It was finally race week and you were so excited and nervous too. You were afraid of bumping into Lando. You were nervous for your brother and Carlos, you didn't know what to expect.
The last week of the break, you didn't see either Carlos or Charles, they were busy training and you had to fly to Germany for some meetings with Puma and a photoshoot, you were glad to see Alan again and now he gave you a tour of the city he lives in. You had a great time and you got to clear your head.
After that little get-together at Charles's apartment, you barely saw Carlos, he was too busy with Lucía and training and honestly, you were relieved.
You arrived in Belgium Friday night, they arrived 2 days before. You were prepared to see Carlos and Lucía in this enviroment, it was going to hurt but what could you do about it?
It was quali day at Spa. You were nervous, you felt like the Spa circuit is one of the most dangerous in the world and you wanted Charles to do well but most importantely, to be safe.
Your outfit was all Puma, brown-ish baggy pants, a black and white sweatshirt that had PUMA written on the chest and Puma's logo below it. You wore white tennis shoes and of course, a Ferrari cap. You posted a story to Instagram of your outfit. You wrote "all PUMA" and posted it with the location. You decided to take an Uber to the circuit, when you got there you walked to Ferrari's garage to find your brother.
When you found him, you hugged him and wished him good luck, you saw Carlos was already in his car, focused. He did that, he got into his car a little early to concentrate.
You looked around and you noticed Lucía wasn't there, deep inside you were happy about that.
You and Charlotte put on a headset and watched quali through the screens.
Max goes quickest, he got the pace there but then Lando was quickest by four tenths, you tried not to be happy for him but you were.
Lewis and George were P3 and P4, Esteban was the driver at risk, Charles was P8 and Carlos P10.
-C'mon! -you said.
Q2 started, Lando was the fastest followed by Lewis and Pierre, you were excited for Pierre and you clapped your hands. Then Valtteri took his place and you saw Carlos was out, you couldn't believe it, he was going to start P12.
Charles was at risk, he could improve his position, you knew it but he didn't, he stayed P11. Q2 ended and you saw Carlos getting out of his car, he sounded angry on the radio. He took off his helmet, he had marks on his face and his hair was disheveled, even angry and messy, he still looked gorgeous. He shook everybody's hand and they still cheered for him. It wasn't a good quali for him but you knew he was going to learn from it. Charles also was angry and he approached Charlotte.
Carlos noticed you were there and he lifted both of his eyebrows, gave you a little smile and then approached you.
-I didn't know you were here. -he said squeezing your shoulder.
-I arrived yesterday.
-I'm glad you're here.
-Me too. -you smiled. -You'll do better tomorrow.
-Yeah, I hope so.
Q3 started, there was standing water, where the drivers lose all grip and could go into the barriers. You saw Lando go round, your heart raced, you might not be in good terms but you still cared about him. His car was spinning around and destroying itself, you gasped and covered your mouth, Carlos looked at you.
You could see the tyre stranded and the chassis revolving and turning around.
-I hope he's okay. -you said still covering your mouth.
-Me too. -Carlos said looking at the screen.
Max got pole, George P2, Lewis P3.
-I'll be right back. -you said taking off the headset.
-Where are you going? -Carlos asked.
-I need to see if Lando's okay.
You walked towards McLaren's garage, your heart almost bursting out of your chest.
-Girl Leclerc! -Daniel said when he saw you. -It's been a while.
-I know. -you looked around. -Where's Lando?
-At the medical center but don't worry, I'm sure he's fine, it's just protocol, he should be here any minute.
-Oh, I'll wait here, thank you Danny. -you smiled. You were playing with your fingers, nervous, looking around. You really weren't sure how to react once you saw until you did. He had his cap backwards and everyone was hugging him and shaking hands with him. You were speechless, everything that happened in the Bahamas came to your mind and you tried to shake those memories. You approached him, he looked into your eyes, he had a little smile on his face, he was shocked to see you.
-Hi. -you said.
-Hi. -he said back, almost out of breath.
-I just wanted to see if you were okay.
-I'm fine. -he took a turn. -I'm perfect, nothing happened.
-I'm glad, that was scary.
-It was, thank you for checking up on me. -he paused. -I didn't know you wanted to talk to me after...
-Now I know you're okay, that's the only reason I came looking for you and I'm happy you are. -you didn't smile, you just said that. -Goodbye, Lando. -you walked away.
RACE DAY
You arrived at the track early, you and Charlotte went to get something to eat and when you finished, you walked to Ferrari's garage. Carlos and Charles were ready, focused. You wished them good luck.
It was a a rainy day, you were nervous and prayed they all stay safe. You were looking at the screen until everyone was saying the race was going to be delayed because of the rain.
After a wait of almost 3 hours, the drivers left the pit lane and went out onto the track. There was a safety car, everyone was behind it, trying to see what's going on.
One lap was completed, still there was the safety car. Pierre was P6, Charles P8, Carlos P10. There was a red flag, the session stopped. You were still nervous and desperate, you wanted to be over already. Every driver went back to the pit lane, again because the conditions haven't improved.
