Having come to America on numerous occasions, Bruce knew all about the future's way of life. He wasn't crazy about it, the warrior thought that the people in the future where way ahead of themselves and that one day they would destroy earth, because they do not appreciate the simple way of life. They do not realize that technology is really a silent killer. As soon as Bruce stepped out of the building and into a back alley, he felt the radiation around him.
Placing Liandra on her feet, he looked into her surprised eyes and smiled. Liandras heart skipped a beat. The beast looked wild and sexy, and his smile caused her knees to grow weak.
"Where are you taking me beast?" She asked, even though she could have cared less. Anywhere he takes her is fine with her, she thought, as long as he doesn't dump her in a trash can.
"Scotland!" Was all he said before he turned around and marched away.
Scotland?
"What do you mean Scotland?" She asked, as she followed after him down the alley.
Bruce ignored her, he had already regretted bringing her with, she would only delay him and when he brings her back to Kenningsworth, then what?
"Beast stop! Where are we going?" She asked him again, until she realized that he understood her question and he had answered her.
That meant that he understood English! Liandras cheeks burned with shame. She had said many things to him up in the apartment and he had heard every word!
Who is he, she thought, why is he dressed in a kilt? Is he a crazy lunatic, is her life was in danger! And how the hell did he come out of a bottle?
Liandra looked around her for a place to run to, she feared for her life.
At that moment the warrior stopped in his tracks and turned around. Bruce read the fear in her eyes, and he took a step forward cautiously.
"Do not fear me Liandra, I would never hurt you!" He told her, knowing very well that once they return home, he would hurt her.
His voice was deep and masculine, Liandra lowered her eyes to his full lips and her heart skipped a beat. He was drop dead gorgeous!
"I..I...do not know a thing about you, and you are dressed weird!"
"My name is Bruce MacCane, future Laird of Kenningsworth." he told her.
That would explain the kilt, but why would he wear it in public and risk being called a nut? She thought.
"Where do you live?"
"I live in Scotland, and I need to hurry and find my way back before it is too late!"
"To late for what?" Liandra asked him, trying to gather as much information about him as she could.
"It's been eight hundred years! My position has probably been passed down to my brother!" He said, and he cursed under his breath when he saw Liandra prepare to run for her life. She thought him mad!
"Stad!" the Druid yelled in an authoritative voice, "I will not hurt you, I promise!"
"How can I believe you? You're wearing a kilt in freezing cold weather, and you came out of a bottle!" She cried, taking a few steps back.
"And you're naked and claim you love me after just having met me! Does that make you mad?" He asked her, and his eyes glistened with laughter when her eyes widened and she looked down at her naked body.
Bruce pulled her in his arms before she had a chance to respond, and said, "You'll catch your death cold Liandra!"
When Liandra pulled away from him, she was dressed in warm clothes, and she looked at the warrior with a questioning gaze, and saw that he too was dressed.
"How... what..what just happened here?" she asked, "how did you do that?"
"Stop distracting me with all your questions! We need to get to an airport, I must return home!" He told her. "I will explain everything to you later, but now I need for you to trust me!"
Before Liandra had a chance to respond, Bruce zapped them to the airport. Liandra blinked several times to make sure that she wasn't dreaming. "How did you do that?"
Bruce ignored her and marched to the international gate, Liandra ran after him. "Two tickets to Scotland please." Bruce said to the beautiful blonde behind the counter, and she fluttered her eye lashes flirtatiously at him.
"Yes of course.." She told him and looked into the computer.
Liamdra came up behind him and whispered, "What the hell are you doing! Where did you get the money to pay for this? we don't even have passports!" She told him when he pulled out of his jeans a pile of money, and two passports.
Bruce looked down at her, "I will explain later, let me finish getting the tickets and I will answer all your questions."
Turning his attention back to the flight attendant, he handed her the money and the passports, and she stamped the passports and handed them back to him along with the tickets for Scotland.
"Come Liandra, we have to get to gate seventeen, our flight leaves in half an hour!" He told her. Grabbing her hand, he pulled her with him through the major crowds and reached gate 407 just in time
Flight 407 is now boarding for Scotland
"That's us, come on!" Bruce said, and pulled Liandra to the line that was forming to board.
Once they boarded the airplane and sat in their seats, Liandra turned and faced Bruce, "Can you tell me the truth now?" She said to him, "start from the beginning and make sure what you tell me will sound believable!"
"What do you want to know first?" He told her, and his eyes sparkled with laughter because he knew that whatever he told her, she would not believe him.
"How was it possible that you came out of a bottle?" She whispered.
"A witch cursed me in there for eight hundred years!" He told her simply.
Liandra rolled her eyes and sighed. She knew that she wasn't going to get a straight answer from him.
"You ask me a question and I tell you the answer and then you look at me as if I'm a liar!"
"Everything you tell me doesn't make sense, nothing about you make sense!" She snapped.
"Then what's the point of me telling you anything If you won't believe a single thing I say?" He asked her.
Liandra closed her eyes and faked sleep. This conversation wasn't going anywhere, she would have to wait and see what happens once they land in Scotland.
The flight was a long eight hours before they reached Amsterdam and boarded the second airplane that would take them straight to Scotland.
Making herself comfortable in a seat by the window, Bruce sat next to her and whispered, "We are almost there."
