A sound of a roaring engine of a powerful bike screech through the silent night. A familiar red Ducati bike race within the dark and empty street. The sky is utterly pitch black, and the only thing lighting the roads are the dim lamp posts. No cars, people, or animal can be seen. On the bike is none other than Nawin Makasha, with his glowing red eyes watching the path forward. He isn't wearing a helmet, letting the cold night air blow pasts him, lifting his smooth black hair back. With eyes sharpen, he pulls the clutch, pushing the bike to its maximum speed, using all of its 214-horsepower engine.
The vehicle blast forward at an insane speed and the teenager riding it did not flinch, instead remain stoic with those red sharp eyes piercing onwards to the dark path. Unable to catch it in the speed he was driving, Nawin misses a glowing white figure stood on the left side of the road. The figure of a familiar girl dressed in a white sundress watches the Makasha race past her.
Continuing blazing through the empty street, Nawin lets out a gasp when the white figure materializes in front of him. Eyes widen in frantic, heartrate freeze in horror, the Makasha act hastily and pulls the break then twist the handle all the way to the right to avoid hitting the girl, but with such a hasty movement, he instantly losses control. The bike goes flying sideward while sending Nawin to the air, hovering over the girl before viciously plummeting to the ground on his back, his head bounces off the asphalt. The bike crashes at the edge of the street, its parts come loose and explode from the body, cluttering the ground.
Daze, the Makasha clench the back of his head in pain, grunting while slowing sitting up. Blinking rapidly to adjust his vision, Nawin snaps his sight up, and it widens when seeing her standing there, wearing that breathtaking smile. However, what got the Makasha's attention most is her bright white sundress is covered in blood. The sight immediately causes Nawin to wince in pain, trying to suppress that horrid memory.
Shakily returning to his feet, Nawin takes steps forward while reaching his right arm out to the girl. "Uh?!" he halts when noticing every step he took to get close, more fresh blood starts appearing on the once beautiful white sundress. "Stop!" he pleads and breaks into a sprint, but by the second steps the ground opens and swallows Nawin whole, dropping him into a world of a dark abyss.
Nawin opens his eyes, and it widens at the sudden change of scenery. Moving his head around, he finds himself inside a moving bus. Outside of the bus shows nothing but darkness, driving aimlessly in the abyss with no directions. The vehicle is utterly deserted of passengers along with the driver. Nawin remains calm and starts stepping forward, heading toward the front of the bus to exit it. What the Makasha isn't aware of is at each window he walks past. The reflection of her follows his every movement, like a perfect mirror.
Nawin stops and turns to the door; his eyes were inches away from looking at the reflection on the window of the door before it opens, forbidding him to see her. Nawin walks out of the bus, and the whole scene transforms once again. Slowing reopening his eyes, the Makasha finds himself standing in the middle of an unforgettable white hallway.
Cold sweats forms, heart rate increases, Nawin silently gulps and takes steps forward to the last room at the end of the hallway. Stopping in front of it, Nawin looks up and sees the sign "A25..." he whispers and slowly brings his right arm up to grab the cold metal handle. Taking a deep breath, Nawin snaps his eyes open and slides the door open. In a horrific shock, Nawin's expression turns to stun when seeing her standing right in front of him the moment the door is opened.
The girl collapses forward, but Nawin brings his arms forward to catch her while dropping to his knees. Heart rate increases more, and his breather grows rapid. Nawin looks at the girl's face and breaks in tears when meeting with those dead and dull purple eyes. Clenching the cold and pale body in his arms, Nawin moves his head up to let out a scream of anguish and sorrow.
"Guh!" snapping his eyes open, Nawin sits up and quickly scan his surrounding to find himself in his bedroom. Seeing that it was all a nightmare, he quickly calms his breathing and heart rate, resting his right hand on his chest and closing his eyes. After a minute, the Makasha can get both under control then slowly reopens his eyes while dropping his arm down on the blanket.
"Damn it," he silently cusses in anger for having those nightmares. Nawin glance to the right and see the beautiful figure still sleeping just beside him. Watching Akeno's peaceful face relaxes the Makasha and brings a faint smile on his face. He leans to the side to softly peck the Himejima's soft lip before turning around to leave the bed quietly. Nawin peers at the clock to see it's six in the morning 'I need to meet Rias at the bakery in thirty minutes... Should take a quick shower and grab an energy bar before meeting her there.'
Time Skip
Lazily taking a bite of the chocolate flavored energy bar, Nawin strolls through the quiet neighborhood considering it is still very early in the weekend. About to take another bite, a yawn suddenly escapes from the Makasha's mouth. "Man," he grunts, blinking "Getting up at six in the weekend is just not my cup of tea" he utters before continuing eating the snack.
Not long after, Nawin has already finished his snack and toss it in a nearby street bin. He looks forward and spots an unmistakable crimson-haired girl in the distance, standing in front of the bakery, waiting for someone. Nawin moderately makes his way toward her with hands in pockets.
Sensing a familiar magic signature from behind, Rias perks and turns around, before smiling brightly when seeing the Makasha. The Gremory is dress in a long-sleeve black shirt that has a familiar red brand stitched on the right front of the shirt. For the bottom is a simple gray tight jean that held in place by a red leather belt and to finish it off is a black shoe with red outline strips.
"Morning, Nawin-kun!" Rias beams and hands him over a white plastic cup "Starbucks was on the way here, so I picked up a drink for you" "What is it?" Nawin ask, taking the cup and looks at it, seeing it is a hot drink by feeling the heat "Cappuccino" "Do you know m—" "Add in a fair amount of sugar and get rid of the foam" Rias swiftly inserts and gets a questionable look. "Don't forget your girlfriend is my best friend, Nawin-kun" she replies with a wink "She loves talking about you, and I love learning new things about my sweet little brother!" she gushes.
Nawin rolls his eyes and takes a sip of the hot drink. Bringing the cup down, a pleasant sigh release from his mouth "I needed that," "Hehe, I knew you would since you are not a morning person" "Yeah, I should be in bed, but today is a special day for Akeno" he states and looks up at the Gremory "And I plan on making it the best birthday she will ever have" "I know you will make it happen" Rias reply, smiling "Don't forget that you have me and the rest helping you, Nawin-kun" "Yeah, I know."
Taking another sip of the hot drink, Nawin gets a moment to glance at the Gremory's shirt, more specifically that red insignia. Bringing the cup down, "Nice shirt," he compliments and gets a big grin from the girl "Hehe, knew you'd liked it" "The Brand of Sacrifice... Anything related to Berserk I love" "Have you fetch the latest volume?" "... If you are talking about the English version, then I have not. As you know I've been busy" "I don't get it, why don't you just fetch the Japanese version? It's been out ages ago, and I know you can read Japanese" "I could but doing that would ruin my collection which is all English" "Oh, understandable" Rias nod "Would be aggravating to mess up that collection" "Indeed."
A mischievous smirk suddenly makes way on the Gremory's face "With this being the case I have the power to spoil it for you!" she says, "You dare spoil me," Nawin reply, his tone grows dark "I'll teleport to your Manor and burn your room" "Guh!" Rias gasp in horror, taking a few steps back "T-that's beyond c-cruel!" "Yeah, that means all your collection of manga, figurines, and DVDs turn to ashes" Nawin add, smirking evilly.
Rias shakes her head "Alright!" she exclaims, lifting her arms forward "I won't spoil anything, I was honestly joking" she quickly adds, smiling sheepishly "Yeah, I bet you were going to spoil something," Nawin retort, unconvinced "It was only a tiny part for fun" "No tiny spoil even, keep it shut" "Alright, alright."
Nawin blinks, taking a sip of the cappuccino while examining closely at the Gremory's face "Are you wearing makeup?" he questions after bringing the cup down "What?" Rias place a hand on her chest in an offending manner "Noooo, there's no way I, a mere beautiful and sexy girl, could possibly wear makeup!" she exclaims. Rolling his eyes, Nawin turns to the bakery and heads toward the entrance door "Stop stealing Urahara Kisuke's quote and get in the bakery" he utters while the girl behind giggles before closely following him into the building.
Considering it is still very early and the shop just opened, Nawin and Rias spot not a single customer in the room. They look forward and sees no one currently at the counter. "Should ring the bell," Rias advice, indicating at the notifying bell placed on the table "That's why it's there" Nawin reply, walking toward the counter. Stopping in front of it, he brings the left hand down to ring the bell a couple of time and patiently wait while Rias decide to take a moment to look at all the delicious desserts shown in the display cases on the counter.
Just half a minute past from the bell being rang, a middle-aged woman pops out from the red curtains and stop behind the counter. She offers a bright and welcoming smile at the two. The black apron she wears holds some flower powder to indicate she was working on some doughs. "Welcome," she greets then looks at Nawin and Rias before a realization gleam in her brown eyes "Ah, yes! Nawin-san and Rias-san it's good to see you" "Likewise," Nawin says mannerly while Rias offers a bright smile "Morning to you, Sako-san."
Sako smile at the polite teenagers "You are here to pick up your order correct?" "Yes," Nawin nod "Is it ready?" "Of course!" the woman exclaims with a grin "We finished it late yesterday, and it's been resting in the refrigerator the whole night. Let me go fetch it for you" she asserts and head back through the curtain.
Rias stop beside her friend, crossing her arms underneath her chest "We'll take the cake back to Issei's place and leave it in the refrigerator" "Sounds good." Nawin turns to his watch "It's seven o'clock... An hour before I need to wake Akeno up and take her on a date" "You have till the evening so take your time," Rias reminds "You two should return home around five or six depending on how things proceed. However, I'm sure by then all of us will be done with the preparation" "Got it" "Hmm," Rias stare at the Makasha's face "Are you nervous?" she questions and gets a blank stare in return "Why would I be nervous?" "Worried something will go wrong" "If something does go wrong then I'll teleport every one of you into a volcano" Nawin threatens which gets a giggle out of the Gremory "Aww, it's adorable to see you care so much for her birthday!" Rias says and brings her right arm up to pinch the Makasha's cheek softly.
Nawin's eyebrow twitches and gently slap the Gremory's hand away "Control yourself, will you?" he states, sighing and returns to look over the counter. Not a moment later, Sako emerges from the curtain with a large white box on her arms. Taking a deep breath, she gently lays the box down on the counter "Hehe," she wipes the sweat and chuckles "The thing is pretty heavy, but you did request the biggest size. Must be a massive party you are throwing!" "It is," Rias giggles "We have lots of guests" "Ah, I see."
The top of the box holds a plastic glass which allows Nawin to look through it and examines what the final product of the cake looks. Sako sees this and beams "So, does it match with what you described, Nawin-san?" "... It does," he replies with a faint smile then turns to her "Thank you" "Hehehe, it's no problem at all. My staff and I had a fun time making it since we rarely get to create a cake of that size."
"Nawin-kun you carry the cake while I pay," Rias says and gets a questionable look "You sure?" "I don't mind paying for it. Now, grab the cake! We can't leave it like that, or it'll melt" "Alright." The Makasha easily picks the box up and make way to the door while Rias quickly brings her purse out and pays the woman. Sako place the money in the cash register then looks up, giving one last smile at the teenagers "Have a great birthday party!" "Thank you," both replies before exiting the bakery.
Hyoudou's Household
Still asleep in the bed is Issei Hyoudou, hugging the bolster pillow tightly to his chest and snoring away. A big, goofy grin worn on his lip "Hehehe, Rias-chan... Stop teasing me like that" he whispers and giggles perversely. "Man... What a sad state of affair," a distinct deep and firm voice comments "Hehe, I find it highly amusing" a lighter voice reply, giggling.
Standing at the side of the bed is Kokoro and Elise, both girls staring at their sleeping King. One being amuse while the other has a hand place on her face, sighing in annoyance. "Alright," Kokoro remove her hand from her face to look at the sleeping Hyoudou "Time to wake him up. Rias and Nawin shouldn't be too far off from here" "Are you going to do this the gentle or the rough way?" Elise asks and gets a smirk in response "The rough way it is," she stated, snickering.
Kokoro bends down to grab the edge of the bed then stands to lift the entire thing up just enough to send the Hyoudou rolling down and crashes on the ground. "Gahhh!" a scream erupts, and Issei shoots to his feet, turning around to see the bed is drop and reveal Kokoro and Elise. "Really?!" he shouts, glaring at the girls, more specifically his Queen "Quickest way to wake you up," Kokoro release the bed and shrugs "It's either that or a bucket of cold water, and I know which one is worse "I..." the Hyoudou pause and sigh "Yeah, I prefer this over the cold water."
Issei rubs his eyes and looks around to see his girlfriend is missing "Rias already went out?" "Yeah," Elise nod "She and Nawin are currently fetching the cake." Kokoro jumps over the bed and lands in front of her King, startling him "Now," she grabs his wrist and drags him to the bathroom "Everyone is already downstairs so go shower and get ready, Issei" she states, pushing him into the bathroom before grabbing the knob and pulls the door shut.
"What are you, my Mom?" Issei voice shouts from the other end of the door "I am your Queen, and it is my duty to get you primed! So, go shower this instance!" Kokoro exclaims, raising her voice even higher. Not a moment later, the girls hear the water running down on the tub. Elise sniggers while Kokoro smirk in victories then heads to exit the room "Let's head down, Elise" "Understood."
Living Room
After done showering and dressed in a plain red t-shirt and black pants, Issei descended the stairs and is greeted with quite a chaotic sight in his living room. Right in the center of the room holds a couple of large carbon boxes that is opened to show numerous amount of decoration that is birthday themed. Some decorations spread across the carpet with Misako, Wendy, Ravel, and Elise circling it, looking and choosing which ones they should use and which do not.
Issei's eyebrow twitched when his sight sat on one of his couches that are currently occupied by a sleeping Riser Phenex, who is utterly ignoring the tasked placed on him with is helping the girls and instead snoozing away. A sudden sound comes from the kitchen that catches the Hyoudou's attention, and he quickly jumps over the stairs to land on the hallway. He stands up and looks toward the right to show the kitchen, and it's even worse in there than in the living room.
The remaining girls are all in there. Koneko and her group that is tasked with dessert are already preparing to make their selected desserts, and from what Issei sees with Asia stirring cream with a whisk in a large brown bowl, he does not doubt that she is preparing some chocolate mousse for the party. Turning sights at the other girl, Koneko, who is opening a bag of chocolate chip and pouring it in a bowl in front of her. No doubt is making some delicious chocolate chip cookies. Then moving to Gasper, Issei sees him holding a list that undoubtedly holds all the recipes the girls need, pretty much giving them instruction and be a helping hand if need be.
Issei smile a bit at the youngest of the group being so energetic at the task and helping each other with joy. An adorable smile can be seen on all the three faces. He stops in the room and turns to the other side to see Akame and her team busy sited at the table that contains an overwhelming amount of plastic bags that contains all the ingredients they'll need to today's dinner. All the girls including Yuuto are sited and discussing on what they should cook and what role each girl have.
"You girls seem busy," Issei says, stopping beside the table, making his presence known "I'm here," Yuuto points at himself "Did you see me hesitate, blondie?" Issei replies with a smirk and gets a soft glare from the Knight while the girls snigger a bit. "Busy we are," Akame state "We are still discussing on what to cook" "Is it that hard?" Issei question "Concerns is that we might pick some dishes that Akeno may not like" Kokoro informs "Then just asked Nawin" Issei suggest "He'll surely know what Akeno's taste is."
Every girl at the table blinks then either facepalms or legit drop their head on the table. "Of course," Senna grunts "Can't believe that slipped our minds" Momo murmurs. "Wow," Issei cross his arms "I hope you girls actually already have some dishes in mind" "We do," Akame turns a note she's holding around to show "So far we got four that everyone agrees will be great" "That's good, then wait for Nawin to return and asks him for other suggestions" Issei state.
"So," the Hyoudou start, scratching his head and look at the girls "Exactly how long have you all been here?" "Approximately one hour," Akame answers "We were busy while you were snoozing off upstairs" Xenovia bluntly state "Hey, what about Riser in the living room!" Issei exclaims in his defense "He's snoozing right now" "He helped the girls with moving all the stuff here this morning, Issei-kun" Yuuto informs and immediately, the Hyoudou depressingly drops his head.
"Morning, everyone!" a cheerful voice joins the kitchen that causes all to turn and see Rias along with Nawin entering. All eyes instantly focus on the huge box that the Makasha is carrying "Wow!" Xenovia utters, not expecting the cake to be this big and with the same reaction coming from others in the room, all are having the same thought. "Isn't that too big?" Issei question, watching Rias opening the refrigerator that is fortunately just big enough to fit the cake "Better there's too much than too little" Nawin replies and sets the cake in before Rias shuts the door.
Without looking, Nawin extends his right arm out to grab a certain adorable girl by the collar of her shirt and pulls her up, off of the ground "No you don't," he utters and glance down to see a pouting Koneko, who's was trying to sneak a look at the cake. "Hehe," Rias giggles and kneel down to her Rook "Wait until evening, Koneko-chan" she says and poke the girl's nose before the Makasha sets her down and softly ruffles her hair "It looks delicious, I'll tell you that" he informs and gets a smile from the Toujou.
Nawin turns to the group at the table and raises an eyebrow when seeing Akame holding a notepad and a pencil, on the other hand, indicating to him that they are still in the process of thinking of what dishes to cook. "What's the holdup?" he asks, removing his hand from Koneko's head and makes way to the table "They have trouble on picking what dishes Akeno would like" Issei informs. Nawin stops beside Akame and gesture for the note which she offers, allowing him to take a look at it "... All the stuff in here are fine" he informs which garner lots of relief sigh from the girls at the table. Nawin returns the notepad to Akame then shifts to the rest "Add in Tempura, Gyoza, and Pork Fried Rice then your set. Those three dishes are some of her favorites, especially Tempura and leave the Pork Fried Rice to my Mom, since she makes the best ones and its Akeno's favorite dish from her" he states while Akame writes everything down on the notepad.
"Hehehe, thanks, Nawin-kun" Senna exhales in relief "You saved us," "Should have talked to me earlier about this" he replies, "Even I," Rias adds "It's no big deal." "Guess we were so focused on the task and brainstorming ideas that it never came up" Kokoro explains "That seems to be the case," Akame place the notepad down and nod at the Matashi's assumption.
"I was wondering," Momo speaks up, shifting to the Makasha "What will you be planning on the date, Nawin-kun?" she questions "It's going to be a long one, and I'm worried it will be tough for you" "Thanks for the concern, but everything will be fine," Nawin firmly state, smiling "It's Akeno," Issei insert, chuckling "She will have almost the whole day to spend with Nawin-kun finally. Trust me" Rias smile "It will be what she wants for this specific day, to spend her time with only Nawin-kun, so it's impossible for anything but an excellent time for her in this date."
"The beauty of love," Asia comments and sigh in wonderment. Yuuto and Xenovia sneak a glance at each other before blushing before quickly look away. "Will you be greeting her with a 'Happy Birthday'?" Kokoro questions "Or are you just going to ignore it?" "My suggestion would be neglecting the fact," Rias insert "Really?" Senna tilts her head, looking a bit conflicted by the idea "That seems a bit mean, wouldn't she be expecting it?" "Highly doubt it because she probably thinks they will not be a birthday this year with how none of us has even brought the topic up. That may sound bad, but I also think she is fine with no birthday. This date Nawin-kun is preparing is pretty much will be a birthday for her, in her mind that is."
"What exactly happened to make Akeno-senpai adamant about celebrating her birthday?" Issei asks and immediately regret it when seeing the look of solemn form on Rias's face "It's a touchy and personal subject, Issei" "O-oh... I understand."
Hearing this brings conflicted thoughts in Nawin's mind. A subject that he is forced to push back for so long or it will continue to bug him to the point it could put his relationship with Akeno in jeopardy. The very subject involving Akeno's past and the reason for her not revealing any of it to him. After months of being together, building trust and love for one another, this subject is still something that's been neglected, and even though Nawin doesn't show it, it is bordering him in some level. To him, this subject is the thing that's holding their relationship back in some manner. He has revealed shards of his pasts to Akeno but gets nothing in return.
Seeing where his mind is heading, Nawin quickly snaps out of it, not allowing it to ruin the plan for today. "Nawin-kun," Rias calls out, catching his attention "Yeah?" "You should head back home; it's almost time" "Right," Nawin exhales and leans off of the wall. "Good luck, Nawin-kun" Yuuto bids with the rest following suit, wishing the Makasha luck on his date "Thanks, everyone." Nawin heads to the doorway, but before leaving turns to the group "Work hard and please," he says, surprising everyone to hear the word 'please' came from the Makasha's mouth "Make it the best birthday possible." With that said, Nawin exits the room, leaving the slightly stunned crowd behind.
Rias can't help but smile fondly, seeing just how much the Makasha wants this to be great. "Alright," she speaks in a commanding tone that causes everyone to turn to her "You heard, Nawin-kun!" Rias lift her right fist in the air "Let's not disappoint him! Let's work together and make this the best birthday party as it can be!" "Yeaahh!" everyone cheers in unison.
Makasha Household
Entering the house, Nawin first heads to the kitchen and as predicted, sees his Mother prepping for breakfast. Yao place all the ingredients at the counter then turns when hearing a footstep from behind. A bright smile form on her lip when meeting eyes with her son "Morning, Nawin" she greets "Morning, Mom. You just waked?" "Twenty minutes ago, yes." Yao chuckles in humor "It's very odd to see you woken up this early" she comments "Yeah," Nawin smirk "I would love nothing but to be in bed right now, but today is a special day," "Indeed, are you prepared?" "Yeah, going to head upstairs and wake her up. However, before that, I wanted to inform that you should head to Issei's place and inform them to head here the moment Akeno and I are out of the house" "Sounds easy," Yao nods "I'll be helping with the cooking?" "Yeah, it will be a big help."
"Morning, you two" Jonathan walks in, yawning loudly, stretching his arms in the air "Morning, Honey" "Morning, Dad" Nawin reply, turning to his old man "Dad, you mind helping the girls set up the decorations?" he asks. Jonathan blinks by the sudden request but nods along "Sure, I'm free for today" "Thanks."
"Anything I can do?" Lucy pops her head from the hallway before entering the kitchen, still wearing her pajamas. Nawin smiles warmly when kneeling in front of the young blonde girl and place a hand on her shoulder "I do actually. It's an essential task that I trust in you to complete" he informs, and Lucy's eyes gleam at this "Oh, what is it?" "I want a special guest to also be here for us, and the only way I know to get in contact with her is through our Godfather."
Jonathan raised an eyebrow when hearing this, knowing to whom his son is referring to. "You want Gabriel to be here?" he questions and receives a nod "Yeah, I never did get a chance to catch up with her, and I want to. Plus, considering the relationship I have with Akeno I am sure she'll be happy to be here to celebrate" "True," Yao joins in, nodding. "Moreover, I'm sure she would want to get to know Akeno better considering she is dating her Godson" "She's part of the family" Nawin state "And Akeno is our family, so I want her here." "All right," Jonathan smile along with Yao "Sounds good to us, son."
"So that means I have to go to the Fallen Angel's home?" Lucy asks, tilting her head "Grago was it?" "Yes," Nawin nod "Have you been there?" "Haven't gone in, but Teach did show me what it looked like in the distance once, so I know where it is" "That's good." "Be careful, Lucy" Jonathan speaks, his tone turns serious along with the expression on his face "Even though the supernatural races hold the peace treaty, it doesn't mean all agree with it. Especially the Fallen Angel side, lots of them are against the idea" "Not many devils can just freely walked in there," Yao says with a look of confliction in her face, then turns to her son "Nawin, I don't think you should assign her with this tasks" "It's fine, Mom!" Lucy cuts in "I am just going there to meet with the Old man" "It will be fine, Yao" Jonathan inserts in a soothing tone "If any trouble does arise you know Azazel will take notice and immediately comes in to take care of it" "... All right," Yao exhales and smile "Just be careful, ok?" "Will do!"
With that said, Lucy exits the kitchen to head to the bathroom for a shower. "She'll be fine, Mom," Nawin says "Trust me," he stands back up and looks at her "I wouldn't assign this task to her if I'd known it is too dangerous" "Yeah, I know. It's just that girl can be a troublemaker" she states and gets a chuckle from the two boys in the room "She may, but" Nawin smirk "She's a powerful troublemaker that can take care of herself" he declares then exits the kitchen to head upstairs.
Slowly opening the door into his room, Nawin quietly steps in and gently close the door behind. He looks forward at the beauty still slumbering on his bed. A loving and warm smile spread across the Makasha's face as he makes way to the side of the bed. He stops to look at the snoozing Himejima, her face so peaceful and radiant with elegance and beauty. Her hair is, so the soft dark locks are spread around, furthering enhancing her beauty in his eyes.
Nawin brings his right hand down, placing it on Akeno's soft cheeks then gently stroke it. Her face twitches by the gesture before does bright violet eyes open to the world and sets at his darker shade orbs. A smile immediately makes way to Akeno's face "Good morning, Nawin-kun" she softly utters, bringing her right hand out of the blanket to grasp his hand on her cheek, softly squeezing it "Morning, Akeno" Nawin reply, giving a loving smile "Slept well?" "I always sleep best with you by my side" "Ahaha, glad to hear."
Nawin moves his hand to grab a firm hold on the Himejima's then set to pull her up into a sitting position. Still holding her hand, Nawin then takes a seat by the edge of the bed and looks up at her "Remember that I told you that we should be going on another date when both of us have the time?" he asks and inwardly smiles when that gleam of excitement shines in those violet orbs. Akeno smile "Yes, at the masquerade party we discussed it" "Mhm-hmm, so, Akeno" Nawin pulls her hand near him to give a soft kiss then looks up at her "Let today be our second date" "Really?" Akeno asks a big smile to break out from her face "Yep, it's been long overdue" Nawin state.
Can't contain her excitement, Akeno gives her lover a hug, which he whole-heartedly returns, then watches her pull back and leave the bed to jog toward the bathroom "I'll be ready in five minutes!" she informs and shuts the door to go take a shower. Nawin can only chuckle then turns his head to the window, looking at the perfect day outside with a bright blue sky and the brilliant sun shining down on Kuoh.
Time Skip
Nawin decided to wait for his lover at the front yard, just leaning on the fences, arms crossed, and staring at the peaceful neighborhood. A sound of the house front door opens which makes Nawin turn to see Akeno stepping out and close the door behind. She dawns a purple knit top that is long-sleeves, cuffed denim black shorts, and to finish it off with a brown faux fur ankle boots.
"Nice clothes," Nawin compliments, raising his right arm up "You look beautiful, Akeno... Gonna make lots of men jealous in this date" "Ufufuf," Akeno giggle at the jest and grasp her lover's hand, stopping by his side. She turns to him and winks "Sadly for them; I am only reserve for you until the very end" "And I to you," Nawin reply, giving a soft kiss on the top of the Himejima's hand.
Nawin lowers their hand to the side then guides Akeno out of the front yard, closing the gate along the way before walking toward the east. Heading east means walking right past the Hyoudou's house and Akeno, of course, take notice, looking at the windows to see it is curtain shut "Hmm, wonder if Rias and Issei are awake?" she utters. "It's the weekend," Nawin speaks, smiling "I'm pretty sure they are lazing around in bed contemplating on what they will do for the day" "Ufufufu," Akeno giggles and nod "That could very well be the case with those two."
Akeno brings her arm over, having both hands holding the Makasha's right arm. "So," she starts, turning to her lover and beams "Where are we heading?" "You haven't had breakfast, right?" "Correct," "Then lets head in the city and have some delicious breakfast" "Sounds lovely. Can we have brunch for lunch?" "Oh, looks like two great minds think alike," Nawin state, making Akeno look at him with confusion, then sees a smirk form on his face "Because I already booked us in a lovely brunch for lunch in a five-star hotel." "Oh my," Akeno giggles and leans her head on the Makasha's arm "You are going all out, Nawin-kun" "That I am."
With that, the couple starts heading to the bus station to catch a ride to the center of Kuoh.
Grago
With the humongous and tall metal walls protecting the Fallen Angel's Capital. The construction design had to create a door, and instead of going high-tech like most things inside the walls, the designer and workers along with the leaders decide to hold an old fashion but durable sizeable black wood two doors. Considering there's a massive mountain occupying the Capital's south, acting as another shield for it and where the military forces main base is built. There are only three entries in Grago. One in the North, East, and West with twenty-four seven stationed guards patrolling, fully armed for any suspicious activity or hostile visitors.
Grago's defenses are famous throughout the faction and are the strongest compared to the Devils or Angels. Like their relative, the Angels. The Fallen Angels lack the numbers corresponds to Devils, but their advanced technology does put their Capital in a better defensive stance compared to them. Thanks to their brilliant Governer's mind, Azazel.
"What the..." a member of the squad stationed at the north entrance utters when spotting a bright blue light in the distance, flying in the sky and heading to the Capital. "Ready your arms, men" the captain of the squad orders, stepping in front while the soldiers behind, bring their rifles up. The figure in the sky comes down, and the captain still keeps his right arm up, signaling his men not to fire just yet. His sharp green eyes look closely to see a young blonde girl possessing those blazing blue devil-wings and looking closely at her stance and expression; she isn't holding any hostile intent.
Lucy lands perfectly on the ground with the right knee down and both fists plant on the earth. Slowly, she raises up to stand straight as the flaming wings from beside disperse into nothingness. She currently dressed in a simple blue t-shirt with black flamming patterns stitched on it, long and tight black teens, and black boots with sapphire color soles.
"State your business, Devil" the Captain dutifully questions, his tone not harsh or hateful but monotone. Lucy gives a quick salute and smiles "Morning, Officer! I am here to see my dear Godfather" she informs "Godfather?" the man repeats, not expecting that kind of answer "How does a Devil even have a Godfather here?!" one of the lower rank soldiers question from behind.
Lucy turns to the specific man and gives him a dull stare "Dude, do you even know what Godfather means? It doesn't involve blood-related" "W-what?" the man utters, confused while the other sighs at exasperation their naive friend. "Who is your Godfather then?" the Caption questions. "I'm sure you all are familiar with him" Lucy state, resting her right hand on her hip "Azazel is his name" "What?!" the other member of the soldiers shouts with outrage, aiming his rifle right at the Makasha's head "Don't you dare insult our Leader with such insulting manner! He would never be a Godfather of a devil!" "Yeah, utter bullshit!" the other shouts and soon all the soldiers have their weapon aim at the vital spots.
Lucy's body tense seeing this, ready to go to battle if the situation arises. "Halt, men..." a soothing and sharp voice joins in that cause all to turn and is stun to see a familiar red cloak blowing by the breeze, Akari Hirai stood behind them, the Crimson Reaper of Grago.
Seeing Akari did not put Lucy at ease. Honestly, it just makes her more tense and anxious. Remembering just the war, she witnessed that woman went through against her brother at the tournament. The soldiers along with their captain immediately drop to their knees in respect "Greetings, General Akari!" they shout in a union as the woman walks past them and stop in front of the Makasha.
Akari and Lucy hold a sharp stare at each other, not breaking contact. "Return to your duties, men" the General commands "I'll handle our little visitor here," "Understood," the Captain reply and gesture his men back to their posts, leaving the women to themselves.
Akari cross her arms underneath her chest, her sharp eyes don't wain "What are you doing here?" she questions "To see Azazel," "Reasons to meet him" "Family related, sorry" Lucy reply with a shrug, not showing intimidated by the Reaper "Oh... Interesting" a voice came from behind.
Lucy freeze dead-cold and snap her body around to find Akari standing behind her, wearing a menacing smirk "If you are meeting Azazel then let me guide you to him," Akari state, stuffing her hands inside the coat's pocket before striding past the shock Makasha.
Lucy snaps back and turns serious, watching the Hirai's back 'I'll need to keep my guard up' she states in mind before following the General.
Entering the Capital, seeing what it like walking through the street of Grago. Lucy was in awe at just the density of the place and just how high-tech everything is. Noen lights are used quite heavily to brighten up considering most all the time dense cloud or rain cover Grago. Unlike Vesarima that's more old times with woods, cement, bricks, and at some occasion metals being used to build buildings. Grago exclusively used strong metals or glass. Many screens are implanted in the large building to show either advertisement or television shows. Holographic graphic display roams around the building, showing either advertisement items or actual people talking at one another about news or entertainment subjects.
'Unreal... It's like the world of cyberpunk I would see in the games or movies' she thinks, amaze to believe that many of these come from her Godfather's inventions 'The Oldman really is much of a genius as he likes to proclaim' she admits, impressed. The young girl gazes around at the people, seeing them using phones or tablets for many reasons. Something that can't be seen in Vesarima considering stuff such as phones and tablets doesn't exist. Some even are sited on the bench, typing away in laptops that hold a futuristic appearance that won't be seen in the human world.
Lucy continues following Akari through the busy streets, but instead of barging through people. Lucy noticed that when the civilians spot Akari with her, they wordlessly stray away from her path, giving her space to stride through without difficulty. The Makasha can't decide if this action is made either by respect or fear.
Not long after, Lucy sees a massive skyscraper coming to view. "That's called 'Blades Eye'" Akira state "Where Azazel lives and work," "Why is it called that?" Lucy questions "Because that building is tall enough to show the entire view of Grago. The reason, why it's called Blade, is a private matter" Akira informs and glances back to give a smirk that irks the young Makasha.
The two women enter the spacious and luxurious lobby inside the skyscraper. The secretaries give a respectful bow to the General behind the desk before returning to their duties. Akari ignores the gesture and stride toward the end of the lobby where the elevators are. Akari presses the call button on the wall and turns to face Lucy "There, now just get your ass in and press floor hundred" "Thanks..." Lucy says though with a strained tone "Why did you help me exactly?" "Because I got some free time spared on my hands" Akari answers then turns around, heading toward the exit. Lucy hears the elevators doors open "One more thing," she halts when hearing Akari calling, making her turn to see that menacing smirk "Give your dear brother a message from me. Tell him that when we meet again, I want to continue where we left off, but this time I'll be going all out" she informs, before turning her head forward and resumes walking.
Lucy stood still, ingesting what the Hirai just relayed to her. Even though she recognizes how powerful her brother is, Lucy still feels unease when thinking of him battling against that woman. Deep down she holds this feeling that if the two fought, her brother would come out defeated.
Shaking her head, Lucy quickly gets rid of such thoughts and turns to the elevator, entering inside it and turns to all the buttons for every floor in the building. Bringing her right arm up, Lucy presses the highest button that's placed right at the top, separated from the rest that is aligned correctly.
The doors slide shuts, and the elevator goes up through the building, speeding up each floor faster than regular lifts. It didn't even take a minute until Lucy reach her destination at the highest level. The elevator stops, but the door didn't open which garners confusion. She looks around and spots a camera at the top edge of the ceiling looking at her.
"Give an adorable smile to the camera, and I'll let you in," an unmistakable voice booms from the speaker. "What?" Lucy utters, eyebrow twitch in annoyance by the sudden request "It's either that or I sent you down" Azazel replies, chuckling. The Makasha glares at the camera then smirks "How about I blow up this door?" "... You're no fun." The doors open, allowing Lucy to steps into the dim lit office. She looks forward and sees Azazel looking at her behind his office with a dull expression, clearly unamused by the threat. Seeing this, Lucy gives a bright and adorable smile to her Godfather, who grins, finding that smile to brighten up his office and day. "There we go," he gives a clap, chuckling "Wasn't so hard" "I've been forced to smile like that for a long time," Lucy state, her smile returns to normal as she walks toward the desk "It's not fun to me to force it out" "Ah, I see, sorry" "It's fine, really."
Lucy takes a seat on one of the two large leather black chairs placed in front of the desk. Azazel claps his hands together; elbows rest on the counter, chin rest on the top of the hands and looks at his Goddaughter, giving her his full attention. "So," he starts, smiling "Tell me, how exactly did you get in Grago? Knowing you I expect some trouble to arise" he jest and gets a chuckle out of the girl "It almost did turn into trouble, but" Lucy's expression hardens slightly "Akari appeared and defused the situation before it got heated" she explains.
Azazel raises an eyebrow, not expecting Akari's name to be brought up in this conversation. "Seeing no scratches or wounds on you, I'm guessing she didn't give you problems" "No, she didn't, but I wasn't exactly calm and carefree with her being my tour guide" "I understand." Azazel leans back in his chair, resting his left leg over the right "Even with the impression she's shown to you... Akari still holds a soft side," "Forgive me if I call B.S on that" Lucy reply with dull and gets a chuckle from the man.
"Moving on," Azazel crosses his arms "What do I owe the pleasure of this visit from my dear Goddaughter?" "Akeno's birthday is today," Lucy starts "Yes, it is," "Considering she's pretty much part of her family. Big bro thinks Aunt Gabriel should also attend it" she explains, and Azazel sits up, a look fo intrigue form on his face.
"So, he sent you here since he thinks that I know how to get in contact with her" "Yep," Lucy bluntly reply "Why didn't he come here himself?" "He's busy going on a date with Akeno as we are currently speaking" "Hmm," Azazel smile when hearing this. He sits up and nods "Alright, I'll give Gabriel a ring and tell her about the party" "Ring?" Lucy asks, tilting her head as she watches her Godfather extend his right arm forward and an old-style flip phone appears on his hand.
Lucy looks dumbfounded, staring at the flip phone "That is what you will use to communicate with her?" she asks, not believing her Godmother would possess such a thing "Hehehe," Azazel sniggers "Ever since your parents named I and Gabriel your godparents this was a solution I came up for Gabriel and me to communicate. It was simple, and it was needed since at the time your Brother was still a baby. She and I would switch task on looking after him when Yao and Jonathan couldn't" he explain, flipping the phone open "It's still effective so why changed it?" "I guess," Lucy shrugs, mostly amused by the method considering all the advanced technology she seen while making way to here.
Azazel clicks to select Gabriel's contact number and holds the phone to his ears. Lucy waits patiently and decides to look around, watching many of the beautiful paintings hanged on the wall showing breathtaking landscapes and certain view angles of Grago. "Uhhh..." she pauses and looks forward when hearing a groan, seeing Azazel staring at the phone with an exasperated look plastered his face, his eyebrow violently twitches. Lucy smirk "She didn't pick up?" "Yeah..." he grumbles and clicks the contact once more, holding the phone to his ears "This is going to take a while," he informs, looking at Lucy, who facepalm and exhales.
Kuoh: Spiral Mall
Walking out of the theater number one which is the most premium and expensive theater in the mall. A dozen of couples exits the room after the movie was finished. Almost all of them are shivering with an expression of fright plastered on their faces. Their face pale and their teeth chattering while holding on to each other close like they're afraid something will pop out of the dark hallway to get them.
The last couple to exits is Nawin and Akeno; both are giggling/chuckling at the people's reaction to the horror movie they have just finished. "Oh, watching all of them scream in terror at the jump scares was so entertaining!" Akeno says, still giggling "Makes me wonder if some accidentally wet their pants" Nawin comments, smiling "Ufufufu, I bet someone must have" Akeno inserts and the moment she did. The two halts when a young man blasts past them with an expression of panic in his face, speeding through the end of the hallway and turns to the right where coincidentally is the bathroom.
Nawin and Akeno blink then look at each other before chuckling. "Guess we know who," he states "There always have to be one," Akeno inserts, smiling in amusement. The couple continues following the rests of the couple out of the hallway and to the lounge where the premium ticket people are allowed to relax before their movie begins. Akeno looks around and spots a statue of the creature that was in the horror movie they watched. An idea pop in her mind.
Akeno looks around and spots a staff standing in front of the hallway one which is the hallway they just exited. "Excuse me," Akeno calls out to the young woman, stopping which also makes Nawin stop since both are holding hands. The woman turns and offers a warm smile "Yes?" "Do you mind taking a picture of us with this statue?" Akeno asks, taking out her phone from the jean's pocket "Of course," the staff stop in front of them and gently takes the phone away.
Akeno turns to Nawin and smiles "Since this is the first time you took me to the movies. I say it warrants a picture" she says "It does," he replies in agreement. The two stops in front of the statue and gets close to each other. "Let's act scared, Nawin-kun" Akeno suggest "I don't often get scared, Akeno" "Then picture me tieing you on a chair and give you a bit of punishment" she whispers in a sensual tone. Instead of feeling fright, Nawin finds it amusing but does his best-scared look when seeing Akeno doing it.
The Staff immediately snaps a couple of pictures then holds the phone down and smile "That does it. Hope you like it," she says walking over and return the phone to the Himejima. "Thank you," Akeno reply and watch the staff return to her duties. Akeno brings her phone up and slides through the pictures. Nawin was looking too and smile, finding it very entertaining when looking at himself and Akeno looking terrified at the tall statue above them.
The Himejima giggles "They look great and," she looks up at her lover and smile "That scared expression doesn't fit you at all, Nawin-kun, but it is highly comical" "Hopefully when I get genuinely scared I don't look like that," Nawin comments which garner a burst of giggle from the Himejima.
After that, the couple exit the cinema area and now stood at the center of the bustling mall. Nawin glance at his watch to see it is almost reaching lunchtime. "You hungry?" he questions and gets a nod from the Himejima "Yeah, and we should head to the brunch early so it won't be too busy" "Mhm-hmm, that's precisely what I thought."
Nawin start leading Akeno down the escalator to the ground floor. "So," she looks around "Where exactly is the hotel?" "Actually, its next to the mall," "Oh," Akeno turns to the Makasha and smirk "You plan all of this? Have on the way here then to the cinema, and our brunch is just right around the corner" "I have been busted," Nawin jest with a smile "Ufufufuf, well, so far your plan has been great, Nawin-kun" Akeno holds his right arm closely and rest her head on his shoulder "I"m really enjoying our date" she whispers.
The couple reaches the ground floor and head to the entrance of the mall, but when reaching halfway, Akeno suddenly stops which makes Nawin stops too. He turns to her with confusion "Is something wrong?" "I need to head to the bathroom," Akeno answers, scratching her cheek sheepishly "Too much lemon tea." Nawin blinks before chuckling and release her hand "All right, then go ahead, I'll wait by that bench" he points at the sitting area "Ok, I'll be right back!" Akeno bolts to the right where the bathroom sign can be seen in the distance.
Nawin was about to head to the bench to wait until his phone rings. He halts and reaches down to the pocket to pull out the device then brings it up. Looking, Nawin sees Rias's name on the screen and tap answer before bringing the phone near his ear. "Moshi Moshi," Rias greets brightly in Japanese "Moshi Moshi, Rias" Nawin reply in also Japanese to humor the Gremory "How is the preparation going?" "Umaku itte iru!" she replies, and Nawin's eyebrow twitches at the Japanese language response, seeing she's dragging it "Baka, speak English!" he replies "Awww, I wanted you to continue!" Rias pouts on the other line.
Nawin rolls his eyes "Hearing how happy you are, means that everything is going great," he states "Yep, everyone is working hard. Your parents are a big help, and even Sairis is doing her part! That pup is fetching stuff for Asia, and mostly it's the right one!" she exclaims, giggling and Nawin can't help but smile when hearing this "She is one smart dog" he asserts.
"Also," Rias starts "Another reason why I called is to inform you which the rate we are going the party should be set earlier than expected, so I call to inform you that you should bring her back at 4! By then everything is set" "You sure?" Nawin asks "I don't want to be there and see you guys still doing the final touch, Rias" "Don't worry! We are all working hard to get this party starts early since we can't have it too late" Rias explain "All right, if you are confident then I'll take your word for it" Nawin glance to the right and spot Akeno exiting the bathroom "I have to go now. I'll take her home at exactly 4" "Alrighty! See you soon" Rias cheerfully reply before hanging up.
Nawin quickly stuffs the phone back in his pocket and turns around. He smiles, watching the Himejima happily strides back to him. "Feeling refresh?" he asks in jest "Ufufufu, I do" Akeno reply and returns to holding his right arm. The couple resumes exiting out of the mall and heads to the hotel for their brunch.
Time Skip: Skydust Hotel
"Um... Sir and Ma'am" the staff that's standing in front of the door that leads into the room where the brunch holds. He scans the couple, a look of confliction etched on his face "Are you here for brunch?" the middle-aged man questions, holding a whitelist on hands "Yes, Nawin Makasha and Akeno Himejima" Nawin replies in a stoic tone, already disliking this man by the look in his eyes.
The Makasha can see this man don't believe they are capable of affording such an expensive and luxurious lunch by judging on how they are dressed. Akeno is on the same boat and doesn't even hide the fact with a look of annoyance shown on her beautiful face. The staff goes through the list and is caught by surprise when seeing the couple's name written in and not only are they in the list, but they are in the premium side of the list where only the richest can afford. Having their own private booth and have any free drinks delivered to them.
"U-um," the man stumbles a bit before looking up and offers a welcoming smile for the couple "Please do come in and hope you enjoy the brunch," he says then bows respectively. "We will and since I'm in such a good mood today I won't be reporting to your manager of that look and tone you used on us a few seconds ago" Nawin state in a calm but powerful tone that brings sweats down on the man "M-my apologies" he replies, still keeping his head down.
Akeno quietly giggles at the display, finding it very sexy when witnessing her lover put the disrespectful man in his place and making him sweat. Nawin doesn't say another word and heads into the brunch room with Akeno by his side. The two are greeted with a more vibrant staff inside, all with smiles on their face and gives a respective bow as they walk past, heading to their large booth on the right end of the room where the rest of the booths are.
The two takes a seat on opposite side at one another, sited on a comfortable wine-colored leather booth and their arms rested on the beautiful and polished wooden table. A waitress immediately comes by their table and holds up a tablet "What cocktails would you like, Sir Makasha and Madam Himejima" she asks, wearing a warm smile on her face.
"Do you have a Bloody Mary?" Akeno asks, tilting her head "Yes, we most certainly do" "Perfect; I'll order that one" "Of course, Ma'am." The waitress scrolls down the menu in the tablet and selects one Bloody Mary then turns to Nawin "What would you be having, Sir?" "I'll just have the screwdriver" he answers and immediately, Akeno tilt her head in confusion, never hearing of such drinks, but the waitress doesn't halt and nod, selecting the drink and gives a bow "Your drinks shall arrive in a moment. Please enjoy the brunch!" she exclaims before turning around and heads off to get their order.
"Um, Nawin-kun" Akeno speaks, making the boy turn to her "Yes?" "What's the screwdriver?" she asks in genuine curious which cause the Makasha to lightly chuckle "It's just a simple drink that combines orange juice and some vodka" "Oh," Akeno nod before giggling "A weird name for a drink I dare say" "Oh trust me," Nawin smirk "There's much weirder cocktail's name out there."
"Oh?" Akeno rest her chin on her hands "Do tell, I am very curious" "Hmm, let's see" Nawin close his eyes "There's, of course, the Sex On The Beach, Sand In The Crack, The Drunken Elf, Voodoo, and there's Lucy's favorite the Juicy Lucy." Akeno cracks up at the last one, openly laughing while Nawin opens his eyes and smile warmly, loving the sound of the Himejima's laughter ringing in his ears.
Akeno calms down and looks at him "Was that last one real?" "The name of the drink is, but Lucy has never drunk it. Not like I'll let her considering her age. When we discovered this drink in a restaurant in the pasts," Nawin smile fondly "She was constantly bugging us for a drink of it through the whole dinner until I promised her to take her to a fair the next day, then she went silent and happily chowed down her spaghetti."
Akeno smiles warmly at the story "Getting to spend time with you would definitely be a bonus for her" "Yeah," Nawin nod "Considering I was quite busy during those times." Nawin suddenly stands up and walk out of the booth "Shall we go get our lunch?" he asks with a warm smile, extending his right arm to the Himejima, who takes it and nod "Lets."
The two get the plates that are stacked on marble tables that are scattered around the room. They head to the center where all the brunch foods are. The selection is overwhelming. Dishes from all kinds of nationally that goes to Indian to Chinese or America to Japanese. It was such a sight that Nawin's and Akeno's stomach growl in unison.
The couple blinks then look at each other before chuckling. "Let's eat till our stomach's content" Nawin speaks "Took the words right out of my mouth" Akeno replies.
Time Skip
Time passes by, and the sun is already slowly setting down earlier than usual. It turns bright orange and cast a beautiful shade on Kuoh. The date Nawin has planned for his lover, Akeno Himejima has gone on smoothly, just liked he predicted and wanted. After the brunch the two spend more time in than expected, they had a walk around the park to chat with each other and digest the large amount of food they ate. During the whole time, Nawin was happy when seeing those bright smile plastered on Akeno's face the entire time. He can easily see that spending this whole day with him has made the Himejima very happy and she seems content with this being her present for her birthday, even though she has no knowledge of what's to come very soon.
Currently, the couple just left the bus and had entered their neighborhood. Nawin and Akeno had slowly and peacefully made their way back to their home but stop on the way when spotting a truck that's selling some crepe. Akeno, loving crepes heads to the stand to fetch herself and her lover the desserts while Nawin remained behind, waiting by the light pole.
Having his arms crossed, Nawin smile peacefully when watching Akeno in the distance, talking to the seller and ordering their crepes. His phone suddenly pings a notification sound, making he pulls it out of the pocket to look at it. The message comes from Rias, and it said 'Everythings set! Bring the birthday girl over, Nawin-kun! ^o^'
The Makasha sighs in ease when he read this, glad everything has turned out well. Opening his eyes, he texts back to the Gremory, saying that they'll be there in five minutes. Nawin quickly returns the phone into his pocket and looks up to see Akeno grabbing their crepes and heading back to him.
"Here's yours," Akeno stop in front and past the crepe wrap in a plastic wrap "Which flavor?" Nawin questions, taking the dessert "Ufufufu, your favorite, Nutella" "You know," Nawin chuckles a bit and takes a bite of the crepe "You are lucky that I love chocolate so much because any ordinary person that just had the amount of chocolate that I had at brunch would not want to have one for a while." "Hehehe," Akeno giggles "It was hilarious seeing how many time you got up to get more ice creams and visiting that chocolate fountain" "Yeah," Nawin laughs softly "Going to need cut back on desserts for a while after today, or I'll start gaining weight." "Even if you grow fat I'll still love you, Nawin-kun" Akeno replies and gives a peck to his cheek before turning to her vanilla crepe and takes a bite at it while wrapping her free arm around the Makasha's.
Nawin smile by the Himejima's words before resume walking to their destination. The couple strolls through the neighborhood while eating their crepes, having a peaceful moment. Nawin notices that they are gaining close to his home and quickly takes the last bite to finish the crepe. "So," he crushes the wrapper in his hand then turns to the Himejima, wearing a warm smile "Did you enjoy the date, Akeno?" "Enjoy it?" she replies, shaking her head "I absolutely love it, Nawin-kun" she beams and rests her head on his arm "I'm so glad we got to have this," "Yeah, me too."
After a few minutes past the couple finally, reach their home. Nawin pulls the fence open to allow Akeno to enter first before he follows and shuts it behind. "Here," he extends his right arm out for Akeno to pass the wrapper once used to carry their now finished crepe. Nawin throws the wrapper in the trashcan that leans near the fence.
Nawin turns around and sneak a look at the house and sees nothing is out of the ordinary to give Akeno some suspicion of what's going on inside. He also takes notes for not sensing any magic signatures in the house, which makes the impression that no one is present. Which could only mean someone has put up a barrier to cloak everyone's magic signature in the house.
'It's time,' even though the Makasha doesn't portrait it; he is a bit nervous on how his girlfriend will react with this surprise birthday. Even with vague answers, Rias has given regarding Akeno's history about her birthday; he can tell that it is quite a sour subject for the Himejima. Worse case scenario Nawin can think of is Akeno forcing herself to enjoy it since he can't see her rejecting the entire thing so selfishly after all the hard work has been put into it.
Putting on a loving smile, Nawin grasps Akeno's right hand and leads her to the front door. "Ahh," Akeno sighs in content and looks toward the door. She doesn't know why, but the closer they get to the door, her heart rate increases ever slightly. "Seems like our date has come to an end," Nawin speaks, stopping at the front door "Yeah," Akeno turns to him and wears a bright smile "But, going back in there I still get to spend time with you, so it isn't the end of the world" she jests and get a chuckle from the Makasha.
Nawin leans in a give a kiss on the Himejima forehead before pulling back and reach his other arm out to grab the doorknob. "Alright, let's head in" he whispers and twist the knob open before pushing the door. The Makasha gestures Akeno to go in first which she does, releasing his hand and step in. "HAPPY BIRTHDAYY!" a loud voice of dozens exclaims follow by confetti being pop open at the Himejima.
Akeno stood utterly frozen in the doorway with some confetti's strings and sprinkles hanging on her body. Her wide eyes stare at the view in front. Rias, Issei, Asia, Yuuto, Koneko, and the group stood in front, all holding the now emptied confetti opening. Yao, Jonathan, Sirzech, Grayfia, Venelana, and Zeoticus are present and standing behind. Everyone wears a bright and welcoming smile on their faces.
Akeno looks up and sees a big birthday sign hanging in the doorway. The hallway was utterly decorated with balloons, hearts, sparkles, and adorable chibi animals that are holding birthday cakes. "Uh," Akeno's lip trembles, her eyes turn glossy as tears start forming and drip down her cheeks. "I-I" she is unable to produce words and just stood there, gripping both her hands tightly on her chest. The sound of a door shuts heard from behind that cause Akeno to turn around and see Nawin looking at her, wearing a warm smile while his brown eyes gleam with love "Happy Birthday... Akeno" he says.
More tears start flowing, then Akeno jumps forward and wraps her arms around the Makasha, openly weeping with joy while holding his body tightly. "Thank you!" she exclaims, burying her face on his shoulder. Nawin wraps his arms around the trembling girl's body and glance up to see everyone smiling happily at the scene. He moves his head to give a soft kiss on the Himejima's cheek "I love you s-so much," she whispers through her cry "I love you too, Akeno."
