Each light tap on the window draws Peter out of his deep sleep. Peter is pulled out of his dreams and flutters his eyes open to feel the faint sunlight beaming into his retinas. He pulls his small hands up and drags the back of his palm across his eyes, wiping away the goop. The taping only continues and this causes Peter's to force himself out of his bunkbed. His feet shuffle along the floor as he slowly walks to the window. His pale fingers wrap around the blue curtain and pull back a perfect space for his brown eyes to peek through.
"Ned?" Peter sighs out, voice still a little groggy. He pulls open the window still utterly confused on why his bestfriend was standing at his window at 5 in the morning.

Peter is taken aback by Ned's expression. Ned looked nervous and almost sad, like he was conflicted. Ned's usual bright smile was turned into a almost numb lip curl. Ned waves as Peter lifts himself out onto the fire escape ledge.

"Can we talk?" Ned can't even look Peter in the eyes, he only stares at the red railing. Peter just nods and lowers himself onto the floor, dangling his legs over the edge, watching the cars rush by. Ned seemed to sit farther away than usual, like he was uncomfortable with the proximity.

"Would you ever hate me, like really hate me. Leave me kind of hate me?" Ned forced out, his face focused on the city. Peter was shocked by the words, Why would Ned ever ask that? Peter turned back at the sunrise, peering at the beautiful sea of reds and yellow. It felt good on his skin, the warmth of the sun. He closed his eyes and listened to the buzz of early morning traffic and the strong scent of black coffee brewing. He opened his eyes again, looking down and his and Ned's swinging legs that hung over a busy city.

Peter turned to see Ned, someone who's always confident and happy look so....afraid. The words "would you ever hate me" floated around in his mind as he noticed the sun laying on Ned's face. It glowed on his broze cheeks and made his eyes golden, he looked like gold. The soft wind blew and his dark hair flew around in different directions. How his lips looked perfectly plump and soft, how everything looked lovely.

How could Peter hate him? Was that even possible, with everything Ned has to offer. From his goofy smile and heart of gold, to his eyes of honey and smile that lights up the room. Peter's stomach fluttered, his heart rate quickened. "Oh shit" Peter thought to himself while he tried to push away the suden feeling. "Oh shit, this can not be happening!"

"I don't think you could do anything that would push me away....maybe if you started on the Lego Millennium Falcon without me but other than that nothing." Peter smiled out trying to make light of the situation. Ned only let out a breathy laugh, his eyes still full of worry. Peter still couldn't stop himself from watching the sunrises colors dance across Ned's eyes. Peter couldn't stop finding cute little attributes on Ned's face.

Ned sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, something that made Peter's knees weak. Ned was worried and it made Peter worried but Peter couldn't help but absolutely panicked at his own emotions and what exactly Ned was going to say.

"Peter you promise to not freak out or tell anyone about what I'm gonna tell you." Ned held out his pinky with a stern glare. Peter gulped and wraped his pinky around his, feeling little lighting bolts run up his arms.

"I promise."

"I um, I like boys." Ned squeezes his eys shut and bites his lip like he's afraid to look at Peter's expression. Peter is shocked as corse but also feels a sense of warmth. Peter just puts on a smile and gently places his hand on Ned's. Ned slowly opens his eyes and looks shocked himself.

"That's cool and I'm gald you told me. I don't hate you at all." Peter whispered and Ned felt like a million pounds was lifted off his shoulders.

"I hope this doesn't change anything and I don't want you to feel werided out or anything." Ned started to ramble and Peter just rolled his eyes playfully.

"Doesn't change a thing, Ned I'm happy for you." Peter gave his signature dopey grin and pulled Ned into a large bear hug. Peter then remembered the real dilemma.
"I feel in love with my bestfriend."

Peter hoped this would change things, maybe that Ned would possibly, maybe, oh god hopefully like him. But Ned coming out is definitely not just a free invitation. Ned didn't just say that he liked Peter but just said he likes guys in general. But Peter couldn't help but feel like he had a chance, a new chance of love. So for now Peter will just enjoy watching Ned look genuinely happy as the sun rises onto the bustling city. Enjoy the peace before the hell of a storm of emotions Peter is bound to face.
