Hell Hath No Fury

He was all Hell in front of you, his entire satanic horror could've made any human feeble and weak mind detangle with insanity, but you had been the exception to his appearances. The smoke was billowing as it stretched around his horned hooved feet, similar to the goat curved horns on his head – his silver hair was streaked with a strand black in the front, the locks tumbling over his regal chest.

Atop his head was a pinnacle of curled thorns that seemed to grow from his scalp, twisted iron thorns that were shaped into a crown. Royalty, the best of his kind and of this proposal.

He may have been seven-feet-tall compared to you, towering over you with all ashen and ember power, his swishing demon tail flicking back and forth through the thick black smoke in which he stood in the chalk pentagram with his large bat-like wings tucked behind his back; his many eyes on you with silent consideration... maybe interest.

"To what do I owe you this fine visit, my dear?" He bowed snidely in regard to you, his head peering up to meet you once more, all four black and golden eyes staring powerfully into your being. Do not waste his time, you reminded yourself, you know what happens if you do.

"I need help with something or someone." You began. The demon prince rolled his shoulders back, a sign that your words were the one things he enjoyed to hear; the delight for torment and destruction were his favourite activities to consume in. He gave an intrigued look towards you, piquing his interest.

"I'm listening."

"My boyfriend—ex, is causing me torment, threatening and ridiculing me, calling me names... I can't get away from him, and even if I ignore him, his fucking friends always know where to find me."

"Ah, the desperate ex, who resorts to violence to get his own back when all he wants is you in his arms so obediently," the demon in front of you laughed disdainfully, "how sweet."

Your eyebrows furrowed uncomfortably, almost agitatedly. "Have you dealt with this type of request before?"

"Many times, yes. With many different results depending on the patron. Light his house afire, put venomous snakes in his bed, or to just kill him in broad daylight," he inspected his knife-length nails jadedly, "all similar, none too fun when you do them so often."

When he swiped away his long fingers, they glinted in the darkness of your room, close yet so far from even coming into contact with you, a reminder. "What is it you can do that will be different?"

You puffed your chest out dignifiedly, trying to keep what little confidence and self-esteem that wouldn't be stolen now by him. You nonchalantly shrugged. "He was all Hell anyway, why not give it to him? Scare him by sending him to you if he continues?"

The demon hummed thoughtfully, carefully. "You want to send him to deal with me?"

You scoffed, frustrated and irritated by the situation. "I'm sure a demon prince himself would have many ideas compared to me. It's my first time getting revenge on someone."

There a moment for pregnant silence before the demon rumbled with his laughter that was as loud as thunder that struck and brought pins through the back of your spine with shudders. "You ask me? The son of the King of Hell himself for your meagre ex-lover to spend time with me as if he was in a detention centre?"

"Well... I'm sure with that, you can have as much fun with him. Feed into his fear, you know? I heard demons liked that."

"I'm not just any demon, my dear." He was still calm as he spoke to you, his many eyes lit brightly against the candles burning.

"No," you corrected yourself, "I picked the best of the best, Prince Vorrelith."

The embers fell off his skin as he crossed his muscular arms about his chest, pleased with your words. He was thinking all throughout. "This request must be followed with a requirement of my own."

"If you want my soul, I can't give it to you, I lost it a long time ago."

He rumbled with amusement once more wryly. "No, though before you had spoken, I thought it was the tastiest to consume." He licked his sharp teeth with his blackened tongue, the act brought a jolt to pass through you once more.

"All I ask from you is of one thing. Matrimony."

"Like... marriage?"

"Precisely." He winked, straightening his wings behind him, "As the Prince of Darkness and heir, my father asks that I find a wife, borne amidst embers and ash, a demon like myself. But sadly, I haven't found myself one."

"How unfortunate." Your voice was low and wary.

"Indeed, so I looked elsewhere and thought perhaps instead of trying to find a fiend, instead one with just as much of a fiery attitude like Inferno itself."

You watched as the chalk lines of your pentagram begun to hiss and dissipate in the air, fizzling out as if scorched to vanish, the lines giving more room for the demon prince to move. "You intrigue me and I could treat you better than any wretched mortal could. You could be my Queen, ruler of the damned."

You watched as he took a step out from inside of the lines that had scorched and faded away as the ash fluttered upwards and collected with the rest of the smoke, his thick hooves shifted as he took a step closer to you. "Sounds promising. But how do I know you won't use me for something else?"

"Your compromise for destruction has piqued my interest, dear. And things innocent like you are always easy to corrupt." Prince Vorrelith grinned sharply through his pointed teeth. "What do you say?"

You smiled back, quick to laugh even when it all seemed to inane. "When you bring my ex down to you, make sure I'm there... I want to see the look on his face when he sees my hate."
