*Clementine's POV*
Finally, after about 30 minutes of endless struggling, I was finally out of the house.
And I'm late for work.
I forgot my charger, I didn't eat breakfast, my hair isn't cooperating with me, I keep getting wedgies...
This day is all fucked as of now.
My fucking car keeps drifting.
I sighed and pulled over my car on a small street.
My car started dinging and a little red thing popped up next to the engine light.
"Fuck. Are you serious right now?" I rubbed my forehead in frustration.
I got out the car to check out the problem.
My tire was straight flat.
No wonder why it sounded like a horse was riding beside me.
I know I should've known that, but I'm tired as fuck.
I stood there looking at the tired for a good 10 minutes.
I sure am gonna get it today.
My boss will have a wonderful time drowning me in paperwork to make up for the time missed.
Then, the idea to call someone popped into my head.
But who?
"Call 1-800-Fix-A-Flat Today!" The radio coincidentally yelled from inside the car.
I looked up at the sky.
There must be a god somewhere.
I pulled my phone out and dialed the number.
"Hey, this is Louis at Mr.Fix A Flat. How may we help you today?" A man answered the phone with a happy tome.
"Well, my engine light is on and my tire is dead flat. " I looked down at it once more.
" Where are you? We'll send you help right away. " He sounded determined.
"You know where the Marsh house is? I'm right in behind it, on Hilton street. " I informed him looking at the street sign, then my watch.
"What kind of car is it? Need to make sure we bring the right tools. "
"Mercedes Benz C- class." Honestly, that's the only thing I know about my car.
"Hang tight. Someone is on their way, they'll be there in five minutes. " He most likely said that with a smile.
-----------------------
After about almost ten minutes, a van finally pulled up.
"You called for your engine light and a flat tire?" The female voice said from out the window.
"Yeah... hey. " I stared at the tire on my car then looked up at her.
"Hey." She gave me a small smile while getting out of the car.
"Let me take a look at it. " She crouched down at the tired to see where it had burst.
I glanced at her only to look at her instantly, shocked at how pretty she was.
Green eyes, blonde hair, a cute smile, a smirk probably would fit her better, her voice stood out to me... she was amazing.
I could swear I know her from somewhere.
"Don't I know you from somewhere?" she raised an eyebrow at me, rising from the tire with her eyes locked on me.
"Did you go to Ericson?" I attempted to trace my memory.
She nodded her head silently and stayed quiet while getting her tools out of the truck.
"I remember you. The Clementine Everett. " She chuckled.
"Violet? Right?" A small smile found itself on my face.
I remember this beauty from anywhere.
Her eyes always stood out to me.
"Yup. I'm surprised you remember. It's been what... 5 years? Damn. " She cringed at the amount of time that's past.
"You know what's weird?" I leaned back on a car with my arms crossed.
"What?" She replied, undoing the tire.
"We always used to stare, but neither had the balls to say anything to each other." I smiled at the memories.
"I mean, I have an excuse. I just thought you were gonna punch me or something because of how lame I was. " She shrugged her shoulders.
"I wasn't that bad. I'm a sweetheart. " I gave her a devilish smile.
" You broke a guys nose. I wasn't about to have that happen to me. " She laughed quietly.
"Oh, I never told you about that? Okay... So, that was the day he caught me staring... at you... and he started talking out of his ass, he jumped at me like I was supposed to be scared, and that automatically made me punch him. He provoked me, so he couldn't press charges. "
"Well, now I don't feel so threatened... I feel kinda... I dunno, happy?" She scratched the back of her neck.
"Glad to be of service." I smiled at her.
"Well, isn't that ironic." She said, getting the tire out of her trunk.
"Do me a favor. " She turned to me with a smirk.
"What?"
"Let me see your phone. Unlock it and go to the dial pad." She earned a confused look from me.
I did just as she asked though.
I handed her my phone and watched her type something in.
"Here's my number. If you wanna talk... catch up... got any questions about your car... wanna hang out... I'm your guy." She handed my phone back and continued on working on the tire.
I instantly saved her number, confused about what to make her contact name.
"I would kill for some chicken nuggets right about now. " I heard her mumble to herself and wiped her forehead.
" Chicken nugget girl." I whispered to myself and typed it in my phone.
I just stood there, looking at my phone, looking at her number and I couldn't help but smile.
---------------------
"All done. This one's on the house. Call me around 6. That's what time I get settled in at home usually. " She smiled at me, wiping her hands off with a dirty towel.
"Will do. Have a good day. " I waved to her whilst she climbed in her truck and shut the door.
"You too. And I'm serious, call me. " She yelled out the window, halfway up the street.
--------------
And that's how Violet and I met... Again.
Through a bad morning.
How anyone would least expect it.
We've been together for quite some time now...
About 4 years.
I'm so glad that I had a flat tire that day.
"AJ GET READY FOR SCHOOL! WE DON'T HAVE ALL DAY!" Violet yelled up the steps.
"I AM! I CAN'T FIND MY SOCKS, I NEED HELP!" He screamed back as if he didn't know how much I hated when they yelled in the house.
I grew up in a quiet house.
The noise was rare with my family, with such a huge house, you expect everyone to be yelling up the steps, but they always took the long way, walking up the steps and bursting through doors.
But not in this house.
They LOVE to scream, and if I'm being honest, I'm getting into that habit as well.
"PUT ON A PAIR OF MY SOCKS! THEY'RE IN THE DRAW IN ME AND MOMMYS ROOM!" Violet continued to yell.
I looked up at her with a smile.
"I'M READY!" AJ yelled, running down the steps.
"Alright, I love you. Have a good day. I'll call you when I get to work... Maybe later all of us can hang out and watch a movie. " She gave me a small kiss, making AJ playfully cringe.
" I hope you have a good day, and I'll have a good day in school... today. I love you. " Aj planted a kiss on my cheek.
"I love you both. I hope both of you enjoy your day. Be safe, please. " I watched them walk out the door.
Finally, I have the house to myself.
Well, except for Rosie.
I miss them already.
Time to sleep.
