KEIRA'S POV
As I went to class I felt a shiver go through my spine. Rin looked at me and she asked me.
"Is something wrong?"
"For some reason, I just felt like someone or something was watching me just now."
Rin looked around and she looked back at me.
"It's probably nothing."
I nodded my head and I continued to walk to class. Once I got there the students were chatting away happily until they saw me. They started to whisper about me but ignored them and I continued to my seat. Yukiya noticed me and he smiled at me. I sat next to him and he spoke to me.
"Keira, welcome back."
I smiled at him when he said that.
"It's good to be back Yukiya, missed me?"
Yukiya smiled and he held my hand.
"Of course I did."
Yukiya looked a bit concerned since he heard some of the students whispering about me. I looked at Yukiya and I spoke to him.
"Headmaster Randolph told me about what has been happening around here, so the magical creatures are being possessed by dark magic?"
Yukiya nods his head.
"Yeah, after you left the Academy, some of the students blamed you at first, but, after hearing the news about the magical creatures being possessed by dark magic they stopped blaming you all together."
I smiled a little when he said this.
"Well, it's good that they stopped blaming me and besides, why would I do something like that to the magical creatures in the first place? I know I'm a Tamer and all but, I think they just went too far on that one."
Yukiya nods his head in agreement.
"I agree with you on that one."
Just then Elias saw me and he spoke up.
"Mitsui?"
I looked up and Elias came over.
"Mitsui, welcome back to the Academy."
I smiled at him and I spoke to him with a smile on my face.
"It's good to be back Elias."
"Is it true what my brother told me? you're an official student now?"
I nodded my head when he asked me that.
"Yep, that's my Father for you, that sly old fox always finds ways to get what he wants."
Elias looked surprised when I said this.
"I'll say, but, no offence, please don't try and freeze the entire classroom like what you did last time?"
I laughed when he said this.
"Don't worry, that clumsy and unstable girl is long gone, my magical energy in under control and I cast spells properly now like I said to Klaus, you'll be surprised at how much I've improved."
Elias looked at me suspiciously when I said this.
"I really don't believe you, I'm still recovering from frostbite because of you."
I sweat dropped when I remembered that little accident a while back with my ice magic.
"You are seriously still angry at me for nearly turning you into a popsicle?"
Elias glared at me angrily and I sweat dropped at his look. I thought to myself
'I'll take that look as a yes.'
Just then, Luca came over and he spoke up.
"So the blonde klutz returns huh? it has been a while."
A tick mark appeared on my head when Luca said that.
"I'll act like I didn't hear that nickname that you called me, Luca."
Luca smirked at me.
"I couldn't help myself, besides, looking back was kinda funny when you think about it."
I growled under breath and Yukiya saw my anger look.
"Luca, don't make Keira angry, you of all people should remember what happened the last time when you made her angry."
Elias nods his head in agreement.
"I agree with Yukiya on that one, Keira was due to turn you into a popsicle at the time."
Luca chuckled when Elias said that.
"Oh please, last time, she couldn't even cast a spell properly."
I grabbed Luca's wrist tightly and I glared at him.
"Luca...don't tick me off..."
I spoke angrily as my ice magic started to appear on Luca's wrist. Luca sweatdropped when he saw this.
"Yikes! OK! I get it! let go already! I won't make you angry!! let me go!!"
I released Luca's wrist and then the ice that was on Luca's wrist vanished. Luca, Elias and Yukiya surprised that I was able to get rid of the ice that easily. Elias then spoke up.
"Well, that was unexpected, I don't remember you being able to do that."
Just then, I saw a girl with brown hair that was tied back in pigtails and pinkish eyes. She sat down in front of Yukiya and she then said to us.
"Good morning."
I looked at her and I sniffed her scent.
"I don't remember seeing you around here before."
The brown haired turned around to look at me.
"Hello, I'm Liz Hart, nice to meet you, uh.."
I smiled at Liz.
"I'm Keira Mitsui, nice to meet you, Liz."
Liz smiled and Elias then said to her.
"Oh that's right since you just got here, you don't know Hart, she's a provisional student like how you were, Keira."
I smiled at this and I spoke up.
"Is that so? I'm glad I'm not in that position anymore."
Liz was surprised at this and she asked me.
"You mean you're an official student?"
Luca then spoke up.
"Keira was in your position about three months ago but she didn't pass for the first time."
Elias nods his head in agreement.
"But now, Keira was able to become an official student without going through the thirteen day trial for the second time."
I smirked at this and I spoke up.
"Like what I said to Elias, my father is always the sly old fox and he always finds ways to get what he wants, I mean that literally."
Liz looked surprised and she asked me.
"Who is your father?"
Elias then realised something before speaking again.
"You know, now that I think about it, you never talked about your family, Mitsui."
I looked away from them before speaking again.
"Because I don't usually talk about my parents, but, if you wanna know that badly, my father is Ivan."
Elias looked shocked when I said my Father's name.
"Ivan?! you mean the same Ivan who was a dark wizard?!"
I nodded my head when asked me that.
"Yeah, why is that a shock to you?"
"Why?! I heard Ivan's magic is supposed to be deadly and his training methods were ruthless as well."
Luca said with a worried look on his face. I frowned and I spoke up.
"This is one of the reasons why I don't like talking about my parents because I knew you would react like this."
I clenched my fists tightly as I remembered when my Father was training me and it sickens me just thinking about it. Liz then noticed my familiar and she asked me.
"Is that your familiar?"
I looked at Rin before speaking again.
"Yep, her name is Rin."
Rin smiled and she jumps onto Liz's head making her giggle in the process. Yukiya then spoke up while looking at Rin.
"If I'm not mistaken, she's a nekomanta demon."
I nodded my head and when Yukiya offered his hand to Rin, she ran up his arm and she sat on his shoulder. Luca smirked and he spoke up.
"Looks like the furball likes you."
Rin's fur stood on end when she heard that.
"Hey! don't call me a fur ball moss head!!"
Luca, Elias and Liz looked around.
"Who said that?"
Elias said as he and the others looked around. I covered my mouth so I wouldn't burst out laughing. Rin sits on the desk before speaking again.
"It was me, I'm right here."
Elias, Liz and Luca looked at Rin.
"I'm the one who called you moss-head, Luca."
Elias shouted in a shocked tone.
"Wha?! you can talk?!!"
I burst out laughing and Rin and spoke up.
"What? you've never seen nor heard of us Nekomanta demons talking before? honestly, Keira told me you were supposed to be the smart one in the class Elias, demons like me can communicate with humans easily, hmph, still it's fun to their reactions."
I stopped myself laughing and Elias then spoke up.
"I don't see how you can find it so funny Keira!"
Liz then smiled and she looked back at Rin.
"But, it's kinda amazing when you think about it."
Liz pets Rin's head and Rin purred at this contact. Luca sweat dropped as he looked at Rin.
"Well, it was unexpected, how do you even get used to Rin talking like that Keira?"
I giggled at that question and I spoke up again.
"It was a bit creepy at first for me but it's not so bad once you've gotten used to Rin speaking all of the time, but, Rin, try and keep quiet when we're in the middle of class, got it?"
Rin nods her head and then the bell rang. Luca then spoke up.
"Well, see ya."
I shook my head and Liz tried to stop him.
"Wait! Luca!"
I waved my hand in front of my face.
"I wouldn't bother, Luca is always skipping classes there's no point in stopping him."
Elias nodded his head in agreement.
"She's right and Mitsui, don't even think about making the same mistake like you did last time."
A tick mark appeared on my head as I watched Elias walk back to his seat.
"First day back and Elias is already lecturing me, remind me to kick his butt later."
Yukiya, Rin and Liz sweat dropped at my comment. Just then, professor Schuyler came into the classroom.
"Class is now in session."
Liz looked a little bit nervous and I knew what she was going through. Professor Schuyler then spoke to the class.
"Before I start, there's a returning student here, Keira Mitsui."
I stood up from my seat and then Professor Schuyler spoke up.
"Introduce yourself to the class."
I smiled at the class before speaking.
"As some of you already know, I'm Keira Mitsui, it's good to be back."
I spoke as I winked at the end of my sentence. The boys had love hearts in their eyes as they looked at me except for Yukiya and Elias. I sat back down and Yukiya spoke up.
"You know how to draw a crowd."
I giggled at his comment.
"I can't help myself."
Professor Schuyler then spoke up.
"All right that's enough, class begins now."
The male students stopped wooing and wolf whistling me and everyone was silent again.
"Today we will continue discussing magical tools. Today's lesson is about the Tears of Undine."
Professor Schuyler brings out a gemstone before speaking up again.
"They are gemstones which allow the wielder to bring down rain showers. Thus they fetch a high price in lands with a drought. However, to use the Tears of Undine, a magical incantation is needed. Some wizards travel through drought villages to do business with the rainfall spell."
Professor Schuyler looked at me and he asked me.
"So tell me Keira, what kind of elemental spirits are the undine."
I thought for a moment before answering the question.
"The undine are water spirits."
"Correct."
I smiled to myself and the professor then spoke up again.
"Each one of you will now summon rain, the incantation for this spell is, 'Rain, come forth', Elias you'll go first."
Elias stood up and he walks up to the professor. Professor Schuyler gave Elias the tears of undine and he then lifted the Tears of undine as he closed his eyes.
"Rain, come forth!"
When Elias said the incantation, the Tears of undine glowed a light blue colour and then small ripples of blue light flowed out of the gemstone, filling the classroom. The students were all amazed at his magic and so was Liz and I. Very soon, a few drops of rain started to fall despite the clear blue sky. I smirked and I thought to myself.
'Elias's magic is still amazing like always, I don't think I can ever get sick of it.'
"Well done Elias."
Professor Schuyler praised Elias. Once Professor Schuyler dispelled the rain, by using a smilier gemstone which can summon the sun, Elias then heads back to his seat. Just then, the Professor looked around the classroom.
"Who else should try... Keira."
The students' energy they had before suddenly died down when professor Schuyler called out my name. I nodded my head and I headed towards him. I took the gemstone from him and I noticed some of the students, including Elias, ducking for cover in case my ice magic goes out of control like last time. I shook my head when I saw this.
"Oh, brother..."
I mumbled before I taking a deep breath and I exhaled. I closed my eyes and I concentrated my magical energy on the gemstone. I could feel my light blue magical aura surrounding my body as I concentrated my magical energy in the gemstone.
"Rain, come forth!"
Once I said the incantation, a white-blue colour glowed. Small white and blue ripples flowed out of the gemstone which filled the classroom and then it started to rain and snow at the same time but it wasn't like last time, it was calmer and a pretty sight to be seen as well. Some of the students came out from ducking and they were amazed and shocked at my magic even Professor Schuyler was shocked as well when he saw this.
I smirked when I saw the results after saying the incantation.
"I did make it rain but, because I can cast Ice spells it looks like my ice magic got in the way."
Professor Schuyler looked at me with a surprised look on his face.
"Impressive work Keira, you really have improved your magic really well, good work."
"Thank you."
I said before I walking back to my seat and Professor Schuyler used the orange gemstone to dispel the rain and snow. I sat down and Yukiya stared at me. I looked at him and I asked him.
"What?"
Yukiya looked away from me.
"Nothing."
I was confused at this and I then looked at Rin and she had her head tilted to the side in confusion as well.
It was then Liz's turn but when she said the incantation nothing happened. Until a frog landed on her head and then several more frogs appeared in the room. The students were panicking. Rin was hissing and growling at them while I tried to hold back my laughs. I shook my head and I knew that I had to do something. I raised my right hand and then a yellow glow appeared and I got all of the frogs in small like spheres and I teleported them out of the room. The students stopped panicking and Professor Schuyler noticed this as well. Liz was shocked when she saw this.
"Uh, that wasn't me."
I stood up from my seat and I spoke up.
"Actually, that was me."
Professor Schuyler noticed my right hand was glowing but then it's yellow colour faded away after I finished casting the spell.
Elias saw this and he spoke up.
"That was a teleportation spell! how did you do that?! you weren't able to do that before."
I smirked at his question.
"Like I told you, I've improved my magical abilities and you really shouldn't doubt me either because I'm not that clumsy wizard you once knew three months ago."
I sat back down and Professor Schuyler spoke up.
"Teleportation magic is supposed to be a difficult spell it would seem you've gotten better at it and Liz.."
Liz gulped and Professor Schuyler looked back at her before speaking again.
"You're lucky that Keira bailed you out, don't let it happen again."
Liz slumped down when he said this.
"Yes..."
Liz heads back to her seat and she sat down. Some of the students started to whisper about me and then Yukiya spoke up.
"You really have gotten better with your magic."
I smiled at Yukiya and he smiled back at me. My first day back in class was just the beginning.
