We were at Death Café, Stein was next to me and Spirit was across from us, looking worried. After we ordered, Stein walked outside the café to smoke and I was left alone with Spirit, giving me a chance to put him at ease.

"Spirit, you haven't got anything to worry about. Maka is fine."

"I know. . .It's just. . .she doesn't come to me for these kinds of things." Spirit began, looking at the table and a pained expression crossed his face, making me frown.

"Spirit, girls aren't so straight forward. There are some things she's going to go through that a man just can't help with." I tried, sighing and hoping he'd catch my eyes to see how sincere I was.

"She hates me, (Y/N)."

"Spirit, as angry as she may be. . .You're still her father. She does love you."

". . .You think so?"

"Yes, Spirit."

The sound of the door opening, then closing made us fall silent.

"Oh please. Don't let me end the conversation."" Stein teased, taking his seat next to me and I slapped his arm, fussing,

"Now, you know that's not it at all!" He chuckled and nodded, becoming serious.

"(Y/N), did you talk to Maka?"

"Yes, she said she is going to talk to him tonight."

Spirit jumped into the conversation and asked,

"Maka is going to talk to Soul tonight about what?"

"She has feelings for Soul. She's going to tell him about her feelings when they get home." I told him, leaning back into my chair. Spirit seemed to get upset, but then he calmed down, asking,

"Did you support her?"

"Fully. She can always come to me about these things, I told her this.'

". . .Thank you."

Our food came to the table and as we ate, Stein commented,

"Spirit, I know that isn't the only thing bothering you. What's going on?"

". . .Hm."

Looking between the men, I also saw it. This wasn't just paternal, he had something to tell us. Sighing, Spirit put his fork down and rested his chin on his hand, starting,

"Sharp as always, Stein."

". . ."

"No, Maka isn't the only thing I'm worried about. With Asura's escape, the other Death Scythes are coming back to Death City. Tomorrow we have a meeting with all of us, (Y/N)."

"Great. . ." I groaned, finishing my food and rolling my eyes, making Stein chuckle. Spirit looked at me and sighed,

"I'm just as excited as you are, (Y/N). We can stick together if it'll make you feel better."

"I just don't feel like dealing with one Death Scythe."

"I've got one guess who." Stein teased, nudging my elbow and making me frown.

"Oh, come on (Y/N). Marie isn't that bad." He continued, trying to make me smile and I sighed, rolling me eyes. Spirit laughed at us and I glared at him, responding to Stein,

"It doesn't take a soul reader to know that she still has eyes for you, Stein." Stein chuckled and smiled at me, whispering,

"I don't want anyone else, (Y/N)." Spirit groaned and stuck out his tongue, teasing,
