The only thing you did during the day was eat something, take a bath, and watch movies. You had a Fast and Furious marathon, but you only made it to the third one. You turned off the TV, replied to some emails, and started editing your vlog. It had become a habit for you to record on every trip, like a visual diary. You closed your computer and received a call from your brother.
-Hello brother.
-Hi sister!
-How were the practices?
-They went quite well. I felt comfortable in the car and managed to improve my lap time. The team also did a good job with the preparation. I hope things continue this way, although sometimes it feels like they're trying to sabotage me.
-I know but stay focused and do your part, I believe in you.
-Thank yous sis! Hey, we're going to dinner tonight, the usual crew, you know, Charlotte, Carlos, and me. Do you want to come?
-I'd love to, what time are we leaving?
-We'll meet in 30 minutes in the lobby.
-I'll see you then.
You stretched, got out of bed, and quickly pulled out the dress you received in the collaboration. You put it on, smiling as you looked at yourself in the mirror. It truly looked great on you, accentuating your figure. You opted for a pair of black open-toe heels, even though you weren't a fan of wearing heels. The ones you had weren't too high, but you always kept a pair handy for any occasion that might arise, like this one.
In the bathroom, you applied your makeup, using nude and a touch of black eyeshadow. You highlighted your innercorners, giving them a subtle glow. For your lips, you applied just a hint of gloss. You took one final look in the mirror, pleased with the result. You snapped a few mirror selfies and uploaded your favorite one to your Instagram story with the caption "night out" and a black heart. You checked the time and realized that 28 minutes had passed since your brother called. You grabbed your phone, slipping a card between the case and the phone. You headed to the elevator and descended to the lobby. As you stepped out of the elevator, you looked around, and there, near the door, they were already waiting for you. Charles looked up from his phone and smiled when he saw you. Charlotte waved to greet you, while Carlos had his back turned. As they acknowledged your presence, Carlos turned around to look at you, and you noticed a look of surprise on his face. You were walking towards them, and it was evident that you looked good, and he noticed it too. Carlos approached you with a mix of surprise and admiration in his eyes.
-Wow, you look absolutely stunning tonight. -He whispered in your ear. -You really know how to turn heads.
-Thank you, chili. -You smiled.
-You're 5 minutes late. -Your brother said jokingly.
-Don't listen to him. -Charlotte rolled her eyes and laughed.
You all walked together towards the restaurant, chatting and laughing along the way. Charles and Charlotte were engaged in a lively conversation, sharing funny anecdotes and catching up on recent events. Carlos, walking beside you, occasionally stole glances at you, his eyes filled with admiration. As you arrived at the restaurant, a warm and inviting ambiance greeted you. The entrance was adorned with soft lighting, casting a gentle glow on the surrounding area. The hostess warmly welcomed you, guiding you to your reserved table. The restaurant exuded an elegant and modern atmosphere, with stylish decor and tastefully arranged tables. The aroma of delicious food filled the air, enticing their senses and making your mouths water in anticipation.
Carlos helped you move the chair to sit down and took a seat beside you. Across from you were Charles and Charlotte. The waiter promptly arrived, attentively taking your orders and bringing appetizers to the table.
-Aren't you dying in those heels? -Charlotte asked you.
-The heels aren't killing me, my body is killing me. Everything hurts. -As soon as the words left your mouth, you immediately regretted them, remembering why you were feeling sore.
-Why does your body hurt if you've been lying around locked in your room? -Charles asked curiously.
-Well, I did some exercise today. -You said unconvincingly. No one would believe it; you don't exercise even if someone paid you to do it.
-You? Excercising? It must be a miracle!
-Yeah right. -You wanted to change the subject but Carlos did that for you.
-Lando talked to me today. -He said, and you felt nervous. On one hand, you didn't want them to find out about the break-up sex you had with him, but on the other hand, you didn't really care. It was your body and your decision. You didn't make any gestures and let him continue. -He told me that he spoke with you yesterday and wanted to apologize, he said he wanted to be on good terms with me and maintain our friendship, so I guess we're friends again.
-Oh chili, that's great, yeah we talked yesterday, I guess we're on good terms. He hasn't forgiven me yet, but it's progress. I hated putting your friendship with him at risk.
-Don't worry, it was as much my fault as it was yours. The good thing is that everything is getting sorted out, and I hope we can be together soon.
-We can't be together if you haven't even asked me out on a date, Carlos. -You chuckled. -We have to do things right. -He looked at you and was about to say something, but Charles interrupted him.
-Hey, remember you're not alone here, huh? All four of us are here, not just you two.
-Sorry, we'll pay attention to you now. -Carlos replied to him.
During the rest of the dinner, the atmosphere became more relaxed and lively. Charles, Charlotte, Carlos, and you shared laughs and conversations, reminiscing about anecdotes and enjoying each other's company. The waiter served the main dishes, and everyone savored the delicious food.
-And now, are you two together or what's happening? -Charlotte asked sipping her drink.
-We're not together. -You said.
-Yet, we're not together yet. -Carlos said firmly, Charles smiled.
-Who would've thought that my sister and my best friend would end up together? I always knew it, but both of you have been so foolish. If only you had confessed your love for each other since we were kids.
-You know, everything happens for a reason. Maybe it just wasn't the right time before. -That's what you were thinking.
-It does seem strange how things unfolded the way they did, but as Carlos said, everything happens for a reason. In the end, the universe puts you through what you're meant to experience, I suppose, without a specific order.
-I propose a game. We have to ask each other questions, and whoever doesn't want to answer must take a sip of their drink. -Charlotte suggested.
-Me and Carlos can't drink tonight, baby.
-Then you better answer all the questions we ask you.
You were running low on your drink, so you asked the waiter for another one. You ordered a margarita, and Charlotte requested a mojito. The waiter took your orders and returned with the drinks a few minutes later.
-Who's going first?
-Well, you can start since you suggested the game.
-Yes, you ask the first question. -You said laughing.
-Okay, Y/n...
-But don't ask me! I thought we were friends. -Charlotte smiled.
-Did you like Isa, Carlos' ex-girlfriend?
-This is interesting. -Carlos said, adjusting himself in his chair and looking directly at you. What a way to start this game.
-You better answer, Y/n, they're not a couple anymore and the guy is in love with you, c'mon! -Charlotte definitly had more than 2 mojitos tonight. You could feel the playful pressure from Carlos, urging you to answer.
-Here's the thing...Isa has been the only girlfriend of Carlos that I actually liked, I could tolerate her.
-What??? I thought you loved her. -Carlos said surprised.
-She wasn't my favorite person for obvious reasons but she was nice, kind of, I was just polite to her.
-Ok, my turn. -Charles said, looking at Carlos. -Since when have you liked my sister? Because when we were kids, you once told me that you thought she was pretty, and that's all I know. I'm lost in time.
-It's going to sound super ridiculous, but literally from the first day I met her. I never wanted to say anything because I didn't want to lose your friendship, and let's be honest, we were too immature back then. Our friendship would have gone down the drain.
-You're not wrong, mate. -You looked at Carlos and gave him a smile.
-My turn! -You said. -Charlotte, why did you only start dating my brother just now when he had been pursuing you for a long time?
-Honestly... -She looked at him. -Because I thought I wasn't up to his level, but then I realized that he really wanted to be with me, and I had also been wanting it for a long time, so here we are.
-Are you crazy? I am the one who's not at your level. -Charles kissed Charlotte.
-Ow! You're so cute. -You loved seeing your brother so happy.
-Y/n -Carlos pointed at you. -Who's better in bed? Pierre or Lando? -You blushed as soon as you heard his question.
-I'm not answering that. -You took your drink and took a sip.
-I actually wanted to know the answer. -Your brother said dissapointed.
-Don't worry, later her answer will be that it's me. -Carlos winked at you.
-Wait, you haven't...? -Charlotte asked confused.
-Okay, I don't want to hear about my sister's sex life. -Charles said and requested the bill.
