„Can you at least tell me where your home is?" Heiji started another try. „No, we've just moved. It was the first time we went outside with my uncle. We've walked so much... I can't remember where our house is. ", she replied, still sobbing.

So, there was not a single clue to finding her parents. It was already midnight. How could he bring her to her parents, when he couldn't find out her address, nor the names of her parents? Wait, their names! He didn't ask about the names.

„What are the names of your parents?", he asked, full of hope. She seemed to think about it „I don't know. My uncle prohibited my mum to tell me her name ever.", she answered with a sad tone.

Heiji stared at her, confused and hopeless. That wasn't really the case, was it? He went desperately through his hair. What's the matter with this damned uncle, she constantly talked about? Everything she said was too strange to be true. Why would she don't be allowed to know the name of her mother? Something was wrong about her story.

„So, what's the matter with your father? What's the name of your father", he finally asked. But her face turned even sadder than before.

„My uncle tells me that he is my father. But I don't believe him at all because it isn't possible.", she screamed.

Heiji couldn't believe what he heard. Please what? What kind of sick family did she come from?
„Why do you not believe he is your father?" Now he was really curious about the answer.

„Because that's logical! Dads love their kids, right? Well, the dads of my friends are always playing with their kids and care about them. However, he just yells at me all the time and says he wants to get rid of me. He hates me. Also, mommy doesn't love him, and he doesn't love her. So he isn't my dad. I would rather have no father than call him a father." she explained with an angry face.

Heiji signed.
Her family was in a very critical situation, that was clear. With her description of the situation, even domestic violence was possible. 'What should I do with you?, he thought. Maybe it was possible for her to create an identikit of her mother. She definitely would remember how her mother looked.

"Please listen... Uhm... Nozomi, right? If that's the case, we have to make a picture of your parente-... I mean your mother. If not, I am unable to find her. Will you help me with it? We can also take a police officer with us to help us, ok?" That was Heiji last chance to get any further in that case. Otherwise, the police department was forced to take her to the children's home.

She looked at him hopefully and seemed to smile again after a while.

So Heiji took her hand and called Othaki, for sending him a police officer, who was familiar with identikits. While Heiji was talking, Nozomi carefully observed every of his moves. When he finished talking, he stooped down to her and smiled " Soon they will send us a police officer, and then we create an identikit of you mommy.", he explained in an overly friendly way. He wasn't sure if she actually understood what an identikit was, but as long as she nodded it, he was satisfied.

They waited until the officer finally came and stumbled out of his car." The chief inspector sends me to you. How can I help you, Detective?", he asked, hardly breathing.

"We have to create an identikit of the mother of this girl called Nozomi.", Heiji looked at her, so the officer understood whom he meant. "She doesn't know the address or the name of her. So, we have no other possibilities."

The officer looked a little confused, but didn't ask any more questions. Just as Heiji wanted to get in the car, Nozomi pulled him back.

"What's the problem?", he asked, annoyed.

"I want him to show me his police badge!", she explained with strong-willed eyes.

The detective from Osaka opened his eyes widely, " W-what? For a five-year-old girl, you know pretty much!"

"I'm already six. My mom told me that. She said if something bad happens, I should always call the police. But I have to be careful, that they are real and not some kidnappers. So?", she still hasn't changed her look.

Heiji was fascinated. He didn't expect that kind of knowledge. But the officer hesitated and looked confused.

" Hey, what are you waiting for? You heard what she just said!" Heiji suddenly said with a grin. After all it happened really rarely that a six year old girl checked an officer.

"Yes, of course.", he said blushing and showed her his police badge."

" You see, I am a real officer. ", he smiled and Nozomi finally get into the car.

He sat on the back seat with her and while she was watching our of the window heiji started whispering to her. "Would you tell me one thing? When I talked to you, you don't asked me for any evidences. I could also have been a kidnapper."

She looked at him with her big eyes. "I already knew you that you are the detective Heiji Hattori, because you are in the newspaper so often. My mum read all the articles about you and about the detective from Tokio to me, because I love detective storys so much."

Heiji was self-conscious. So he and Shinichi weren't just liked by adults and teens.

As they arrived at the detective agency they immediately started their work. It was so late that even Heiji got tired. They started with the face shape, while Nozomi was yawning frequently.

"But his have to be the right one?" he asked desperately and looked at her. But she already fell asleep with her head lying on the table. Heiji sighed at rubbed his eyes, because he also was really tired. He already had solved two cases that day and was now working on the third one till the night. It defentetly wasn't easy to be a popular detective.

Now he looked to the officer, who could not went any further without Nozomi. "I think we are done for today."

"But what should we do with the child?", he asked Heiji.

Heiji looked to her worried "I will take her to my home, to continue the search tomorrow. At that time there is no other option.

The officer agreed and left the agency.

Heiji took her carefully to his apartment on the second floor. He layed her down on the bed in the guestroom and covered her with a blanked.

Quietly he left the room and went to his own bed. His brain was full of thoughts and he stared at the floor. He surely couldn't start any new cases the next day. Furthermore this case would take some days to solve. As he thought he analyzed all the facts and her words again. It was clear that Nozomi lived in a broken family when she even denied to call her father a father. Also the fact that she didn't know the names of omher parents, was also suspicious. Was it possible that her father left Herr on purpose? No, never! Heiji stopped to think about that scenario. He just hoped her parents would start to search for her tomorrow and file a missing person's report. Then the case would be solved very fast.

In that moment he wished Kazuha would be with him again. She would know how to act in that situation.
