On Monday, Peter woke up early. Whenever he was nervous in the morning or the night before, he always woke up early.

He climbed out of bed, nearly collapsing, his legs shaking. He stumbled down to the kitchen, where May sat, sipping coffee and looking like she was just hit by a truck.

"G'morning, honey." She greeted groggily, her eyes still closed. Peter on the other hand, was wide awake.

"Morning aunt May." He said. He collapsed into a chair. May shoves the cereal and milk towards him, which he happily took. As he munched on the cereal, he let his mind wander. What would happen to him once he'd get to school? Would people accept him? What about Ned? Or MJ? Would he lose them as friends? Or Mr. Stark? And what about the Avengers?

The more of those thoughts he thought, the more his anxiety built up inside. He nervously jiggled his leg.

"Pete, stop. You're making me nervous." May interrupted his train of thought. He mumbled a "sorry" and got back to eating his cereal.

Once done, he changed into jeans, a hoodie, and a flannel (and of course one of his science pun shirts, duh). He swung his backpack into his shoulder and left to school.

"Bye, May! Love you!" He yelled from the door.

"Love you too!"

He shut the door, and speed walked to school. As he stood in front of the large and intimidating building, he held his bag's straps tighter, taking in a big breath to calm himself. He exhaled and opened the door.

This is it.

He scanned the crowd for a glimpse of one of his friends.

He pushed his way through to his locker, where Ned waited. "H-hey man." He stuttered.

Ned looked up from his phone, then gasped once he saw the taller boy. "Amber! What happened? I m-mean, you look great, b-but what happened?"

Peter averted his eyes, scratching his cheek nervously. "Y-yeah, well..." He drawled our the well. "Let me reintroduce myself." He cleared his throat and held out his hand. "Hello, my name is Peter Parker. It's nice to meet you."

Ned stared up at him for a solid minute, processing the information- which by the way, made Peter nervous- then gave him a wide grin and shook his hand.

"Hi there! I'm Ned Leeds, at your service!" He saluted, making Peter giggle at the dorky gesture. That made all the awkward tension to dissipate.

"Cmon you big dork, let's head to class." He nudged Ned's shoulder, motioning to follow.

First class, chemistry. Whoop de doo.

He stopped right in front of the door. Ned halted and looked back.

"You good, man?"

Peter kept quiet, staring straight at the door. He gulped.

"Don't worry," Ned patted his shoulder, "if they say anything mean, I have your back." Peter nodded and they both entered the room.

He walked straight to their teacher, whispering something in his ear. Mr. Harrington nods after Peter explained his situation, allowing him to stay standing for a while.

Peter stood next to the teacher, until all his classmates had arrived.

"Attention, everyone!" Mr. Harrington clapped his hands. "Amber here would like to announce something!"

The class quieter down, everyone staring intently at the nervous boy.

Peter opened his mouth to say something, but no sound came out. He looked at Ned, desperate for some help. Bad shot him a grin and two thumbs up.

Peter nervously scanned the crowd and tried again.

"Uh-um I-" he started twiddling his thumbs. "My name is Peter Parker! I'd appreciate it i-if you'd refer to me as a male now!" He stared intently at his thumbs, shuffling slightly in place.

"Thank you, Peter. You may now take a seat."

Peter made his way to his seat, hiding his face in his arms best he could.

"Hey," Ned poked his arm. Peter glanced up, "you did great." Peter shot him a grateful smile.

He could feel states at the back of his head. He didn't dare turn around, not wanting to face whoever was behind him.

A few hours later, the bell rang for lunch. Peter had been keeping close to Ned all day. He was surprised that he hadn't encountered Flash yet. He did sit in a few classes with him, but Flash hadn't made a single move on him.

"Oi, Peturd!" Speak of the devil.

"Heyyy Flash." His voice cracked.

"You know the drill, lunch money." Flash was surprisingly quiet now, considering he was pretty loud in class.

Peter sighed. No matter what gender, he'd always be Flash's favorite punching bag. He took out six dollars and handed them to the taller boy.

"That's all you've got?"

Peter nodded.

"Broke wimp." Flash grunted, then turned and left. Peter and Ned stared after him.

"Did- did that just happen?" Ned asked, perplexed.

"Uh huh."

"He didn't lay a finger on you!"

"I know. Weird. You'd think I'd be on the floor now."

They closed their hanging jaws and left towards the Mensa.

"Don't worry, I'll pay." Ned offered.

As they sat down at one of the tables, a certain someone sneaked up from behind them.

"'Sup losers." The two screeched. MJ chuckled at their reaction.

"So, heard your name's Peter now. How's that?" They sat down, taking a sip of their coffee.

"W-well I'm a guy now." Peter put it bluntly.

MJ nodded. "Cool." They checked their watch. "Shit! My class starts in two. I'll see you losers later!" They grabbed their belongings and jogged away, leaving the two boys to their meals.

At the end of the day, right before classes ended, Mr. Harrington stopped the students from leaving.

"I know you're all eager to leave as soon as possible, but I have something to hand out. Everyone come and get your permission slip for next weeks field trip. We'll be going to Stark Towers."

The class cheered. Except for Peter, who groaned into his palms.

"But! I won't be going along this year, as I have to attend a different field trip. Mrs. Wedburg will be chaperoning you instead."

The class groaned. Mrs. Wedburg was the most hated teacher in the school.

"I don't want to hear any complaining! You all get to go on this wonderful trip because our Decathlon team won this year. You've earned it. Now," he started handing out the slips, "all the information you need is on the papers. That's all." He finished handing out the papers. "Alright. Class dismissed!"

The students rushed out.

"Ned, what do I do?! Mr. Stark doesn't know about me yet, and I practically live there, so aside from my transition, they'll find every single way to embarrass me!" Peter hissed.

Ned laughed. "Don't worry! It'll be fine. They'll accept you; and I'm pretty sure it won't be that bad."

Peter gave him a look.

"Okay, maybe it will be bad. But they will accept you! I know that."

Peter groaned. "This'll be terrible." Ned patted his back sympathetically.
