I smiled at Lydia who had gotten discharged from the hospital. At least someone else with a brain was here to help. Malia and Anna were standing beside us. I had learned about how Tracy and Lucas's bodies were missing. Lucas was the kid who got killed at Cinema.

"You look like shit." I commented as I looked over to Anna.

"That's what happens when you're not a werewolf and drink." Anna said.

"Trust me, I'm aware." I nodded in agreement. "But, what else happened?"

Malia and Lydia shared a look before turning back to look at me. "What? What happened?" Liam had then suddenly walked down the hallway, his eyes only set on Anna. He stopped in front of the group and Anna rushed to stand behind me while I stood there in confusion.

"Anna, can we talk?" Liam asked.

Anna shook her head furiously.

"Anna." Liam pleaded.

"She doesn't want to talk to you, so back off." Malia hissed.

I stood my ground in front of Anna even though I had no idea what was going on.

"Anna, please." Liam pleaded, "I didn't know."

"Look, I don't know what the hell happened last night, but she doesn't want to talk to you, asshole, and she probably has a pretty good reason for that." I said annoyed.

"I didn't mean to hurt you, Ann." Liam pleaded, "I promise."

"Don't make us kick your ass, Liam." Malia snapped, "Kaelin could break your hand in a second."

"Anna." Liam pleaded, not giving up.

"Go, Liam." I hissed, "Before I make you." Liam sighed and glanced over at Anna before running off. I turned to the three of them in a demanding tone. "What the hell happened?"

The three girls looked at each other. "You know how Anna got drunk, right?" Malia started.

"Obviously." I said.

"Anna told Liam how she felt about him and how she hated how he treated her." Malia said.

"Oh shit." I remarked.

I couldn't believe that Anna actually did that. Now for sure, Liam will be chasing after her. He'll be searching for her forgiveness and Anna will just be avoiding him 24/7. This won't end well.

"Can we just talk about something else?" Anna groaned, "Like the book."

"Yeah, The Dread Doctors by T.R. McCammon... you read it?" I said. The book that was connected with the masked men who killed Tracy and Lucas.

"Yeah." Malia said, "I just didn't understand any of it."

"I spent the night at Stiles' place last night. He more like forced me to be there. We researched all night and we found nothing about the author. We think it's a pen name." I sighed. I opened my backpack before taking out some of the pages of the book. "I made my own copy."

"Hmmm." Lydia said as she picked up some of the pages. "In a small New England town, teenagers are taken in the night and buried alive. Days later they emerged transformed, wreaking havoc and spreading terror, commanded by an ancient order of parascientists know only as the Dread Doctors. Sounds vaguely familiar. How does it end?"

"It doesn't." Malia said, "This is supposed to be volume one!"

"Oh, let me guess... there is no volume two?" Anna said.

"I think we're living volume two!" Malia declared.

"Then maybe the real question is... is this a novel or someone's prediction?" Lydia said.

"Someone's prediction." I declared, "It has to be someone's prediction."

I started to run off, but the girls looked at me curiously. "What are you doing?" Anna asked.

"I'm going to go find Scott and Stiles." I said, "I found something."

I rushed towards Scott. "Scott, I figured it out!" I yelled, "I think I know who wrote it!"

"Kaelin." Scott said as he showed me that he was talking to Theo.

"Right." I said, "Sorry." I looked over to Theo shooting him an apologetic smile. I turned back to look at Scott. "Can we talk? It's important."

"Kaelin, he knows." Scott said.

"Knows what exactly?" I asked.

"Everything." Scott answered and I looked at him confused.

"Everything, everything?" I asked him.

"Yes, everything!" Scott said, "Starting from Peter, to Jackson, the Alpha Pack, the Deadpool, and everything that is happening right now!"

"You want me to read this?" Theo asked confused.

"Well, not yet, I'm still only on chapter one-" Scott started, but Theo cut him off.

"So you guys do this a lot, huh?" Theo asked the two of them.

"Do what?" Scott asked.

"Get involved." Theo said.

"Basically, yeah." I said.

"What about the author?" Theo asked, "If he knew all about these guys, shouldn't we be talking to him?"

"That's why I'm here." I said causing both of their attentions to turn to me. "Lydia said something that made me think of it."

"Think of what?" Scott asked.

"She asked if this was just a novel or someone's prediction." I informed them, "And we already know one person who can 'predict' the future because of his literal third eye."

"Valack?" Scott asked.

"Exactly what I thought." I opened my backpack before pulling out the acknowledgements page. "And look at this. 'For providing scientific perspective and invaluable insight... this book is dedicated to Dr. Gabriel Valack.'"

"What, do you know him?" Theo asked.

"Yeah." Scott said, "And I know where to find him!"

˜"*°•.˜"*°• o •°*"˜.•°*"˜

"No. No. No, and did I mention, no?" Stiles snapped at her and Scott nodded in agreement.

I told the two of them about going to go talk to Peter in Eichen House, while they were going to go talk to Valack. They were very hesitant about it.

"I can take care of myself." I retorted.

"Oh, we believe that! But not against him!" Stiles snapped.

"I'm the only one he'll talk to!" I defended, "He's been wanting to talk to me for months!"

"This is just going to give Peter what he wants." Scott said.

"What makes you think he knows anything anyways?" Stiles asked.

"He was Valack's cellmate." I said, "He's got to know something." Stiles and Scott didn't answer as they looked straight ahead, down the hallway. "What?" I asked. They didn't answer me as they continued to look at someone. I turned around to realize it was Isaac. I froze into place before realizing that he was walking towards us. I turned around swiftly before snapping at Stiles and Scott, "Well, now, I'm totally going." Stiles glared at him as he made his way to the three of us.

"Kaelin." Isaac spoke softly.

Stiles glared at him before he glanced over at me. "Lahey." I acknowledged, even though I felt like bursting into tears.

"Kaelin, can we talk?" Isaac asked calmly.

"We had all summer to do that, didn't we?" I said annoyed as I rolled my eyes, "And most of junior year." I scoffed at him. "I have nothing to say to you."

"Really?" Isaac smirked, "Because the 50 voicemails you left me says different."

"Look, you really have this John Murphy vibe going on here and I'm not interested." I snapped before walking away.

˜"*°•.˜"*°• o •°*"˜.•°*"˜

The group had made it to Eichen House. Everyone was there excluding Mason, Theo, Malia, and Liam. Anna was there specifically to avoid Liam and she wasn't going to allow me to talk to my father alone. Scott and Stiles were still pissed about the idea of me going to visit my father, but there's nothing they can really do to stop me... Unless they pull an Abby Griffin or even a Clarke Griffin. They better not do that, though. I'd never forgive them.

"Scott, you okay?" I asked worriedly as he looked like something was wrong.

"When the other Chimera," Scott said. We're calling them chimeras by the way. I kind of think of them as hybrids, you know, but Scott didn't understand that so we're calling them chimeras. A chimera is a single cell organism composed of cells with more than one distinct genotype. "Lucas... When he came after us, I heard Kira say something in Japanese."

"That doesn't sound too bad." Stiles replied.

"She doesn't know any Japanese!" Scott said.

"You don't know that." I piped in, "She could always be learning some Japanese from her mother."

"I also think I might have stopped her from killing Lucas?" Scott said, gaining our attentions.

Stiles and I glanced at each other. "Okay..." I said, "But, it was self defense, right?"

"Yeah." Stiles agreed, "He was trying to kill you."

"It was more than that... I mean, she nearly took off his head!" Scott exclaimed.

"Maybe she had no choice... there's gotta be a point where self defense is justified? Tracy killed her own father... and Lucas would've killed you." Stiles said. I looked at him confused. Was there something that he was hinting? Something that he was meaning to tell us?

"They're not the bad guys, they're the victims! We shouldn't be killing people we're supposed to save!" Scott exclaimed before leaving the two of them and walking over to the rest of the group.

Stiles was about to join the group before I grabbed his arm and stopped him. "Stiles, you know you can tell me anything, right?"

Stiles froze. "We don't have time for this, Kaelin."

"Stiles, you were there for me, so I'll be there for you." I said, "I'm not going to force you to tell me, Stiles. I'd never do that. But I just want you to know that I'm here, and I'll be on your side, always." Stiles said nothing as he made his way to the rest of the group, me following quickly behind.

We had gotten inside and the worker had demanded that we emptied our pockets. "Please empty your pockets onto the container." The worker at the desk said. He placed a box on the table for us to put our stuff in.

"We're here to see-" Scott started, but was cut off.

"Please empty your pockets in the container." The worker repeated. We all sighed before we emptied our pockets and placed our bags in the container(s).

The worker turned to Kira who was wearing her belt/katana. "Please remove your belt and place it on the counter."

"I kind of need the belt." Kira argued, "I-I mean... It's crucial to this outfit."

"Please remove your belt, which patients will attempt to take from you and use to strangle either themselves or others!" The worker ordered.

"R-Right... Got it." Kira said. Kira removed her belt reluctantly before placing it in the container.

The man then stepped away. Another worker walked in and directed us through a room, into a corridor, to a staircase, and then we continued to go down.

"I'll remind you." The man said, "I'm only doing this as a favor to Deaton... and I'm doing this against my better judgement!"

"Hey, what's the etiquette for talking to this guy?" Stiles said, "I mean, do you ever look at the eye?"

"I'm pretty sure it's safe to say to never look at the eye, Stiles." I sighed.

"I can feel it... The mountain ash." Scott said.

"You didn't think you were all going, were you?" The man said. He frowned as his eyes set on Anna. "You aren't going in there." The man then turned to me. "You'll be able to go. The mountain ash is everywhere, but it won't affect you that much as it will the others. You already have a difficulty for entrances, you won't struggle with this one." The man looked at Lydia and Stiles. "Valack's cell is the last one at the end of the hall!" The man then turned to me. "Your father is three doors down." I nodded even though I wasn't prepared. Lydia and Stiles continued to walk down the hallway behind the man, but Scott had gripped my arm and pulled me to the side.

"What, Scott?" I asked annoyed.

"I don't agree with you going in there alone." Scott hissed protectively.

"I can take care of myself, Scott. You know that." I said.

"I'm going with you." Scott said determined.

"You can't take on the mountain ash, Scott, but I can." I said, "I'll be fine. I promise."

"Fine." Scott sighed.

I took my arm out of his grip before making my way towards my father's room. I opened the door to see my father lying on his cot as he stared up at the ceiling.

"If it's you Valack, I wasn't joking. I'll kill this time." Peter hissed as he sat up. He turned around and his expression shifted when he saw me. "Kaelin." He looked at me with such despair and sorrow that I may have actually felt bad for him, but then I remembered about how he worked with the woman who burned my family alive.

"Peter." I stated angrily.

"You came." Peter said happily, "After all those months." There was a wall between us but he tried to stay as close to me as he could.

"I'm not here for chit chat." I snapped angrily at him causing him to flinch at my reaction.

"Then why are you here?" Peter said, "Did your friends send you? Are you here to kill me?"

"Believe it or not, my friends don't want me to be here." I said, "But I insisted." Peter looked over at me.

"What do you want, Kaelin?" Peter asked, "You're not here because I asked you to be."

"Look, Peter, you want to be friends?" I said, "Then give me something. Help me."

"I saved your life." Peter snapped.

"Because you put it in danger." I snapped at him. "And right now, I need your help. Even if I don't want it, I need it, because people's lives are in danger." Peter turned pale. "I don't see why you would care. The only person you care about is yourself."

"If that's what you believe, why are you even here?" Peter hissed.

"I'm here because I'm the only one that you'll talk to." I said, "Can we just get this over with? Every time I look at you, I remember Kate nearly killing me and my friends."

"What do you need to know?" Peter asked calmly as he stood close to the wall.

"I need to know everything you know about the Dread Doctors." I declared.

Peter flinched. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"I think you do." I said, "Valack was your cellmate here in Eichen House and he wrote about the Dread Doctors. He knows something which means you do too."

"Just because Valack was my cellmate, doesn't mean that we were best buds." Peter snapped.

"So you don't know anything?" I asked him curiously as I walked towards the wall that was full of mountain ash.

"Even if I did, I wouldn't tell you." Peter said softly.

"Why?" I asked him.

"Because I don't want you to go after them." Peter said.

I looked at him confused. "Why do you care so much? You worked with Kate. The woman who burnt our family alive." I snapped at him.

"I care because you are my daughter." Peter said, "And I don't want you to die."

"If you don't want me to die then tell me how to defeat them." I insisted.

"I've heard of something. Of someone, who was able to defeat them." Peter said, "She was a vampire and she was very close to defeating them long ago."

"You're telling me that I can take them?" I asked him.

"I'm telling you that you won't." Peter hissed at me.

"Peter, they're killing kids." I hissed at him.

"That's not my problem." Peter said.

"Dad, you don't have to worry about me." I said, "I can take them, especially with my pack."

"They're too strong." Peter said.

Peter looked over at me. "Promise me that you won't fight them."

"I can't promise you anything." I said.

Peter banged his fist against the wall. "Damn it, Kaelin." Peter looked over at her. "Don't you realize that they can kill you? They can torture you? And I can't stop them because I'm stuck in this cell!" Peter slammed his fist against the wall again causing me to flinch.

"I'm going to save my friends." I hissed at him, "I'm going to protect them." Peter slammed his fist against the wall again.

"Don't you understand?" Peter said, "They'll kill you! The last vampire that fought against them died!"

"I can't do what you want." I said, "I shouldn't feel sorry, but I do." I snapped over at him. "I know you don't care about me. You only care about yourself and I will not fall for any of your tricks. Not again."

A worker suddenly barged in before turning to look over at me.

"Ms. Hale, I think you should go now." The worker said and I nodded before I walked out.

Oh my god. Oh my god. I wiped a stray tear that rolled down my cheek.

I walked over to where the group was and they weren't there. I got confused and I walked outside to see them fighting off the Dread Doctors. Scott was running away with Kira in his arms, Anna following closely behind. This was bad. Stiles and Lydia ran after me as I made it to Scott, Kira, and Anna. Stiles and Lydia explained everything they figured out from Valack.

About how the Dread Doctors were not entirely human. They were once scientists who worshipped the supernatural. With what happened at the Nemeton, the sacrifice... It brought them back. The book helps us see them. The book triggers any suppressed or hidden memories. I told them what I figured out too... How one of the past vampires were close to defeating them, but lost. What the vampires did was kill them... That's why she was so close to defeating them. That's what he said, that's what my father said, but I don't believe him. I don't believe that I will have to kill to defeat the Dread Doctors. I have a pack and we can fight them. Together.

Stiles stood in my room, pacing back and forth. I sat on my bed annoyed.

"Okay, okay." Stiles said, "Just know that you are the only person that I'm trusting with this."

"What's new?" I asked sarcastically.

"I killed someone." Stiles declared.

I thought about this for a second before turning back to him.

"Where's the body?" I asked.

"What?" Stiles asked.

"We're a package deal." I said, "If you killed someone that means I aided and abetted."

"I just killed someone and you're asking where the body is?" Stiles said, tone full of disbelief.

"It was obviously self-defense." I shrugged, "What did he expect you to do? Give him flowers or something?" He looked at me shocked. "What I'm saying is it wasn't your fault. He would have killed your dad, you were just protecting him."

"How do you even know all of this?" Stiles gasped.

"Well, that's the only reason you'd kill someone right?" I shrugged, "If he attacked someone you love. I know that Scott and I can handle a human, so can Lydia, so he must have been threatening your dad."

"I have blood on my hands, Kae." Stiles said.

"No the nogitsune has blood on his hands." I correct.

"He used me Kaelin." Stiles snaps, "It was my fault."

"It wasn't your fault. We all believed that all of this shit was over. You know beating Jennifer was hard enough, but we had to deal with an Alpha pack? We took them on and we won Stiles. We all let down our guard, and the nogitsune saw it as a perfect opportunity to come and do all of his evil shit." I say, "It was never your fault. If it was anyone's fault it would be Jennifer's. She's the one who started the sacrifices. She's the one who forced you into being in that situation, having to take your dad's place."

"Kae-" Stiles started.

"Look, if someone comes to arrest you, I can just compel them away." I said, "I got your back. You're right, I do care that you murdered someone because it scars you for life and I don't want you to live with that." I looked at him with compassion. "But, what I do know is that you feel regret. You can come back from this, Stiles. Just like I did."

"Kae-" Stiles started, but he was cut off by a sob.

I rushed over to him and brought him into a hug. "Hey, it's okay. It'll be okay."

"I love you, Kae." Stiles whispered.

"I love you too, Sti!" I said softly.

I have to be here for him. I have to be.

"Till the end, right?" I said smiling.

THIRD PERSON P.O.V

Anna let out a sigh as she turned off the television and walked back upstairs to her room. Her father wasn't here since he was looking up what the Dread Doctors and the chimeras were, so she was home alone. Anna swung her bedroom door open to gasp and screech at Liam who was standing there mysteriously.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Anna snapped at him, "Get out. Now."

"Anna, can we talk?" Liam asked softly.

"No, we can't." Anna snapped, "Now, get out now before I get my taser."

"You really think a taser would work on me?" Liam smirked.

"Maybe not, but I do have some pepper spray." Anna threatened.

"Ann, look I never meant to hurt you... I just-" Liam started.

"You just wanted to make me jealous." Anna said, "Trust me, I know."

Liam looked at her with such love and despair. He loved her, really he did, but he didn't mean for it to turn out like this.

"I didn't mean for it to be like this." Liam said.

"You should've thought about it." Anna said, "And I'm not dumb, Liam. I know if you want me to be jealous."

"Ann." Liam said.

"Just, go." Anna snapped, "I don't want to talk to you."

Liam stepped forward. "Then we won't talk."

Anna stood there in shock. Liam smashed his lips against hers and sparks. That's what it felt like. It felt like sparks erupted in their bodies. Anna kissed him back. Liam gripped her back before moving his hand down to her butt. Anna released out of the kiss.

"Anna, would you like to be my girlfriend?" Liam asked her.

"Yes." Anna smiled, "Yes I would."

Liam beamed at her before pulling her into another kiss.
