Chapter Nineteen - Blackout

After watching some episodes of ( favorite show ) , you both decided to go to bed. You went into your parent's room to sleep, while Kageyama went into your bedroom. 

' I didn't think I would be sleeping in her bed. The whole room smells like her.. ' Kageyama said to himself as he walked around your room. Meanwhile you couldn't stop thinking about Kageyama. Your crush. Sleeping in your bed.  ' Is this even real? Don't be delusional y/n. He probably just thinks of you as a friend '  you sighed. 

As he was looking around your room, he noticed night lights. ' Such a baby ' he smiled to himself. Not long after, he decided to get some sleep. However, he couldn't ' Dammit, my heart's raising like crazy...how can I even sleep at this point? '  he was lost in his train of thoughts when the electricity suddenly went out.

A blackout, the one thing you hate most and the one thing that scares you the most. Your breathing started becoming heavy and your chest started hurting as memories of the past flows through your head. Milk ( your dog ) knowing what happens when a blackout happens, started barking at your door. 

* WOOF WOOF WOOF *

Hearing the barks, Kageyama came outside of his room. ' Why is Milk barking? Does he want to go to y/n ? Is he scared of the dark? ' Kageyama started petting Milk thinking that he was scared of the dark and also worried that he would wake you up, but he didn't stop barking. He knocked on your door. 

' I'm opening the door y/n '

As he opened the door, he found his eyes widened by the sight of you. You were hugging your knees with your arms on the floor. Tears streaming down your face. 

He rushed to your side 'What's wrong? What happened? Are you hurt? ' he said as you looked up. He cupped your face with his hands and wiped your tears away. 

' Dammit, I should've rushed to her as soon as the lights went out ' he thought to himself as he put his hand on the back of your head and pulled you close. At this point, kageyama didn't care about anything except you. He didn't care about his tsundere nature, just the fact that he wanted to make you stop crying. 

Your eyes widened as you felt Kageyama's arms around you. His warmth wrapping you and your face buried in his chest. You felt safe. After some time, you calmed down. Even till then, Kageyama hasn't let you go. He's still hugging you tightly and patting your head. 

Hearing you sniffled, he pulled away and looked at you. 

' Are you feeling better? ' he asked to which you nodded. 

' Want some water? I'll go get it '  he was about to get up but you grabbed his shirt. 

' Stay please, I don't want to be alone ' you said quietly but enough for Kageyama to hear you. 

' Why don't we go together then? ' hearing him, you looked up and nodded.  You slowly stood up, your eyesight blurry from crying. You felt an arm around your waist ' Here I'll be your support.'. You smiled ' Yeah..,thanks '. 

You both started walking slowly in the dark, kageyama's arm supporting you and your arm around his waist since you couldn't reach his shoulders. Although both of you were kinda blushing, you still didn't want to let go of each other. Thankfully, the dark covered the blushes on your cheeks. 

' Do you wanna come back to your room after this? ' kageyama asked ' I-i didn't mean anything by that, I just thought you would be more comfortable in your own room ' 

' Y-yeah I'd like that ' you replied. You both got to your room and sat down on the floor with your backs leaning on your bed. 

' Are you feeling better now? ' kageyama asked, his tone laced with worry.

' Yeah..I am ' 

Soon after silence filled up the room. ' Hey..y/n..I wasn't going to ask but what happened? ' his question brought you back to your senses. 

' Umm it's okay if you don't feel comfortable enough with me to tell me but I hope one day you'll tell me ' he added. Hearing that, you smiled as people usually tend to force another to open up even when one doesn't want to.

 ' I trust you kageyama..and I'll tell you ' you took a deep breath.

' My parents..aren't really my parents. I'm adopted. It was like this night when there were thunders and there was a blackout. My biological parents went out saying they'd come back. However, they didn't. I was left alone and then I figured out that I was abandoned. But my parents found me and they took care of me. I'm grateful for them. ' you explained.

You felt Kageyama reach for your hand, interlocking your fingers. ' I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm here with you, tell me if I can do anything to help' he said. You smiled and closed your eyes ' I guess I'll allow myself to enjoy this moment for now. I like you kageyama '. With those thoughts, you drifted off to sleep.

' I didn't know she had to go through that alone. I'm here for you y/n, and I want to be with you always ' he thought. Some time passed and kageyama felt something heavy leaning against his shoulder. It was your head. You somehow fell asleep on his shoulder while holding his hand. 

' She must've been tired ' he moved a stand of your hair behind your ears and closed his eyes. 

' See you tomorrow ' he said as he planted a soft kiss on your head.
