Kai PoV
He was shocked when his assistant Chorong told him that a Mrs Krystal came to the office to meet him without appointment. Not wanting to make any scene he asked Chorong to invite Krystal in.
"Why are you here Krystal?" He asked as soon as Park Chorong closes the door to his office. Krystal got near to him and answered shortly.
"I miss you"
"It's been a year. And you are a married woman now. Stop with your nonsense Krystal." Kai can see that Krystal wasn't happy with his words and got closer to him.
"Kim Kai, don't you miss me? We love each other so much. I want us back." Krystal have placed her hands on his chest as she spoke the words.
Kai stare at her beautiful face and was relieved when he find that he have no feelings for Krystal anymore. No love or hate just nothing.Pulling her hands of his chest, he distanced himself from her and spoke softly.
"You left me to marry a man twice your age because he offered you more wealth. What is there to miss Krystal? Go back to your husband."
"But I love you and you love me too. I'm not happy Kai." Krystal stare at him with tears in her eyes. Kai laughed at her ridiculous reasoning.
"I thought you said his wealth will make you happy. And for your information I don't love you anymore. There's someone else that I love."
Krystal face change when she heard him spoke about having someone else. She walk towards Kai and hug him tight.
"No. You loved me. I know you have no one after me. Kai don't lie. We can make us happen again."
"Krystal please behave. Us is over." Kai hold her arms and pushes Krystal away from him.
There was a light knock on the door before Park Chorong opened the door.
"Sorry to disturb you Mr Kim. I need to head home first. There is a family emergency."
Kai glanced at his wall clock and realised it's already over office hours and stare at his assistant worried face before allowing her to leave for home.
Park Chorong closed the door as Kai turned to speak to Krystal in a firmer tones.
"We are over. Please leave my office and I hope you can find your happiness." He turned and arranged his papers before putting it in his briefcase along with his laptop. Krystal stomped her feet and walked out of his office.
He was walking out when he saw Krystal waiting for him in front of the floor's main door. Sighing he walks passed Krystal ignoring her, when Krystal suddenly linked her hands in his arms and pushes the door opened.
Kai wasn't aware that Naeun was standing outside the door. The first thing he saw was her crestfallen face before she got a hold of her emotions. And like the fool he is he asked her why she was there.
He watched her back dumbfounded before getting a hold of himself and turned to glare at Krystal.
"You are nothing in my life. Don't ever come near me ever again."
Leaving Krystal and Choi Aera to stare at him clearly astounded by his outburst. Kai went after Naeun who have gotten inside the elevator. Cursing, Kai punches the down button in exasperation before another elevator door opens up and he got in it.
Kai searches the lobby for Naeun but she was nowhere to be seen. Walking to the security personnel, he questioned them if they have seen her. One of the man told him that she left with Miss Park just a few minutes before he came down. Mumbling curses to himself, he searched his pockets for his cellphone and call Naeun. When she didn't answer his calls he press the screen looking for Park Chorong numbers and dialled it right away.
"Rong noona, do you know where Naeun went?" He asked as soon as he heard Chorong soft hello.
"She's driving now. I'm with her Sir."
"Noona can you tell me where you are heading to?" He heard Chorong asking Naeun where she is driving to but couldn't hear Naeun's answer.
"Mr Kim, Miss Naeun asked me to tell you not to worry and she will call you later. I have to go Sir."
Kai stare at his cellphone long after the line ended. Walking towards his car with heavy footsteps he thought of Naeun.
Son Naeun PoV
She was glad Chorong went in the elevator downstairs with her. The older woman pat her back silently, clearly sympathetic towards her. Her mind was in shambles before she turned and asked Chorong for help.
"How may I help miss?" Chorong smile as they walked out of the elevator.
"Can I call you Eonnie?" Naeun smile even if the smile didn't reach her eyes.
"Of course you can but Miss I need to take the subway and pick up my son from the nursery. You are welcome to come with me if you like." Chorong can sense that Naeun need someone to talk to and felt pity towards the young woman.
"I have my car if you don't mind me driving you to pick up your son. I don't want to be alone now." Naeun stuttered the last bit, loosing her confidence.
Chorong gave Naeun a comforting smile before asking where she parked her car.
They were on their way when Kai called Naeun's cellphone but she ignored it. The silence was temporary when Chorong cellphone rang next.
Lifting to show the name on the screen to the younger woman, Chorong smile knowingly when Naeun softly told her to go ahead and answer the call.
"Are you okay miss?" Chorong asked when they stopped at a red light.
"Eonnie can you call me Naeun instead of miss? It sounds so weird."Naeun chuckled and turned to Park Chorong.
"And yes I'm fine." Naeun added. Chorong nodded and didn't ask more.
Park Chorong pulled the seatbelt for her son after picking up Ha-Jun from the nursery. She closes the car's door after making sure her son is safe and comfortable in the back seat before taking a seat next to Naeun again.
"Hi Jun, you met me the other day at the park. Remember?" Naeun spoke trying to start a conversation with the boy.
"No. But auntie is pretty." Ha-Jun smile and complimented Naeun. Naeun chuckles and starts driving again after Chorong gave her home address to Naeun.
"Naeun-ah, welcome to Eonnie's house. I will cook some dinner for us, you can sit here and accompany Jun." Chorong spoke to Naeun, her motherly instinct to feed everyone around her taking over.
"Do you need help Eonnie?" Naeun felt comfortable with Chorong and couldn't believe it herself.
"It's okay Naeun-ah. Just stay with Jun." Chorong left Naeun with Ha-Jun in the living room and went to the kitchen.
Naeun laughed and played a few games with Ha-Jun forgetting about her troubles temporarily. Jun appears to be smart for his age and stole Naeun's heart. They had a simple dinner and chatted about general things before Chorong asked Naeun to wait for her while she went to her room with Ha-Jun for his bath.
Ha-Jun was done with his bath when the doorbell rang, Chorong hurriedly brought Ha-Jun and a small bag pack to open the door. Naeun kept quiet and watch Chorong gave instructions to someone who was waiting outside the door. The person was there to pick up Ha-Jun.
"Who was that Eonnie?" Naeun asked when Chorong took a seat in front of her.
"Jun's dad assistant. I promised Jun's dad that Jun could spend the night with him."
Naeun nodded and didn't ask more.
"Do you want to drink? I have soju and beers." Chorong offered. Naeun smile and shook her head.
"You drink if you want to Eonnie. I can't drink even if I want to. Jeez really wish I could."
"Naeun-ah, I don't want to pry but you can talk to me if you want" Chorong gave her most sincere smile to Naeun really wanting to help.
"I'm pregnant Eonnie. Our wedding has been planned. But after today, I don't think I could go through with it." Naeun looked down on her hands as she confessed to Chorong.
"Raising a child alone is not easy. There are days that would make you feel like giving up. I have been through that. Why don't you at least talk to him first before making decisions?"
Chorong took Naeun's hand and smile when Naeun eyes moved to gaze at her. She didn't have to ask who the baby's father is since it's apparent from the events of the day. Chorong knew from the look Naeun had earlier when she saw Krystal and Kai that Naeun is in love with Kai.
"Have you told him about your feelings?"
"But he doesn't love me Eonnie. He just sees me as a friend."
"Assumption in relationships is not healthy. Isn't it better to be sure?" Chorong squeezed Naeun's hand before letting it go with a smile.
"Eonnie can I talk to you often after this. I don't have friends to share my thoughts or troubles with. You are so kind that I feel comfortable with you." Naeun said with a smile.
"Of course you can. Beside I really like you too. You are so kind to a nobody like me and so sweet with Jun too."
"Eonnie you are not a nobody. You are the sweetest, kindest person ever and thank you for listening to me." Naeun was about to speak more when her cellphone rang.
"Answer it and resolve your problems with him. My boss is a kind and sweet man you know." Chorong said with a hint of teasing before standing up to go to the kitchen, giving Naeun some privacy.
"Nangni, where are you?" Kai sound worried and that made Naeun feel guilty to not have told him.
"I'm sorry for making you worry, want to meet up?" Naeun ask casually.
"Sure. Where?"
"I'll come over to your penthouse."
"Okay, drive carefully."
Naeun ended the call and stood up searching for Chorong. She found Chorong in the kitchen pouring a glass of soju.
"Eonnie, I've got to go."
Chorong walked towards Naeun and hug her after wishing Naeun good luck. Naeun asked for Chorong's cellphone number and dialled it asking Chorong to save her number.
"Thank you for today Eonnie." Naeun spoke while holding Chorong's hand in front of the door.
"It was nothing. And feel free to bother me with your stories and troubles anytime."
"You too Eonnie." Naeun said with sincerity and a wide smile on her face before waving goodbye to Chorong.
