CHAPTER 37 | Bittersweet Feeling

“You didn’t attend my party,” bungad ni Selena pagkapasok ko sa room namin. It looks like she was waiting for me because she was the first one to spot, and walk towards me.

“Yeah, I was studying.” With your crush.

She sighed. “Sayang, akala ko makakabonding ko si Warner. Hindi naman pumunta. It’s just Sara and Saff.” I can hear disappointment in her voice.

I acted shocked. "He didn't attend?"

Of course, he didn't. He was busy teaching, and trying to flirt with me!

I sat at my usual seat, ignoring Selena's sad face. A VR (Virtual Reality) equipment was seated at the top of my desk. 

I sighed as I tried to calm myself. 

Today is the day I've been dreading. Last day of exams at talagang Math ang pinakahuli. I guess it's fine by me because I won't be distracted for my other subjects.

I swallowed my pride and asked Warner to teach me again. Akala ko ay magyayabang siya pero mukha siyang tuwang-tuwa nang ako mismo ang lumapit sakanya.

It kind of melted my walls a little…

"Settle down, class." Professor Sergio entered while carrying a black briefcase. Pinatong niya 'yon sa desk niya at sinuyod ng tingin ang room.

Shit shit shit. Ito na! Mage-exam na! 

"Wear your VRs, and make sure you don't forget the stopper. I'll insert the simulation after everyone is settled."

Tahimik naming sinunod ang sinabi niya. I wore it comfortably in my head but my heart is still pounding loudly as if I just ran a thousand miles. 

I wore the stopper in my left wrist because my bracelet is in my right. Ang stopper ay isang plain, black bracelet na may kakayahan na tanggalin, o pahintuin ang abilities namin. Required ito sa lahat ng written exams para walang cheating na magaganap.

Pakiramdam ko hihimatayin na ako nang lumabas na ang simulation sa vision ko. It was a classroom set-up, though doon ay kaming dalawa lang ni Professor Sergio at mariin siyang nakatitig sa'kin, binabantayan ako.

I hove a deep breath before I started answering.

"Tell me if it's already uploaded!" I'm cupping my face, not looking at the hologram site where our final grades will be uploaded.

I heard Warner chuckle beside me. "Alright."

Kahit hindi siya ang sinasabihan ko ay siya ang sumagot. Nasa dining area kaming lahat at nakaharap sa kanya-kanyang holotab, inaabangan ang grades.

Si Cyran at Xavier ang pinakachill saaming lahat. Kahit parehas silang maloko ay talagang matalino ang magpinsan na 'to. Tapos si Xavier ay sinamahan pa si Hera mag-aral kaya feeling ko na-perfect na niya yung exams!

"Kabado naman kayo masyado," Xavier joked, trying to make the mood lighter.

"Yabang mo naman!" Dinig kong angil ni Saff.

"No shit. Look at your brother and tell me who's more arrogant." Dahil sa sinabi ni Xav ay napasilip tuloy ako kay Cyran.

He was sitting with his arms crossed and observing us while smirking. Hindi nakabukas ang holotab niya at walang kakaba-kaba sa mukha.
