"He should be here..." My mother said. I could see she was kind of embarrassed.

What a bad first impression. My moms so called amazing boyfriend was 10 minutes late for the dinner and we've been sitting here looking like idiots.

The Taylor family was on side of us and they were also curious as to who we were waiting for.

Dillon kept shooting me these smirks and it made angry. All I could do was send him death glares.

I couldn't deny that he looked very good in his black dress shirt and black slacks.

I waved at Michelle and she smiled at me. Our relationship has gotten so much better and shes already my friend. I never would have expected to be friends with a 12 year old but you get what you get and don't pitch a fit.

"I'm so sorry I'm late." A man that looked very good looking sat down next to my mom. He was wearing a black suit.

"It's okay." My mom said softly.

"Kids, this is Trey." My mom smiled at Trey and then at us.

"Hello." I said smiling.

Trey gave me a look that made me very uncomfortable. It was way worse than the looks Dillon kept giving me.

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat.

"Whats up." Chris said.

My mom gave him an scolding look. "That is not a good greeting Christopher." She said.

"Sorry... Hello sir, how are you this fine dandy day?" Christopher said.

I couldn't help but giggle.

Trey laughed too. His laugh was very deep.

My mom just glared at Chris.

"Hello has everyone already picked their meals for tonight?" A very attractive guy came to our table. He looked too hot to be true. I hate it when I bump into a very attractive guy because I know I will never get him.

It's not like you want them anyway, I told myself.

He flashed me a smile and my insides kind of melted. I smiled back, but quickly remembered what I was doing

Cait, remember the no-boys rule?

I heard a cough from the table next to us and noticed it came from Dillon. He was staring straight at me.

I wish he would mind his own damn business and stop staring at me. I don't know if he wants a piece of this ass, but he ain't getting none of it.

Since Trey took so long, I was already scanning over the menu and decided to go with an Italian ravioli pasta.

Everyone else ordered and we waited for the food.

"So, kids, tell me about yourselves." Trey sighed. He looked like he didn't want to be here.

What's up with guy?

"I'm Christopher, but I go by Chris. I'm 13, and I like video games... Do you have a dollar I can borrow?" Chis said.

I rolled my eyes in amusement as Trey searched his pockets.

"Sure little buddy." He handed Chris a dollar bill that looked brand new and smiled.

"Oh cool thanks!" Chris put it in his suit pocket.

"I'm Caitlin, but I go by Cait, I'm 17 and like to write. I want to be a fashion designer when I'm older." I said.

Trey just looked at me for a second and then nodded.

"That's pretty cool. My daughter, who is 22 is a fashion designer in New York." Trey said.

"Oh for real?! That's my dream place to live. What's her name?" I asked, suddenly interested in him for the first time tonight.

"Val Venues. It's a pretty well known fashion line." He replied.

"Oh my gosh, I've heard of that fashion line!" I chirped, a little too loud and Dillon snickered.

I felt stupid.

The food came and we ate and it was pretty good.

"I'm going to go stand outside for a minute." I said, getting up.

"But Cait, we're having a great time, talking and enjoying the food. Why?" My mother asked.

"I just need some air. It's kind of stuffy in here." I lied.

I actually just wanted to get away from Trey. I have bad vibes about him. He has been giving me these creepy looks all night and Its making me so uncomfortable.

"Well... Ok, but please be careful, its dark out and don't stay out there for too long." My mother said, still looking uncertain about the idea.

I just gave her a nod and walked out. I felt Dillon's eyes following me as I walked to the door and I just hope his body doesn't do the same. I really didn't need or feel like having company.

When I pushed opened the door, a nice gust of wind hit my face. I actually didn't notice how stuffy it really was in there. Maybe it was because we were right by the kitchen door.

Who knows, who cares.

I leaned back on the building snd enjoyed the air and windiness. Why is it always windy where I live down in Virginia?

"Need some company?"

I looked up confused as I came eye to eye with the waiter that took our order.

"Well I guess. What are you doing out here?" I asked, it sounded quite rude actually.

"Oh sorry, I didn't mean for it to come out as rude," my face got red.

He just chucked.

"It's fine. I'm just taking my break. I usually just come out here and look at the sky." He said.

"The sky looks really pretty tonight." I said looking up like he was.

"Yeah you are." He said.

I looked at him and saw his eyes were on me now instead of the sky.

I felt my cheeks burning.

"U-um, I-"

"I'm sorry maybe that was a little too forward. I just think you're gorgeous." He said.

"You don't even know my name and I don't know yours." I laughed.

"I'm Brad, and you are?" He held out his hand.

"Cait." I shook his hand.

"Cute name. It sounds very innocent." He gave me a toothy smile.

"Hmm, Brad, sounds very basic." I shot back with a smile.

He just laughed and shrugged.

"So, I have nothing better to do, tell me about yourself."

"I'm a junior, 17, at Hill-Ridge High School." I said.

"I went to Hill-Ridge last year, but I don't know if I saw you. I mean I should have though. Any guy would notice you from a mile away." Brad said.

I found myself blushing again.

"I'm not a very social person. I didn't have a crowd, just a couple friends." I admitted.

He nodded.

"Well, I'm 18, high school graduate, and working at a snobby restaurant for old people who always need more, caviar sauce." Brad used a snobby British accent when he said caviar sauce and I was doubling over laughing.

"Well, nice talking to you Brad but I really need to get back. I don't want my mother to get mad because I spent half the evening out here." I told him.

He nodded.

"Wait, want my number in case you want to just talk?" He looked a little nervous.

I actually felt bad.

"I'm sorry but I can't right now." I replied with a straight face.

"Oh. Boyfriend?" He asked

"No... I just can't. Sorry, bye." Was all I said as I hurried back inside.

I'm such an asshole.
