"I appreciate everything you've done for me," he said with a smile. "You've done so much and you've been here since the beginning.
"Chuck..." You laughed to cover your awkwardness.
"I just wish I could do more that give you a mention in a book."
"It doesn't seem much to me but a million people are gonna see that book and know it's dedicated to me," you said smiling. "That is more than enough for me."

Even though what you said was true, you didn't want Chuck doing anything more just because you helped him get his first book published. Yet, you still hoped for something more. Something more intimate, perhaps, but not necessarily.

"(Y/n), would you like to go out with me?" He asked. You raised your eyebrows at him. God must have been listening to you. "Like on a date."
"Like on a date?" You repeated, momentarily shocked.
"It's fine if you don't want to, it was probably stupid of me to even ask."
"No," you said a bit too quickly. "No,  Chuck. I'd love to go on a date with you."

"Really?" he asked. You smiled and nodded, not quite believing what was happening.
"Yeah," you said. "Actually, I've liked you for a while."
"I never thought you'd think of me like that, I thought I was being weird."
"I thought the same," you admitted.
"(Y/n), I'd love it if you could help me publish every other book I write," he said.
"I'd love that too."

You're eyes met and you both smiled at each other, glad to have finally confessed the feelings both of you felt. You felt him hold your hand across the table and you smiled a little wider. Not only was he man you liked an awesome writer, he was caring and kind and generous and adorable.
