Cyran:

You're gonna be alone with him? I'm not worried about you; you're too strong to be in danger with a human. I'm more worried about him.

Napairap ako nang nabasa ang message ni Cyran. Akala ko pa naman ay mag-aalala siya at ii-insist na bumalik na ako do'n or something. Turns out my best friend just made fun of me.

Ako:

Idiot! How are you with your Bleanrithian investigation?

Pagka-send ng reply ko ay bumaling ako kay Adeleigh. I was helping her cooking our breakfast because I don't want them to feel that I'm just a burden here. Especially na ngayon ay iniwan ako ni Warner dito kasama ang pinsan niya which is a shitty idea.

Talagang kaunti na lang ay masasaksak ko na ang lalaking iyon.

"So Pauline," Adeleigh started, breaking the awkward silence. "How was working with Ace?"

Napaisip ako. "It's fine," I lied.

Tumawa siya habang nilalagyan ng shaper ang frying pan. "You can tell me the truth; alam naming magpipinsan na napakahirap siya kasama sa trabaho," she spoke.

I gave her a small laugh. "Not really fine, but I can handle his attitude naman," I answered truthfully.

She hummed. "Pa'no kayo naging close?" She asked before giving me a teasing smile.

Umiling ako habang piniprito ang eggs at bacon. "Oh, we're not that close."

"Oh don't lie to me, Pauline, he lets you call him Warner."

Napaisip ako. Close na pala iyon sa gan'ong lagay? But, sure, maybe, I kind of told him about my father and what he did to me so yeah, I guess, we're close? But not that close. Just, a little bit close. He's still a human.

Nang napansin niyang hindi na ulit ako magsasalita ay nginitian niya ko ng matamis, making her face more familiar with me.

"I didn't mean to pry, siguro na-excite lang ako sa thought na naging friend mo si Ace."

"Uh, no, it's okay, really, Adeleigh." Sinulyapan ko siya. "Hindi ba madalas magkar'on ng friend si Warner?" I asked slowly.

"Not really, he has many friends outside the company. He never really mentions anyone from his work to us." Tinignan niya ako. "And please, call me Addie."

I nodded and smiled. "Okay."

Now I feel good! Nagkaroon na ako ng babaeng kaibigan sa Earth! Ang nakilala ko lang kasi ay si Ms. Legazpi at hindi pa siya ganoon ka-friendly.

"You know." Hinarap ako ni Addie. "You look really familiar."

I gaped in awe. "Really? That's what I thought, too." I laughed in delight.

"Baka nagkita na tayo back in Manila? Some mall, university, party, even?"

Now, that's impossible. Kaya nga iniisip ko din kung bakit napaka-pamilyar ng mukha niya at ni Axel; even that horrible boss of ours, Lucius.

It's too impossible and it bothers me.

"Yeah, maybe," I lied.

"Maybe you know one of my other cousins and we met on a party? Lucius? Eleen? Uh sino pa ba pinsan ko." She stopped and thought. "Kiefer? Kael? Brendan?" Tuloy pa niya sa pagtatanong habang ako ay napatitig na lang sakanya habang naguguluhan.
