Mari was quiet, actually too quiet as she leaned her head on my shoulder. We've been sitting in silence since she returned from that call. She even ate her dinner silently as music played lowly. She had only taken two bites of her pie-the pie we both dearly love.

"M-maaay I ask what's wrooonng with you?" I gulp down the last of the champagne in my flute.

"I'll talk to you when you're sober." She chuckles. I stare down at her and pour sadly.

"What! I am soberrr what do you mean." I mutter defensively.

"Yeah right, Jay! I promise I will tell you tomorrow." She states sincerely but I know it's a lie. She's taking advantage of the fact that I'm not me right now.

"Pinky promise?" I suggest like that'll make sure she'll text me. She nods grabbing my pinky and locking it with her's.

"Father-daughter dance?" We both look up and Mr.Fields smiles down at Mari holding out his hand. She smiles standing up. She looks down at me.

"Stay put Jay!" She urges, I groan and nod. Mr.Fields takes one look at me and raises an eyebrow

"Are you okay, Jay?" He questions reviewing the many empty flutes on the table then adverting his eyes back to me. Mari and I both nod nervously. She looks at me to her father and smiles.

"Uh, I gave her a painkiller because she has a terrible headache, but I kinda forgot that it was a sleeping pain pill." She rants trying to save me from looking like that drunk friend that drinks any and everywhere.

"Well, you two should head home. Don't want her to fall asleep and her face lands in the pie," he chuckles hysterically.

"N-no I'm fine Marvin. Father-daughter dance yay!" I cheer excitedly.

" You sure?" He questions skeptically. Mari throws me a look. She's probably telling me to say no and instead she should take me home to get some sleep, but her father asked her to dance which is really sweet.

"Totally Captain Fields!" I shout as I salute him and chuckle. Mari stares at me disappointed and all I could do was stick out my tongue idiotically at her as her dad led them to the dance floor.

I start to feel guilt and a tad bit envious because I would kill to be in her shoes right now. I haven't danced with my dad since my cousins sweet sixteen which was like 12 years ago.

I had 6 cups of champagne and I feel a tiny bit wasted, but I'm not. I still can stand and understand everything.

"You've had way too much to drink." Someone chuckles. I pull my lips away from the glass and stare at the person talking to me. It's Ky towering over me with a huge devious smirk planted on her face. What does she want now?

"Did I?" I question rhetorically. Speaking of drinks I need like 2 more. Why am I drinking again? Oh, SEAN!

"Yeah you did, but don't worry because last time I showed up I was wasted and high" she adds as if that will cheer me up or make me feel any better about getting wasted at this banquet.

"Sharing stories are we, should I care?" I stare at her hysterically. She's really pretty, no wonder Sean had sex with her.

"Just trying to inform people that this "banquet" is useless, and you always have to run into people you either fucked or their spouse," she sighs exhaustedly

"Oh you know those things to well, seeing you had sex with my boyfriend." Anger flushes me quickly as I stare at her. My cheeks maybe visible with a light blush.

"Pretty sure he's your ex, and I didn't fuck Peters, really don't play that side of the field. Plus his stick is like a walking disease kit," she shrugs nonchalantly. My eyebrows raise curiously at her notion for the size of his dick.

"It's not really a stick it's more of a cucumber." I described laughing hysterically. At what? I don't know. Yeah, I'm getting there on the being drunk part.

"Please don't discuss his dick with me. I don't really give a shit nor am I interested!"

"Okay, why use those big words?" I groan pouting. A waiter walks by with a platter full of flutes of champagne. I grab another and swallow it in one big gulp.

"Wanna dance?" She groans annoyed probably with me and my attitude.

"Why?" I look at her curiously. Why ask me to dance clearly there's a lot of guys here who are bored.

Jason Danielson sits two tables over bored out of his mind. Cole Jetters play's subway surfer bored.

"Just come on you drunk!" I groan as she pulls me up.

Ky Guery

We arrive on the dance floor and my hands instantly move to her waist, while hers stay awkwardly at her side's.

"Can you not stand like that?" I question hesitantly. Don't want her standing so uncomfortably and weird, that it's almost as if I am dancing with a manikin. My shift to her buzzed, yet, hazel ones. I can tell she's drunk, I just wander if she can tell I am high.

"L-like what exactly?" She questions oddly. She tries to adjust her stiffness. She begins to smile, and leans onto me, breaking the awkwardness. She begins swaying along with me to the pop music that plays.

"Like I'm gonna bite you or something," I finally whisper down into her ear. She giggles softly, sort of stumbling in the process, causing her to step on my shoe.

"Sorry, it's just weiiird dancing with..." I cut her off before she could finish.

"A girl?" I finish, she nods like a child, I nod along with her. Maybe we're all not in the mindset that it's a new day in age where it's completely normal for two females to be on the dance floor, dancing. I guess not. People are staring, not staring because we're dancing, but staring because she's horrible at it. She's stepped in my feet at least 10 times this far. Maybe it's because she's drunk or just maybe she doesn't know how to dance.

"Yeah, and also you're a b-bitch," she slurs drunkenly.

"Ouch, hurt my feelings why don't you," I joke sarcastically. I've been told by countless people I am a bitch, even my own father, so hearing it from her does no damage. I know I am a bitch, not like its purposely, just comes with my fucking package deal, take it or fucking leave it.

"I've been w-wanting to call you that s-siince I saw you t-today at my job," she pouts sadly. She then burps afterwards. That burp reeked of champagne and meatloaf.

"Really?" I raise my eyebrows in amusement. It's not funny, but it sorta is.

" Yeah, kinda. You're beautiful too, but I wouldn't tell you that to your face because you seem like the conceited type," she whispers hysterically in my ear, her breath leaving a trail of hotness on my earlobe. She lays her head back onto my shoulder, snuggling her head deeper into the crook of my neck. She's comfortable, maybe way to comfortable. Is she falling asleep? I shrug my shoulder and she jolts her head up.

"I'm not conceited, just a grumpy unbothered person," I state truthfully. My intentions aren't to go out into the world and be a complete dickhead to everyone I cross paths with. It all depends on how I'm feeling and who pissed me off a moment before, and in that situation, it was one of my fucking investors.

"Today, y-you don't know how bad I wanted to c-curse you out for being so rude and snovey!" She groans annoyed. Snovey? I question. What the fuck does that even mean?

"I was irritated because I had an issue today. Didn't mean to take it out on you," I murmur out kindly, while rubbing my neck nervously. Was I that much of an asshole to her?

"It's okay, I'm shocked a good-looking, spoiled girl like you would apologize." She states truthfully and I automatically clench my jaw. I hate when people just assign me to that spoiled kid.

"Just-just forget everything I said. I just want pizza! And Netflix." She laughs at herself, and I just stare confused.

"You're totally drunk!" I mumble guiding her towards her friend, Mari, who is having a moment dancing with her dad.

"Nooo we ca-an't int-terrupt their father-daughter time." She groans.

"What?" I question confused. She looks over at them sadly then adverts her eyes back to me and pouts sadly.

"They're dancing, let them enjoy it." She pouts staring at them from a distance.

"But you need to go home because you're drunk." I stare at her pushing my hair out my face. Gosh, she's acting like a kid. She's kinda cute and adorable.

"Okay, I'll take you home. Where do you live?"

"I really don't want to go home, I'm in no shape to be there alone. I'll just play Mariah Carey, we belong together and drink cheap wine, while I pitty myself and my life." I have no words. She's honest, I guess it's the champagne talking.

"Then where the hell do you want to go?" I question confusedly.

"Anywhere, your home, the mayors home, anyone's home but mine," She rambles.

"Come on drunkie!" I pull her toward the exit. She stumbles a bit, but I hold on to her cautiously. There's stares, especially a sharp stare coming from my old probation officer. She curious, her eyes follow Jay and I all the way to the door, until we bump into Sean. He stops in front of us both.

"Where are you taking her?" A smirk plasters my face just by hearing the hatefulness in his voice. I should be the one who hates this shithead, but hate isn't for me, dislike, but not hate.

"Seán, just move out the way, this has absolutely nothing to do with you!" I hiss annoyed. I glance down at Jay, she rolls her eyes annoyedly at him.

"It is because she's my girlfriend." He tenses as that leave his mouth.

"EX!" Jay and I say at the same time.

"Doesn't matter, I still care for her and I know If she's in your hands you'll..."

"Yeah, I'm not a fucking creep like you. You know you don't give a shit about her because all she was to you was a toy!"

"You don't know shit about our relationship and I don't need you, out of all people, to be fucking judging me!" An audience erupts around us. Slowly eyes land on me one by one. This is not my first time causing a scene in front of these people, so I give no fucks.

"I don't give s fuck about your recent relationship. I know you and you're ..." Before I could finish, everything happens in slow motion. Jay brings her leg up slowly and puts so much force, into her kick that the end of her heel comes in contact with his nut sack. She kicked him so hard, that he falls slowly clutching his gentiles.

I could do nothing but burst into laughter. Man, this night is just so hilarious.

She pulls me out the door and we run. While she giggles clutching my hand.

"Take. Me. Home...Ky! If you don't wanna take it slow and you just wanna take me home! Baby say ye-e-ahhhh ye-eahh....And let me kiss you." She sings terribly.

What the fuck is she singing?
