Damon spits out the drink he just took a swig of, his mouth burning and sizzling.

"Vervain in your bourbon...who didn't see that one coming?" Kai rhetorically asks.

Damon continues to cough, and I know that the vervain weakened him. Obviously.

I don't know what to do, though, because from what just happened, I can tell Kai isn't exactly weak.

Kai reaches over to the umbrellas that are in a container and he grabs one. He breaks it in half over his leg and looks down to Damon.

"Now, I don't know a lot about vampires, but from what I've gathered, a stake in the heart should do it, right?" Kai asks.

Damon tries to reach forward, but Kai brings down the wooden stake-like object into Damon's hand. Damon lets out a loud groan.

"No!" I yell, covering my mouth with my hand. Kai looks over to me with a smirk before turning back towards Damon and twisting the wood farther into his hand.

If I had my magic, I could help, but I don't. I don't know what to do.

"You always fight dirty, Damon," Kai says with a sigh. "That time you, Bonnie, and Elle played Monopoly and you stole from the bank? Not cool." Kai rips the wood out of Damon's hand, and they both stand up.

"You stole from the bank? That's why you won? You little liar." I mutter, completely forgetting what's happening in front of me.

Damon rolls his eyes, ignoring me, but I watch as a small smile creeps onto Kai's face.

"I'm gonna rip your head off." Damon says weakly.

"No," Kai shakes his head. "You're not."

Kai wraps his hands tightly around the wood and hits all of the alcohol bottles, every one of them breaking open. The liquid hits Damon, and he falls back down, groaning.

"I didn't know which bottle you'd take, so I vervained them all." Kai smiles.

I have to do something.

I run towards Kai, not entirely sure what I'm planning to do, and I push him away from Damon. I try grabbing the umbrella from out of his hands, but I'm too slow. Kai grabs a hold of my neck and squeezes his fingers around my throat.

I grab his wrist, trying to pull him away from me, but it's no use. He's stronger than me.

"Don't start something you can't finish, angel." He whispers. The nickname coming out of his mouth makes my stomach churn.

He lets go of my throat, but he pushes me down on the floor, along with Damon. He lifts the umbrella up, and Damon pushes me behind him trying to protect until we hear a voice.

"Stay away from them." Bonnie's voice warns. Me and Damon turn towards her.

"The other useless one is here. Thank God," Kai says with a fake relief in his voice. "I've watched you and Elle try to do magic for months now. What are you gonna do, fail at me? That's embarrassing. I'm embarrassed for you."

I can see Bonnie's face falter for one second. Kai lifts the umbrella again, but my focus is on Bonnie when I see her turn towards a candle on the shelf next to us. And it lights up. It lights up.
