"Everyone into the great hall immediately" Snape's voice drawled from the entrance of the common room as I looked up from my book confused
"Now" he added in a more forceful tone as I got to my feet and went to my dorm
"Ditch your shit and come with me" I told Daphne as I walked back up the stairs before heading to the boys dorm
"We're all going to the hall" I told the four of them before leaving with the her at my side
"Where's Pansy?" She asked turning to me as I glanced at her, slightly confused while we left the common room
"I don't know, last time I saw her was at dinner and that was after dropping off what she had bought in Hogsmeade" I said before turning around and stopping as the rest of our house filed around us and I looked at Draco and Blaise
"Either of you know where Pansy is?" I asked them and watched as they both shook their heads
"What's this all about anyway?" Draco asked as I shrugged and the four of us walked together and towards the hall where the whole school was gathered and sleeping bags were scattered about the hall
"Looks like we're spending the night in here"
"Excellent" I mumbled unhappily before walking with them towards a corner of the hall as they sat down and I looked around as my name was shouted
"I'll be back- keep me a sleeping bag please" I said laughing as I looked at the purple sleeping bags with amusement before going over to Hermione who was sitting with Holly and Ginny, near Ron and Harry who both shot me a look as I rolled my eyes at them
"What's happened?" I asked as I sat down beside them and she turned to me
"Sirius Black tried to get into our common room" she told me as my face dropped
"He slashed the portrait to pieces- did anything happen down your end?"
"No- how do you know it was him?"
"The fat lady said, your mum hasn't came in yet, people are going to start making assumptions if she doesn't show up soon"
"She was meant to be back by now, I'm sure that's what Holly said"
"I did, she was meant to be back half an hour ago"
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine- I'll see you all later, thank you for telling me" I said to her as she nodded and I stood up with a slight numb feeling as I started walking away but quickly turned back around before pausing and looking at Hermione before shaking my head slightly and turning back around as I started heading over to the others as I felt more eyes land on me, whispers already going around as I was tapped on my shoulder
"Oh hey, Cedric- is Oscar alright?"
"Yeah, he's with Evan and Tristan- Ali and Adam were around earlier and asked me to give you this" he said as he placed a small resealable bag into my hand
"They were going to get Nathan to give you them but couldn't find him, I don't think he's been allowed time off again yet. But I was next in line apparently, Adam said to take them in a couple of hours but that was awhile ago so I guess he means around about now, but you know better than me"
"Oh right okay, thank you Cedric"
"So what is it? Secret drugs?"
"Maybe..."
"You sounded so sincere about that" he scoffed as I shook my head, smiling slightly, looking down at the white tablets in the bag
"I'll talk to you later, Lia" he said before walking off as I gave him a small smile and put the small bag into my waistband before turning around and sitting back down with the others as I rolled out my sleeping bag
"So what's happened?" Pansy asked as I turned to her
"Where the hell were you?!"
"I was pulled aside by Flitwick- anyway will you answer my question?" She asked with a small laugh as I told them what Hermione had told me, finishing as a brief silence filled the air
"Who chose the purple?" I asked quietly as to break the tension as I felt eyes on me
"I don't want any of you to say anything about it so let's just drop the subject and move along" I told them quickly as none of them said anything for a moment or two as everyone around us continued to talk
"You've done your charms homework, haven't you?" Daphne asked as I nodded
"Yes I have, but no, you're not copying" I told her as she stared at me
"Why not?!"
"Because it's my work and I don't want you copying the extra eight inches I've wrote-"
"Eight?!"
"Yes, eight, that's what I said" I repeated with a slightly amused tone as she shook her head at me, and I watched as Blaise opened his mouth to say something but stopped as Percy's voice rang through the hall
"The lights are going out now! I want everyone into their sleeping bags and no more talking!" He shouted as I pulled my surprisingly squishy sleeping bag towards a wall as I sat under it and leant against the wall as the lights around the hall went out and the only source of light was that of the ghosts floating around and the ceiling which showed the stars scattered around outside. We stayed up together for an hour or so, watching as teachers came in and out as they each slowly started drifting off to sleep until it was only me and Draco up as he sat beside me and we spoke in lowered voices
"I think it's a bit extreme that our house has to be in here as well"
"I know- but they didn't want to risk it I suppose" I said to him quietly as I watched Percy tell people off at the other side of the hall for talking while the fat friar floated past, offering a small smile to the two of us before disappearing and he turned to me
"Are you ready for quidditch this year?" He asked with a smirk as he tried to change the subject as I gave a shrug and a weak smile
"I guess so, I mean who isn't ready to get caked in mud every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday?" I asked with quiet laughter as I looked up at the pumpkins that were floating above us as a smile crossed my face
"Point made- you usually get it worst though, I don't know how"
"I like to make a scene during practice"
"So that's what it is then is it?"
"Not always, sometimes I do just genuinely fall off my broom" I admitted as we both started laughing quietly and I flicked my wand
"Jellybean?"
"Why?-"
"It's safer if you don't ask" I told him laughing as he held his hand out and I tipped some into his hand
"Merlin's beard, stop! That's more than half the box!"
"I know, now stop complaining" I muttered as I glanced up and watched as Percy looked in our direction
"Oh good, here we go" I mumbled as I popped a jellybean in my mouth and answered his confused look by nodding in his direction as he turned around and watched as he made his way over
"This will be entertaining-"
"You two should be sleeping" Percy hissed at us as I glanced up at him before slowly eating another jellybean
"You shouldn't be eating either Amelia!"
"I got hungry-"
"What do you want, Weasley?"
"Watch your tone, Malfoy, I just so happen to be Head Boy and I'm meant to be making sure that you're all alright and that nobody gets in and out except teachers and ghosts"
"Yes, but, what if somebody needs to go to the bathroom? Are you going to let a first year piss themself?" I asked with a look as I raised my eyebrows as he stared at me
"Of course not! Now both of you get to sleep before I take away house points"
"You realise that the prefects in our house like us, right? You take points away they'll just give us double-"
"I'll get your mother, Amelia-"
"On you go, she's not going to bother me: seeing as I'm not talking to her anyway" I said after a scoff as he continued to stare at me as I took a bite out of a jellybean, practically spitting it out instantly as I cringed at the taste of it
"I'm positive that was dirt"
"I know they say ever flavour, but, I mean come on-"
"Blaise got an earwax flavour one in first year-" I said to Draco laughing as I cut myself off and watched as a piece of parchment floated in our direction and I caught it once it was in reach
"What's that?"
"Another note from another secret admirer I suppose- better be off now Percy, somebody is up and awake on the other side of the hall, you can go and tell them off" I said with a smile as he straightened up and walked in the direction of where the paper had came from as I started to unfold it
"He annoys me at times"
"He's just a disgr- what does it say?" He asked quickly as I stared at the words on it for a moment as he peered over my shoulder and read it as I forced a smile onto my face and balled it up before throwing it to the side
"Well isn't my self confidence just getting a boost this week?" I asked with a hollow laugh as I dropped the rest of the jellybeans back into the box
"Amelia, I'm-"
"Don't apologise"
"But-"
"Draco. I swear to Merlin-" I murmured as I cut myself off and raised my eyebrows at him, giving him a look as we looked at each other for a couple of moments before I turned away with a quiet sigh
"Are you-?"
"Yeah I'm alright, I should've knew what it would say before I even opened it" I said to him quietly as I cast him a side glance before sitting up properly and staring up at the ceiling
"You know, to an extent we could do our astronomy homework"
"...You realise Nott is staring at you, right?" He asked quietly, ignoring my comment as I turned my head towards him and gave him a confused look as he glanced at me before nodding behind me as I turned around and looked at Theodore who was sitting up against the wall as I offered him a smile before turning back to Draco
"Well that's not weird at all"
"No, not at all" he scoffed and looked at me as we stayed quiet for a split second before both of us started laughing
"Can you two be any fucking louder?" Blaise grumbled as we turned to him with smirks on our faces and watched as he opened his eyes the slightest bit to look at us
"Yes we can actually-"
"Well keep it down: some of us are trying to sleep"
"Oh I'm sorry, Blaise are we disrupting your beauty sleep?" I asked sniggering as he opened his eyes and stared at me as I let a grin grow on my face and I started gently nudging him with my feet
"You are actually, so let me sleep: I need it" he mumbled, pushing my feet away before rolling over as I burst out into a state of silent laughter
"I can't tell if that was vain or not"
"You could say it was- wizard chess?"
"Yeah, why not?" I asked laughing as I flicked my wand and mumbled as the board appeared in between us, already set up as I claimed the white side
"He's staring at you again" Draco mumbled quietly an hour or so later as I sat with a few of his chess pieces in a broken pile beside me as I looked up at him
"Seriously, Lia, he's just staring at you"
"Okay now that's freaking me out-"
"Freaking you out? I'm the one that can see him doing it. I don't think he's even blinking-"
"Miss Black" glancing up I looked at Snape who stood near to where we were as Draco turned around with a curious look
"A word" he added as I nodded and pushed myself up from where I was lying on the floor, slight cramp in my legs as I followed him just outside of the doors just as McGonagall passed
"Instead of actually speaking to you about this now: I'll speak to you tomorrow after classes and dinner-"
"Professor I have quidditch training after dinner tomorrow"
"Then straight after your training, my office. That will be all" he said before stepping aside and walking past me as I stood there confused for a moment before turning around
"Professor?"
"Yes, Miss Black?"
"Have you found him sir?"
"We've searched the whole castle and grounds and there has been no sight of him, everyone will be back to their common rooms by morning" he told me as I nodded and watched as he disappeared down the corridor as I scanned around and made sure it was empty before taking my wand out
"Accio Marauders Map" I hissed as I stood there quietly for a few moments, thinking it hadn't worked until a faint whooshing noise met my ears and I looked to my left and watched as a blank piece of parchment flew towards me as I caught it with a grin
"Oh how I love magic- I solemnly swear I'm up to only good" I mumbled, my wand tip against the front of the parchment as I made sure it was the right one, the same grin on my face as words started to appear across the front as if an invisible hand was going across the page
Messers Moony would like to know as to why Amelia hasn't used this map correctly even when she knows how to
Messers Wormtail would like to say that Amelia should be careful and consider what she's doing
Messers Padfoot would like to say that he has always been there even if it does seem like we're far a part
Messers Prongs would like to say that he is proud of you and is glad to see that your Marauder side is showing
Messers Ash would just like to say that she has never been prouder of anyone in her life and regrets all the bad things she has ever said
Messers Moony would like to say that Messers Padfoot should sort his grammar out
Messers Padfoot would like Messers Moony to go and shove his head back up his arse
Messers Prongs would like to remind his fellow Marauders that there is a child here
Messers Ash would like to add that Amelia can read this for as long as she likes and is far from a child

Folding the parchment in half I tucked it into my pocket with a smile as I shook my head before slipping back into the hall and over to my sleeping bag
"What was that all about?"
"Snape was just telling me that he's needing to speak to me tomorrow about something"
"He couldn't have of just done it now?"
"Apparently not" I said to him laughing as I moved another chess piece and he sat up while digging in his pocket
"You alright?"
"I forgot to give you it back" he mumbled before holding his hand out as I looked up confused as I held my hand out and he dropped something into my hand as I looked at it, smiling slightly before I clasped the lily necklace back around my neck
"Thank you, I forgot I'd given you it"
"I forgot to give you it back. How did you do it?"
"Do what?"
"You used the necklace to deflect the charms. You didn't need to use your wand at all"
"... this used to be my godmothers necklace, she was given it for Christmas from Nadia in their seventh year, I think. Nadia was given it back after they had been killed, but when she had given Lily it in seventh year, she had placed some sort of charm or enchantment on it along with her own magic. They were in the middle of the war, you see. And by the time I had been given it, I had tweaked it a little bit: adding my own spells and charms to it. And it eventually became a lot stronger than it originally was" I explained quietly, hesitant at first as I looked to him and he stared at me, blinking with a surprised look on his face
"Seriously?"
"Yeah. Don't tell the others, I'll get around to doing it myself"
"I won't tell them. Although they, and myself, want to know what happened after you were taken from class" he mumbled as I let out a laugh, looking at him amused as he looked at me with a smirk, the ceiling above us slowly started to get lighter in colour as we stayed up talking for the next few hours until those around us slowly started to stir
