya smile in gratitude for the support before turning to face the parents "Ok, so..."
Everyone in the room closely listens when Miraya begins to explain to them what happened to her on that day when she awoke from the low-pulse coma. None interrupts the Culdos and just listens. She tells them everything. From her awakening, all the way to her being in Bangkok to searched for Nawin.
When the explanation is done. Once again, the room turns silent. Miraya sees both Jonathan and Yao giving her an unreadable expression. Digesting everything she has told them. Then, Yao looks at her son for a moment, her eyes soften considerably.
Without a word, Yao stands up and makes way to Miraya. Lucy sees this and quickly hops to the side, off the Culdos and onto the couch. Yao drops to her knees then pulls Miraya into an embrace. "... It's good to have you back, Sweetheart. It's absolutely a miracle that you are still alive. I'm sorry we weren't there for you" "It's fine," Miraya smile and wraps her arms around the older woman "I know you did it for Nawin's wellbeing. I don't hold an ounce of grudge on any of you."
Miraya looks over to see Jonathan giving her his signature warm smile. "Welcome home... Miraya" he says, which cause a single tear to drip down the girl's eyes. Nawin looks across to see Akeno looks uncomfortable through the whole ordeal and he can understand why. Akeno turns to see Nawin looking at her, giving a gentle smile. She returns with it with a weak one.
Suddenly, the sound of the front door opening catches everyone's attention. "I am home!" Asia's bright voice explodes, and she comes entering the room, grinning in apologetic. "Sorry for being late, everyone," she says and bows "I was doing homework at Koneko-chan's place." Nawin senses the magic signature of the Rook walking away from here 'Ah, so Koneko brought her home.'
"Hmm?" Asia tilts her head when sensing an unknown individual in the room "Um, hello?" she calls out. Yao simply smiles then stands up "That's my adopted daughter, Asia" she informs to the Culdos. Miraya is surprised by this news, not being notified of this from Nawin. "You didn't tell me you have an adorable adopted sister," Miraya comment, looking at Nawin, who chuckles "Well, I wanted it to be a surprise."
"Now," Yao slaps her hands to get everyone's attention "Let's have dinner," she says then turns to Miraya "And you will join us, Sweetheart," "Ehehe, of course." Nawin goes to pick up Asia, holding her up on his arms. "Asia," he starts, stopping in front of Miraya, who stands up to face the blonde in an appropriate height. "This is Miraya Culdos... My childhood friend" "Hello, Asia" Miraya greets the blind girl with a warm smile. Asia's expression shifts to one of stun 'I-Is this Onii-chan's friend that Onee-chan was talking about on that night?'
Asia quickly composes herself and gives a bright smile. "Hello, Miraya-san. It is nice to meet you!" "Ehehehe, I can just see you being one of Nawin's biggest soft spots" Miraya comments, giggling "Oh zip it," Nawin lightly throws in, shaking his head before chuckling. Yao stops beside Miraya "You can explain to her over dinner, is that ok?" "Of course."
As the family starts heading into the hallway. Miraya stays behind then turns around to face Akeno. "Sorry to not have properly introduced myself earlier to you," she says with a sheepish grin before offering a hand forward "Miraya Culdos, and you must be Akeno Himejima, yes?" "That's me," Akeno replies with a faint smile, taking the hand to exchange handshakes.
Miraya grins "It's great to finally meet the special girl who was able to steal Nawin's heart," she states, retracting her arm to the side "No normal girl can do that." Akeno is taken by surprise by the comment before smiling more widely "I love him with all my heart," "I have no doubt, or else he wouldn't be with you."
Akeno tilts her head "He talked about me to you?" "Of course," Miraya giggles "He has nothing but nice things to say about you, Akeno-san." Hearing those words bring a loving smile to the Himejima's face, knowing Nawin holds her in such light.
Time Skip
"I am so glad you are finally reunited with Onii-chan, Miraya-san!" Asia says with a bright smile "After the long and hard search you had to endure." When done hearing the Culdos's story, Asia immediately feels comfortable in the woman's presence. Knowing this woman seated at the table is a person her brother cares very dearly for. With that in mind, Asia more than welcomes Miraya with open arms and is excited to learn more about her.
Lucy has been wearing a smile ever since Miraya's arrival. She is unable to hide the joy of learning that the person she has once seen as a Big sister figure has miraculously returned. "Miraya," she looks up and calls the woman "Hmm?" "I was wondering how you found Big bro when you returned here?" "Ah," Miraya lets out a short giggle "It wasn't that hard. I am currently residing in a Motel called Gray Lotus that's not far away from here. So, one day while I was out to buy some groceries in a small store that's around the area. Some schoolgirls dressed in Kuoh Academy's uniform were there fetching some snacks, then they blurted out Nawin's name. So that's where I learned that Nawin was back here in Kuoh and is attending Kuoh Academy."
Miraya gives a weak smile "Even though I learned that he and the rest of you were in Bangkok... I wasn't able to learn that you all returned here because your departure was kept quiet. So, after reaching what I thought to be the last dead end, I returned here." "... Sorry, we made it hard on you," Yao says. "No," Miraya shakes her head and gives a reassure smile "It's fine. You made those moves to benefit Nawin's health, so I won't complain. Also," Miraya turns to Nawin to give him a soft smile "Compared to the pain he's been through... It would be utterly selfish and awful of me to say my pain for searching him is equal."
"Miraya..." Nawin whispers, looking at his dear friend, who is able to still give that beautiful and bright smile after all the hardship she had been through when they were separated. "Thank you, Miraya" Lucy speaks up, wearing a genuine smile "For returning to us... For returning to Big Bro." Miraya is surprised by the blonde's heartfelt comment before she beams "Of course, being reunited with him and all of you made all those lonely years worth it."
"Ah," Nawin place the spoon down on his empty plate then turns to look at everyone "I have an announcement to make," he says which puts him in the center of attention. "With much convincing from certain people," Nawin sends a knowing glance to Miraya then thinks of a certain young but wise girl they met earlier today. "I decided that I want to celebrate my birthday this year" "What?!" Lucy stands up and slams her hands on the table, a big grin form on her face "Really, Big bro?!" she asks while Yao, Jonathan, Akeno, and Asia all look on with shock.
Nawin gives a warm smile and nod "Yes... It's time I stopped being selfish. I know that in the past you all want badly to give me that birthday feeling, but I kept saying no. So, please..." Nawin bows his head at the stunned crowd "Sorry, Mom, Dad, and Lucy for all those times I refused to celebrate my birthday. I ruined a day that supposed to be a fun time for us all."
"N-Nawin," Yao whispers out in stutters by her son's out of nowhere apology, unable to find words to reply. 'Just like in the past,' Lucy thinks, glancing toward Miraya 'She has the ability to get brother's real emotion shown... Able to have him open up the problems clouding his mind.' "Son," Jonathan speaks which cause Nawin to look up at him to see his ever warm and kind smile "Don't apologize for that. We knew how hard that specific day was for you. There's no need for regret. You wanted nothing to do on that day, and we wholeheartedly followed your decision. Because it made your life easier and that's what we wanted."
Lucy lets out a bright grin "But, it is true that we were sad that we couldn't provide you those birthdays. So," she pumps her fist in the air "If you finally decide to have your birthday, Big bro! Then we shall make it the best one as possible!" "Yeah!" Asia cheers, joining her sister by pumping both her fists to the air "Onii-chan will have his birthday!"
"Mom," Nawin utters when seeing tears rolling down the woman's eyes "Why are you crying?" "I-It's just..." Yao goes quiet and brings her arms up to wipe the tears. Jonathan looks at his wife and sees so many raw emotions running through those brown eyes. Nawin gets out of his seat to walk toward his Mother, stopping by the side. "Are you really crying because I decided to finally celebrate my birthday?" Nawin asks with a soft smile, kneeling and takes the woman's hands into his.
"Oh, Sweetheart..." Yao tightens the grip on her son's hand then looks up to give a warm smile "It's... More than that, b-but... I am overjoyed" she says and pulls Nawin into a hug "Let's make this Friday the best day it can possibly be for you, Sweetheart" "Of course," Nawin whispers, wrapping his arms around his Mother.
Akeno watches the scene with confliction shining in her violet eyes. She glances at Miraya, who's smiling happily at the moment. In her heart, Akeno can't help but feel slightly hostile. The moment Miraya stepped in this house, everything felt different. Seeing the Culdos's presence can make Nawin this content. Furthermore, she was able to convince him to have his birthday, a task even Akeno herself couldn't accomplish. All this made her feel uncomfortable and almost insecure.
Time Skip
"Well," Nawin smile at Miraya "That wasn't so bad was it?" "Ehehehe, it wasn't bad at all." After finishing dinner, Miraya decided to leave right after she let out a loud yawn. Lucy and Asia wanted the Culdos to stay a bit longer, but Nawin seeing how tired his friend is after such an eventful and emotional day, decided it's best for her to head home and get the needed rest.
"By the way," Miraya tilts her head "You do know Friday is tomorrow, right?" "Really?" Nawin blinks before gasping in realization "Crap it is!" "Ehehehe, having so much fun lately that you are forgetting the dates?" Miraya asks with a teasing smirk "Ahaha, I blame you, Miraya."
"But," Nawin rubs the back of his neck "That's quite a tight schedule... My Birthday is tomorrow, and I haven't even introduced the others to you yet... Maybe it's a good idea we pushed the celebration t-" "No," Miraya firmly insert "That's out of the question. You are having your birthday on the precise day, Nawin." "Ok... Then how are we going to do this? You can't possibly get everything ready in time" Nawin state.
Miraya smiles merely and walks forward to deliver Nawin a kiss on the cheek. She steps back then gives a wink "You let me worry about that, darling. Just continue on your day like normal." With that said, Miraya turns around and departs to the Gray Lotus. She glances back to gives one last smile at the stunned Makasha "Good night, Nawin."
The soft night breeze blows pass the Makasha as his expression shift to one of fondness. With a gentle smile on his face, he looks at the departing figure of Miraya and utters "Goodnight... Miraya."
