You had seen Wayne's World because your friend had made you watch it one night and now you mostly watched it for Garth.
Now, due to losing a stupid dare with your friend, you had two tickets to a concert, one of which you were hoping to offer to Garth. Your friend pushed you in the direction of their table.
“Uh, hey, Garth,” you said, trying not to screw up and look like an idiot.
“Hey,” he said. He looked a little nervous as he glanced off into the distance for a moment.
“So... I have two tickets to a concert and my friend can't come so... do you want to come?” you asked with a hopeful smile.
“A concert?”
You nodded and showed him the tickets you were hold in your hands. They were shaking slightly and if this ended up being humiliating, you were never going to forget.
"Def Leppard?" he asked with wide eyes. You nodded, it was only an hour away and Garth almost always wore a Def Leppard shirt on Wayne's World. In fact, you were fairly sure he had been worn a Def Leppard shirt every time you had seen him in Stan Mikita's Donuts. And that included right now. “I'll go with you.”
He nodded before turning to Wayne. Garth tapped Wayne's shoulder and he turned around.
“Hey Wayne, guess who's going to a Def Leppard concert with a babe?” You tried not to blush at Garth calling you a babe but you were fairly sure you were blushing.
“No way!”
“Way!”
“No way!”
“Way!”
Wayne and Garth weirdly high fived and Wayne said something you didn't hear before turning back to the other two guys at their table.
“I don’t really know how this works, do you pick me up or...?”
“I can pick you up,” said Garth, as he nodded eagerly.
“Okay then,” you said with a grin on your face. You just couldn't help it maybe you'd have to thank your friend for this if it all went okay. You told Garth your address and you couldn't wait until the day of the concert.
You doubted you would ever feel happier than you did knowing you were kind of going on a date with Garth with Wayne's World. Heading back to your friend at the table, they seeemmed to have already figured out the outcome?
“He said yes?” they asked, leaning forward as they waited for confirmation.
You nodded. “He said yes!” You tried to be quiet, the last thing you wanted was Garth to hear you practically squealing over him.
“I bet you're glad I made you do it now,” they said with a smug smirk.
“Yeah, if it turns out well,” you said.
But you doubted it would go badly but you were too excited to think about what could go wrong.
