You arrived at school, sat down at your seat and started to bury yourself in lessons as there was an upcoming test first period. Beside you was a confused Kageyama staring at his book, not understanding a thing. He was trying so hard to understand what the context of the textbook was but since he couldn't, he gave up and put his head on the table. You giggled at the sight.
' I haven't seen you smiling or laughing much lately, is everything okay? ' he asked. His question surprised you.
' Yeah, I just...it's nothing important ' you decided to not tell him that your volleyball club has been leaving you out of a lot of things ever since that incident. Volleyball was no longer fun to you and you felt left out of your own club.

' It's okay, you can tell me about it if you want ' he smiled warmly at you. You found comfort in his sincerity and started to tell him about the incident and how you feel left out of the team, how volleyball was no longer something you love in the club and that even though it's not fun right now, you still wanted a connection to volleyball. Kageyama listened and listened without speaking a word, you felt thankful for him being your friend.
' Whatever happens y/n, I'm on your side ' he patted your head. You thanked him for listening to you and you both started the school day.
After school, the captain asked you and your teammates to gather around ' We're going to have a practice matches with the boys for this week' she announced.

After matching up pairs, you, kageyama, Hinata, Tanaka, Nishinoya and Daichi got into the same team for the rest of the week. You felt welcomed and happy for the first time since the incident.
' Y/n chan, Just spike okay? I'll protect the ball at any cost with my rolling thunders ' Nishinoya announced proudly.
' Noya- san, it is a good receive but the name...ppfftt ' laughed Tanaka. You joined in with the laughing and somehow it attracted the attention of your team members. You noticed their attention on you and started blushing a bit, ' Is my laugh weird? '
' Y/n chan is so cute! ' Both Nishinoya and Tanaka acted like they fainted. Hinata aggressively nodded again and again as in agreement. ' So they share the same braincells- ' you giggled. You secretly wished your girl's team was that way, and without noticing yourself, you frowned a bit.
' You shouldn't frown boke, it makes you ugly ' Kageyama slightly whispered. ' What does that mean ? and for the record, I'm not ugly ' you hissed at him playfully, shaking your head to bring your focus onto the game instead of your seatmate.
