It was noisy in The Three Broomsticks ,the usual Friday drinkers conversing over a steaming mug of Butter Beer after a long day at the Ministry ,the heavyweights singing along noisily to an old Weird Sisters track ,Madam Rosemerta busily clearing empty tables when all of a sudden the cold September air slammed the door wide open and in walked someone she never thought she'd see again.
The ragged old man walked stiffly up to the bar and raised to fingers to the visibly shaken bartender who was shaking so much the poor woman had to start making his drink all over again, he took it off her smiling an almost toothless maniacal grin and looked around over the top of his short glass while the room had gone totally silent, the only noise that could be heard was the wind rattling the window panes.
"Rosie darling" he called to the shops owner who looked like she had been frozen in place
" May I say how much you've grown ,couldn't even reach the beer taps last time I was in if I remember correctly" he laughed half-heartedly
" I was only a baby last time you were in here Morfin you must be thinking of my mother" Madam Rosmerta said confidently, some customers looking to her in shock at her calmness.
"Ahh yes your mother you look so similar where has the time gone" he said with an unpredictable look in his eye " what's new around these parts then , what have I missed?"
But before Madam Rosmerta could reply the door swung open again and in walked a man who bear some sort of resemblance to the scruffy man wearing a smart, expensive suit, shiny shoes and a serpent tie pin, Magnus Gaunt was a very well groomed man with his brown hair combed back and not a wrinkle in his perfectly fitted suit.Madam Rosmerta noticed a few of the female customers looking wistfully at him
"I do apologise for my fathers behaviour ma'am" he stated "He is quite aware of his bail conditions, Albus Dumbledore has personally stated that he must not find himself associating with any witch or wizard outside of his immediate household" he shot his father a look of warning "I shall remove him immediately" he sighed
"No problem Magnus" she waved it off "he was actually almost polite , could it be they taught him some manners in Azkaban?' The blonde woman joked.
"I jolly well hope so, I don't want him being a bad influence on our Em" he sighed again.
"Ahh yes dear Emerald, how is she doing at Beauxbatons?" Madam Rosmerta queried.
"We felt it wasn't quite right for her to be so far from home" he stated "so we're actually moving her to Hogwarts this year" he smiled fondly at mention of his daughter "she'll be going into her 6th year tomorrow"
"Oh how wonderful" the woman beamed "it will be lovely to see her again I bet she's just as beautiful as her mother" she chimed
" Yes although let's hope that's all she's got from her mother" he said darkly
"She's got her temper" Morfin smirked
Magnus shushed his father "lovely to see you again Madam Rosmerta, we will leave you to it, have a good evening, feel free to send me an owl next time HE disturbs your evening" he motioned to his father
"Of course Magnus anything for the future minister"
Magnus gave a curt nod before pushing his father out the door letting it slam behind him.
"Well" said the landlady "three Gaunts in the area" she looked worried
"I'm going to need a drink"

First chapter done! this was just to give a bit of backstory to a few of my characters the next chapters will have POV's in them😊
