I felt someone shaking me and screaming for me to wake.

"Boo." I said in an eerie tone as I sat up quickly. I laughed as Ethan backed away from me in relief. "Ethan it's ok. See I'm still alive. Say something, please."

He had his eyes closed, as if he were pondering his decision. We sat there on the floor for awhile in silence.

"Are... you... ok." He said slowly breaking the silence. He looked nervous and scared as he closed his eyes in fear of what might happen next.

"Ethan open your eyes. I'm fine." I said crawling over to him. He slowly opened his eyes exposing his bright golden eyes with a hint of blue in the middle. He smiled at me and sighed in relief.

"I guess the curse is broken." I said as Ethan gave me hug.

"Thank you." He whispered. I pulled away from his embrace in confusion.

"Thank you for what?"

"I don't know if you broke the curse somehow or if it even existed, but if it wasn't for you I wouldn't be talking to you right now." He said sincerely.

"How did you get this so call curse anyway." I asked curiously.

"Well when I was little, I wasn't showing signs of my natural abilities like fangs, blood thirst, or werewolf fur. When my mother realized this, she asked a dark fairy for help but she did more bad than good, hence the curse. After that she sent me to live with my grandfather, who lives on Zencov. She thought it would be better if I died in a peaceful and spiritual place."

"Die?" I interrupted.

"Yeah, when hybrids don't show signs of their natural abilities when they're young, there's a greater possibility of them not having powers or magical essence. And since they don't have magical essence they die a slow and painful death." Ethan averted his gaze when he said the last sentence. He looked as if he were in a trace. I must have been hard for him to bounce back from what he's been through.

I shook his foot and he blinked a couple times. He finally looked at me again and when he did I made a funny face that made him laugh. " What magical essence?" I asked

"It's um hard to explain. It's this thing that's in our blood that allows us to cast spells and turn into werewolves and stuff like that. Without it we're nothing. It's what makes us different from humans." He had gotten up and stretched out his hand to helped me off the floor.

"Maybe we should do this tomorrow. It's getting late and you already know what happens if Ms.Henry sees creatures up after curfew." Chills made their way down my spine, just thinking of what she would do. Ethan and I quickly packed our books in our book bags and ran back to the dorm in fear of Henry catching us.

The next morning, I walked into the cafeteria with Nalia excited for what was going to happen when we reached the table. When we arrived Ethan and Gem told us good morning and we said the same to them. Nalia nor Gem had noticed Ethan talking, so I decided to make it more noticeable.

"Ethan say something to Nalia." I told him telepathically. He nodded his head.

"Nalia, do you have potions homework, cause I didn't understand 5-10." He asked her.

"Yea hold on." Nalia unzipped her book bag and took out a folder. As she gave it to him she realized what had just happened. "Did you just talk...to me?"

"Yea." Ethan said.

Nalia and Gem faces were filled with shocked. I held my hand over my mouth trying to contain my laughter.

"If you talked to her and she's still alive then that means..."

"The curse is broken." Ethan said finishing Gem's sentence.

"How?" Gem asked. His face was still filled with shocked and astonishment.

Ethan turned toward me, eyes glistening and a smile spreaded across his face. "I don't know."

"This is fantastic. Now we can actually have conversations. I think I'm gonna cry." Nalia said as she fanned her face as if she were going to cry. We all laughed at her semi dramatic scene.

"Hey, to celebrate, what do you say we have a rematch, girls against men, in the ultimate battle of snow." Ethan insisted dramatically. I couldn't help but chuckle.

"You two must be in denial cause you're not men." I chuckled.

"Yea, like remember last week when you asked me to cut up your chicke..." Nalia was interrupted by Gem cover her mouth with his hand.

"Are you trying to ruin my reputation." Gem whispered. Nalia nodded her head as he took his hand off of her mouth.

"We'll see you later, by the lake." Ethan said in a deep voice trying to act like a man as he left the table with Gem.

"Idiots." I chuckled as I placed a peice of bacon in my mouth.

Ethan seemed so much more happier since the curse was broken. I couldn't help but wonder if I actually broke the curse of if there was a curse to begin with.
