Gaunt Estate was just as cold and uninviting as the last time she had visited, Emerald stepped confidently through the gates, up the path and into the foyer. It seemed quiet, almost too quiet

Emerald heard a pained yell from behind the double doors of the dining room, she smirked when those same doors burst open and a terrified Rudolphus Lestrange came tumbling through them, her grandfather following with a cold look on his face

"You're crazy" Lestrange spat "you, your double agent son and that wicked Granddaughter of yours" he wiped away the blood that had dripped down from his nose

"Oh rudie" Morfin mocked "you don't know just how bad to the bone our family really is" he said in a low voice ,his eyes met Emerald's and she sent him a questioning look.

"I told you I hate this lot" he looked amused, turning back towards Rudolphus, pulling out his wand
"Crucio" he said off handedly and watched the dark haired man writhe in pain. Emerald wasn't fazed by the unforgivable curse ,she knew just how evil Rudolphus could be so once again she turned a blind eye, nodding curtly to her Grandfather and striding towards the dining room ,throwing the doors open to reveal a hall full of Death Eaters, milling around and conversing idly.

Fearful looks came onto the occupant's faces as she walked around to face her father who looked at her angrily.

"Emerald, What are you doing home?" Magnus looked beyond annoyed

She shrugged "was bored ,wanted to watch some pureblood douchebags get hurt, Grandad invited me" she was so offhand and unbothered by it all ,it made the rest of the guests shiver in fear. As she looked around her eyes fell on a familiar pair of pale blue ones,

Draco looked awful, he had dark circles under his now red eyes, while he looked like he had put on a bit of muscle, there were stress lines etched in his forehead, making his handsome face look more pale and gaunt. His face fell when he saw the girl, heart thumping in his chest, he had tried to stay away from her ,he really had, even though he had broken his own heart in the process. He had been trying to protect her but the more he thought about it ,the more he realised that she could have and will protect herself which made him stupid.

He fought the urge to go over and followed her trained gaze past him and watched as her eyes settled on his classmate ,

Theo was stood in the middle of the room, next to his father, looking guiltily at one of his best friends, her eyes were blazing in fury as she walked up to him.

"Theo what the hell?!" She hissed

"Father asked me to come I didn't.. I mean it's not...." he sighed and pulled up his left sleeve subtly, making sure no one was watching

"See no Dark Mark , happy?" He placed a hand on her shoulder ,she sighed and nodded placing her hand over his for a moment
"they even try to recruit you ,you tell me straight away, okay?" She was angry , Theo nodded, he couldn't tell her that the Dark Lord had already set the wheels in motion for him to become just like Draco, he had heard about how she had cut him off once she realised he had become a Death Eater, it was cowardly in her eyes to be someone's servant and although he agreed with her ,she'd never talk to him again if she found out.

then he heard a voice call Emerald's name

"Ahh Emerald ,good to see you again" Lucius Malfoy was now striding up to the pair.

"I meant want I said" he mumbled "I'll always be there for you" she smiled warmly at his words "
see you later Em" Theo whispered before sauntering off to find his father

Emerald took a deep breath and turned to face the man ,he was tall and overpowering, his blonde hair tied up neatly in a black bow, she almost managed to hide the disgusted look on her face, she knew just what sort of a man Lucius Malfoy was and she didn't want to spend a second in his presence if she didn't have to. Draco stood at his side warily.
