Kazuah looked at him in horror. No wonder, after all, she had just received news that no one could explain to her.  Her face became duller, she straightened up again and looked down seriously.

"What does that mean Heiji? Is that why you were so absent all the time.  We've been separated for a long time now, but you didn't dare tell me because I was in danger of losing my health? Even if I was, you don't play with feelings like that!" She looked around searching while Heiji just sat there speechless and couldn't digest what she was saying.

"Of course, why hadn't I noticed this before?!  There aren't any of my things around here.  Probably I was just a loner, which is why the doctors had to contact you compulsively.  What have I done wrong in life?"  Her eyes filled with tears showed her fear which had clearly transcended her anger.

She stood up in despair and looked at him with a hurt look.  "Please just tell me where my child is and where my home!". She was no longer herself, for the thoughts in her head went roundabout.

Only now did Heiji pull herself together again and stood up. He grabbed her by the shoulders and looked into her eyes seriously to make her understand again.

"What are you talking about? This was your home and it will be here forever!  Yes...  It's true...  I wasn't with you for the last years but I wanted nothing more than that.  You just suddenly disappeared.  The police, my father, Kudo and I searched for you... but you were nowhere to be found, and the police declared you dead. But I didn't believe it until the last day.  It was the worst time of my life!" Heiji's voice became louder and louder towards the end and he couldn't stand the pressure either.

No matter how much time might pass, these memories would pull him back into mourning over and over again.  "Life hasn't made it easy for me either, and I don't know how to deal with the fact that you're back."

Kazuha looked at him and didn't know if she could believe him or not.  Her feelings were just so mixed.  It all seemed like a sad, confused dream to her.  "Well then, how did you find me?" she asked calmly.

"Through Nozomi!"

"Hope?"

"Your daughter!" he said louder and more seriously as he looked at her piercingly.

Her eyes widened. Then she had indeed given birth to a daughter.  She thought and slowly remembered the face. The name told her something.  There was more than just beautiful meaning in that name. These memories sent a shiver down her spine. They were memories that had destroyed her life. That's how long she lived in fear for her daughter when the bastard dumped her in town. The article she had read got into her head.

And how Heiji finally found the house and was shot while trying to free her.  At the time she thought it was a dream. But one word he used made her tremble.

"Why did you say your daughter?" she asked so softly that he could barely hear her and smiled slightly. But this smile was nothing more than the expression of despair.
