Watching Jennifer stomp her way down the stairs. Damn, this woman drives me insane! None of my other partners drove me so insane. Finishing changing out of my work clothes. Getting dressed in a Godsmack t-shirt and black sweatpants. I'm so angry with her right now. I told my head housekeeper not to make me dinner tonight.

Heading to my balcony so I could have a smoke. Lighting up the cigarette and take a few drags. I could feel the anger slowly vanishing. Instantly feeling like an asshole. Shouldn't have raised my voice at her. I should've told her the real reason. It's taking everything in me right now not to find her. I know she needs a little space right now to cool off. Which only made me frustrated.

Giving Nolan a call, I need some advice on what to do. Even though Zach and I were best friends. Nolan and I have always felt like brothers. I knew Nolan long before Zach came around. He has my back, and I have his. The reason I gave Zach the position. That Nolan has now in my company. It is because Nolan didn't have an interest in it. That was before I came back from London. Then he had all the interest. The thing about Nolan is he didn't come from a rich family like me. His family was low income and hard-working.

"Hey man, what's up?" Nolan answers the phone.

"Jennifer pissed off at me." Getting to the point.

"What did you do this time?"

"Lucia tried making friends with my wife today. I told Jennifer to stay away from her."

"I do not understand why she would be mad about that?... unless you... ah man, you didn't?"

"I couldn't tell her the big reason."

"Man, why haven't you told her yet? She needs to know why, for fuck's sake, you're married. You will be for at least two years, if not longer. Tell her before Lucia gets her nails. Into Jennifer so deep that she hurts her."

"It's complicated."

"It's not complicated. Just tell her."

"I'll think about it... She said I didn't care."

"Well, you're not exactly the easiest person. To talk to or be around. Let your walls down a little. Get to know her and show her you do care."

"I'll think about it..."

"Besides that, you guys good?"

"Yea, we're fine.."

"Good, because I have got some news. I'm seeing Jennifer's friend Cassidy." From that point on, Nolan told me about Cassidy and him.

After the phone call. Having another cigarette while leaning on the balcony, taking the last drag. Jennifer walks onto the balcony. Leans her backside against the balcony wall. We both stayed quiet for a few minutes. I could tell from her body language. She was a little scared to say something. I didn't want to open up completely to her. But Nolan is right. She needs to know who the enemy is.

"The reason I don't want you around Lucia. Is that she is my ex-fiance." Telling her she had a look of surprise meant. "Surprised?"

"No, I knew you had an ex-fiance. Your mother mention it to me. Before we were wedded. I didn't know who it was till now." She tells me calmly.

It was a relief she heard it from my mother, not from Nolan. I only told him what happened. Simply because it was his couch. I slept on until I got my own place to live. Nodding my head, it went quiet between us. Glancing back over at her. She was still wearing that blue dress.

"I really do like that dress on you. By the way, you look quite sexy in it." Complementing her.

"Really?" She blushes at my compliment. That damn blush. No matter how hard I try to resist it, it gets to me.
