"What are you afraid of? Is it because of whatever has happened to you in the past that you think I will do the same?"

He came closer and held my hand. And he said in a low voice, almost like whispering.
"Hold my hand and close your eyes. You'll understand yourself what the truth is and what's not."

I did it and all our moments we spent together popped in my mind. His face, his smile, his voice...
I quickly opened my eyes only to be met by his. His eyes were piercing mine, like he was trying to read me.

"Your eyes are reflecting the love you have for me. You're just not ready to accept it."

He came more closer and touched my cheeks. I lowered my eyes and leaned into his touch.

"Please accept it sooner Sarah. You're torturing yourself by keeping me away from you. I can't stay that far from you anymore. I hid nothing from you, you know me inside and out. I can never hurt you because I'll be hurting myself by doing so. Please... trust me!"

He leaned and gave me a longing kiss on my forehead. Almost like kissing my soul and reassuring me at the same time of the words he just said and meaning them.
