"For you." Derin replied, with her eyes fixed on Prince Ire. "I knew you would be here."

For the second time, there was an heavy silence again. They both stared at each other without words. The atmosphere was so hot for Ara. Suddenly, she felt uncomfortable. She couldn't stand how broken Derin was. She felt for her, but refused to accept she was the reason why Derin was that way. Obviously looking stressed, with eyes that must have cried for hours, or even overnight with how red her eye balls were. Ara wanted to excuse them but Prince Ire drew her back and held her waist tightly with his hand.

"Why are you here?" Prince Ire finally voiced out, asking Derin what she was doing there for the second time.

"For you babe." Derin replied all over again. "I knew you would be here. When I heard you will be celebrating your birthday alone, I instantly knew there is someone in your life again. Because that day, you also brought me here. You made me feel so important by showing me what you love. Telling me how important this place means to you. Teasing me till I exposed my white teeth. Even to the point you taught me how to play handball. Ire," she paused and immediately her eye balls which were wet released a drop of tear. No matter how she tried to express how much she wanted Ire back, it seemed really impossible for her to express herself well. Derin took a step forward. "I would never forget how you made me laugh. I love you so much Ire. I love you. It's so hard to stop loving an amazing man like you." Instantly, the tears rolled down her cheeks.

"You've encouraged me so many times. Your support has brought me here today and made me who I am. Those times I prayed to God to lead my path, he gave me an Angel and that is you. I still love you Ire. I know it's gonna be hard but this time, I'm ready to give all it takes to make it work."

Prince Ire sighed and stared at Derin. He tried to feel for her, but he was still hurt. And he knew he wasn't in any position to comfort her again. He couldn't leave Ara and run to her. He wasn't even going to, because now he loved only Ara. And nothing would ever change that. But words weren't enough, he needed actions. To deliberately show Derin he had gotten over her. Prince Ire sighed. "Common Derin, we are done a long time again. This is not necessary at all. Nothing would make me change my mind. I've moved on. That's in the past. This is my present." He held Ara tightly again. "Is Governor not an amazing man."

"Not as amazing as you." Derin wrapped her hands to her body as if she was cold. She looked up at Prince Ire with her teary eyes. "Ire, you accepted me despite all have done in the past. You didn't throw them to my face. You never made me feel less. You told me there isn't anyone without a past. Ever since that day, you stole my heart without knowing. Please, we can make it work again."

Prince Ire shook his head. "You must be joking right now. It is true I once loved you. I accepted you because I thought we could build something together, but you wanted something more. Something you must have realized I could not give you."

"No baby. Not at all. I was the one who could not give you anything." Derin disagreed. There was something she wanted to tell Prince Ire but she doesn't know how to. She thought about it once more and decided to talk. "Ire, I didn't marry the Governor because of money but because of your Dad." Derin confessed, staring face to face at Prince Ire for him to know she was in her right senses.

"That's another joke." Prince Ire said with a sarcastic smile on his face. He didn't believe Derin. He thought that was another lie from her. "Don't you dare put my Dad in this because he likes you!" Prince Ire was beginning to raise his voice. Now he blamed himself for allowing Derin to talk when he could have stopped her from taking and went about his business.

This time, Derin managed to put on a small smile before replying Prince Ire. She knew he wouldn't believe her. This was his Dad. The man he truly loved. But then, Derin went on. "That was what he made you think. That he likes me, but send some guys to kidnap me and had a video call with me, telling me I have nothing to offer you. Telling me my parents don't have enough power to stand with him in public. That I have no power to offer. That I thought I had seen where to drop my empty load after all I had done in the past. That he has to protect your future and that starts by securing a woman from higher status for you." Derin paused, then took another step closer to Prince Ire. "I regret it now."

Derin took another step again. "Your Dad had someone to investigate my life. He told me he would never let someone like me be with his son. And if I think I can, I should prove it to him. When the opportunity to marry Governor came, I jumped at it. Because I love you. Because I wanted to prove to your Dad I really worth your amazing love. And if doing this could make me be with you, I agreed to do it."

Prince Ire was speechless. His hand holding Ara's waist slowly dropped. He couldn't believe his ears. He wondered if Derin was the one lying or if his Dad was actually capable of doing that. All this while, his Dad made him believe he liked Derin when they were still dating. Now he understood what happened. His Dad was only impressed by Derin's education. Prince Ire's thought suddenly went blank because he had nothing to point at his Dad for doing that. "I find it so hard to believe this. My Dad would never do that. He would never!"

"Well, he did." Derin said to him. "And now, I know he must have found the ideal woman for you because..." Derin glanced at Ara. "He's gonna do the same thing with her." Then she returned her eyes back on Prince Ire. "Get ready."
