Eula said that her relatives already arrived at the hotel so here we are... Meeting the relatives.

Upon entering the lobby of the hotel, I heard someone exclaimed.

"General????"

I looked around to see who it was though I am not sure if that person is referring to me.

Malay mo may General nga dito at kakilala ko pa. Dumapo ang mata ko isang may edad nang babae.

I blinked several times at the elderly woman who is looking straight at me.

Then recognition hits me. "Mrs. Jefferson!"

"Oh, it indeed you! What a small world, General!" she exclaimed once again. And hugged me. This woman has been a mother figure to me when I was in Canada.

Yes, I've been travelling to Canada when I was still residing in the US. That's where I met this woman. She is a Filipino but married to a Canadian.

I was a Lieutenant serving in the US army when we first met in a cafe in Los Angeles. She insisted of calling me General since she believes that one day, I will be a General of the Armed Forces.

"Magkakilala po kayo, Tita?" naguguluhang tanong ni Eula.

Muntik ko nang makalimutan na kasama ko pala siya.

Pero anong sabi niya....?

Tita?

"Oh, yes, anak. Siya iyong sinasabi ko sa'yo na General na ipapakilala ko sana sa'yo noong nagbakasyon ka sa Canada." sabi ni Mrs. Jefferson. "Alam mo naman ako kapag nakakita ng isang taong alam kong good for you ay hindi ko pinapalampas ang pagkakataon."

What the hell? Si Eula ang tinutukoy noon ni Mrs. Jefferson na pamangkin niyang doctor?

Destiny ba ito????

"But enough of the past wala na akong magagawa doon kasi ikakasal na si Eula bukas." masayang sabi ni Mrs. Jefferson sa akin.

Then unti-unting naglaho ang ngiti sa labi niya at napalitan ng curiousity.

"But wait, bakit kayo magkasama?" tanong niya sa amin ni Eula. "Magkakilala din kayo?"

"Tita, siya po si Albert. Ang mapapangasawa ko." sagot ni Eula.

Napatili si Mrs. Jefferson pero agad sinaway ni Trace. "Ma! Stop it. Nakakahiya baka isipin ng mga tao dito sinasaktan ka namin!"

True enough, pinagtitinginan na kami ng mga ilang tao na narito.

Agad namang tumalima si Mrs. Jefferson.

"Tingnan mo nga naman ang tadhana. Kahit pala naudlot ang pagkikita niyo noon ay pagtatagpuin din pala kayo ng kapalaran. Well, sabi nga nila. What's meant to be will always find a way." Mrs. Jefferson said dreamily.

All those times I have been shrugging off Mrs. Jefferson's invitation to meet her niece makes sense now. While it is true that during those times, I have flings and welcomed women to flung themselves at me. But if I agreed that time to meet Eula, then there is a great possibility that this moment will never happen. I was a very different person back then and I am afraid that I will just end up hurting Eula if I had met her then.

"Mrs. Jefferson, I am blessed for not meeting Eula that time. They say everything happens for a definite purpose. And I am certain that we saw each other then, there might not be a wedding tomorrow."
