"Cherry gumdrops" Emerald muttered to the large Phoenix statue and made her way up the spiral staircase, stepping boldly into the Headmasters office
"Professor Dumbledore" she called out impatiently, she had more important things to do than gossiping with the bearded man.
He peered his head over the balcony at her,greeting her, taking in her angry appearance before making his way down the steps, accompanied by The pink thing ,Professor Snape and Professor McGonnagal.
"I do apologise for pulling you out of classes like this" he spoke "but I'm afraid my fellow Professors have their concerns despite my assurance that I knew about the Serpents and the fact that they were perfectly under control" he stated looking at Umbitch
"Emerald would you give your consent to a veritaserum test?"
She smirked, knowing full well her family history surrounding the subject
"But of course Professor" it was her turn to smile sweetly her eyes meeting the Headteachers, anything to get her out of here.
Professor Snape produced a small vial from his pocket placing it in front of her
"When you are ready,Miss Gaunt, a mouthful will be plenty" he told her
She rolled her eyes and picked up the bottle, twirling it around her fingers before popping the cap off ,looking Snape dead in the eye as she proceeded to gulp down the contents of the bottle
The professors looked to her in surprise
"Yes well thank you Emerald, you didn't need to finish the bottle, you know?" McGonngal told her warily
"Just like the taste" she said boredly "you going to ask me anything interesting or not" she wanted to get back and investigate her latest revelation.
"Right well" the toad spoke "this is just to establish your intentions and clear up any misunderstandings that may have occurred, alright?" She told the girl
"Yeah alright"

"Emerald Gaunt"
"Age?"

"Is it true that you bought a Basilisk into the castle?" The pink woman asked narrowing her insect like eyes
"No I didn't"

"Was here when I got here" she shrugged "not my fault"
"And the headmaster knew about the situation?"
"Yes"
"What were you doing at the time the attack on Mr Magnus Gaunt was taking place?"

Snape widened his eyes ,while Minerva McGonagal choked on the breath she was taking and spluttered noisily.The toad looked ready to explode as Albus said nothing ,studying her carefully.
"What did you say?"
"You heard me"
Umbridge stuttered and looked around at her fellow teachers "would someone like to tell me what in Merlins name is happening here?" She looked indignantly at Albus "say something, Man"
"Which side" he asked her sending her an all knowing look ,questioning her carefully
"Maternal" was her short answer
The headmaster nodded "this young lady has the infamous Practitioner blood in her veins" he told the stunned teachers "immune to Veritaserum" he turned to Emerald "I assume you can produce claws at will too?" He hinted at her
She flicked her fingers out boredly, long hooked talons shooting out of her nail beds.The Professors were speechless
"Now if we're all done playing biology catch up,I've got to go and see a man about a serpent" she sent a cold look to the toad before making her way across the room to the stairs leaving the adults in silence.
"What the the name of Merlin's beard are we meant to do now?"

Emerald marched down the corridor, her whole body seething with anger at the adults, she was wasting time on answering whether or not she ,as an eleven year old, decided to place a couple of Baslisks in the castle then proceed to swan off to France for the next 6 years.

She had seen the fear flash across The toad's eyes as she had shown her true colours, Umbitch wouldn't last very long if she decided to use her little blood quills on her friends, she was sure of that.
She turned the corner smacking into another person who went flying backwards, just about managing to stay upright.
"Merlin's sake Theo ,are you bloody blind?!" she half yelled at him
He looked taken aback, seeing her cold and emotionless what perfectly normal, but he'd never seen her this angry before, it sent a shiver down his spine
"Sorry" he muttered "was in another world"
She sighed, although she was angry and confused about the situation she had found herself in ,she knew it wasn't his fault, she cared about the boy,She had never failed to notice he was always the one to make her laugh when she was having a rough day ,he had even brought her a croissant from breakfast the other day when she had overslept and missed the meal to avoid being late for class...
"No.." she sighed again "it's not your fault,I'm just having a bad day with this mornings antics..."she broke off
"I don't blame you" he looked at her ,squeezing her arm gently "I'm always here if you wanna talk"
She smiled gratefully at her friend,placing her hand over his "I appreciate that Theo, I really do, but I can win my own battles" she said determinedly
He looked at her,smiling "believe me,I know you can, just know that if you ever want someone in your corner while you win them ,you'll always have me ....and Zabini of course" he assured her
"I know" she looked at him appreciatively "wanna help me do some stalking?" She grinned for the first time that day
