Chapter Sixty Three

"From where?"

"Everywhere." The boy tugged on your hand, signaling you to follow him. "Mainly from Konoha and-"

Your legs gave out and in a second he was there, catching you. "Are you okay?"

You nodded sheepishly. "I haven't... haven't..." Exhaustion was catching up to you. And fast. "It's been... a week..." Black spots entered your vision. "Sorry..."

You were gently laid on the ground. As you tried to blink away the darkness, you saw Sasuke standing over you, calling and gesturing for help. Another figure entered your vision in full green. Was... was that a bowl cut?

"Don't worry, (Y/N)!!! I will carry you!!!"

"Oh God..." You groaned as arms lifted you up. You felt the draining of any remnants of your energy. Of all the people who could carry you, why did it have to be him?!?

As you faded into unconsciousness, you heard a sprinkle of words like "energy" and "youth".

Then everything went black.

Muffled voices came from beside you.

"When will she wake up? Is she dead? What if she's dead?!?"

"She's not dead, you idiot. She's exhausted! Now be quiet, she's trying to rest."

"But what if-"

"I said be quiet! She's- wait- I think she's waking up..."

You opened your eyes, blinking several times as you took in your surroundings. Above you was white, the top of a tent? And sitting beside you...

"(Y/N)-sensei!!!"

"Quiet, you moron!"

"Ow!" The blond rubbed his head.

The girl shook her head in disappointment, short pink hair swaying from side to side.

"Naruto? Sakura?" You rasped out. Your mouth, it was so dry...

The pinkette stood up, leaning over you and placing a hand on your forehead. "Your temperature seems better... you were burning up earlier!"

Quick as lightning, you grabbed her wrist, stopping her from moving away.

"Sensei? What are you- ahhh!!!" She yelped as you pulled her onto you, arms enveloping her.

"Mgmfm!!!" She cried out as you smothered her.

"Sakura!!!" You whined in joy as tears started flowing again. You were surprised there was enough water in your body for you to produce them. "I missed- OOF."

You felt the breath being knocked out of your lungs as something heavy dropped on top of you and the pinkette.

"SENSEI!!!!!" The boy on top of you cried out. Arms wrapped around your head, smothering you too.

"Mggfmg!!!" You and Sakura struggled to breathe as your pile of bodies were slowly crushed into each other.

The weight threatening to cave your chest in was finally relieved as the blond and pinkette were yanked off you.

"And just what do you think you're doing? I thought I told you not to touch the patient!"

You looked up to find Shizune boxing both of your students' ears. They grimaced in pain.

"Hey! Now, now, to be fair, (Y/N)-sensei started it when she- AHHH!!!" The blond silenced his protests as the Hokage's assistant twisted his ear.

"I don't care! You broke the rules!" She released her grip on both genin as they rubbed their ears gently. "Stupid kids..." She muttered as she walked over to you. "How are you feeling? You alright?" She checked your pulse, reaching for a pitcher and glass of water. "Here, drink some of this." She handed you the glass and you took it graciously.
