Now to explain how we got into that shitfest.

It all started with two fed up kids and.. well.

Dinner.

Liana~

All of us are eating dinner in silence except for the boring vinyl that our father just loves to listen to whilst we eat.

Five suddenly stabs a knife into the table.

"Number Five?" Dad says.

"I have a question." Five retorts.

"Knowledge is an admirable goal, but you know the rules. No talking during meal times, you're interrupting Herr Carlson."

"I want to time travel." Five says pushing his plate away.

We've talked about it before and he seemed pretty set on it.

I doubt he'll take no for an answer

"No." Dad replies.

"But I'm ready. I've been practicing my spatial jumps, just like you said." Five says getting up and blinking beside Dad.

"See."

At this point I've stopped eating and I'm watching this all play out.

"A spatial jump is trivial when compared with the unknowns of time travel. One is like sliding along the ice, the other is akin to descending blindly into the depths of the freezing water and reappearing as an acorn." Dad states.

"Well I don't get it." Five says.

"Hence the reason you're not ready." Dad retorts.

"I'm not afraid." Five replies.

"Fear isn't the issue. The effects it might have on your body, even on your mind, are far too unpredictable. Now, I forbid you to talk about this anymore." Dad says sternly.

Five looks at me and motions to the door with his eyebrows and head.

I give him a shrug as I was completely fed up with our father too and I get up from my chair.

"Number Six." Dad says.

I swiftly walk out of the room with Five.

"Number Five! Number Six! You haven't been excused!" Dad says as we run out.

"Come back here!" I hear him yell.

We walk out the gates of the academy.

"Do you really want to come with me?" Five asks as we walk down the sidewalk.

"Sure, seems like it'll be fun." I say with a mischievous smile.

He smiles and grabs my hand jumping us through time.

I look around and everything looks about the same just brighter.

"Not ready, my ass." Five scoffs with a grin on his face
