Narrator: Last time on "Sonic X x Male Reader", a case of mistaken identity that set one of our speedy heroes on the run. His trouble doubles when a robber ripped off an Emerald, and cameras showed a hedgehog making the heist. As the Project: Shadow investigation continued, Sonic made a shocking discovery. Sonic and Shadow went head-to-head in a brutal battle with a chaotic finish. Y/n stepped in and with the help of Chaos he was able to hold his ground, but Shadow still beat him in the end. Trapped by government forces, Y/n arrested Sonic who was taken to Prison Island. Later, Y/n and Chaos went to Eggman's new base and said that they wanted to work for him with Y/n even revealing his true identity. Sonic was sitting in a tank underwater.
Sonic: Oh, well! If I can't get out of here, I might as well kick back and relax!
With Chris and Mr. Tanaka.
They were in a motorboat wearing trench coats hats and bandit mask.
Mr. Tanaka: We're still quite far from Prison Island, but we can't take this motorboat in any closer because of their radar. Their security systems are so advanced that they would spot us long before we ever reach the coast, and if they do detect us, they will send out armed boats to intercept and arrest us.
Chris: So, what are we gonna do?
Mr. Tanaka: Luckily, I've thought up a way to thwart their system. It is high-tech, so we will fool it using my low-tech solution!
He threw a swan paddle boat into the water.
Mr. Tanaka: They'll be looking for motorboats, but this paddle boat will let us duck under their radar.
They got in and started paddling.
Chris: I don't know about this, Mr. Tanaka. I feel kind of goofy.
Mr. Tanaka: We can make it. We just have to paddle faster!
Mr. Tanaka did paddle faster and the boat did a wheelie on the water. And that's when Eggman showed up in the Egg-carrier and lunched some sort of weird frequency that shut off the cameras and communications on Prison Island. He then went into the forest on the Island.
Eggman: I wonder if I'm pushing my luck, breaking into the place a second time.
Decoe: Perhaps. The security on the island has been upgraded since your last visit. You must be careful. When they restore communications, they will send robots to stop your team.
Bocoe: Their robotic designs are greatly improved! With their new defenses, it will be almost impossible to enter that compound again.
Eggman: Well, nothing is going to stop me from breaking in and taking those Chaos Emeralds. Shadow said I need to obtain all seven Emeralds in order to operate the Eclipse Cannon.
Decoe: But are you sure it's worth the risk, Doctor?
Eggman: (laugh) Once I get that Cannon working, I'll be unstoppable!
Rouge, Shadow, Y/n, and Chaos who was still in Y/n's bracelet went to Eggman.
Rouge: Okay, Eggy, fill them in!
Eggman: According to Rouge, the Chaos Emeralds are stored in a vault inside the compound. I must have them!
Rouge: No problem, just leave it to me!
Decoe: Do not trust her!
Bocoe: She wants it for herself!
Y/n: Noisy nuisances.
Decoe: You're not off the hook either, light blue boy!
Eggman cut off communication with them.
Eggman: They get on my nerves! Let's get down to the nitty gritty, shall we? In the first phase of my plan, I'll go around the island wreaking havoc and drawing guards from their posts, clearing the way for you three to enter the compound. Then, Shadow moves in. He'll blow up the whole island by sneaking into the weapons center and setting off all the ammunition store there with this miniature detonation device.
He threw the device to Shadow who caught it and nodded.
Eggman: Meanwhile, Rouge will proceed to the warehouse where the Chaos Emeralds are locked away and remove them. Y/n and Chaos will take out any robot's that get in your way. We will then meet up at the rendezvous point and make our escape. We have exactly 30 minutes. If you run into trouble, you're on your own.
All four of them nodded.
Eggman: Let's go!
All five of them went on the move. Eggman got their attention by firing missiles at them and they sent a bunch of robots and missiles after him he was easily able to make them destroy themselves.
With Tails and Amy.
They were flying to Prison Island in the X-Tornado and saw the chaos that was happening.
Tails: What's goin' on?
Amy: It looks like somebody's fighting.
Tails: We'd better get down there and find Sonic!
Back on the island.
Shadow and Rouge made it to the entrance where the X-Tornado landed and Amy got out of and ran to Shadow and hugged him.
Amy: Oh, Sonic! What a relief! I came here to rescue you, but you escaped all by yourself! Sonic?
She let go and noticed that Rouge was there and that Shadow wasn't Sonic.
Amy: You're not Sonic! Who are you?
Eggman showed up.
Eggman: None of your business! Now get lost!
Amy: Dr. Eggman!
Eggman: Shadow. Rouge. Carry out your assignments!
He fired a missile at the door and when it was destroyed, Rouge and Shadow ran in. Eggman then turned his focus on Amy and Tails.
Eggman: I'll take care of you!
Amy: Keep away!
Tails: Amy!
Eggman: If you wanna fight me, Tails. Be my guest, but don't think I'm leaving you, Amy. I'm leaving you to a couple new men. You shouldn't have too much trouble remembering them.
Amy: Huh?
She felt an ominous presence behind her and when Amy turned around she saw Y/n was behind her.
Amy: Y/n?
Tails: Boy, are we glad to see you. Quick, knock Eggman out and we can go save Sonic.
Y/n stayed silent.
Tails: Y/n?
Amy: Uh, what are you waiting for? Knock him out!
Y/n: I'm afraid I can't do that.
Amy: Huh?
Tails: What do you mean?
Eggman offered a hand to Y/n who took it and Eggman pulled Y/n to his side.
Amy: Y/n, what are you doing? That's Dr. Eggman!
Y/n: You think I don't know that?
Tails: Wait, don't tell me you're working for Eggman?!
Y/n: Bingo, fox boy.
Amy: I knew I didn't like you! And this betrayal proves why!
Y/n: Betrayal? Who's to say I was even on your side in the first place? I was just using you to learn about your strengths and weaknesses. Now that I have those, I no longer see any use for you.
Tails was both angry and sad at the same time.
Tails: So tell me! All the time we spent together, all the memories we made, did they mean absolutely nothing to you!?
Y/n: Seems about right.
Tails shedded a single tear.
Y/n: I should have expected this. If you keep puppets around for too long, they become attached to more than just strings.
Amy: Tails, you got Eggman! This jerk is mine!
Y/n: If you insist.
Tails and Eggman took to the sky while Amy jumped at Y/n with her hammer.
Y/n: Foolish attempt.
Y/n easily blocked it and kicked Amy in the side which made her skid back.
Amy: Now you're really going to get it!
Amy swang her hammer at Y/n who blocked it again, but Amy smirked and kicked him in the chest then was about to hit him in the head with her hammer, Chaos' arm shot out of Y/n's bracelet and stopped the hammer.
Chaos: It seems you forgot you were facing us both.
Chaos' arm incised Y/n's arm and he punched Amy in the face which sent her further back than the kick and made her nose bleed.
Y/n: I'll give you credit for that kick, but I think we both know your no match for me. I got more important things to do, so I'll leave you to these guys.
Chaos took off Y/n's gloves who bit both his thumbs and slapped the ground.
Y/n: Summoning Technique!
He summoned his three gaint Chao.
Y/n: Take care of her for me.
Chao: Yes, sir/dude.
Y/n ran in the compound.
Amy: Guardian. Shell. Blade. You three too? What's going on?
Guardian: We don't owe a little princess like you an explanation!
Blade: We're gonna have to get rid of you, dudet.
Shell: In a civilized way of course.
Inside the compound.
Shadow was gliding through the compound and remembered what Eggman told him.
Eggman: Shadow will speed through the building and sabotage the weapons center. Meanwhile, Rouge will sneak into the warehouse. Once she gets in, we will grab the Chaos Emeralds.
Rouge got passed the laser detector and made it to the vault.
Rouge: I can feel those Emeralds here. All I have to do is break into the vault and help myself.
She walked to the keyboard.
Rouge: Ah! Crackin' the code will be a cinch.
She typed in the code and the vault opened for her. What you didn't know was that a robot was behind her and was about to shoot her, but some type of whip came out of nowhere and destroyed it. The whip can from Y/n who used Chaos' arm as the whip.
Eggman: And both Y/n and Chaos will make it easier by destroying any robot that might get in their way.
Outside the compound.
Chris and Mr. Tanaka were climbing up the side of island and Tails landed right outside the compound after Eggman mysteriously left.
Tails: Amy!
He looked around but didn't see her.
Tails: Where'd she go?
Tails did see Guardian, Shell, and Blade unconscious and they disappeared in smoke.
Tails: I still can't believe this.
Inside the compound.
Rouge now had the red and light blue Chaos Emeralds and went to another vault while Shadow was setting up the detonator and talked into his watch.
Shadow: Doctor, the detonator is ready to go, but I need to know how long to set the timer for.
Eggman: (Over radio: Good work, Shadow! You can set the detonator to go off in exactly 15 minutes. Will that be enough time for you, Rouge?)
Rouge: I can't be out of here in five minutes, easy.
Eggman: (Over radio: All right, then, set the detonator for ten minutes.)
Shadow: Right, Doctor.
Shadow set the time.
Y/n: You know, Doctor, Sonic should still be locked up here somewhere. Just give the order, and I'll take care of him for good.
Eggman: (Over radio: Very well. Take him out, Y/n.)
With Sonic.
He was still in his cell when he saw Amy who had a few bruises and scratches on her using the tube to get to Sonic's cell and ended up right outside Sonic cage.
Amy: Bet you're surprised to see me! I rushed here to rescue you from this awful island! You ready?
Sonic: Why are all covered in bruises.
Amy: That's an unfortunate thing, but we'll talk about it after we get you out.
Amy pulled out her hammer.
Amy: I'll open your cell now. You better step back, Sonic. I wouldn't want you to get injured like me.
Sonic: I dunno, Amy, these bars are pretty strong.
Amy: Well, I happen to be pretty and strong, too!
Out of nowhere, a gold robot drone appeared behind Amy.
Sonic: Amy, look out!
Amy saw the drone and started wailing on it with her hammer.
Amy: Don't you know it's rude to show up someplace uninvited? And don't bother me when I'm trying to rescue Sonic!
Sonic: Amy! That was great!
Amy: Now I'm going to bash down the bars of your cell, Sonic.
Sonic: No, Amy, you can't do that!
Amy: Don't worry, Sonic, my feelings for you will give me the strength to free you!
Sonic: But, Amy, I let Y/n arrest me and let the cops drag me on Prison Island on purpose so that I could learn somethin' about me and Y/n's lookalike.
Amy: Your lookalike? You mean that creepy hedgehog I thought was you?
Sonic: Did you see him? Do you know where he is now? And did he do this to you, Amy?
Amy: You really wanna know the second thing?
Sonic: Yes, I do!
Amy: If I tell you, will you finally take me out to do something fun?
Sonic: I don't have to.
Amy: Hmm, why not?
Sonic: What could be more fun than this?
Amy: My idea of fun is more like going out to have a pizza, or seeing a movie together. But since I like you, I'll tell you that when Tails and I landed here, we saw a red and black hedgehog near the entrance being ordered around by Eggman.
Sonic: I should've figured that Eggman would be involved in this mess!
Amy saw all the complex math equations the walls of Sonic's cell.
Amy: Have you been doing math on your wall?
Sonic: That was there before. Watch out, here I come!
Sonic jumped off the wall and broke down the door to his cell.
Sonic: I'm gonna need you to help hammer our way out of this prison, Amy.
Amy: Let's go!
Sonic: After all, we can't let the impostor hedgehog get away with hurting you.
Amy: (sigh) Actually, he didn't do this.
Sonic: Then who did?
Amy: You might not like the answer. It was Y/n.
Sonic: Did you two get into one of your little fights?
Amy: No, that jerk was just using us from the start and is now working for Eggman.
Sonic: Come on, Amy. You have to be joking.
???: Unfortunately for you, she isn't.
They saw Y/n leaning against the door with his arms crossed.
Amy: Y/n!
Sonic: Y/n, this can't be real.
Y/n: If it wasn't, I wouldn't have came here to assassinate you.
Amy stepped in front of Sonic.
Amy: You'll kill Sonic over my cold, dead body!
Y/n: I'll take you up on that offer.
Amy: You go on, Sonic. I'll hold him off the best I can.
Sonic: Are you sure?
Amy: Just go!
Sonic nodded and ran off.
Y/n: It seems my Chao warriors weren't enough to beat you after all.
Amy: (Thinking: I got cut a few times by Blade. Hit a bunch by Guardian's water gun. And I've almost completely lost the hearing in my left ear. I've gotta be careful.)
An alarm went off and is was so loud, Chris could hear it all the way outside.
Chris: Now what?
He remembered what Mr. Tanaka said to him a few minutes ago.
Mr. Tanaka: It is too dangerous. You stay here, and I will find Sonic.
Chris: Sorry, Mr. Tanaka. I can't stay behind if Sonic's in danger.
Back inside.
Y/n and Amy were fighting still, but none of them had even scratched each other.
Y/n: You're better than I thought, Rose.
Amy: You're not too bad yourself, but I'm going to meet up with Sonic after this.
Y/n: Sorry to tell you this, but you can't win no matter how hard you try. There are two different types of fighters. Long range and short range fighters. You're a short range fighter, meaning you have to get close to me to actually be considered a threat.
Amy: That might be true, but you're also a short range fighter, meaning you can't hurt me as long as I stay a safe distance away from you.
Y/n smirked.
Amy: What's with that smirk.
Y/n: You're right. If I was a short range fighter, that strategy would work.
Amy: Huh? What do you mean? You are a short range fighter. With your blades and-
Y/n: My lightning.
Amy: What?
Y/n waved his arms in that circular motion and light blue lightning trailed behind his intex and middle finger and he shot the lightning at Amy who was shocked both literally and figuratively. She dropped to the ground, barely conscious.
Outside.
Sonic made his way outside where Tails and Mr. Tanaka were waiting for him.
Mr. Tanaka: I'm relieved to see you're safe, Sonic, and Mr. Chris will be, too.
Tails: Wait, where's Amy?
Sonic: She stayed behind to hold off Y/n so I could get away. I just hope she's okay.
Mr. Tanaka: Mr. Tails has filled me in on what just happened. I don't know how we'll inform Mr. Chris and Ms. Cream about this.
Tails: Yeah, this news will definitely break their hearts.
Y/n stepped out of the compound with Amy's limb body and threw her on the ground.
Tails/Sonic: Amy!
Y/n: Don't worry, she was lucky enough to move so I missed her vital spots.
They saw the big burn on Amy's dress which even affected her skin.
Tails: How could your blades do this kind of damage?
Y/n: Who said I used my blades? I never showed my full power when I was with guys. Plus, the good part about keeping this little bitch alive is that I'm now using her as an example of what will happen if you interfere with the Eggman Empire's plan.
Y/n ran back inside.
Sonic: You guys get moving with Amy. I still have to track down my lookalike and confront Y/n about all of this.
Inside.
Rouge now had the purple Chaos Emerald.
Rouge: Lovely!
A robot showed up in front of the entrance of the vault.
Rouge: Hello there! I hope you didn't come here to get my emeralds back.
A male voice came from the robot.
Male voice: Intruder located. Security units, proceed to level five. Prepare to attack!
The robot was about to make a move but it got split in half by a Chaos Whip made by Y/n and Chaos.
Rouge: Thanks for the safe, boo.
Y/n: Please, stop calling me that. How many emeralds do you have?
Rouge: Three, how much time do we have left?
Y/n: Five minutes and twelve seconds, that should be enough time to get out.
The door shut behind.
Y/n: What the hell?
Y/n slashed at the door but it only left a scratch on it.
Y/n: Damn, this must be the same kind of metal the Eggsterminator was made of.
Chaos: You mean that giant robot that you could only scratch even with a Chaos Emerald powered slash?
Y/n: Yep, that's the one.
Outside the compound.
Sonic saw Shadow go into the woods and followed him then cut him off.
Sonic: Shadow, this is it! I want answers! Who are you? And what are you up to?
Shadow: You'll find out.
Sonic: Did you brainwash Y/n into joining you?
Shadow: Oh, no. Y/n came to us out of his own freewill.
Shadow and Sonic started to fight, and it seemed kind of even.
Back inside.
Y/n was still slashing the door while Rouge helped by kicking it, but they only made small scratches and dents in the door.
Rouge: At this rate, we'll never make it out of here before the detonator goes off.
Y/n pulled out his Chaos Emerald.
Y/n: I'm going to see where that black Faker is. If he's at the rendezvous point, I'll come back for. If he's fighting that blue Faker, I'll stay and help him, but I'll leave you with Chaos.
Y/n took off his left bracelet and gave it to Rouge.
Y/n: If the timer reaches one minute, give Chaos an Emerald and he'll be able to bust you out. Please, try to be nice to her, Chaos. Chaos Control.
He disappeared and left Rouge and Chaos who looked at each other awkwardly.
Rouge: Hi.
Chaos: Hello.
With Mr. Tanaka.
He went back to the cliff where you left Chris.
Mr. Tanaka: Mr. Chris! Where are you?
He climbed up to Tails who was holding Amy over his shoulder.
Mr. Tanaka: He's gone! He must be on the island somewhere! I must go and find Mr. Chris. Fast!
He got back on the island and ran into the forest.
Mr. Tanaka: Mr. Chris!
In the forest.
Sonic and Shadow fell down as they made a tree tip over, but they got back up and kept fighting and started running until Y/n showed up and kicked Sonic into a tree.
Y/n: You couldn't handle this moron by yourself? And you call yourself the Ultimate Life Form.
Shadow: I wouldn't need to if you had done your job correctly, Faker.
Y/n: I was going to kill him, but his stupid friend got in the way.
Shadow: Excuses, excuses.
Y/n: Oh, you want to talk excuses. Well, what's your excuse for leaving our teammate in the compound to possibly explode and die in there?
Shadow: It's not like you're any better. You left her, too.
Y/n: Correction, I left her with someone who can help her if she needs it.
Back inside.
Chaos: So, I heard your a thief, how is it?
Rouge: It's actually kind of fun to see what kind of treasures you'll find. What about you? Got any hobbies?
Chaos: No, I mostly just stay with Y/n all day.
Back to them.
Y/n: Yet, here you are playing with some blue idiot.
Sonic ran at them but they avoided the attack.
Sonic: The same blue idiot you forgot about?
With Chris.
He was running through the forest.
Chris: Sonic!
He continued running.
With Rouge and Chaos.
Chaos: So, what kind of relationship do you have with my partner?
Rouge: Well, he was actually my partner for a bit.
Chaos: No wonder you're one of the few people he likes the most.
Rouge: Yeah, we even formed a team called "Team Chaos" together. We were suppose to find the Chaos Emeralds and the pieces of the Master Emerald you scattered.
Chaos: Yeah, that's my bad as they say.
Rouge: Well, it's good to have you on our side now.
With Eggman.
Eggman: Shadow, come in now! Shadow!
Shadow and Y/n were fighting Sonic who punched Shadow in the face.
Eggman: (Over radio: Shadow! Where are you? That detonator will go off any second! You have to get off the island now or you're going to be blown sky high! Do you read me?)
Sonic: Oh, no!
Eggman: (Over radio: I'm not waiting for you, Y/n, Chaos and Rouge any longer! You four are on your own!)
Sonic: I have to get everybody off the island!
Sonic ran off as both Shadow and Y/n saw Eggman fly above them and Chris saw them.
Chris: (Thinking: I found him! It's Sonic! And he's with Y/n!)
When he got closer, he saw it was actually Shadow.
Chris: (gasp) (Thinking: That's not Sonic!)
Shadow: (mumbling) Maria.
Y/n: What?
Shadow: Nothing, never mind.
Back with Rouge and Chaos.
Rouge: When I found three Emeralds, I thought this was my lucky day!
Chaos: Will you quit moping around? In a few short seconds, you will give me an Emerald and I'll brake us both out.
Y/n: (Over radio: Rouge, Chaos, this is Y/n. Come in.)
Rouge: We're here!
Shadow: (Over radio: Do you still have the Chaos Emeralds?)
Rouge: Of course I still have them!
Y/n: (Over radio: We'll be right there to pick you two and Emeralds up.)
Back with the hedgehogs.
Shadow started to contact Eggman.
Shadow: Dr Eggman, me and Y/n are going back in to pick up the Chaos Emeralds for you.
Y/n: We better hurry, we only have a minute left before that detonator goes off.
They pulled out their Emeralds and nodded at each other.
Shadow/Y/n: Chaos Control!
Their Emeralds glowed and Chris ran to them.
Chris: (Thinking: Shadow! He's the one they want! Now I can prove Sonic's innocent!)
Mr. Tanaka showed up.
Mr. Tanaka: Chris, wait!
Chris grabbed Shadow and he disappeared with Shadow and Y/n.
Mr. Tanaka: Chris? (sigh) He is gone!
He started to cry but Sonic picked him up and ran him somewhere.
In the vault.
Shadow, Y/n and Chris appeared in front of Rouge and Chaos.
Rouge: Oh! Shadow! Y/n!
Y/n noticed Chris.
Y/n: What are you doing here, Chris?
He then looked at the detonator timer.
Y/n: Son of a bitch! We only have ten seconds left!
Shadow: Let's go!
Rouge: Here!
She gave Y/n's bracelet and Chaos back and Shadow took the Chaos Emeralds she had and was about to activate Chaos Control.
Rouge: Wait, hold on, Shadow. You're not gonna leave this kid behind!
Shadow: It doesn't matter to me what happens to that boy.
Y/n: He should've had the common sense to stay out of our way.
Chris: Hold on! My friend Y/n there had to arrest my other friend 'cause of you. He's still here! We have to get him off the island! Y/n, say something!
Shadow: Y/n, do you know this boy?
Y/n: That was the past. Look Chris, I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm working with them.
Chris: Quit playing!
Y/n: I never play.
Chris: If that's true, then please! Will you help me? I have to rescue Sonic somehow! He would rescue you two if it was the other way around! You have to help him! Please!
In Chris, Shadow saw the image of a human girl Chris' age with long blonde hair that reached down to her neck, blue eyes, and blue long-sleeved dress, and a hair ribbon like Amy's escaped this girl's was blue.
Girl: Please, Shadow?
Shadow: (Thinking: Maria!)
Y/n and Shadow used Chaos Control and the bright light consumed everyone in the vault before the detonator went off and exploded the island. Fortunately, Sonic, Amy, Mr. Tanaka and Tails flew off in the X-Tornado and looked back at the island's remains.
Mr. Tanaka: Mr. Chris! Oh! Mr. Chris!
