"y/n! come on, girl! let's go dance!" one of your friends said to you.
you shook your head, "no way!" you exclaimed and climbed onto your car. "why would i?"
"you're never gonna get a boyfriend if all you do is sit on the sidelines. be adventurous for once in your life," she said to you. "i'm gonna go hang out with the guys," she said and handed you your drink.
you nodded and leaned against your hand while picking up your cup. you took a sip of soda while people partied and waited for some of the guys to finish racing.
and on cue, a black sports car pulled up in the parking garage as you finished your soda.
he won again, wow.
you watched as two other cars pulled into the garage and parked into parking spots. the three racers got out of their cars and congratulated the winner.
the night grew and everyone was having a blast. you stayed on top of your car, making sure one of your friends wasn't getting too drunk since she drove her car today.
"you seem lonely up there by yourself," you heard someone speak amidst the music and people partying.
you looked down and to your side. jaehyun stood there, leaning against the car next to yours.
"i'm doing alright. congrats on winning," you responded.
"thanks," he replied and held up a plastic cup to you with liquid inside of it. "there's no alcohol in this," he mentioned.
"oh, thank you," you replied. you took the drink and drank some of the juice.
"mind if i join you up there?" he asked.
"go ahead."
jaehyun put his cup on top of your car before getting on top of your car. he sat down next to you and picked up his drink.
"you know, you're the only one who congratulates me other than my friends," he mentioned.
"you won after all," you said to him. "you're always racing, so i feel like i should."
"that's sweet of you," he said to you. "do you race?" he asked you.
you shook your head, "no, some of my friends do. i've been with them and it honestly scares me too much."
"maybe your friends are just bad drivers. i don't think it's scary," jaehyun said and drank some of his drink, "you should come to the other parties. they're fun."
you laughed and drank some of your drink.
"what's so funny?" he asked.
"i only come to these to make sure my friends don't get drunk cause they usually drive their cars, and i only came here tonight because one of my friends needed a ride," you mentioned. "i'm not a party person."
"i can see that, considering you've been on top of your car the whole time we've been here," jaehyun replied and both of you laughed. then, he hopped down with his drink in his hands, "i'll go enjoy the party for you," he said, making you laugh.
"thanks," you replied and he started walking away.
jaehyun turned around and started walking backwards, "look at your cup," he said to you. you looked at the cup and saw a phone number written on it. then, you looked back at jaehyun. "call me later," he winked at you before joining the crowd.
you playfully scoffed and grinned. you took your phone out of your jacket pocket and put jaehyun's number into your contacts.
wow, i actually talked to him.
you smiled again and put your phone away. as you watched from afar, the crowd continued having a blast.

time had passed and your friends left. you decided it was time to go somewhere less energetic for the night and hopped down from being on top of your car.
you got into your car and started it up. people noticed that you were leaving and made a path for you. you acknowledged them and drove out of the parking garage.
for awhile, you just drove around the outskirts of the city before finding yourself on a road that had a clifftop. you parked your car before turning it off. you got out of your car and climbed on top of it just like before.
a sigh left your lips as you sat there. you took your phone out of your pocket and unlocked it. you went into your contacts and called jaehyun. you put your phone up to your ear while the phone rang.
after a few seconds, he picked up the phone, "calling me already?" he asked.
you smiled, "you told me to call you when it's later, remember? it's later now," you said to him.
"why'd you leave me alone here?" he asked.
"you said you'd enjoy the party for both of us, didn't you? there was no need for me to be there anymore," you said to him. "it doesn't sound like you're still there, did you leave, too?" you asked, not hearing anyone partying or any of the loud music in the background.
"yea, cause a certain somebody left," he replied. "there's a race tomorrow night and a party afterwards. you should come by," he suggested.
"the one at the old airstrip?" you asked him.
"mhm, and i'd like to see you when i win again," he responded.
you smiled, "well, i guess i can't leave somebody alone again."
"that would be nice," jaehyun mentioned.
"see you tomorrow, jaehyun," you said to him.
"see ya, y/n."
