Once the draft was over we decided to go back to the Seager household so that Corey could shower before we go out to lunch. We were also going back to pick up Justin and Kyle who were still at the house. Once we got there Corey headed straight to the shower as Jody and Jeff went to go change. I was sitting on the couch alone just scrolling through my phone until Kyle walked down with Justin following him. "Hey Dre," they say in unison.
"Hey guys," I say sitting up from where I was laying, "Don't you two look nice." They're were pretty dressed up because they wanted to go eat at this fancy little Italian restaurant, just outside of town. I was beginning to get nervous about telling them about me and Corey. Sure, they like me now but we were best friends, now we're dating that's a whole different story. What if-
"Right, Dre?" Justin says interrupting my thoughts.
"Huh?" I say, "I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention." They both look at me funny and sit on the couch with me.
"You okay, kid? You look a little pale.. something on your mind?" Kyle says.
"Y-yeah, I'm fine" I nod. They look at me and I can tell they had me figured out.
"Okay, spill it," Justin says. I sit there and try to play it off like it's nothing but they know me to well.
"I don't know what you mean, I was just dozing off, I'm pretty tired" I say.
"Oh so this has nothing to do with Corey telling Mom and Pops you two are dating?" Kyle says as my eyes widen. They both burst out laughing at my reaction and Justin shoves me.
"Oh c'mon kid. Do you really think our little brother wouldn't tell us about you two? He wouldn't shut up about it" He says laughing, "plus if he hadn't told us you pretty much just gave it away right now." I sock him as they both just continue to laugh at me.
"You guys are assholes, but if you must know, yes that is what I'm worried about. I don't know how your parents will react," I admit.
"They'll probably react like we did," Kyle says walking toward the kitchen.
"Which was?" I ask nervously as I follow him.
"We told Corey it was about damn time he grew some balls and asked you out. You guys should've been dating since you were like 13," he laughs. I kinda just smile at the thought.
Justin comes up from behind and places his hand on my shoulder, "Hey, don't worry. You know Mom and Pops love you like their own daughter, they'll be happy for you guys," I nod and we continue to make random conversation for a couple more minutes until Corey and his parents we're ready to go.
Corey came down dressed in a aqua colored nike shirt, jeans, and some Vans. Even now such a simple outfit he looked so good. "Alright kids let's go, Corey you're driving right?" Jody says.
"Yes ma'am, I'm gunna take the truck," Corey replied.
"I think me and Justin will ride with these two, you and Dad can follow in your car" Kyle says with a smirk. They nod as we all head out to the cars. Me and Corey sat in the front and his brothers sat in the back.
We drove as music played throughout the car until Kyle broke the silence, "So Corey, you didn't tell Dre we know?" I turn and glare at him as he has a smirk on his face.
"I just didn't want to worry her, we agreed we'd wait to tell you," Corey says nervously.
"Bad move little bro, already keeping secrets," Justin says trying not to laugh.
"Both of you shut up, or I'll tell your mom you were picking on him," I say glaring at them, I swear you have to talk to them like they were 5 or they'd go on forever. "Hey, don't worry about it, they were gunna know sooner or later. Them knowing actually lifted some weight off my shoulders," I say taking hold of his hand.
"What do you mean, Dre?" He asked.
"While you and the folks were getting ready, this one was having a panicked attack on the couch," Kyle laughs.
"Kyle, shut up already!" I say glaring at him.
"Hey, don't worry about it. They love you, we'll be be fine." Corey says rubbing his thumb across my hand. It was about 5 more minutes before we got to the restaurant. Corey jumps out of the car and runs to my side of the car while I'm taking off my seat belt and opens my door for me. We check in with the host since we already had reservation and they lead us to a table outside. Corey's parents still weren't here yet, Jody had forgot her wallet at the house so they went back to get it. Corey was sitting with me while his brothers went to get a beer from the bar, so I take this opportunity to take post a snapchat since he took one of me earlier.
"Stop taking pictures of me," he says as he checks his phone. I laugh at him and shake my head.
"Make me," I say sticking my tongue out at him.
"You don't know how tempted I am to kiss you but I know if I do my parents will show up watch." He laughs. I nod and laugh with him because I know our luck.
Eventually Jody and Jeff get here and we order. I got this amazing Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, honestly the food here was to die for. We were all rambling on about baseball and how it was going for the boys. I catch Corey looking at me and I look at him and he just nods. I assumed that meant he wanted to tell his parents now.
"So mom, dad, I have something I wanted to tell you," Corey says. I begin to get nervous again so I take a deep breath in and I see Kyle and Justin as they nod at me.
"Good ahead sweetie," Jody says smiling.
"Well," Corey starts as he places his hand om my leg, "me and Dre are dating,"
"Oh my goodness! You do not know how long I've been waiting to hear those words come out of your mouth!" She says as she jumps up and pulls Corey into a hug. "Oh come here you," she says wrapping her arms around me.
"You did good, son" Jeff says smiling at Corey as he sits across the table.
"Oh wow, this is amazing. I finally get to have the daughter I never had." Jody says with the biggest smile. "Don't get me wrong honey, Madisyn was great and everything.. it's just I've been waiting for you and Andrea to get together forever."
"Yeah I know, Mom. Andy is great, I've just been waiting for the right time," Corey says as he smiles at me. I feel my cheeks heat up as a huge smiles grows on my face.
"I can't remember the last time you called her Andy, you two were probably about 10." Jeff laughs. "We're very happy for you guys." I smile as we continue to talk until the bill comes. Saying I was relieved by their reaction was an understatement.
We soon left the restaurant and took everyone home and stayed around the house for a few hours until Corey decided it was time for us to have our "date night". I say my goodbyes as he grabs his keys from his room. We walk to the truck and he opens my door. "After you, beautiful" he says holding the door open with his goofy smile, "It's date night."
