The Blue Typhoon was floating through space. Everyone was in the bridge with Sonic having Cheese on his lap.
Sonic: Hey, Tails. Why don't you try steering the ship on a different course now?
Tails: I guess I can. But where exactly do you want me to go, Sonic?
Sonic: Wherever. It doesn't matter.
Y/n: It does matter. We need to find the Chaos Emeralds if we want to beat the Metarex. If those two Commanders were that strong, just imagine how strong Dark Oak is. What's wrong with this direction anyway?
Sonic: It's just, we've been going in this direction since the Metarex began chasing us 12 hours ago, and I've been wondering why they haven't fired a shot at us.
Cosmo: Are you suggesting that the Metarex tricked us into going this way?
Tails: Is it a trap, Sonic?
Sonic: Why don't we find out?
Tails: Okay. And while we're at it we can test out how accurate their tracking sensors are. Let's push our speed to the max. Chris, increase auxiliary engines to maximum power.
Chris: Roger. Increasing power now.
Tails: Turn to Mark 3.1.
Amy: Are you sure this is a good idea? They're turning, too!
Chris: It's a laser blast. The Metarex are firing at us.
Cream: All shields up.
They put up the laser shield in time and it blocked a laser from hitting them.
Knuckles: Guess they don't want us going this way.
Tails: Change course to Mark 0.8. Maintain speed.
Amy: But there are three ships approaching at Mark 3.70. And they're coming at us full speed!
Y/n: I've got this one.
Y/n quickly ran out of the ship and aimed his hand at the ships.
Y/n: Lightning Paradise!
Y/n shot the ships down with the blasts of lightning.
Helen: Nice shot, Y/n.
Star: You show 'em, hun!
Y/n ran back in.
Y/n: That takes care of that.
Tails: Return to original coordinates.
Chris: Roger.
Tails: Now it's their move. Cream, keep all the shields up.
Cream: Roger!
Tails: (Thinking: If the Metarex back off now, it's because they want us to head this way.)
They saw five Metarex ships pass them.
Chris: The Metarex ships just passed us. They aren't chasing us anymore.
Y/n: That proves our suspicion.
Tails: The Metarex are up to something.
Sonic: Looks that way.
Helen: Why could they possibly want us to go this way?
Knuckles: Chris, are there any Metarex ahead of us?
Chris: I've been trying to search the area with our scanners, but so far, I've haven't detected anything at all. It's possible that somebody's jamming our scanners.
Knuckles: Then it is a trap. We should turn around.
Sonic: No way. I'm really curious to know what the Metarex are scheming.
Knuckles: You want us to stay on course? That doesn't make any sense, Sonic. We're bound to get attacked.
Sonic: That's what I'm hoping for.
Elsewhere.
The black Metarex was sitting on a throne and receiving orders from Dark Oak via radio.
Dark Oak: Send a fleet of battleships to destroy Sonic and Y/n now.
Black Metarex: No. I want to confront them face to face. It's much more challenging and amusing.
Dark Oak: Do not underestimate those hedgehogs and their friends. Remember what happened to your fellow Commander, Red Pine?
Black Metarex: Red Pine was a weak fool. He did not have the right skills to defeat Sonic or Y/n, but I do. It's all a matter of brainpower. You see, it's impossible to vanquish a powerful opponent unless you understand them. I have built three prototype robots to test the hedgehog and Thunderhog's abilities. Perhaps they can defeat Sonic and Y/n. If not, I'll use the data from their attack to construct another robot that will destroy them!
Dark Oak: Do not forget, Spruce has requested that he and he alone will destroy the Thunderhog.
Black Metarex: Sorry, but that fool is growing too patient. If he won't destroy the Thunderhog, than I will.
Back on the Typhoon.
Tails: The scanners picked up a planet dead ahead.
Amy: But I thought the Metarex were jamming our sensors.
Tails: Well, I guess they changed their mind, and decided to stop jamming them for some reason, Amy.
Knuckles: Thanks for straightening that out for us.
Chris: I'll bring a magnified view up on the main screen.
The main screen show a small, barren planet.
Knuckles: That's magnified?
Amy: We can hardly see anything.
Helen: Hey, cut him some slack!
Chris: Yeah. I can make the image bigger. I'll just have to zoom in digitally.
Helen: See.
Chris zoomed in really close, showing a crater.
Knuckles: not exactly a prime piece of Real Estate, is it?
Tails and Y/n looked closer.
Tails: Huh? Hold on! Look at those readings. The computer analysis shows those craters were all made recently. The Metarex probably kept attacking this planet until it was totally lifeless.
Cosmo: Tails is right.
Y/n: What? Was taking the Planet Egg not enough?
Star: They're truly heartless.
Knuckles: I thought it was a bad idea to come here, but I've changed my mind. If these Metarex want to challenge us, then I say bring 'em on! The scanners have located their base. Let's go there and make 'em pay for what they did to this planet.
Amy: They think they fooled us, which will make it even sweeter when we beat those Metarex.
Tails: Okay, let's go for it!
Cream: Turning off all Shields to increase power. We're ready to go!
Chaos: Let's take it to 'em.
They began to fly closer when Chris saw the sensors going off.
Chris: Huh? This can't be right! The ship sensors have detected a bunch of Chaos Emeralds.
Chaos: I also feel it.
Cosmo: What's going on?
Cream: Didn't you adjust the sensors so you wouldn't pick up any more fake Emeralds?
Sonic: What makes you think these Emeralds are fake? They could be real.
Chaos: The readings are ever so slightly off. So slightly, you wouldn't be able to tell at first.
Star: Plus, there are only seven Emeralds. These are like way more than that.
Cream: Yeah. There's no way this many Chaos Emeralds exist.
Sonic: How many of them are out there?
Tails: About 500.
Sonic: Whoa. That's a big rock collection.
Chaos: That does get me thinking. It's seven Emeralds make me Perfect Chaos, then what would that many do.
Y/n: I think you'd get stronger, but it won't affect your form in any way. That's your Perfect form after all.
Chris: It looks like these fake Chaos Emeralds are a lot more advance then the others we've seen.
Y/n: This could possibly mean they have more than one or two real Emeralds this time.
Knuckles: Those Metarex are definitely clever.
Cosmo: But they're also devious and dangerous.
Y/n: It took almost everything me, Chaos, and Star had just to force Spruce to retreat.
Star: I still haven't fully recovered from that.
Amy: Speaking of the Metarex, you guys, it looks like they're sending us a message.
The message that was being sent was in the same language Cosmo and Star decipher.
Knuckles: This is the first time they've ever sent us a text message.
Tails: I'll turn on the translator.
Cosmo: You don't have to bother. I can read it. "Greetings, space voyagers. It was I who sent the Metarex to attack your ship and chase you down. You were being tested, and you have passed with honor. I admire your great courage, and I invite you to visit my base. I am Black Narcissus, a commander of the Metarex."
Knuckles: So he's inviting us to his base? Let's send him an RSVP on a missile.
Amy: If we do go to that base, you should stay on the ship. You're much too hot-headed for this mission.
Knuckles: What?! I am not a hot-head!
Amy: Oh, yeah?
Helen: You're only providing her point by getting mad.
Chris: (chuckling) She got you!
Cosmo: There's more.
Chris: Really? What else does it say, Cosmo?
Cosmo: I'm all mixed up! I meant to say there isn't anything more to the message!
Star: Yep. That's all.
Sonic: Okay, let's go and say hello.
Tails: I doubt the Metarex will invite us back after we wreck the place.
While everyone laughed, Cosmo and Star left the room which only Chris noticed. The two sisters went down the elevator to the cockpit.
Star: Don't you think we should've at least told Y/n?
Cosmo: No. The message said to come alone. If Y/n found out, he'd insist on coming with us.
They made it to the cockpit and got in Amy's ship.
Star: This secret better be good if it's making me deceive my husband.
Cosmo: I hope they'll forgive us for this.
Back in the bridge.
They got an alert that missiles were being fired towards them.
Tails: The Metarex just fired missiles at us.
Amy: That isn't a very warm welcome.
Cheese: Chao chao!
Cream: Sending more power to the front shields.
Knuckles: These Metarex are playing games with us. I knew they were sneaky, but this is a new low.
Sonic: Cosmo?
Y/n: Star?
Cream: They're coming in fast!
Knuckles: There's too many of them is shoot down!
Amy: (gasp) Hey, Sonic! According to the sensors, those missiles are packed with potassium nitrate and aluminum. That's weird.
Sonic: I don't get it.
Tails: Well, those chemicals are used in fireworks.
Y/n: Meaning, they're going to blind-
The missiles blew up and made a blinding light.
Knuckles: I had a feeling this trip was gonna blow up in our faces.
While everyone was blinded, Star and Cosmo flew into Narcissus' base and landed in front of a tunnel where they heard Narcissus'.
Black Narcissus: You may proceed through the tunnel. I am waiting for you two.
They walked through the tunnel that led to a dark room.
Black Narcissus: So you both came alone. You are braver than I thought. I rather suspected that you would lose your nerve.
Cosmo: Where are you? Is there some reason why you're hiding from us?
Star: Don't tell me that you're scared you'll lose to a lady.
The lights turned on and showed Narcissus on a throne.
Black Narcissus: Clam yourself. You have nothing to fear... so far. Welcome to my base.
Cosmo: You promised to tell us everything. I want to know the truth about my ancestors and the Metarex.
Star: As the current head of the Seedrians, I have every right to know.
Cosmo: You tell us now, or we're leaving!
Black Narcissus: Foolish, girls. You aren't going anywhere. You're both incredibly naive. Don't you realize you've been tricked? The only reason I brought you here was to make you both my prisoners.
Cosmo: Prisoners?
Back on the ship.
Tails turned on the translator for the message Narcissus sent.
Tails: "Answers I have about your clan that you seek. To my base you will come in five minutes when I launch the missiles at your ship."
Amy: That message doesn't make any sense. Are you sure the translator is working?
Tails: I think so.
Cream: Cosmo and Star are the only ones who understand the Metarex's writing. Have Sonic and big brother figured out where they went?
Tails: Not yet, but I'm sure they'll find them soon and send them to the bridge.
Sonic: (Over com: I wouldn't count on that, if I were you. Amy's ship is missing.)
Y/n: (Over com: My guess is that Black Narcissus' message was directed at them.)
Tails: Huh? How could they leave the Blue Typhoon without the sensors spotting them?
Sonic: They must have had help from a hacker.
Tails: But the only one who could hack into the system other than me and Y/n, is Chris.
Sonic: He's gone, too.
Helen: What?!
Y/n: What was that fool thinking?!
In Narcissus base.
Chris was standing in front of Star and Cosmo.
Chris: Listen to me. There must be a way to work this out peacefully. Can't we just try?
Black Narcissus: Silence! I have no intention of negotiating with you. You were not invited here. Return to your ship at once, or you will be destroyed.
Cosmo: We're sorry we got you involved in this mess, Chris.
Chris: Forget it, okay? It's not like you two force me to come along. I wanted to help you both. I still don't understand exactly why you wanted to come here, I'm sure you had a good reason.
Cosmo: We did! Please understand, we had to come! We had to. Really!
Star: It was my fault! I'm head of the Seedrians, I was supposed to take charge and make the smart decision!
Chris: (laugh) I'm sorry to laugh, guys. It's just, you both remind me of myself when I was younger.
Cosmo: When you were younger?
Chris: When we make it back to the Blue Typhoon, I'll try to explain. Let's get going.
They began to walk away.
Black Narcissus: Hold it! Your friends Cosmo and Star stays here.
Chris: Sorry, but I don't think so!
Chris threw down a flash bomb to blind Narcissus and grabbed Star and Cosmo.
Chris: Come on, guys!
Narcissus wasn't phased by the bomb.
Black Narcissus: This is the most dismal escape attempt I've ever seen. I'll give them a head start to try and add some excitement.
They ran for Amy's ship, but the door of the tunnel closed.
Chris: Don't worry, I've got everything under control.
He used a remote to make Amy's ship blast a hole through the door.
Chris: Now let's go.
Suddenly, Chris got hit directly by Narcissus, knocking him out.
Cosmo: Chris, are you all right?
Black Narcissus: Your friend is not hurt... for now. I must say, I'm rather pleased he tried to flee. It's been too long since I've felt the thrill I'm taking down a foe with my own hands. I must try it more often.
Star: You're gonna pay for that, Narcissus!
Star threw seeds at the ground and they sprouted into big Vines that wrapped around Narcissus.
Black Narcissus: What?!
Star: Now to finish this!
Star punched Narcissus in the chest, but it only left a small dent.
Star: What?
Black Narcissus: Ha! Is that all you've got, little flower? I guess you're still sore after your fight with Spruce.
Narcissus slapped Star across the face, making her hit the ground.
Cosmo: Sister!
Back on the Typhoon.
The Typhoon aimed the main cannon at the planet.
Tails: Okay, this is it. Target coordinates for base are set. Prepare to load the Lightning Sonic Power Cannon.
Amy: I hope Sonic and Y/n bring Chris, Cosmo, and Star back here safely, so I can pound some sense into them!
Helen: You can, but only after I've kicked some sense into them!
Cream: I can't believe Chris was so reckless. Who does he think he is, Knuckles?
Knuckles: Cut the chatter, and let's get on with the attack.
Amy: Take it easy. We're ready.
Knuckles: Then let's go. Tails, let's fire up the cannon to full power.
Tails: Yeah. If we can get Sonic and Y/n in there fast, we may catch Black Narcissus by surprise.
Sonic and Y/n ran in the cannon and on the pad.
Tails: All set, guys?
Sonic: Sure are! That Metarex won't know what hit him.
Y/n: Normally, I'd ask you to stay back on the ship, Chaos. But if this is the commander, we can't take any chances.
Chaos: I'll hold on tight.
Knuckles: Okay, then I'll get the cannon ready to fire.
Tails: Increase the power level to maximum energy now. Sonic, Y/n, Chaos, prepare for launch!
Sonic and Y/n entered Spindash.
Tails: I'm locking on target.
The electricity began to charge them up.
Tails: Get ready! We're blasting you at that base, full speed! Lightning Sonic Power Cannon, fire!
The two hedgehogs were fired into the base and went through several floors until they hit a floor with hundreds of Chaos Emeralds.
Sonic: The scanner was right. There are a lot of fake Emeralds here.
Y/n: Well, you would know, Faker.
Sonic shivered a little.
Y/n: What's wrong?
Sonic: Suddenly, I don't feel so great.
Y/n: Well, we were blasted through several floors.
Chaos: That experience was most unpleasant.
Black Narcissus: Sonic and Y/n the Hedgehog. How kind of you both to drop in. I've been looking forward to meeting you two. Won't you join me in my command center?
They looked up and saw the next floor where Narcissus' voice came from and jumped up to see Narcissus' on a throne.
Black Narcissus: (chuckling) You're not at all what I expected. I didn't think you'd be so... scrawny. It's hard to believe that either of you are great fighters.
Y/n: Haven't you ever been taught that looks can be deceiving.
Sonic: Yeah. Maybe later we can prove to you how tough we are. But right now, we want to see our friends.
Y/n: And my wife.
Sonic: Now, are you gonna show us where they are?
Black Narcissus: Of course I will. Your friends have not been harmed. In fact, the only reason I took them prisoner was to lure you two here. You see, I've heard so many stories about your powers that I decided to bring you here for an experiment.
Sonic: Sorry, pal, but we're hedgehogs, not guinea pigs.
Y/n: And I'm the inventor here. I run the test, I don't do them.
Sonic: Now, where are our friends?
Y/n: You tell me where my wife, my sister-in-law and my best friend's idiot is, or I'll blow up this entire base and you along with it.
Black Narcissus: You both will cooperate with my experiment. We will start by collecting data on Sonic's your strength and speed, then Y/n's lightning.
Sonic: I already told you... There's no way we're gonna help you. Now show us where our friends are!
Y/n: Don't think I won't follow through with my threat.
Black Narcissus: Since you refuse, then I will have to experiment on your friends.
He pushed a button on his throne and a glass containment pod rose up with Cosmo, a bruised Star, and an unconscious Chris inside it.
Cosmo: This is a trap, Sonic!
Star: Go on! Forget about us!
Y/n: Star!
Cosmo: Sonic! Get out!
Black Narcissus: Your friends really make a pathetic lot.
Sonic and Y/n ran to the glass.
Sonic: Chris! Cosmo!
Y/n: Star, what happened?!
Star: I'm sorry! This was never meant to happen!
Y/n: Chaos, quick! Break the glass!
Black Narcissus: I wouldn't do that if I were you.
The case lowered back into the lower floor.
Black Narcissus: The fate of your friends rests entirely in your hands. If you choose to oppose me, then I assure you, they will pay a painful price. It should be quite entertaining.
Narcissus laughed while Sonic grimaced and Y/n was still processing everything.
Black Narcissus: Well, Sonic and Y/n, what is your decision? Are you both ready to proceed with the experiments?
Sonic: I've never seen Cosmo look so scared.
Black Narcissus: She should be.
Sonic: And Chris was passed out.
Chaos: (Whispering: My Lord, you aren't seriously gonna give in, are you?)
Y/n: (Whispering: I don't like the idea either, but we can't let him kill them. For now, we're just gonna have to do what he says.) Fine. We'll do it.
Y/n noticed some sort of dark aura around Sonic.
Y/n: (Thinking: Strange. Sonic never used a form like this before.)
Black Narcissus: It is time for the experiment.
Three Metarex stepped in the room. A gold one, a silver one, and a purple one.
Black Narcissus: These three metax were designed by me, especially for this occasion. The first two are for you, Sonic. Gold will test your strength, and Silver, your speed. The final one, Purple, will test Y/n's lightning. I based my Metarex designs on data that was collected during previous battles against you. I'm eager to see if they're powerful enough to defeat you two.
Sonic began to chuckle.
Sonic: All right, then. Let's test 'em out!
Sonic sliced Silver to pieces and beat Gold everywhere, making them both explode. In the smoke showed a dark silhouette of Sonic with no pupils or irises.
Y/n: Now it's my turn. I'll make this quick.
Y/n entered Thunder Mode and shot a lightning bolt through Purple's chest, killing him instantly.
Sonic: Looks like you'll have to go back to the drawing board.
Y/n: Is that it?
Black Narcissus: Not yet. There's still one more experiment I'd like to try. You two must fight each other. See, I've always wondered to myself, "Out of the two hedgehogs, which one is stronger"? And now is the perfect time for me to find out.
Y/n: (Thinking: Okay, it's clear he just wants us to kill each other. Honestly, you'd have to be an absolute moron to actually fall for such a-)
Before Y/n could finish his thoughts, Sonic kicked Y/n straight in the face into a wall.
Chaos: My Lord!
Y/n jumped out of the wall and wiped his bleeding nose.
Y/n: Okay. I can't not hit the Faker now.
Y/n ran full speed at Sonic and hit him with a straight uppercut.
Y/n: Chaos, stay on the sidelines. This is between me and Sonic.
Chaos: But-
Y/n: I said stand down! That's an order.
Chaos: Y-Yes, My Lord.
Y/n and Sonic began to trade blows, the mere collision of their fist making a shockwave that could be felt from the Typhoon.
Knuckles: Man, do you guys feel that?
Helen: It's some sort of shockwave. I hope Sonic and Y/n are okay.
Sonic was sent into the wall.
Y/n: The hell is your game here, Sonic?
Sonic: When have I ever gamed in a serious situation like this.
Y/n: You really want me to go through the list? Because right now I can tell you that this the latest addition to the list. You wanted to play around with these Metarex, so you fell into this trap on purpose. And look where it lead.
Sonic Spindashed Y/n through the next floor.
Sonic: Oh, don't act like you care. Almost a year ago, if you had seen all this you wouldn't have cared in the slightest!
Y/n: You think I was always cold hearted? You don't know what you take for granted.
Sonic: And what would that be?
Y/n: The love your friends give you. The brotherly love Tails gives you and the romantic love Amy gives you. Yet where is there gratitude for this love? Between you and me, before I met any of you, I wished I had a younger sibling to be there to comfort me and help me through my father's death and someone who loves me at least half as much as Amy loves to you.
Y/n hit Sonic with Spindash and then kicked him down to the floor.
Sonic: You really think you would deserve any of it? Y/n, the Monster of Mobius. You blame your father's death on the world, but really it was because you were too slow to save him.
Y/n clenched his fist hearing that and the lightning around began to spark more frequently.
Sonic: Not only that, but you weren't fast enough to stop Spark. So tell me, "Lord Y/n." When will you be fast enough to save everyone you care about?
A thunder cloud formed over Narcissus' base.
Black Narcissus: What is this?
Chaos: Something that can not be good. Sonic, you need to-
Y/n: No, Chaos. Let's let him continue.
Sonic: You Y/n, are a disgrace to the Thunderhogs.
Y/n dropped his limiters with that and the cloud struck him with a powerful bolt of lightning.
Black Narcissus: What is going on here?!
Chaos: Sonic, that'll do just fine.
Y/n's quills went up like in his super form, more electricity surrounded his body, his eyes went from E/c to light blue and his pupils became lightning bolts, and his hands were engulfed with light blue lightning. As he took this new form his face was of utter rage as he hovered above the ground and let out a war cry as lightning expelled out.
Black Narcissus: Well, this could get interesting.
Y/n shot lightning at Sonic who easily dodged it, but Y/n turned into lightning and hit Sonic into three walls before go back to his physical form.
Black Narcissus: I don't believe it. He actually became lightning itself.
Chaos: No Thunderhog in history has used a form like this.
Back on the Typhoon.
Helen: Guys, something's up with the lightning sensors. His electrical waves suddenly got stronger.
Knuckles: This Metarex must've really pissed Y/n off.
Cream: Is big brother in trouble?
Tails: Y/n's a great Thunderhog warrior. He'll be fine.
Back at the base.
Y/n flew to where Sonic was just getting up.
Y/n: Now to finish this.
Chaos jumped in front of Sonic.
Chaos: Lord Y/n, wait!
Y/n: I ordered you to stay on the sidelines.
Chaos: I'm sorry, My Lord. But this is the one order I will not obey. He did wrong and I understand that, but killing him is not gonna fix anything.
???: He's right, you can't do this!
Star ran from behind and hugged Y/n's back, making his look soften.
Y/n: Star? How are you-
Eggman and his robots walked in.
Eggman: Settle down, you two. I don't think I've ever seen you this worked up before, Sonic.
Decoe: You two are not the only ones having a bad day, you know.
Bocoe: Our trip was a real Space Odyssey.
Y/n: The hell are you doing here?
Eggman: We had some mechanical difficulties. For some reason, the Egg Drive got scrambled up. Space travel is tricky. I have warped past so many planets, I'm starting to see stars. Listen, you two. I'm really disappointed in you two. I expected something like this from Y/n, but you should know better, Sonic. And you, Y/n. I thought you were done being a senseless jerk. Tell me, what would Helen and Cream think if they were here and saw you acting this way?
Y/n's face lost all its anger and he dropped out of his new form.
Eggman: From now on, be careful not to let your temper get out of control, or one of these days, you two may find you're always angry, just like another hedgehog we know. You three should get out of here. And don't worry about your other two crewmates. Shadow already rescued them.
With Cosmo and Chris.
Shadow put the still unconscious Chris in the back of the ship.
Shadow: Hmm. The kid will be all right. I hope you learned your lesson. Next time, I may not be around to save you.
Later.
Everyone was back on the ship.
Helen: Now, you just give me one good reason why I shouldn't kick you right upside the freaking head!
Chris: Uh, because I'm already hurt enough as it is.
Y/n was looking down.
Cream: Big brother, are you okay?
Y/n: Yeah, just tired.
Cream: You want me and Cheese to come snuggle with you?
Y/n: (blushing) S-Sure.
Y/n took Cream's hand and lead her and Cheese to his room.
Amy: He must really be upset about something. Cream tells me he only sleeps with Cream when he's really mad about something.
Sonic: I understand why.
Elsewhere.
Spruce: You fool!
Spruce grabbed Narcissus by the throat and rose him up.
Spruce: I told you, the Thunderhog was mine and mine alone! Yet you helped him unlock a new form!
Narcissus: But I was able to get such great info you can use.
Spruce: Then you got beat by that moron, Eggman. That fool couldn't defeat the Thunderhog with an army of his useless robots.
Spruce threw Narcissus into a wall.
Spruce: Don't you ever go after my pray again! All of you, get this worthless pile of filth out of my face!
Two Metarex guards took Narcissus to the medical ward and Spruce punched his throne, breaking it.
Spruce: The Thunderhog, the Seedrian, Eggman, and now even my fellow Commanders! I am tired of all these people who do not know their place!
