Chapter 76 | one last task

A/n: ahhh only a few chapters left, it's always so crazy finishing books. Like I've finished some big project and never know what to do with my life after. Even tho I already have plans to finish other books ahh.

The last thing you had to do to close up the case completely.

Take the yagamis to face their son in the underworld.

Once this is over, you and L would go up to your new place in the highlands and everything will go back to normal. Well... normal being living as Kami now. This version of normal was new for the once human L.

"You don't have to do this. It's simply an option" you reassured.

"No, I want to see my son" Mr Yagami said.

It'd be a sight... when a soul is dammed to the underworld it keeps the appearance of how it died. He'd have to see Light with blood stained clothes in a ghostly form, disheveled and pathetic.

You looked toward everyone else, waiting for them to decide if they wanted to do this.

"I'm coming" Misa spoke up.

"Why? He hurt you. I didn't think you'd want anything to do with him" L replied.

"If there is a smidge of humanity left in him I want him to face his child and know that he'd never going to get to see it grow up"

Twisted, you liked it. One last fuck you to light.

"If you're going I'm going too, just to be safe" zephyr said.

Now it was just Sayu and her mother, both seemed conflicted.

"I'm going... just to say goodbye" Sayu said, a sad tone in her voice.

"I guess I should go too of everyone else is..." Mrs Yagami added.

Well, seems it's the whole Yagami clan. You bought your mirror up, tapping the glass. Hades had been on stand by all day for this signal. A window opened on the glass to the crystal ball that sat in the throne room of the underworld.

"Hades, can you open a rip directly to the underworld?" You asked.

"Alright, stand by for a moment" his voice spoke.

Not even a few seconds later a rip opened beside you, the other side being the gates to the underworld.

"Well, after you Mon Cher" you said, gesturing for L to step through first.

"Such chivalry, am I the woman of this relationship to you?" He joked, stepping though.

One by one everyone stepped through. The rip closing behind you. You pushed the gates open, hearing the howling of Cerberus in the distance altering hades someone had entered the underworld. You and L lead everyone through the winding cave like entrance up to the stair case that lead to hades place. He stood out the front waiting, he looked like he'd been working hard today, hair tied back and sleeves rolled up.

"Your favourite baby Kami are back" you said.

"And you bring the whole group I see" he replied.

"Indeed, honestly surprising" L added.

"Surprising indeed. And zephyr, good to see you safe again"

"Thank you, I apologise about not being able to deliver that message..." Zeph said.

"You got kidnapped, don't worry about it"

The Yagami family were all too busy looking around at the surroundings, things seemed to glow, everything was dark and ominous. It was pretty in a way, but unsettling.
