Rosie's POV
Today I have a bestie day planned with Lisa after school. We haven't had one in forever and we used to do them all the time back in Australia. So we decided to have a bestie day and then Jennie and y/n are also going to have one today. The two of us talked about what we were going to do today and we decided on going to the arcade that's downtown. I went once with y/n months ago and it was really fun, so I'm super excited to go back with Lisa.
But that has to wait another half an hour because my head is resting on my girlfriend's shoulder in english class. I'm tuning out the teacher at this point because it's just the same shit we learn every year. Yet y/n is paying attention because english is her worst subject. She's taking notes and I'm just listening to her pencil move across the paper and her light breathing.
The bell soon rang and I gave y/n a parting kiss since she was going to find Jennie and hang out with her today. I found Lisa standing at the front entrance and we linked arms as we made our way over to her car.
"So, should we listen to our lovely throwback playlist, Rosie?" Lisa asked me. I connected my phone to her car and smirked as the familiar tune of 'Toxic' by Britney Spears started to play. We both sang our hearts out to the song and the others that followed, just having a blast with each other.
She soon pulled into the surprisingly packed parking lot of the arcade. She was also confused at all the people here since it was a little thing that not a lot of people came to. We both hopped out and I saw a sign saying that it was 50% off today because it was the arcades 50 year anniversary of being open.
"Damn, did we pick a good day of what!" Lisa shouted excitedly as we entered. The sounds of music filled my ears and the shouts of kids, teens, and adults alike. I smiled watching so many people enjoy themselves and give themselves a break from the real world.
"That we did Lisa. Now let's get our game on!" I told her as I fished out some money from my pocket to exchange it for some tokens. She did the same and we each got 20 tokens each since we got 2x more today.
"What game should we play first?" Lisa asked as we walked up and down the aisles of games. I saw that Centipede didn't have anyone playing it.
"How about Centipede?" I responded as I walked over to it.
"Fine by me! I'm gonna beat your score, you just watch!" I rolled my eyes at her and put a token in and got the game started. I was doing really good in the beginning, but then about 5 minutes went by and I died. My score was 3426, but the highest score was 89712, so I was just a little off. Lisa then put her token in and was concentrating completely, wanting to beat me and only me.
"Come on come on," she mumbled to herself as she was getting close to my score. It took her only a little longer go beat it and she just killed herself so she could brag about beating me in the game.
"HAHAHA YOU SUCK!" She shouted at me. I clamped my hand over her mouth because she was obnoxiously loud and people were turning their heads over to us.
"Shut the fuck up Lisa!" I hissed at her since she was drawing attention to us. I then felt my hand get wet and I realized this bitch just licked my hand, "Ew what the fuck Manoban?!"
"It's what you get, live with it." She said as she flipped her hair at me and walked away to another game. I huffed out in annoyance and followed behind her since she was picking the next game. She stopped in front of Tetris and I smirked to myself as I knew I would absolutely destroy her at this game since I used to play this just for fun.
"You're up first Long Legs." I said as I stood next to her.
"I know Chipmunk, so let me concentrate." She shot back as she put her token in and started to play. I was just watching her play with an amused smile on my face because she kept fucking up certain pieces. She finished with a score of 50k, which was really shit compared to a good player. I cracked my fingers and placed my token in the slot and started up the game. I watched the colored pieces fall into the places and I watched as I got Tetris after Tetris. I knew the high score was around 500k, so that was my goal.
"Woah," I heard Lisa say next to me.
"Shut up please." I told her getting annoyed at the sound of her voice since I was trying to focus. I saw in the reflection of the screen people stopping and watching me since I was past 450k right now. My pieces were getting higher and higher to the top and it was stressing me out, but I knew if I got the purple piece, my problems would be solved. And luck was on my side since it was the next piece and I was able to get past the 500k mark. I smiled to myself and decided to keep going until I died.
GAME OVER
The text flashed across the screen and I heard cheering from behind me, which caught me off guard. I looked at my score and saw it was 598k, the new high score on the machine. I thanked everyone for cheering for me.
"That's my best friend right there!" Lisa said happily as she hugged me. I laughed at her antics and she told I should take a picture of my high score and show it to y/n later. I did just that and we continued on through the arcade.
We played Pac-Man, Galaga, Pong, Space Invaders, Frogger, Street Fighter, and more of the classics. But the final game we decided to play was Dance Dance Revolution. It was our last game since it requires the most physical exertion and it would be the most tiring. And since Lisa danced, this was going to be interesting. A dancer against someone who could just get a simple rhythm down with her body.
"Let's do this shit Rosie!" Lisa said as she dragged me over to it and we both put our last tokens in the machine. Lisa scrolled through the songs quickly in order to find a good one to dance to. She stopped on 'Bad Romance' by Lady Gaga. I saw her turn around with a wide grin and I felt myself grinning right along with her as she got into position and hit play.
Ya know how Lisa is a dancer? Yeah, she's absolutely shit at the game. She kept holding onto the bar behind us and like was completely off balance the whole time. I was dying of laughter the whole time watching my best friend struggle with the game. I was able to beat her on all 3 songs that we played.
"This shit is stupid, it's not even really dancing." Lisa complained.
"You just are shit at the game, simple as that." I told her as we exited the arcade and walked down to the pizzeria down the street. We sat down and talked about anything and everything, eating our large pepperoni pizza along with each story.
"So what are you going to do for the one year anniversary with y/n this upcoming month?" Lisa asked me as she took a bite of pizza.
"Well, our anniversary is April 12th which is a Friday and we don't have that school day off since it's a teacher work day. I already told y/n that I'm going to be the one planning it and she was fine with that idea. And I'm not spoiling shit to you because you have a loud mouth and you'll tell everyone that exists on the planet."
"Boo, you suck! Just tell me!"
"Nope, but we are going somewhere and I'll be having my license by then." I said confidently. I heard Lisa gasp,
"What?! You've been doing your in-cars finally?" She asked amazed. I nodded my head,
"Yup, finally gotten over that fear of driving with an old person."
"Sweet! So how many more do you have?"
"I have one more and it's on the 18th, so I can do my driver's test either late March or early April."
"My best friend is going to get her license!" Lisa said happily as she squeezed my hand.
"I know, I'm so excited! I know I'm shit at go-karts, but I am a good driver, trust me."
"Ooo, you are really shit at go-karts. I know you'll pass your test when the time comes."
"Thanks Lisa." I said sincerely. She's been my best friend since like the dawn of time and I'm so lucky to have her.
"No problem Rosie."

Lisa dropped me off at my house a few minutes ago and I wanted y/n to come over and tell me about her day with Jennie. And I could also tell her about my day with Lisa. She texted me back saying she was on her way and I just waited in my bedroom for my girlfriend to arrive. I heard a car pull into the driveway and looked out my window to see her car. I smiled and ran down the stairs and just as my feet hit the floor, I heard y/n knock on the door. I walked over to the front door and opened it to see y/n with face paint on.
"Uh, what?" I blurted out, pointing at her face which had a tiny Shrek and Fiona painted on each cheek.
"Oh I forgot it was still painted. Um, I'll tell you upstairs." She said as she walked passed me towards my room. I followed behind her curiously and walked in to see her spinning mindlessly on my desk chair.
"So, why's your face fucked up?" I stated. She laughed at my use of vocabulary.
"Well, Jennie told me the the movie theater was having a 4D experience with Shrek 2, aka the greatest sequel of all time, so we went and did it. Then afterwards, there was a face paint artist doing designs and I got Shrek and Fiona on my face. Do you like them?"
"That makes sense," I told her as I grabbed her face to turn it from right to left so I could get a good look at both painting, "and yeah, they both are super cool."
"So what did you and Lisa do today?" She asked me as she leaned back on my chair and stretched her arms up, causing her shirt to rise up a bit. My eyes were drawn to the skin immediately and I didn't even care. I heard y/n chuckle at me, "My eyes are up here, love."
"Yeah, and your hot body is down here." I said pointing to her stomach. She lowered her arms down and her shirt went back down, making me frown.
"Tell me about your day, love." She insisted.
"Fine," I sighed out dramatically, "Lisa and I decided to go to the arcade downtown and it was 50% off since it was the 50 year anniversary of its opening. We played a bunch of games and I actually got the high score in Tetris which was fun." I pulled my phone out to show her the picture of my score.
"Wow, look at you. I'm proud of you love." She kissed my forehead and I continued,
"Lisa then insisted we play Dance Dance Revolution and she was absolutely shit at it which is hilarious because she's the dancer. She kept a holding the bar and she looked like a giraffe that was just born; it was pathetic. Needless to say, I won all three rounds against her and she was mad. Then we just went and got pizza afterwards." I finished.
"Sounds like you had an eventful day with Lisa. I'm glad you enjoyed it."
"I'm happy we got to hang out again, just the two of us."
"We should do this more often huh." Y/n said.
"Yeah, it'd be fun."
"I'm gonna wash this off so it doesn't irritate my skin," y/n announced as she stood up from the chair and made her way over to my bathroom. I was able to stop her because I wanted to get some good pictures of them before they were gone. She posed for some pictures and then finally washed them off.
I waited for her to come back so we could go to bed together. She came out of the bathroom a few minutes later and she smiled over at me as she walked over to my closet and grabbed her pajamas. I just watched as she got changed and then she told me to get changed. I rolled my eyes at her and I just threw off my shirt and pants and called it good enough.
"Are you just gonna sleep like that?" She asked me with an eyebrow raised.
"Yeah, got a problem with it?" I challenged her.
"Nope," she said with a smile as she crawled into bed with me. She captured me in her arms and I laughed as she tickled my sides. I buried my face in her neck as I laughed and begged her to stop, which she actually did. I then lifted my head up to meet her eyes and I leaned in for a kiss. Our lips moved in sync with each other and I brought my hand up to cup her cheek. Her hands traveled down my body to my ass and she squeezed it teasingly, resulting in me moaning lightly into her mouth.
"Maybe you should sleep like this more often." She mumbled on my lips. I smiled into our kiss again and I also felt her do the same. I pulled back to look at her lips and flushed face from making out.
"I love you." I said looking into her eyes. They softened and sparkled,
"I love you too."
