KAZUMI

When I woke up, I immediately felt the excruciating pain all trough out my body. I could still move though.

It's Tuesday and I need to go to school. Even though I can handle it, still hindi ako pwedeng mag-absent dahil lang sa sakit ng katawan.

No'ng natapos na ako'ng maligo at mag-ayos, bumaba na ako pra kumain. Naabutan ko na man doon sila Ate, Mom at Dad. I see, my brother is no where to be found, as usual.

"Oh, good morning, Kazumi." bati ni mom sa akin.

"Good morning," I greeted back.

"How are your wounds?" tanong ni mommy sa akin nang makaupo na ako.

"They're fine, though I need to rest."

"Then you should," dad suggested.

"Oo nga, Kaz. We can always tell you the details about the lessons."

'Tsaka, parang kailangan mo rin talagang mag-study, ang talino mo na kaya!"

"Thank you for cheering me up, but really I'm fine." I immediately finished my food after that discussion. "We should go now." I stood up as I bid farewell to our parents.

"Are you really sure, Kaz? Okay lang na man na umabsent ka rin minsan 'no."

I looked at her as if telling her I'm really serious. "I can handle myself. 'Tsaka, if I show my enemy that one fight can get the most of me then, I practically admit defeat. 'Yon nga lang kung sa school natin siya nag-aaral."

"She has a point, Elle. Andito na man tayo para kay Kazumi eh, kaya kung may mangyari man, atleast hindi siya nag-iisa," said Anne.

"You guys are the best! Oh, nasa school na tayo!" I said smiling. I don't want my sisters to think that I couldn't take care of myself, and I also don't want them to worry about me. I want to prove to them that I can handle everything that comes my way.

Morning classes have ended and now, we're at the cafeteria.

"Okay ka lang ba, Kazumi?" tanong sa akin ni Gia.

I smiled to assure her. "Of course, bakit naman hindi?"

"Wala lang. Para kasing pagod ka, hindi naman sa haggard ka pero parang may lungkot sa mga mata mo."

"I agree! So not like you Kazumi." Cleo said while rolling her eyes. "But it's okay. We all get tired na man, just don't forget that you have us, your friends who can be your shoulder to cry on."

"Yup! Andito lang kami para sa'yo, okay? Kung may bumabagabag man sa'yo, andito lang kami!" Elle said na sinang-ayunan na man nina Cleo, Jia at Anne. Hindi namin kasama sina Jazz ngayon because apparently they overslept, that's why they decided to not go to school anymore. They're also smart na man so I don't think they'll have problems catching up with the lessons.

"Thank you, guys! I really appreciate it. I'm also here for you guys if you have problems."

"So?" Cleo said as if she's waiting for my answer.

"So, what?" I asked, puzzled about what they want to know.

"So ano'ng bumabagabag sa'yo?" They all answered in unison which amazed me, grabe ang bond with each other ha. It somehow made me lift up my mood, knowing that there still other people who care so much about me. Who knows that something's off just by the way I act. Hindi na man ako ganoon ka-obvious 'di ba?
